American Horror Story has touched on many themes and time periods over its seven seasons.

From a 1960's mental institution to a retro hotel in downtown Los Angeles, each self-contained miniseries tells a tale of unusual happenings, some of which have been inspired by true events.

However, it looks like the hit show is set for an entirely new direction, with creator Ryan Murphy revealing that the new season will be set in a science-fiction style future.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the executive producer revealed the news during the Television Critics Association's press tour in Pasadena last Friday.

Without giving too much away, Ryan explained: “All I’ll say about it is I want to go to the future—still topical, but the future, which I’ve never done.”

He continued to say how the idea was met with huge excitement from FX bosses, adding how he thinks fans are really going to enjoy the new theme.

“I pitched it to [FX chief] John Landgraf today right after his TCA panel, and he loved it, but he’s asked me not to say what it is,” Ryan said.

“I told him and he fell out of his chair with joy. I think people will like it, it’s different from what we’ve done before, but I always try and do the opposite of what I’ve done on that show.”

Though no date has yet been set, American Horror Story season 8 will likely go to air this coming September, with Sarah Paulson confirmed to return for a new leading role.

Ireland is set to experience temperatures as low as minus five degrees tonight, as the cold snap continues, bringing severe frost and icy patches with it.

AA Roadwatch has asked drivers to be extremely careful when travelling on the roads this weekend.

They have been advised to allow extra time when travelling.

Barry Aldoworth warned drivers, “Watch in particular for areas of roads where they might be covered by trees, because they will take longer for ice to defrost, meaning that the roads could stay slippier for longer."

He added, “Sunday is traditionally a quieter day on the roads, but if you are one of those making a journey to the family, or if you have been down the country for the weekend and you are coming home, just allow yourself some extra journey time.”

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning nationwide. They shared that Ireland is set to experience very cold temperatures, with the lowest ranging from zero to minus five degrees.

It is set to turn very cold with severe air and ground frost returning. They have also warned the public to be aware of icy patches on damp, untreated surfaces.

Stay safe out there!

It's no secret that a poor night's sleep can leave us feeling tired and underprepared for the day ahead, but when those feelings start to become a constant strain on our mental health, it's probably time to start prioritising a consistent sleeping routine.

New research has found that people who sleep less than eight hours a night are far more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression, due to their inability to disengage with negative thoughts and emotions.

The study, published in the Journal of Behaviour Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, analysed 52 adults with “repeated negative thinking” (RNT).

Participants were asked about their sleeping patterns and their eye movements were monitored as they viewed a number of images.

For the purpose of the study, some images were designed to trigger an emotional response, while others were intended to produce a neutral response.

According to Science Daily, results showed that participants who reported getting a insufficient amount of sleep (eight hours or less), spent more time looking at the negative images, meaning they were unable to remove themselves from the negative thoughts that came along with them.

“We found that people in this study have some tendencies to have thoughts get stuck in their heads, and their elevated negative thinking makes it difficult for them to disengage with the negative stimuli that we exposed them to,” said study author Professor Meredith Coles from Binghamton University.

“We realised over time that this might be important – this repetitive negative thinking is relevant to several different disorders like anxiety, depression and many other things.”

Researchers now intend to carry out further studies in the hopes that one day, psychologists may be able to treat anxiety and depression by helping the patient create a better sleeping routine.

Discovering you're pregnant can be one of the most exciting moments in a person's life.

Khloé Kardashian appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to share how that special event played out.

'Tristan kept saying 'You're pregnant' and I was like: 'Be quiet. I'm not pregnant,'the 33-year-old told the talk show host.

A post shared by Khloé (@khloekardashian) on

'I was nauseous, not feeling well and then he had to leave the country and I took a pregnancy test… I was like, screaming. It's so weird and surreal,' she said excitedly.

Khloé can hardly walk down a street without being photographed, so getting her hands on a pregnancy test was a task in and of itself.

The mum-to-be sent out her 'trusty assistant' Alexa to get the test. For weeks on end, only Alexa and Tristan knew the good news.

A post shared by Khloé (@khloekardashian) on

The couple refrained from telling the rest of the Kardashian clan until Tristan was back in the States, as they wanted to spill the beans together.

The happy moment was captured Keeping Up With The Kardashians, of course.

The show's crew actually knew that Khloé was pregnant before her own family. In a way, though, the crew are family as well.

'I've known the crew since 2007. We've had pretty much, essentially, the same crew. And they've been involved in so much of the best and the worst of our lives. And they keep quiet," the reality star shared.

Jimmy asked the TV personality if she's received any advice from her sisters or mum since they found out she's pregnant. Khloé said yes, but that 'a lot of it is, you know, unwanted'.

'Kourtney gives a lot of advice, and I think it's so sweet, but I don't want to do some of that stuff…It's either her way or no way,' she admitted.

Khloé said she and Kourtney been fighting a lot lately as a result, and that usually they 'never fight'. One point of contention was Khloé's desire to have a TV in her nursery.

A post shared by Khloé (@khloekardashian) on

She said her big sister thinks Khloé is 'the worst person ever for wanting a TV'.

Hopefully, though, they'll patch things up, as Kourtney and the rest of the fam are expected to be in the delivery room in Cleveland with Tristan and Khloé on the big day.

'I've been in the delivery room for all of their babies…I even witnessed Kylie being born from my mom,' the expecting mum shares.

She was only 13 years old at the time, and she said the experience was 'horrifying'.

Online influencers are a huge part of people's online lives these days.

You follow the women you look up to, whether it's for their style, makeup routines or business savvy.

As the influencer industry has grown to become a multi-million dollar concept, the competition to attract follows has too.

A post shared by Suzanne Jackson (@sosueme_ie) on

It's safe to say that living your life in front of anything from 20,000 to 400,000 online eyes comes with a certain amount of pressure to maintain an advertiser-friendly facade.

For some, authenticity is the cornerstone of their business.

For others, the pressure to appear perfect has led to accusations of photoshopping, alleged secret surgery and heavy editing.

Now, there is nothing wrong with throwing a good filter over a photo and maybe whitening your teeth if they were a little wine-stained on that particular night – most people now have a mini perfecting app on their smart phones.

However, some influencers have been accused of having a very close relationship with the airbrush filter, which has spawned hundreds of blogs, forums, twitter, facebook and instagram pages and groups who discuss the various aspects of the influencers' photography.

Some argue that as these influencers sell makeup, skincare and fitness products to their audience, it is deceptive of the influencers to then heavily edit their photos to make their hair, skin or physique look different.

This heavy scrutiny has been labelled as bullying by some of Ireland's biggest influencers.

Rosie Connolly, who has received massive praise for being honest about her skin issues in recent months, took to Snapchat to discuss her thoughts on the forums.

'Have I had my lips done? Yes. Have I ever lied about it? No.'

Do I hate the way I looked? No. Still the same me, just with better brows, makeup and someone found me a hair toner.'

She then uploaded a snap of her from her teenage years, side by side with a recent image.

The Makeup Fairy has also been a topic of discussion on these forums, on which she has been accused of editing her physique.

The woman behind the brand Joanne Larby took to her social media to share times where she has felt insecure about her appearance, and relayed that she has both 'great angles and horrendous ones.'

A post shared by Joanne Larby (@makeupfairypro) on

The makeup mogul also compared her situation to that of Mila Kunis, saying that celebrities have always been the target of criticism.

'I am the edited and unedited version,' the fitness model wrote.

The specific type of anti-bullying campaign that the bloggers intend to conduct has yet to be revealed, but we can only commend them for addressing the criticism and for using their influence to positively impact their online communities.

If you're anything like us, the mystery of Kylie Jenner' pregnancy has been driving you up the walls for weeks.

We felt sure that Kylie would reveal her baby news in the wake of big sister Khloe's amazing baby news, but alas, the wait for Kylie confirmation continues.

As Kylie has taken a side step out of the spotlight, and has refrained from sharing any snaps of herself on social media, it's boyfriend Travis Scott who has been fending off many of the pregnancy queries.

A post shared by flame (@travisscott) on

The rapper has refused to comment on the matter and has remained seriously tight-lipped, but said more than usual in a recent interview with Billboard.

When discussing family, Scott was asked if he had spoken to his father about becoming a father.

His elusive response? 'Uh… for what?'

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Now, that's not exactly the response we were looking for, but much like his gf, he's clearly playing hard-to-get on the baby revelation front.

'There are these rumours that you’re dating Kylie and having a child with her…' the Billboard interviewer then asked.

'I don’t want to talk about that,' responded Scott.

A post shared by flame (@travisscott) on

'They’re just guesses. Let them keep fishing.'

From Travis Scott's answers it would seem that the rumours arent true, but we've all seen those baby bump pictures…

In recent days, more Twitter users than ecver have been calling to censor the Twitter account of President Donald Trump.

The fresh wave of insistence comes after the POTUS posted a tweet directed at North Korean leader Kim Jung-Un.

In the tweet, the US President compared the size of his nuclear power button to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s after the leader of North Korea stated in a New Year’s Day speech that he has a nuclear detonator button on his desk.

Trump chose to retaliate and remind the ‘food starved regime’ that he too has a ‘big and powerful’ button.

Twitter has responded to the criticism by saying that it will not silence the voices of world leaders.

'Elected world leaders play a critical role in that conversation because of their outsized impact on our society,' reads a post on Twitter's blog.

'Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial tweets would hide important information people should be able to see and debate.'

'It would also not silence that leader, but it would certainly hamper necessary discussion around their words and actions.'

After the success of last year's Strike 4 Repeal, abortion rights activists have come together once again to plan the second strike.

Last year saw 4,500 people take to the streets of Dublin on International Women's Day to demonstrate their destain for the 8th amendment.

Since the last strike, the government has guaranteed that there will be a referendum on the 8th amendment this year.

A post shared by Strike4Repeal (@strike4repeal) on

However, there still has not been confirmation as to how the referendum question will be phrased or whether or not the 8th amendment will be abolished in it's entirety should a referendum be successful.

For these reasons, a second Strike 4 Repeal has been called to demonstrate that Irish women want a full repeal of the 8th.

'The #StrikeAssembly will gather at Leinster House on the last day of the Dail debate on the referendum to let our politicians know that we won't accept anything less than straight repeal and full abortion rights,' reads an Instagram post uploaded to the Strike 4 Repeal page last night.

A post shared by Strike4Repeal (@strike4repeal) on

'Date and time to be announced once the debate schedule is made public, join the #StrikeAssembly, make your voice heard loud and clear.'

Strike 4 Repeal will be holding a national strike if the Government does not commit to a clear yes or no question on a referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment.

They are calling on the Government to provide for free, safe and legal abortion services on request in Ireland.

A post shared by Sarah Magliocco (@sarahmagliocco) on

'This is essential for all women and pregnant people to ensure their right to reproductive healthcare is guaranteed, regardless of circumstances.'

'Should it become clear during the Dáil debate on the referendum that they intend to water down our rights, we will contact you with at least one week's notice to announce the date for a national strike.'
