Commuters can expect a smooth journey to work this morning as it's been confirmed that Irish Rail's strike plans have been called off.

After over 17 hours of discussion between Irish Rail and the workers unions Siptu and NBRU, the strike's cancellation was confirmed just after 4am.

If the industrial action had gone ahead, a total of 41 Dart services, 45 Dublin Commuter services, 30 Cork Commuter services, and 42 Intercity/regional services would have been stalled between the hours of 6am and 9am today.

The cancellation of the strike came as a something of a surprise, as the unions had warned last night that it was highly likely to go ahead.

A similar stoppage went ahead as planned two weeks ago, in relation to the same dispute over working hours and productivity.

Irish Rail have now confirmed that there will be full rail service around the country with "minimal disruption," although there may be slight delays as rail drivers arrive to work.

However customers should be aware that Irish Rail's journey planner and realtime website/app info may not work as normal.

Of course, even with the good news, not everyone is happy, as some commuters had arranged days off and alternative travel plans:

Hopefully this will be the last threat of strike action we have for a while.

She's always been a major hottie (and a hottie with Ryan Reynolds on her arm too), but Blake Lively has just proven she's pretty much superwoman too.

Yes, just ten months after giving birth to daughter, James, the 28-year-old actress has been spotted filming on a beach in New South Wales.

And suffice to say that her bikini body is in tip-top order.

Donning a flattering orange top and blue patterned bottoms – both from Tory Burch – Ms Lively looked totally gorgeous.

Despite previously admitting that she 'hates' the gym, Blake did admit earlier this year that she's one of the lucky ones when it comes to keeping one eye on the bathroom scales.

"Losing weight is not something I have spent much time focusing on," Blake told the Daily Mail in April. "Your body goes through a lot after pregnancy and birth, so small, gentle workouts feel better."

Ms Lively is currently in Australia for the filming of For The Shallows, which is due for release next summer.

Hey – we GET it: H&M X Balmain was kinda a big deal. It was a fact not lost on plenty of eager Irish shoppers: many of whom were queuing in the early hours to get their hands on a coveted piece from the killer collection.

The Irish arm of the site was also down earlier today, with last night's VIP launch at the retailer's flagship store on College Green being somewhat manic too.

So yup… we LOVE us some H&M X Balmain. But in other parts of the world, it was positively manic. So manic, in fact, that there were RIOTS.

Grown men and women fighting tooth and nail to get their hands on a dress, jacket, boots, or jewellery.

Here, SHEmazing! looks at the five most frightening incidents of Balmayhem:

Most folk seem to tackle their jet-lag via a mixture of lots of sleep, lots of coffee and lots of food – both taken at irregular intervals.

Not so for celebrities, however. Indeed, the likes of heiress Millie Mackintosh tackles pesky jet-lag by SLAYING it in the gym.

Yes, the 26-year-old reality TV star this afternoon posted a short video to her Instagram account, which shows her in the midst of a SERIOUS workout.

Having just returned from a weekend spent at the Melbourne Cup in Australia (as you do) Millie was evidently eager to get back into the swing of things today.

Also using the hashtag #trainlikeanangel, the wife of rapper Professor Green declared: "That is how you shake off jet lag @russellsbc style."

Russell Bateman is, of course, the hardcore trainer also responsible for the bodies of the likes of Laura Whitmore and Suki Waterhouse.

The clip has already notched up some 3,000 likes from her fans – with many also commenting on Ms Mackintosh's killer bod.

"I have those leggings… and I definitely don't look like that in them!!" laughed one.

"Jesus I'm tired just looking at that," said another, with a third offering: "Professor Green wins at punching above his weight."

Just when you thought it was safe to go to work again… you realise that the trains won't be running tomorrow morning.

Yup, a total of 41 Dart services, 45 Dublin Commuter services, 30 Cork Commuter services, and 42 Intercity/regional services will in all likelihood be cancelled (unless last-minute crises talks prove successful). Gulp!

Taking place from 6am to 9am as a result of industrial action by drivers, it's sure to cause commuters – to say the least – plenty of Friday mayhem.

Trains that leave before the planned strike at 6am will continue to travel as normal, Irish Rail has confirmed.

During a similar strike held last month, disgruntled passengers may remember that Hailo had one of its busiest mornings ever as thousands sought out alternative ways to get to work and college.

Today, the taxi company was encouraging anyone hitting the road before 9am tomorrow to plan their journey carefully.

From 7am to 10am it's also offering a helpful 20 percent off journeys – an incentive which proved hugely popular last time.

"The 20 percent discount codes will be displayed on our Facebook and Twitter profiles as soon as they are live," it added in a statement.

In addition, Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann and Luas tram services will all be operating normally – albeit at full capacity so make sure to allow extra time for our trip.

Kris Jenner might be celebrating her 60th birthday today, but her celebrations will no doubt be cut short by the news she's been slapped with a multi-million euro lawsuit.

A gaming company claim their designs and ideas for the Kim Kardashian gaming app were stolen and used without any credit.

Kung Fu Factory allege that Kris contacted them to put together a "very specific" proposal for a Kardashian-themed game, for which they included information on how the characters would appear and how the game would be played by users.

After months of radio silence, Kung Fu said they were told plans for the game were off and that the talks were "dead."

Yet in 2014, the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood gaming app was indeed launched with huge success. According to Forbes it has pulled in a record €185m in its first year alone.

Kung Fu want damages repaid and a chunk of the profits, in exchange for the ideas and research they shared with the famous family.

Speaking back in June, Kim said she was initially reluctant to launch a game, but that her husband Kanye West eventually convinced her.

"‘Kanye really talked me into doing this partnership… I thank him every day for making me do this deal," she told Mail Online.

Users of the app can create their own "aspiring celebrity" and help them rise through the ranks from Z-list to A-list by completing a series of tasks, like meeting managers, doing modelling gigs and attending parties – though there's no "make a sex tape" option…

Karl Lagarfeld recently became the newest celebrity to be added to the game, with users now able to buy Chanel-inspired clothes for their avatars.

We love rice! After all, it's cheap, it's delicious and it goes with LOADS of different dips, sauces and dishes.

However, in particular with the white variety, sadly a lot of rice isn't really healthy. That's because even a modest serving has around 200 calories in it, and most of those calories come in the form of starch.

In our bodies, starch converts to sugar, and excess sugar converts to… yup, you guessed it, FAT!

Still, one undergraduate student at the College Of Chemical Sciences in Sri Lanka has now come up with simple way to reduce the number of calories in rice by up to 50 percent – AND the technique actually adds in further health benefits too.

So what does it involve?

"What we did is cook the rice as you normally do, but when the water is boiling, before adding the raw rice, we added coconut oil – about 3 percent of the weight of the rice you're going to cook," said Sudhair James, who presented his research at the National Meeting & Exposition Of The American Chemical Society earlier this week.

"After it was ready, we let it cool in the refrigerator for about 12 hours. That's it."

So how does it work? Well, not all starches are created equal, with digestible starches generally being worse for you than resistant starches. The latter take longer for your body to process and therefore aren't converted into glucose or glycogen in the same way as their digestible counterparts.

This, in short, means fewer calories. Hurrah!

And it is possible to change the makeup of a starch – which is what the coconut oil does to rice during the cooking process.

"The oil interacts with the starch in rice and changes its architecture," said Mr James. "Chilling the rice then helps foster the conversion of starches. The result is a healthier serving, even when you heat it back up."

The calorie reduction in the dishes he looked at ranged from 10 percent to 50 percent.

And people should be able to replicate the process at home, although Mr James warns the results might vary depending on the type of rice used.

Described as "funky, warm, hipster, but also family-orientated," a brand-new bar is about to open its doors in Sydney's Dulwich Hill area.

So what's the big deal, you ask? Well, this is not any old hipster-friendly establishment, no siree.

In fact, it's a specialist NUTELLA eatery which will serve up an array of chocolatey, hazelnutty, sugary wonders.

And yes, frankly, we're already seriously considering selling a kidney and using the proceeds to hop on a 17,250km flight Down Under.

Offering "every Nutella product you can think of," the owners have already said they reckon the quirky likes of Nutella cruffins, Nutella banana bread, Nutella macarons, Nutella brownies, Nutella icecream and Nutella cheesecakes will be among their biggest sellers, although the more standard Nutella crepes, waffles, and pancakes are sure to be a hit too.

The concept has been kicked off by the same folk who run the city's popular Foodcraft Espresso And Bakery

Recently, the cafe caused an on-line storm when its €6.50-a-pop Tella Ball milkshake – a mouth-watering mix of three scoops of Nutella and vanilla ice cream topped with a Nutella-infused doughnut – went viral.

Understandably, the Tella Ball will also be available in the new cafe. For those of us not based in Sydney, SHEmazing! has rounded up the following Instagram snaps… now let's all take a sugar-infused moment to dare to dream…

At her lowest point, Megan Jayne weighed just 5st, was kept alive by a feeding tube and told she had just weeks to live.

Though she wasn't diagnosed with anorexia until the age of 14, Megan says she had self-esteem issues from as early as five years old.

These days though, she has embraced her curves and uses images of her own body to inspire others, sharing pictures with her 44k Instagram followers on a daily basis.

Megan might seem like she exudes body confidence, but she admits that even after her physical recovery she still couldn't wrap her head around the idea that curves could be beautiful.

"My weight never relapsed back down to dangerously low, but my mind never truly recovered," she says on her website, BodyPosiPanda.

"I tripled my body weight in a year, and was thrown right back into a world of diet talk and airbrushed ideals, in a newly chubby body that I was disgusted with."

Through the medium of social media though, Megan found a whole community of people who were proud of their bodies regardless of how they looked.

"Somehow I stumbled across a body positive hashtag, and saw all these people of every shape and size unapologetically loving themselves.

"Slowly, reluctantly, something dawned on me: I just could not live the rest of my life hating myself."

Now, six years on, Megan describes herself as a "recovered anorexic and recovered self-loather," and she's using her experiences to help others.

"Whatever you’ve been taught to hate about yourself, whether it’s your weight, your height, your skin colour, your gender, your age, your ability – you are more than that thing," she says.

There is now growing certainty that Metrojet's Irish-owned Airbus A321-200 was blown out of the sky by an explosive device planted in luggage.

Indeed, British prime minister David Cameron said this afternoon that it was "likely" that a bomb caused the tragedy.

Furthermore, there are huge concerns relating to airport security at the tourist hotspot of Sharm el-Sheikh – meaning all British and Irish flights to and from the region have been suspended.

The move has resulted in some 20,000 people being stranded in the region, although London has said it will begin evacuating people from tomorrow.

Some 224 people died on board the Moscow-based airline on Saturday morning.

The plane crashed in a remote mountainous part of the Sinai Peninsula 23 minutes after taking off from the resort – where temperature of 28C at this time of year make it an immensely popular winter sun destination for Irish tourists.

Following a similar announcement by Downing Street, the Irish Aviation Authority last night said it had directed "Irish airline operators not to operate to/from Sharm el‐Sheikh Airport, Egypt or in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula airspace until further notice".

Except for three Ukrainians and one Belarusian, all of those on board Flight 7K9268 were Russian. Twenty-five were children.

EmiratesLufthansa, Qatar Airways and Air France have all already stopped flying over the Peninsula, while British Airways pilots were told months ago not to fly in the area below 25,000ft because of the risk of terrorist-lead strikes.

Smartphone users have thousands of emojis at their disposal, but not one of them features a woman with curly hair.

As the original emoji keyboard was designed in Japan, it stuck with the straight hair so often seen in Asian culture. But here in Ireland (and elsewhere in the world) the majority of us have waves, if not full-on curly locks.

When beauty brand Dove got wind of this glaring gap, it decided to do something about it, to help promote the beauty of naturally curly hair.

A spokesperson for Dove's owner Unilever said the company thought it was "wrong" that curly-haired women couldn't find an emoji that looked like them, so to help it's designed the first Dove Love Your Curls Emoji Keyboard.

Research by Dove found that just 10% of women and 40% of young girls actually like their curly hair in its natural state.

But we reckon that might change when they see this epic heart-eyes emoji:

Or this kissy-face one:

Or, of course, this crying-laughing face:

The emojis come in a range of skin tones, hair colours and hair types, and the whole keyboard can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play.

Plus, if you tweet using the hashtag #LoveYourCurls, Twitter will automatically generate a curly-haired gal for you. Win!

We can hardly believe it: Kris Jenner – the world's most successful momager – today turns 60.

And suffice to say that she does NOT look like she's just hit her seventh decade.

Not only that, but none of us would know the endless wonders of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie if it wasn't for the vision and drive of their mother.

Yes, the world would certainly be a very different place without Ms Kris Jenner. And so we salute her (not to mention her oh-so fabulous wardrobe).
