Ah lads, if we didn't love her enough already.

Scarlett Moffatt, whose incredible relationships with her parents Mark and Betty on Gogglebox had us questioning our own, has revealed she gave them one serious present after making the big time.

The 26-year-old, who rose to fame simply by chilling on the couch with her mam and dad, has repaid their kindness over the years by paying off their mortgage on the house they live in in Durham.

Revealing all to her fellow I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here campmates, she said: "I paid off the mortgage on my mum and dad’s house for them. Oh it was the best."

"I just wrote them a letter and said, thanks for being mint, and sorry for leaving fake tan all over the house," she said. "Then I put a cheque in for them."

And while most of us would think Scarlett went above and beyond with that one, she says she's still got more in mind for them.

"My aim is to be able to by me mam and dad a caravan. Because they've always wanted one, but they are like £20,000, and I really want to be able to buy them one," Scarlett said.

"And that's the dream, everyone wants to be able to look after their mama and dad, like they did when they were younger."

Scarlett, a favourite with the public, is currently under scrutiny after accusations she bullying fellow campmate Martin Roberts.

The Central Bank today announced the results of a review of its mortgage lending rules… and first-time buyers will now be able to borrow any amount with a deposit of 10 percent.

Previously, new borrowers could have been approved for a mortgage with a deposit of 10 percent on mortgages up to €220,000 only.

The restrictions were brought in early last year and were designed to rectify mounting concerns about Ireland's housing market.

However the 20 percent deposit rule will still to apply to second-time buyers.

The Central Bank will also be more open about the amount that first-time buyers can borrow, relative to their income.

Five percent of the value of new mortgage loans to first-time buyers will be allowed above the 90 percent loan to value limit, and 20 percent of the value of new lending to subsequent buyers for will be allowed above the 80 percent loan to value limit.

“Over the past 18 months, the measures have helped to ensure that those who buy homes are better prepared to manage their mortgage payments in the event of a future downturn in the economy or in the housing market,” Governor Philip Lane said.

The new mortgage lending rules come into effect in January and will be reviewed annually.

When it came to fashion, the early noughties weren't exactly kind to any of us.

From teaming Ugg boots with ra-ra skirts to smothering ourselves in velour, we're all lucky we made it out alive.

And no one appears to know this more than Justin Timberlake who made the very bold decision to address his most iconic fashion disaster while appearing on an Australian talk show recently.

After being asked what he's learned from his time in the music industry, Justin didn't offer any music-related pearls of wisdom, but instead made reference to perhaps one of the most misguided fashion choices of the 21st century – the double denim.

Referring to the moment he and former girlfriend, Britney Spears, rocked a red carpet in matching ensembles, Justin said: "If you wear denim on denim, it will get documented."

It may have taken more than a decade, but it looks like the man himself is finally able to laugh about it…

Without a laborious blow-dry or fist full of crunch-inducing mousse, introducing volume to fine hair can be a challenge.

So when we heard whispers of a new foam conditioner which can be applied and rinsed out while showering, we simply had to try it.

While initially sceptical as to how much benefit could actually be derived from what could be perceived as a gimmicky product, when tested by the SHEmazing! team the Pantene Pro-V Air-Light Foam Conditioner proved itself a rare gem in a market brimming with false hope.

This unique conditioner uses tiny champagne-sized bubbles to distribute nourishing ingredients throughout the entire head.  Because its formula is weightless in nature, the Air-Light Foam will not rest heavy on thin hair therefore allowing it to appear more volumised.

What’s interesting about this product is that it is as useful to those with thicker locks as it is those with fine hair because its lightweight formation allows users to thoroughly condition their hair from root to tip without weighing down the strands or encouraging the scalp to become greasy.

Where traditional conditioners often leave the hair closest to the head soft but flat, the Pantene Air-Light Foam boosts each strand from the base while leaving it conditioned, salon smooth and, most importantly, with a desirable amount of volume throughout.

Pantene Pro-V Air-Light Foam Conditioner will be available in pharmacies nationwide from February 2017.  RRP: €5.99.

After coming to the end of a gruelling 10-month world tour, Adele has justifiably given herself props for playing a staggering 107 shows in less than a year.

"I just finished my 107 shows in 10 months. 100% live every night," she wrote on a recent Instagram post."I bloody smashed it, even if I do say so myself."

And yet, just hours after her final show of the year, Adele announced she would be playing another two dates at Wembley Stadium next summer.

Sharing a video on Twitter, Adele directed fans to her website where they could pick up tickets for her June 29 and July 1 gigs – dates which are meant to mark the 'official' end of her world tour.

The London dates which have been labelled 'The Finale' have sent her fans into a tailspin as they grappled with the notion of procuring tickets to see the world-famous singer in her hometown.

"You will have completely toured the world!" wrote one. "U r an amazing woman & how beautiful would it be to see you in your hometown!" (sic)

"How many years have I gotta wait for u? When will I see u Adele? I'll wait for whole of my life to get chance to see u…I swear." (sic)

Tickets for The Finale go on general sale on December 2 at 10am GMT.

And we are hyperventilating.

If we were to open our letterbox and find a giant spider and hundreds of her babies inside, we would likely faint with the fear.

This wasn’t the case for Australian woman Natasha Joyce, however, who – along with her nephews and young neighbours – was intrigued and excited by the discovery in her own front-garden!

Natasha, from North Bendigo, revealed that she found the mama Huntsman spider in her letterbox back in October, with her egg sac sturdily attached to one corner.

Dubbing the spider ‘Hortense, Protector of the Post’, Natasha and her two young nephews decided to welcome the creepy-crawly and her babies to the neighbourhood.

After seeking advice from Museums Victoria, the trio created a ‘nursery’ using a cardboard box and soft materials, and cautiously awaited the hatching of the eggs.

They had to be careful, though; Natasha was warned by experts that Hortense would be ‘extremely protective’ of her young and would ‘bite much more easily’.

Just a few days ago, Natasha and her nephews opened the letterbox to discover that the baby spiders had finally broken out of their egg sac.

“We weredelighted to find today that they were all safely arrived, ready to be eaten by each other and other predators. Congratulations, Hortense the Huntsman Protector of the Post!” wrote Natasha, in a video upload to YouTube.

Given how only around three of the babies will actually reach maturity, we reckon Natasha doesn’t need to worry about a home-invasion – although we’re not exactly sure that she would mind.

If you're more than a little partial to an energy drink or two, you're probably well used to hearing people tell you that you'd better off cutting down on the habit.

But if you've always found that a quick can has helped with the mid-afternoon slump, the thoughts of powering through without a caffeine hit can seem as stressful as enduring an entire Honey G concert.

Acknowledging this reliance, researcher, Erwin Johnson, has produced a break-down of our body's reaction to the consumption of an energy drink – from the first ten minutes to 24 hours later.

Within 10 minutes of chugging your can, caffeine will enter your bloodstream causing your heart rate and blood pressure to rise.

Within 45 minutes, your concentration levels will improve as caffeine levels peak, and by the hour mark, your body will have absorbed all the caffeine and your liver will then absorb the sugar.

And then come the pitfalls.

Within one hour of consumption, your body will experience a sugar crash leaving you feeling tired and lethargic.

Six hours after consuming the drink, your body will have reduced the caffeine level by just half while the following six hours will be focussed on eradicating the other half.

If you choose not to consume another drink within a 24-hour period, you will begin to experience withdrawals including headaches, constipation and irritability.

Commenting on the research, nutritionist Ella Allred explained: "Energy drinks are a bad way to get caffeine. Many people drink energy drinks every day to help them survive busy week."

"However, relying on those drinks, push our bodies to the limit," she told the Daily Star. "We still need to sleep and eat properly, but if we won’t do it on time and ignore our needs, most likely we will crash later on."

Taking issue with the criticism, Gavin Partington, British Soft Drinks Association Director General reminded the public that a reliance on energy drinks is no different to a reliance on coffee,

"In fact, this year the European Food Safety Authority reaffirmed the safety of energy drinks and their ingredients." he said. "It’s worth remembering that a 250 ml can of energy drinks contains the same amount of caffeine as a typical cup of coffee."

Irritability and constipation or falling asleep and drooling on your employer's lap – oh, what a time to be alive.

This is a no-sugar-added, delicious dessert that’s incredibly easy to make

Ingredients:
2 ripe Fyffes bananas
300g dark chocolate
175g smooth peanut butter
250ml cream
60g roasted salted peanuts, chopped

Serves: 12
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Special Info: Gluten free, Egg free, Vegetarian
Level of Difficulty: Easy

Method:

  • Coat a loaf tin with cooking spray and line with parchment paper, leaving it overhang on both long sides
  • Melt the chocolate and let it cool to room temperature
  • Meanwhile, in a food processor or using a fork, puree bananas until smooth
  • Stir the peanut butter into the banana puree. Add the cooled chocolate and stir until well-combined.
  • Whip the cream until it forms stiff peaks and gently fold it into the mix
  • Pour into the prepared tin and sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and freeze until firm, at least 3 hours, or overnight
  • Remove loaf from the tin and serve in slices.

Chef’s Tip:
Don’t over stress making the mix completely smooth at the end, as the cream will create a nice marbled effect with the chocolate mixture.

The late Karen Buckley’s father has accepted her master’s degree, which was posthumously awarded yesterday, in Glasgow.

Caledonian University, where 24-year-old nurse Karen was studying before her murder, confirmed the news in a statement this week.

A representative from the university told the Irish Examiner: “On Tuesday, November 22, during GCU’s winter graduation ceremonies, Karen Buckley was awarded a posthumous Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.”

“Her family have asked that her achievements can be celebrated privately,” the statement further read.

The family’s bravery did not go unacknowledged by others attending the ceremony, with some taking to Twitter to describe the emotional scene.

Emma Thorpe, supporting her mother at her graduation, described the moment John Buckley accepted the degree as ‘absolutely heartbreaking’.

Elsewhere, tweeter Beth McIardie admitted it was ‘so hard not to cry’ during that poignant moment of the ceremony.

Karen went missing on 11th April, during a night out with friends. Days later, after an extensive search, police confirmed that they had found the Cork nurse’s body, miles away.

Alexander Pacteau was charged with Karen’s murder shortly after, and sentenced to life in prison.

We’re thinking of the Buckley family at this particularly difficult time.

A Justin Bieber fan was left bleeding in Barcelona last night after the singer punched him in the face while travelling in a moving car.

Video footage shot outside the Spanish city’s Palau Sant Jordi stadium shows a male fan reaching through the chauffeur-driven vehicle’s open window to touch the popstar’s upper body as he greeted those waiting around the venue.

The 22-year-old star’s hand can then be seen jutting out the window before connecting with the youth’s face.

As the car rolls out of sight, the Spaniard turns toward the camera to reveal his bleeding lip.

He touches the wound a number of times with his thumb while telling other frantic fans what happened, using a punching gesture as part of the re-enactment.

According to The Mirror, the teenage fan is considering suing the Sorry hitmaker but has yet to report the incident to Spanish authorities.

And now Dee Devlin has sent their fans positively crazy with her latest Instagram snap.

Using the hashtag #WeddingOfTheYear, Dee wrote: "We finally said YES to the dress." The image itself shows Ms Devlin and a gaggle of girlfriends – including Mr McGregor's two sisters Erin and Aoife – holding bags from Cari's Closet aloft.

Understandably, a load of observers assumed that the Dublin and MMA star had decided to get hitched after close-to eight years together.

However, it transpires that it is actually Conor's sister Aoife who is walking up the aisle – with Dee acting as bridesmaid.

With their exaggerated curves and voluptuous lips, the Kardashian-Jenners are often accused of befriending Hollywood’s beloved plastic surgeons.

But while her entrepreneurial sister eventually admitted to making her famous pout “a little too big”, it seems Kendall Jenner’s journey towards cosmetic enhancement may only be beginning.

On Monday night, the model’s younger sibling uploaded a picture to Instagram in which Kendall’s lips appear far fuller than they have previously.

Fans were quick to pick up on the 21-year-old’s changed appearance and promptly concluded that she must have received lip fillers.

Many of the KUWTK star’s followers expressed disappointment over the alleged alteration and tweeted that they had hoped she would preserve her natural good looks.

A number of online commentators furthered this theory by suggesting Kendall deleted her Instagram account so she could quietly remove images which would prove her lips have changed.

However, Kylie has since taken the blame for Kendall’s new look by telling her Snapchat followers that she overlined her sister’s lips before sharing the attention grabbing post.

“You guys, Kendall let me overline her lips today with lip liner and everyone thinks she got lip injections,” confessed the cosmetics guru.  “I’m sorry Kendall.”
