A number of young people were hospitalised in Cork this morning, with psychoactive drug use as the suspected cause.

Gardaí were called to a house in the south side of Cork city during the early hours of this morning. According to reports by RTÉ today, one 18-year-old man is in a stable but critical condition, with several others also remaining at Cork University Hospital.

It's believed the group had taken 2C-P, a 'head shop drug' which is often used as an ecstasy substitute.

Cork's 96FM this morning reported that Gardaí "came upon a man lying naked on the road in the Greenmount area" before entering the house.

A statement by the HSE said the drug "is thought to have been one of the new psychoactive substances similar to those products previously sold in head shops."

The HSE added that "these drugs can be sold in tablet, powder or liquid form and are consumed at parties or clubs for their stimulant, mood altering and in some cases, aphrodisiac effect."

It goes on to warn about "possible contaminated ‘party pills"’ and advises people not to consume any unknown substances they may be offered.

Ever get told off at work for not concentrating? Do you have a daily struggle to prioritise one thing over another?

Well according to a new study, workers who regularly find it difficult to focus in the workplace may actually just be incredibly intelligent.

And why do these employees find it so difficult to concentrate? Because of all the BRILLIANT ideas they have whizzing around their brains, of course.

"Employers are always on the lookout for the brightest people available," said the vice president of Steelcase, who published the research.

"However the difficulty to withstand multiple tasks and distractions in the office affects smart people in the same way as everyone else, if not more.

"The ways in which we work are changing more rapidly than ever before and the brain is being subjected to stresses and distractions which can lead to overload and statistics show that distractions in the workplace are on the rise."

The study surveyed 10,000 workers in 17 different countries and found that the top cause of distraction in the workplace is technology.

But perhaps worst of all, a lack of concentration in the workplace can cause a worker to feel inadequate and diminish his value in the eyes of the employer.

When in fact, they could simply just be a total genius.

Yep, we'll be more than happy to pass off our procrastination as intelligence in the future.

January is already grim enough without lamenting the terrible state of your love life/your health/your bank account.

This month, we give you full permission to wrap yourself in a duvet and take permanent residence on the couch with your new boyf, Netflix.

It'll keep you company, distract you from pesky winter colds and flu and just generally be an all-round good guy.

As for finding Mr. Right, you can worry about that in February.

1. When you're dying and can't form words, it will sit in silence with you

2. Need to lie on the couch without moving a muscle? Yup, that's okay too

3. Netflix will never wake you in the middle of the night by snoring

4. Like time with a good boyfriend, four hours with your new bae will pass without you even noticing

5. Your duvet days will ALWAYS feel productive, but you don't have to make conversation with anyone

6. Netflix wouldn't DARE suggest you "change out of the pyjamas you've been wearing for the last 72 hours"

7. It doesn't nag you to get out of bed – you can stay in bed all day if you want to

8. It respects your life choices – even if those choices involve watching six episodes of Pretty Little Liars in a row

9. It'll NEVER make you watch Premier League when you really want to be watching House Of Cards

If you're looking for some Netflix inspo, our duvet day faves have to be Clueless and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, both of which are available to stream now.

Plus, there's always the entire back catalogue of House of Cards, Pretty Little Liars, Orange Is The New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to keep you occupied…

If you grew up watching the Disney channel, then you first met Selena Gomez as Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place

And you also met her TV brother, Max Russo, played by Jake T Austin.

Now, it's safe to say many of us used to dream about our on-screen crushes when we were teenagers. You know, some day you come across your fave actor on the street and they fall madly in love with you and it's all happy ever after.

But as we know, that doesn't happen in real life… Until now.

One girl, Danielle, was so obsessed with Jake that she tweeted him for SEVEN years straight, and guess what? The fangirl is now in a full-on relationship with Jake. And, he's "crazy for her."

According to Capital FM, Danielle first tweeted Jake in 2009, saying: "You're amazing; sorry just thought you should know that ."

After years of tweeting, she finally met him in 2012 in Planet Hollywood, New York, where she managed to get in a photo with him.

After that encounter, Jake started following her on Twitter and four years later, they're happily together.

Maybe we need to started tweeting Zac Efron and Harry Styles now…

If you've been swiping on Tinder and matching on POF to no avail, it could be time to call in the big guns.

By which we of course mean Ryan Tubridy. And The Late Late Show.

This February, RTÉ is bringing back the Late Late Valentine's Special, with the hope of sparking some looove amongst the audience members at Montrose.

If you're "not camera shy, up for a laugh and looking for love," you can apply for tickets to be an audience member on the February 12 show via the RTÉ website now.

And no, you can't go along as a wingman/wingwoman for your single friends – this is a call-out for people who are "definitely" single, a statement from RTÉ says.

"Last year was great fun – there was a palpable excitement in the studio," said Ryan of the decision to do a match-making show again this year.

"I’m really looking forward to some great guests and to bringing in a new batch of singles."

Who knows, you could witness first-hand another celebrity gaffe of Ronan O'Gara's "I wouldn't be nervous getting up on Jessica" proportions, as happened on last year's Valentine's Special:

Only in Ireland.

The rumour mill has gone into overdrive since Selena was seen holding hands with Samuel Krost on Sunday night.

Selena is known for being careful about showing her relationships to the public, so it's safe to say that these two are dating.

They were spotted after having a cosy dinner in Beverly Hills hotspot SLS Hotel. And it's not the first time they've been seen cuddling up together, either.

But who is Samuel Krost? Well, according to his LinkedIn page, he's a fashion executive and once worked for fashion giant, Helmut Lang.

He's also a merchandiser and marketing exec for other various fashion brands.

Samuel is close friends with Gigi and Bella Hadid too, and features in loads of their Instagram posts. Living the high life!

Let's hope Selena's new romance is here to stay after her year of Justin and Niall gossip.

While many of us consider the relationship between Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big to be a fairytale ending to Sex and the City, the series' creator would have done things a little differently.

Darren Star, American television producer behind the show, revealed he was ultimately unhappy with how the hit HBO show concluded.

"I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don't ultimately find happiness from marriage," said Darren in a recent interview for Kindle Singles.

"Not that they can't. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it. That's what had made women so attached."

Carrie met Mr. Big in the first episode of the series that ran from 1996 to 2004 and many fans felt it was a fitting conclusion that the couple ended up together.

The pair ultimately went on to marry in the first Sex and the City movie.

The 54-year-old producer revealed that the decision to have Mr. Big and Carrie end up together was made by other producers and writers on the series.

"For me, in a way – I didn't [write] those last episodes. At a certain point, you've got to let them follow their vision.

"At the end, it became a conventional romantic comedy. But unless you're there to write every episode, you're not going to get the ending you want."

We don't mind because we love a good fairytale ending, even if it's totally not real life.

They're at it again.

Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio have once again sent the rumour mill into overdrive as they were snapped together in a Parisian nightclub over the weekend.

The duo had been rumoured to be spending a lot of time together at the beginning of 2015 but representatives of the pair insisted that they were just friends.

However, a matter of months after Leonardo split from his model girlfriend, Kelly Rohrbach, he was seen to be in the same venue as the pop princess.

According to reports, Rihanna was caught giving the 41-year-old actor a kiss at the popular L'Etoile nightclub in France.

However, representatives of the Oscar-nominated star have dismissed the claims today stating that the actor was with partying with friends while on a promo trail for his latest flick the Revenant.

"Rihanna came in with Cara Delevingne. She congratulated Leo and kissed him on the cheek. They didn’t hang out there though and left separately shortly after."

"They’re just friends."

Hmm, so we have been told.

The singer and Leonardo are reported to have been enjoying each other's company in 2015 and Leonardo even won a lawsuit against a French newspaper who claimed he had gotten the singer pregnant.

Sam Faiers officially introduced her baby boy to the world yesterday via a spread in OK! magazine.

And while there's no denying the three-week old tot is a complete cutie, it's his name that's been sparking debate amongst fans – Paul Tony Faiers.

"We always wanted him to be called Paul after his dad," Sam said, in reference to her partner Paul Knightley.

The couple kept things in the family for their son's middle name too, choosing Tony after Paul Sr's brother.

Fans were quick to comment on Sam's choice of name, wondering why she had gone for something so traditional.

But showing she's too classy to be dealing with her haters, Sam kept her response to the drama simple, choosing to screengrab someone else's response instead:

"Couldn't have put this in better words myself. Thank you x," the new mum wrote on Instagram.

While she's kept relatively quiet on social media since giving birth on December 29, fans of the TOWIE star will be able to follow her journey as a new mum as part of her upcoming ITVBe show, Sam Faiers: The Baby Diaries.

The 90-minute documentary will give fans a "front row seat" as Sam and Paul adjust to life as first-time parents.

If you're a dog person, you know it's hard to keep you cool even when you see a dog walk by on the street.

So, when this woman opened up a present for her birthday and there was a PUPPY inside, it's understandable that she could just not hold her chill.

We totally get her though. Now, excuse us while we go smother our dogs with hugs and kisses.

Featuring breathtaking imagery of Ireland as well as the thoughts and words of Irish people, a new short film took the internet by storm this week.

Racking up an impressive 350,000 views over the past few days, two young Irish entrepreneurs' intention to "capture the essence" of Ireland has definitely paid off.

And this is only the tipping point for young business partners Theo Jebb and Sarah Fitzgerald, who plan to take their company Sonder Visuals international.

"Theo has been a professional wildlife camera man since he left school in 2010 and has worked on numerous award winning projects," co-founder Sarah tells SHEmazing.

"We wanted to portray Ireland like never before and include something for everyone and capture the landscape and its people as they truly are.

"We started planning the trip last June."

The pair created the stunning visuals using drone technology, visiting locations such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Phoenix Park and Newgrange.

"The visuals for this project were all shot in Ireland over 31 days spread out over three months.

We travelled through the country filming and visiting as many sites as possible."

And the pair have a pretty epic road trip ahead as they hope to map "a visual journey" creating a similar video in all 28 countries of the European Union.

"The next step is to gain financial support," says Sarah.

"We hope to release a crowd funding campaign soon and raise capital to travel to every country of the EU over the course of 12 months."

"We plan on producing a film of each country and continue to grow Sonder as a web-series with the intention to produce a film about the humans, culture and landscape of the EU that will act as a window into the present and a time capsule for the future!

"If we meet our deadlines we hope to be continuing to Wales around April."

Well, if their first video is anything to go by, we expect big things from these two in the future.
