Former One Direction star, Niall Horan recently opened up about his love life (or lack there of) and denied claims that he is dating Selena Gomez's best friend, Courtney Barry.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, the Mullingar man explained how he's happy enough to stay home alone on a Saturday night.

"At the moment, I'm enjoying being 23. I only get one go at me twenties. I'd like to give it me best go,'' he said.

"I’m happy to go home alone on a Saturday night, drink and watch football."

However, Niall did reveal that he reckons he's experienced love twice before, but admits "it could have been lust."

"I think I got a type, anyway – Dark hair, dark eyes. Someone I can see as a friend."

Sound like you?

The Slow Hands singer then went on to explain his theory of ''Irish ignorance'', revealing that despite his multi-million fortune, his father still refuses to let Niall buy him a new home.

"I always say there’s ignorance and there’s Irish ignorance. It’s on a different level," he said.

"He’ll barely take a Christmas present off me. He doesn't’t want any of it. He just wants me to come visit."

When asked if he plans to return to Mullingar, Niall joked that he's too busy to permanently reside anywhere right now.

"I might as well not live anywhere – I’m busy all year."

Niall's new single, Slow Hands, hit number one on the Billboard chart earlier this month.

A man is due to be sentenced this morning after he was found guilty of the murder of ex-girlfriend, Soina Blount.

In February 2014, two months after their relationship had ended, Eric Locke lured Sonia to a Dublin hotel using a fake Facebook profile.

Locke then strangled the mother-of-one to death.

He was found guilty just four days ago after it took the jury less than one hour to reach their unanimous verdict.

During his trail, Locke admitted that he lad lured Sonia to the hotel in Tallaght under false pretences, but denied her murder.

According to his psychiatrist, Locke was suffering from a pervasive development disorder at the time, but the claim was later dismissed after the prosecution expert found no evidence to back it up.

The jury also saw saw footage of him as he fled the scene, dropping his mobile phone in a drain outside the hotel.

Sonia's family will be given the opportunity to deliver a victim impact statement before Eric Locke begins his mandatory life sentence.

Katy Perry is the latest start to pay tribute to the victims of Monday's terror attack in Manchester.

During an intimate one-off gig in London's The Water Rats pub, the singer dedicated her song, Part of Me, to the 22 people who lost their lives following the tragic event.

A visibly emotional Katy told the crowd: "This week has been really hard. It sucked. It was hard for you guys and it was hard for me because we all love music.''

''We all listen to the same music. And you think about it and think, 'That's my friend, that's my sister, that's my cousin, that's my brother.'"

''I'm going to sing this next song [Part of Me] for them. They can never take that part away from us ever. Ever."

The moving tribute comes after Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles both dedicated performances to the Manchester victims.

During a heartfelt rendition of Malibu, on The Voice US, Miley said: "I want to dedicate this song to my good friend Ariana Grande and everyone who experienced that horrific attack yesterday. Our hearts are with you."

Meanwhile, Harry spoke about the attack during a small gig in Mexico saying, ''Tonight doesn't feel like a night to celebrate.''

''Last night there was a tragedy in my hometown of Manchester. And I am left with a hole in my heart. I went to my first show in the arena and I've had some of my best experiences in Manchester.''

He added, ''I ask you to please choose love every single day.''

The Sign of The Times singer then held a minutes silence for the victims and their families.

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far and the warmest May day at Malin Head since records began .

Temperatures rose as high as 26 degrees in some areas, but unfortunately, this glorious spell we're having won't be sticking around.

Friday will be a warm day with highest temperatures of 25 degrees, but heavy thundery showers will spread over parts of the west, and there's plenty more where they came from.

Thundery rain is forecast for most of the country in Saturday morning, with fresher spells developing later in the evening. Top temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees.

Temperatures will fall slightly on Sunday and early next week, but it will should stay mostly dry with highs of 18 degrees in light southwesterly breezes.

Rain will develop along the west coast on Tuesday morning and will slowly move across the country during the day.

The rest of the week remains 'changeable' according to Met Eireann, so fingers and toes crossed for the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Fried chicken is basically one of the best comfort foods there is out there.

Our tastebuds are just tingling thinking about it.

And it turns out, the delish cripsy-ness is the way to our hearts too.

Brown Fried Chicken Wings on White Serving Paper during Daytime

Confused? So we were, but there's a pretty legit explanation for the findings.

A new dating app in the US, Hinge, surveyed 8,000 users and asked what kind of first date would lead to a second.

Of course, the most popular first date is going out for drinks, with 37 per cent saying it would lead to a second date.

However, 24 per cent claimed that if the date included fried chicken, they would definitely be up for a round two.

Trip to KFC, anyone? You might find the love of your life there.

Ed Westwick has destroyed all of our dreams of there being a Gossip Girl revival, and we'll admit, we're pretty bummed about it.

The show has been off air for the past four years, which we know isn't that long, but we feel as if we need some sort of comeback after they (SPOILER) made Dan Gossip Girl.

That can't be the end to the story, right?!

Anyway, Ed was speaking to Radio Times and said: "Nah, that's not gonna happen. I know there's a bunch of them coming back – I hear they're doing Will and Grace, they've done Gilmore Girls

"But it's such a strange thing to think about. It feels like we only just finished! And I haven't done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortably revisit it. And I did so much with that character – it's played out, man. It's done."

However, when asked if he'd sign up if Netflix paid him the right amount of money, he said: "I'll do it then."

So you know, all hope is not lost.

Greatness from Dominooo's.

Yes, it's theme tune is stuck in our heads right now, but let's be honest with ourselves, we all love a feast from Domino's every now and again.

The pizza chain suits us perfectly on hangover days, sick days and as cheat meals, however, its latest revelation has people freaking TF out.

It turns out the Domino's Garlic and Herb dip (the family size version) contains 675 calories.

Yes, we know it's the equivalent of two McDonald's cheeseburgers, but we don't order Domino's to be healthy, do we?

Plus it's family size, and meant to be shared (but we can admit that we gobble it all up by ourselves sometimes).

Domino’s told The Sun: “Our Garlic & Herb Big Dip is great for sharing with family and friends, and we recommend each party size should serve at least four people. Single size pots are also available at 169 cals each.

“We’re committed to providing transparent nutritional information on our website and via our app, to enable customers to make informed decisions.”

We'll be honest, we're not too bothered by this news… we might even order a Domino's tonight.

We love a good day out in Tayto Park, and it's looking like it could get much better.

Because imagine after a day of screaming on rollercoasters and munching at The Twisted Chip, you can just sit back and relax in a spa instead of having to drive home?!

Tayto Park has applied for planning permission to build a seven story hotel on it grounds, and it looks super slick.

A computer generated image of the planned 7 story hotel in Tayto Park.

According to a statement, the proposed hotel will have 250 bedrooms which can cater up to 1,000 guests.

As well as that, it will feature a spa, meeting rooms and a function room for parties and special occassions.

Keeping in with the park's theme, the hotel would have a wooden exterior and hold views of the Cú Cúliann Coaster .

The development of the hotel would provide 150 jobs to the area during the construction phase, and 272 full and part-time jobs once building is completed.

In an announcement which has stunned Xposé fans this afternoon, Jonathan Cheban has pulled out of his highly-publicised guest host slot on the entertainment show.

Kim Kardashian's BFF was set to host the TV3 show today and tomorrow, but according to emerging reports, that dream came to an end before it even started.

Explaining the change of plan to the press and public, Jonathan's manager said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances Jonathan has had to return to NY, we are hoping to reschedule a visit to Ireland very soon."

According to previous reports, the reality star was only dying to get his teeth into some presenting on this side of the pond.

“I’ve done lots of TV in the US and the UK but never in Ireland so I can’t wait," he gushed at the time.

Looks like he's going to have to wait a bit longer…

You take recommendations from friends, read best-seller lists and even rob a few novels from your parents' book shelf, but sometimes you're in the mood for a book that you can't really define.

A love story? Science-fiction? Murder mystery?

All of the above?

It can be super frustrating to leave empty-handed every time you venture into Easons, so that is where this niche website comes in.

Books in Black Wooden Book Shelf

Lounge Books is a innovative website which digs out "hidden gems" for you depending on your book preferences.

With "people powered" recommendations, it promises to find something for the person who doesn't really know what they want.

And with sections such as Women Authors, Diverse Voices and Book Porn, you'll probably end up spending more time on the site than reading the actual books it recommends.

The creator of the website, Sam Missingham, said: “The Lounge Books website will help you navigate the huge number of books out there, give you a few pointers, tell you about books that everybody is talking about, those winning awards and some hidden gems.

We can see ourselves taking a serious gander on this later.

As Manchester struggles to come to terms with the horror that played out on Monday night, the spirit for which the city is known has been documented far and wide in recent days.

With a distinct sense of community, an unbridled sense of determination and prevailing sense of hope, Mancunians have united together in the wake of a terrorist attack which killed and maimed dozen of its citizens at the beginning of the week.

And as hundreds gathered to remember the dead and injured today, a lone voice rang out in the moments that followed a minute's silence, and it carried the lyrics of a song written by one of Manchester's best known bands.

Those gathered swayed quietly to Don't Look Back in Anger by Oasis before, one by one, people began to chime in and another voice demanded 'Come on, sing up!"

Various recordings of the poignant moment have made their way online, and no matter which vantage point the footage was taken from, there's no denying the sense of solidarity that prevails in the northern city right now.

Take a look at this.
