It has been nearly four years since Katy Perry released her last full album, Prism, so we've been dying for the pop sensation to create more music.

Katy has confirmed that she does have new music on the way, full of 'purposeful pop' which reflects on society and politics.

However, fans have been wondering if the new album will have any response to her well-publicised beef with pop and country singer Taylor Swift, who is rumoured to have written her hit single Bad Blood about her feud with Katy.

'That’s not my question to answer, if it’s about me,' said Katy, when asked by Entertainment Weekly if she will be responding to Taylor's dig.

' I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person.'

'One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone.'

A post shared by KATY PERRY (@katyperry) on

'And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.'

'Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story.'

'But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey. We got to keep it real, honey. This record is not about anyone else!'

Okay, so it's definitely not going to have a response to Taylor, then.

We applaud Katy for bowing out of the traditional way in which women in the same industry can be pitted against one another, simply for being female.

In a move which Imgur user, KrissyKross, hoped would help bring closure to years of domestic abuse, she shared a series of texts she received from her partner during their marriage.

Now divorced, KrissyKross explains that she kept the screenshots of the messages to remind herself how far she had come, and ultimately decided that she was ready to share her experience online.

"My ex-husband was a kind, loving man. That is, until I lost weight (at 5'3" and over 200lbs, it was sort of necessary.) I then got a job," she wrote on the post.

"Suddenly I was cheating, I lost weight to get men, I couldn't buy clothes that fit me after the 80 pounds lost because it showed off my body."

"He hit me and sexually assaulted me. He waited outside my work for whole shifts, not telling me if he was carrying the Beretta M9 he had purchased recently," she confided.

"I wanted to go out with two (female) coworkers for my 23rd birthday. I told him weeks in advance and when the time came he punched me in the face and slammed my head into the floor, only leaving me alone because he had duty that evening. I tried to go to the police in the middle of the night, he tailgated me the whole way."

"I tried to talk to his parents and they told me it was normal in a young marriage and I should reassure him. His father is a pastor in Tennessee and holds this belief."

KrissyKross explains that her decision to leave came after her husband harmed her pets, writing: "While he was at work I packed a bag, my pets, and their food and hid at a coworker's house and called NCIS and the police."

"I spent hours getting bruises photographed, giving my statement, waiting while they put him on restriction."

Giving Imgur users an insight into the events that followed, KrissyKross wrote: "He was charged with a handful of misdemeanors and two felonies. I accepted his guilty plea bargain for 8 months in the Miramar brig on the condition that the felony charges be dropped. The judge wanted to give him 10."

Thankfully, she is doing well today and reflects on her marriage as a time of growth and courage.

"This isn't really a sob story; I'm really proud of what I've done on my own. I just wanted to share for possibly some closure since I never really got that I save these text messages to remind myself how far I've come, not to cry over."

People can be a little shy when it come to talking about their salaries, but with unions fighting the gender pay gap and more millennials in the workforce than ever before, it's a pretty important topic.

A submission from the Irish Women's Council of Ireland found that on average, childless women earn 17 per cent less than men, while working mothers earn 14 per cent less than their male counterparts, but in one industry, women are the higher earners.

A new report by Influencer found that female social media influencers are earning substantially more than men, completely flipping the gender pay gap.

A post shared by Chiara Ferragni (@chiaraferragni) on

A woman with 100,000 followers can earn up to €50,000 from posting two sponsored posts a week, while her male counterpart would earn approximately €37,000 for the same work.

This means that in the world of influencers, men earn about 26 per cent less than women in the same field.

According to the report, there are a few reasons for this.

A post shared by Zoella (@zoella) on

The researchers believe that this increase comes from the genres of interest that are popular online. Im som,e of these genres, women are the most prominent players.

‘Female influencers are commanding higher fees than their male counterparts, flipping the traditional pay gap on its head,' said Ben Jeffries, the 21-year-old founder of Influencer.

'Perhaps this is due to the exponential rise of fashion and fitness collaborations on social media, where female influencers are very prominent.’

A post shared by Tanya Burr (@tanyaburr) on

Fashion and fitness social media profiles are among the most popular, with the likes of Chiara Ferragni, Zoella, and Suzanne Jackson leading the pack.

With influencing now being a viable way for people to earn their full-time income, the fact that influential social media posts can now fetch such high sums is astounding.

For many women, navigating leers and catcalls is part and parcel of daily life, and while the vast majority are regrettably left to deal with harassment by themselves, we'd like to assume that if they do reach out for assistance, they will be properly supported.

However, one woman's recent encounter on public transport reminded Twitter users that unfortunately this isn't the case.

After enduring a particularly distressing encounter with a man who began 'rubbing his crotch' after she deflected his advances on a bus, Nathalie Gordon left her seat and approached the bus driver for assistance.

Frightened she explained what had happened to the driver, telling Twitter users: "I tell him that a man is rubbing himself on the bus. The driver, a man, says 'he probably isn't – sit somewhere else'."

Nathalie, understandably stunned by the driver's disregard, replied: "Remove him from the bus, call the police – I don't care'."

And in a move which has caused uproar on Twitter since Nathalie shared an insight into her experience, the driver replied: "What do you expect me to do? You're a pretty girl, what do you expect?"

In a series of tweets which have gone viral since their upload, Nathalie laid out, in no uncertain terms, exactly what she wanted from the driver in that situation.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter users have responded in their droves since Nathalie took to the website to voice her concerns, with hundreds of women sharing similar experiences online.

"If you ever see me on public transport or anywhere in London and you feel vulnerable, find a way to tell me & I promise I'll stand with you," Nathalie wrote in response to her supporters.

Remember the noughties when everything was emblazoned with a giant designer logo?

From the Juicy slogan on the arse of your velour track suit bottoms, to the diamanté Chanel studs sparkling in your earlobes (which may or may not have been fake), the noughties were a time of decadence, and the little square UGG logo on the heel of your sheepskin boots was as important as the boots themselves.

Now, the newest nail art trend is paying homage to our teenage label obsession, as wearing a designer logo on your fingertips is the latest trend in the land of nail art.

While this trend may be best left to the celebs, they're damn pretty to look at, and give us major Paris Hilton circa 2007 vibes.

From Balenciaga to Gucci to Louis Vuitton, here are a few of our favourite out-there logo nails:

Organ donation has been a tricky subject, ever since the first procedure of a kidney transplant from a deceased donor to a living being went successfully in 1962.

From the end of this year, hospitals in Ireland will assume that everyone is an organ donor, regardless of an organ donation card.

New laws are to be introduced that will presume consent for donation, unless family of the deceased or the potential donor themselves chooses to opt out.

The opt-out system rather than the opt-in system hopes to increase the number of deceased organ donors.

'We have a lot of work to do, and the area that I want to see progressed is the Human Tissue Bill,' said Health Minister Simon Harris, speaking at the opening of Organ Donation and Transplant Ireland’s new headquarters.

'I’d like to move to an opt-out system, where people have an opportunity to have given presumed consent – useless you actually opt out, it’s presumed you would like your organs to be donated'

'I’m hopeful that (legislation) will be passed by the end of the year and implemented in 2018.'

A Gardaí investigation into allegedly blasphemous comments made by Stephen Fry has been dropped after Gardaí found that there were not enough people 'outraged' by the remarks.

According to a controversial Irish law, it is blasphemous to be or say things 'grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters sacred to any religion,  thereby intentionally causing outrage among a substantial number of adherents of that religion.'

It is understood that the probe into Stephen Fry's comments on The Meaning of Life in 2015 have been dropped as Gardaí can find no injured party.

'This man was simply a witness and not an injured party,' a source told The Irish Independent

'Gardaí were unable to find a substantial number of outraged people.'

'For this reason the investigation has been concluded.'

The man who reported the blasphemy to the Gardaí told the Irish Independent: 'I did my civic duty in reporting it.'

'The guards did their duty in investigating it. I am satisfied with the result and I don't want to comment further.'

Hozier has since weighed in on the controversy, suggesting that people report his hit song Take Me To Church, as it is 'not about going to church.'

Last month, Harry Styles treated our ears with the release of his debut solo single, Sign of the Times.

The song is a huge departure from the teeny-bopper style of One Direction, and has received huge praise from fans and music critics alike.

Today, Harry finally dropped the music video, and as expected, Twitter went into meltdown.

The video is five minutes long and follows the former One Direction star as he flies over the mountains of Scotland’s Isle of Skye.

No really, he actually flies.

Is there anything that boy can't do?
