Have you always been a beauty addict?

YES! I've always thought it was the most fun thing to shop for.

What made you want to launch a beauty brand?

I knew there was a market for whimsical luxury at a price that made sense.

What is your skincare routine?

I use DHC Cleansing Oil, followed by Pixie Glow Tonic then Strivectin Oleic Rapid Recovery serum. Lastly I put on the Winky Lux Dream Gelee.

What is your go-to make-up look?

I normally do a natural look that consists of White Tea Tinted Veil in Light, Peeper Perfect concealer in Light, Winky Unibrow Pencil, mascara (a new one launching in August!) and Winky Strobing Balm in Radiant Pink.

In the summer I typically dust Tarte loose finishing powder over it to last all day.

What about when you go out?

At night I will add MAC precision black eyeliner and Winky Lip Velour.

I love a bold red lip. I use the colour “Heart” in the winter and “Dirty Love” (which has more orange) in the spring and summer.

What products do you swear by?

The Winky Lux Peeper Perfect concealer is my desert island product. I never leave home without it.

I also love Commodity’s new fragrance “Whiskey” and Frank Body Coffee body scrub

Among all the amazing Winky Lux products, which one are you the proudest of?

The White Tea Tinted Veil is an amazingly light moisturiser that smells like a spa and has physical SPF 30. One of our customers wrote to us saying she never wore sunscreen until she bought the tinted veil because it's normally so sticky.

Considering that skin cancer is so dangerous I was proud that we made a product that made it fun for people to protect their skin.

All your products are cruelty-free and non-toxic. Is it because you are particularly concerned by environment issues or the health of your clients?

Yes to both! I am the ultimate test subject because I have highly sensitive skin and I use every product we’ve ever made. I don’t want harsh chemicals on my face so I wouldn't expect our customers to either.

As far as animal testing is concerned, it should probably be abandoned in the industry as a whole. It’s horrible and unnecessary and can, for the most part, be easily replaced with more sophisticated alternative testing.

How do you decide to create a product?

We get our best inspiration from our customers. We ask them for ideas all the time.

Once we have an idea we make sure that we can devise a package that’s as pretty as the product and then it’s off to the lab!

How has Instagram been in the heart of the development of your business?

It has been so important. It serves as a real time focus group where we can get instant feedback from the customer.

Do you think all brands should be on Instagram in this day and age?

Of course. It's where consumers are going to discover new things. It’s as important as your website.

Any Insta recommendations for your readers?

Oh yes! @sarahmcgonagall is an influencer in our neighbourhood who is always amazing with her high tech artistry! @virna_gambini has the prettiest flat lays I have ever seen. For fashion that is affordable/adorable @jennajordan works at Winky Lux and is the resident cute-outfit guru. Finally, the @betches cracks me up every day.

Why do you think Winky Lux got so much success so quickly?

I think women want something fun that celebrates them at a price that’s nice. Our products are luxury quality and have packaging that hopefully makes you smile.

Also so many of our products were inspired by ideas from our customers. I think they feel vested in the success of the products they helped create.

What WL product has been the most successful so far?

The Flower Balm and the Peeper Perfect Under Eye Concealer

What is your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur in your everyday life?

Getting enough sleep and eating healthy foods. It’s tough when you're on the road so much.

As a real girlboss, what advice would you give to young women wanting to become entrepreneur?

Don’t be afraid to start and don’t be afraid to fail. You will learn more from the failures than the wins (I have).

Success seems to be more about "time in" than timing. Ask for help,

What advice would you give to a young woman looking for a job? What are the mistakes young women tend to make on their resume or during interviews?

I think there is a recent trend of being afraid to say you don’t know something. I get more excited about a candidate that says “I don’t know everything about this but I’m curious and I’m prepared to dive in, work hard and learn it” than someone who sort of fakes their knowledge.

Recently I've also seen people come in with salary asks that are far above the salaries listed on the job description. I’m glad that women are starting to ask for more but that's not the way to do it. It makes the candidate seem as if they didn’t pay attention or even read the description. Also, always be on time for an interview.

What other brands inspire you?

Jonathan Adler (for their dedication to whimsy), Nike (for their ability to influence culture), Skinny Dip (for their hilarious kitchy voice), Ladurée (for their ability to create magical spaces)

What is the next step for Winky Lux?

We are opening 5 experience stores in the US then hopefully Europe next year!

Oh Friday , I love you so Matcha ! #TGIF #winkylux #matcha

New laws aimed at tackling sexual violence in France will see men fined for wolf-whistling at women.

France’s National Assembly voted in favour of the new legislation which will see offenders face on-the-spot fines of up to €750.

President Emmanuel Macron has said the bill is meant to ensure "women are not afraid to be outside," and covers anything that “infringes the freedom of movement of women in public spaces and undermines self-esteem and the right to security”.

Despite widespread public backing, far-right lawmaker Emmanuelle Menard labelled the legislation as a "witchhunt against men" during last week's debate.

Speaking about the law and how it would define the lines between harassment and flirtatious behaviour, France's minister for gender equality, Marlene Schippa, said the bill was not intended to "kill the culture of the 'French lover' but rather establish that consent is key."

This comes at the same time France's lower parliament stopped legislation whereby minors under 15 who have sex with adults over 18 would be presumed not to have given their consent, and instead introduced a clause in which relations between an adult and a minor could be classified as rape if "the victim lacks the ability to consent".

The bill now is now due to go to the Senate for final approval.

Ariana Grande has paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester bomb attack on the first anniversary of the tragedy.

22 people, including seven children, were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a device as people began leaving Ariana's concert at the Manchester Arena in May 2017.

Taking to Twitter, the 24-year-old wrote:  “Thinking of you all today and every day. I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day.”

Two weeks after the atrocity, Ariana returned to the city for the One Love Manchester benefit concert which saw the likes of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, and Manchester's own Liam Gallagher, take to the stage in tribute to the victims.

She and her mother Joan also visited some of the victims in hospitals around Manchester.

A remembrance service will be held at Manchester Cathedral today for those injured in the attack, and the families of those who lost their lives.

The Duke of Cambridge and Prime Minister Theresa May are due to attend, as well as first responders to the scene, civic leaders and other national figures.

The invitation-only service, held between 2pm and 3pm, will incorporate a national silence at 2.30pm, which will also be marked at UK government buildings.

I believe that the eighth amendment needs to be repealed as Ireland imposed shame and abuse on women for years.

Women were stripped of their human right and treated as second class citizens.

Today, they still don’t have full control of their bodies. The Irish Constitution displays an outdated attitude towards women. Article 41.2 states that “by her life within the home, woman gives to the State a support without which the common good cannot be achieved.” and “mothers shall not be obliged by economic necessity to engage in labour to the neglect of their duties in the home.”

A post shared by Together for Yes (@together4yes) on

Archbishop McQuaid played a part in writing the Constitution and he was obsessed with controlling women. He didn’t agree with the introduction of tampons in 1944 especially for 'unmarried women'.

He also opposed health care for women in case women might be informed about contraception and sexual health. It wasn’t until 1985 that condoms were allowed to be sold to people over 18 without having to present a prescription.

I don’t believe in abortion, but I believe in choice. I believe that every woman should have a say on their own body and that they shouldn’t be dominated by the church and our outdated constitution.

Women need good healthcare. We export our problems overseas instead of caring for them at home with respect and compassion.

Last weekend I went to an anniversary mass, but instead of praying for that person, the priest stood up and began to preach about his opinion on the eighth amendment as if he was superior to the rest of us.

I felt paralysed, I wanted to leave but if I did leave I would’ve been judged by the neighbours and shamed my family.

I believe in God but I don’t believe in the Irish Catholic Church and I don’t believe it was fair that the priest indirectly told people how to vote.

Our country used to drop our pregnant women and girls off at the gates of institutions that hid them from the nosey neighbours and the church. Our girlfriends, wives, daughters, sisters and mothers are dropped to the departure gates at Dublin Airport.

They are forced to travel to other countries to access basic healthcare services and we deny them necessary aftercare when they return. They are forced to order illegal abortion pills online.

If you vote no this will still happen, but if you vote yes we will be able to give women the healthcare they need.

It's time to trust women to make the right to make decisions that are right for them and their families. The eighth amendment currently gives the unborn an equal right to life as the mother, which prohibits abortion in almost all cases.

If we vote yes we are voting for “provision made by law for the regulation of termination of pregnancy.”

Abortion will be accessible within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

A post shared by #savethe8th (@savethe8th) on

The medical practitioner will have a legal obligation to discuss the woman’s options with her. A three-day waiting period will be enforced. After the 72 hours has elapsed, an abortion pill will be administered to women who choose to continue with the abortion.

After 12 weeks abortion will only be performed if the woman’s life is at risk. Two doctors will be asked to determine if an abortion should be permitted.

After 24 weeks abortion will only be allowed if the foetus will not survive outside the womb. If the amendment isn’t repealed none of this will be allowed. Abortion will only be allowed if the woman’s life is at risk.

A post shared by Repeal Project (@repealproject) on

Abortion will not be used as a form of contraceptive.

We can trust women in Ireland to make the right decision. If you vote no, nothing will change and the eighth amendment will continue to ruin existing lives.

Women will still travel abroad and take abortion pills.

This is a once in a lifetime referendum and every vote counts.

It's no secret that we are pretty Disney obsessed, and have fantasised about what life would be like as a princess.

Well, it looks like those dreams could finally become a reality as Disneyland Paris are hosting open auditions in Dublin this week.

Taking place this Wednesday, May 23rd, in Dance Ireland at Liberty House on Foley Street from 10:30am, scouts are looking to find enthusiastic and energetic characters for Disneyland's characters and parade departments.

Candidates must speak English or French, be a minimum of 18 years old and must be available until 6 pm.

They ask that all candidates wear comfortable clothing (to participate in a movement/dance combination) and refrain from wearing makeup.

So, if you think you've got what it takes to be the next Elsa, you better get those dancing shoes on and start preparing your routine.

The Internet, at times, can be a magical place.

This was the case when a disgruntled Twitter user tweeted he was “sick” of girls being nice to each other on Instagram.

His tweet read: “Sick of going through Insta and seeing girls commenting on other girls pictures 'look at u!! and 'have you seen yourself’ grow up man you don't even know each other.”

That’s right, he has a problem with women complimenting each other's pictures with positive messages.

The post went viral as Twitter clapped back and absolutely trolled the user.

In the replies, girls began complimenting each other and it was hilarious.

The fun didn't stop there as Leah replied with an equally nice message.

my heart!!!! you too girl! you’re so kind

As the post grew traction, the comments became more supportive of women empowering one another.

The comments ranged from complimenting their careers to lip colour.

The post currently has over 1.7k comments, 1.7k retweets and almost 10 thousand likes.

Girl power!!

Friendship bracelets, secret handshakes, cringey matching t-shirts – there are plenty of ways to show your bestie just how much you love and appreciate them – but these latest symbols of loyalty have got to be our favourite yet.

You and your best pal can now get temporary tattoos of each other's face, and if that doesn't scream BFF, we don't know what does.

Available from Etsy seller Lilimandrill, the personalised tatts are handmade to order and range in price from €61 (10 prints) to €288 (500 prints).

All of the images are hand-drawn and even include a message of your choice.

The temporary tattoos have proved to be a popular wedding favour, with many couples ordering a batch for their big day.

"These came out absolutely perfect and I can't wait for our wedding guests to see them! Thanks again!," wrote one happy customer.

While another said: "We absolutely love our custom made tattoos! The design process through email was super easy and we couldn't be happier with the result."

Honestly, we can't think of any situation that can't be improved by temporary tattoos…

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in a stunning ceremony at St. George's Chapel on Saturday, May 19.

The wedding ceremony was full of special, intimate moments, making it feel that little bit more special.

We certainly shed a tear or ten when the charming pair exchanged their vows. 600 guests attended the moving ceremony at St. George's Chapel, including a string of Hollywood celebrities, from Oprah to George and Amal Clooney.

To thank the public for the support on their wedding day, Harry and Meghan have shared three official wedding photos from their magical day.

Kensington Palace shared: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding on Saturday. They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the UK, Commonwealth, and around the world."

Our hearts are melting over these photos. The bride and groom look simply stunning.

When you think of major world leaders, you kind of just assume they're intelligent, right?

Well, if Donald Trump has taught us anything, it is that we should never EVER assume. Ever.

You know who is intelligent though? Bill Gates.

And according to Bill Gates, President Trump thinks HIV and HPV are the same thing.

Seriously.

According to the Billionaire, Trump actually asked him about the difference between the two viruses on TWO separate occasions.

Bill told the story recently, during a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation staff meeting.

Video footage from the meeting was obtained by MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes – and shared on the Internet, for our viewing pleasure.

"Both times he wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV," said Bill, remembering specifically two separate meetings with President Trump, one in December 2016 and another in March 2017.

"So, I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other."

Yes, we are laughing.

But we're also SO worried.

So, unless you have been peacefully residing under a rock for months, you will know about the royal wedding.

On Saturday afternoon, Prince Harry married the beautiful Meghan Markle, in a memorable ceremony.

And while Harry looked fab, along with all the famous guests – it was, of course, the bride that stole the show.

Rightly.

Meghan Markle, the now Duchess of Sussex, wore a simple dress by Claire Waight Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy.

The stunning bride paired the gown with a long, lace veil and tiara, loaned to her by The Queen.

FLAWLESS, let me tell you.

Anyway, it was only a matter of time before someone recreated the look.

Rashida Keenan is an Irish photographer, who uploaded her own take on Meghan Markle's wedding look yesterday – just 22 hours after rhe main event.

"I have spent today with an incredible bunch of talented ladies, who in less than 22 hours have recreated Meghan Markles stunning wedding looks," she wrote on Facebook.

"Make sure to get your copy of tomorrows Belfast Telegraph to read all about it. On Saturday, St. George’s Chapel was full of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nearest and dearest, however, there was one very special person missing from the celebrations- Harry’s dear mum, Princess Diana.

Harry lost his mum when he was a mere 12-years-old and there’s no doubt in our minds that he was missing her more than ever on his wedding day.

The 33-year-old made sure his mum was still part of this exciting chapter of his life.

Both Meghan and Harry made sure to honour Diana throughout their wedding day and they did so in the most subtle and classy way.

Meghan’s bouquet featured Diana’s favourite flowers- forget-me-nots, which Harry picked from their own personal garden in Kensington Palace on the eve of their wedding day.

Diana’s family were also present at the wedding ceremony, with Earl Spencer, and Diana’s sisters attending. Her sister Lady Jane Fellowes delivered an emotional speech about a mother’s love for her son.

A post shared by Kensington Palace (@kensingtonroyal) on

The touching reading was one of the most special parts of Harry and Meghan’s ceremony, “Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, passion fierce as the grave.”

As the newlyweds headed off for their private evening reception, Meghan was sporting a stunning aquamarine ring, which belonged to Diana. It is understood that the ring is her ‘something borrowed’. Meghan wore white pumps with baby blue soles for her ‘something blue.’

Diana may not have been there to celebrate their marriage, but Harry knows she would have been thrilled for him: “She’d be over the moon for me, but she would have been best friends with Meghan."
