We know that sometimes referring to celebrities as our significant others can just be some harmless fun, as long people are able to understand the difference between real life and not-so real life.

For one unfortunate soul though, it looks like he may just have been caught out in a blatant lie.

NBA professional Matt Barnes, a player for the Memphis Grizzlies team, was speaking with TMZ cameras when asked about his current romantic situation. Rather than opt for a blush-filled no comment, he talked himself into a bit of an awkward situation.

In a video, currently on the TMZ website, Barnes explains that he and Rihanna are in fact very close friends.

“Rihanna’s my friend right now. So we’ll see where it goes… I think it just passed the crush stage.”

In response to these claims, Rihanna, 27,  took to social media to call Matt out for his less than truthful confessions.  As it turns out, she has never even met the man.

Rihanna took a screen shot of Matt’s video and posted it to her Instagram page with a series of hashtags to detail just how far the pair are from ever being involved.

We’re not sure about you but ‘defamation of character’ is a pretty clear response to poor Matt. Lesson learned, don’t pretend to be in a relationship with Rihanna because she will shut you down, and not in a quiet fashion.

Meanwhile Hollywood Life is reporting that Rihanna’s former boyfriend Chris Brown is still not over their break up.

“He misses her. He always has. She’s a good woman and he loves her to death. He thinks she’s drop dead beautiful with a soul that only an angel could have,” an insider has said.

Apparently Chris is turning to Rihanna for support during the drama surrounding his daughter and her mom. According to sources he would love to have Rihanna join him on his tour in the future.

Ronan Keating and his model sweetheart Storm Uechtritz made things official yesterday when they tied the knot at a country ceremony in East Lothian, Scotland.

The highly anticipated wedding took place at the luxury Archerfield House hotel and golf club, just 30 minutes outside the Scottish capital of Edinburgh.

Ronan and Storm's big day was certainly a family affair, with the former Boyzone singer's three children taking centre stage for the proceedings. His daughters Missy and Ali stepped in as bridesmaids for Storm, while his 17-year-old son Jack was best man.

A star-studded cast of guests were pictured en route to the venue, including the recently single Brian McFadden and X Factor judge Dannii Minogue who brought her new man Adrian Newman as a plus one.

Also present were Ronan's former bandmates Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy, all of whom performed with Ronan later in the night.

Ronan's sister Valerie described the special day as a "happy" one for the whole Keating family, writing, "Such a happy day for our family Incredibly emotional,we <3 @StormUechtritz so happy she is joining the Keating family today @ronanofficial"

The happy couple left their stag and hen dos until the very last minute, with Storm taking her future step-daughters off to Paris over the weekend and Ronan having a golfing "Stag Day" in Stoke with a few select pals.

Storm's "Hen Day" kicked off with a champagne breakfast at luxury food emporium Fortnum and Mason in London's St Pancras station, with the gang taking the Eurostar to Paris later that morning.

His marriage to Storm will hopefully be second time lucky for Ronan, whose divorce from his wife of 12 years Yvonne was finally made official in March of this year. The singer proposed to Storm just weeks later.

"'We've been together a few years now and knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I felt it was the right time," Ronan told Hello! magazine of his decision to propose.

Wowsers. We probably didn't need confirmation that you just don't mess with Taylor Swift – but if we did, that's now happened.

And it's happened in SPECTACULAR fashion. Here's the back-story:

Earlier this evening, former One Directioner Zayn Malik shared a now deleted tweet from the @FemaleTexts account with his 15.4m followers.

The message (ouch) negatively compares one Taylor Swift to fellow pop star, Miley Cyrus, and includes a screenshot of an interview with TIME.

In the interview, Ms Swift encourages her fans to download her music from iTunes now that she's withdrawn from Spotify. 

In contrast, Ms Cyrus's quote explains that as she's already “made [her] money” she doesn’t care if “no one buys [her] album.” Then there's a description of Cyrus’s Happy Hippie Foundation, which benefits LGBT youth.

The tweet concludes: “The difference is astounding.”

Right or wrong, the sentiment is clear: multi-millionaire Taylor Swift, 25, is intent on making LOTS more money for herself – while Miley Cyrus, 22, is more concerned with using her celebrity and fortune to help others.

Understandably, it is an accusation that Tay-Tay's boyfriend wasn't about to take lying down.

"You've made your money?" he began addressing Mr Malik via the social-networking site. "Cool… fuck the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah fuck em."

A series of tweets ensued, including the line: "There's some poor fucker in a basement making your new favorite record trying to survive."

Zayn then fought back: "Ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate," he began, adding: "I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out."

The 22-year-old concluded with: "Oh and I write my own shit too dickhead."

Taylor herself has yet to get involved – although 31-year-old Calvin did appear to offer an olive branch of sorts to his rival in the end.

For now, Mr Malik has bowed out of the contest: he's giving the Scottish DJ the silent treatment.

Whatever next… Perrie Edwards throwing in her tuppence worth? Well, Little Mix did just appear on stage with Taylor in California.

Yup, it seems lines have been drawn.

The similarities between her and her older sister, Kim Kardashian, have been well documented… as has the rumour that Kim Kardashian isn't always happy with how Kylie Jenner emulates her look.

Still, the younger clan member shows no sign of putting an end of to her homage: this evening she once again is channelling a VERY Kimmy Kay vibe.

Wearing a poker-straight black wig with a blunt fringe, the 18-year-old's large brown eyes were accentuated with thick black liner.

She posted the dramatic snap to her Instagram account this evening along with the simple caption, "eyes".

And after her birthday party look largely failed to impress – perhaps Ms Jenner is eager to embrace new trends.

Whatever her motivations – it works! In fact, we reckon she looks like Hollywood screen goddess Elizabeth Taylor in the 1963 classic Cleopatra. 

Kylie has sported numerous different hair styles this year – often resorting to wigs to achieve a startling different hue or length.

We actually assumed she'd begin running out of options pretty soon… but it seems the youngest member of reality TV's First Family has plenty more surprises up her sleeve. 

Back in 2011, just as her fame really began to take off, Kim posed up for a Cleopatra-inspired shoot for the March edition of Harper's Bazaar.

Yesterday saw Galway beat Tipperary in the All-Ireland hurling semi-final, and one man was particularly happy at the end of the match. 

A video posted by Linda Cumisky shows her Dad watching the extremely tense final few minutes of the match before Shane Moloney scored a crucial point. 

Her father's reaction is extremely nervous as he holds his breath until the final whistles blows. He then can be seen jumping around the living room in celebration as this win sends Galway through to the All-Ireland final. 

If Galway go all the way this will be their first time winning the Liam McCarthy since 1988.

It's tough when it comes to choosing a name for a human being that will stick with them for the rest of their lives. So where do you turn for inspiration? Books? The Internet? Game Of Thrones? Wait, what?

Yes that's right, British parents have now began looking to Game of Thrones for their inspiration when naming their newborns. 

According to the Office for National Statistics in England, several of the character names from Game of Thrones have been registered to babies since the release of the television series first aired in 2011.

We're really not sure how we feel about all of this. 

For the boys, 17 kids have been named Tyrion, which isn't too bad because Tyrion is definitely one of the most likeable characters and mainly because he's still alive five seasons on. 

However, some of the more unfortunate babies got the name Theon. Eek! (Or should we Reek)

The girls got even more character names, with Khaleesi being very popular as 53 babies are named after the mother of dragons. 

Arya however was the most popular GOT female baby name of all with a huge 244 babies being named after the Stark girl. 

Brienne was a new entry with 4 infants being named after the knight recently. 

Other fictional characters as also influencing the name choosing process as Anna and Elsa ranked hugely popular for girls.

An Australian comedian has decided to recreate some celebrities most liked Instagram photos and it has gained her some serious popularity. 

Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Kylie Jenner were all targeted in these funny pictures as Celeste Barber depicted these sexy poses in a more light-hearted way. 

It seems the comedian is a bit fed up with celebrities and their social media posts as she is now using her own social media to recreate them and attempts to give celebrity obsessed fans a reality check.

Air-drying your hair is SO alluring. All you have to do is grab a towel, give your hair a little, gentle rub and you are out the door. Easy!

Yes, easy but NOT very stylish. After an hour it turns into a frizzy, limp mess with fly-aways and knots all over the place.

But don't give up, you can still have them extra few minutes of sleep in the morning if you use these tips.

 

1. Not all towels are great for drying your hair. As it turns out, the fibres in most bath towels can leave your hair frizzy and what's worse is that when you wrap it all up, it can pull and break your hair. Using a microfibre towel can cut the drying time in half and you will still have big, bouncy locks!

 

2. For best results when combing your hair while still wet, use a wide-tooth comb instead of a heavy-bristled one. This way the comb will distribute your locks evenly without interfering with your hairs natural groove. 

 

3. To make the air-drying experience even quicker, use a detangle spray. The spray will have a hydrating formula which will leave your hair knot free while also minimising frizz. 

 

4. If you want that beach babe look but have no time to curl or wave your hair, the air-drying technique is your best bet. All you need to do is put in some sea salt spray and it will add a hell of a lot of texture to your tresses. It also dries up oil like dry shampoo! Win-win situation here. 

 

5. if you're a night-time washer, there are so many options for you. Putting your hair in buns, twists or plaits will give your hair some amazing waves without all the timely styling of a hot tool.

Co. Louth fitness guru, Laura Armada-Buch, is launching a new range of gym-gear called Fit Is An Attitude this week. 

Born in Spain, she has been based in Ireland for years having studied here back in the Nineties – eventually marrying an Irish guy. So while she's practically a Louth-native at this stage, we love though that she's bringing Mediterranean warmth to her pieces.

Laura says she wanted to ensure that woman can FINALLY look good in gym gear – which for her means no nasty bulges and lumps and bumps.

In fact, the entrepreneur first came up with the idea for her collection a number of years ago as she constantly heard women in the gym complaining about ill-fitting, uncomfortable and heavy leggings.

Fast forward to 2015, and these items definitely flatten and shape your legs and bum while also being thick enough to hide the outline of underwear. They are also breathable, however, which means they're seriously comfortable. Phew! Meanwhile, the jazzy patterns will definitely spice up your gym game.  

According to Laura: “Fit Is An Attitude is filling a niche. We’re providing premium quality leggings which are comfortable, non-see through and breathable. 

"They also stay up as you squat, which is a huge bonus. As well as looking great, they make you look good as they flatten the tummy and skim the love-handle areas." 

The launch of the new brand is set to take place on August 21 in Laura's gym, Labfitness, in Drogheda.

It will be hosted by TV3’s Deric Hartigan, who is also well-known for participating in triathlons all over the country.

We're not going to ask you if you're familiar with Emily Ratajkowski (we assume you don't live under a rock) – because you are.

However, right now there's no denying that the 24-year-old model is enjoying something of a career high. In short, she is EVERYWHERE.

She first became known for her role in Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines video – and proved she was no one-hit wonder when she was cast as Andie in the movie thriller Gone Girl, which was released last year.

Then this year, she added Entourage to her credentials. Right now she's touring the world as she promotes her new movie, We Are Your Friends in which she stars alongside Zac Efron. And they could not make a hotter duo if they tried (PLEASE become a couple!).

Indeed, gracing the red carpet recently alongside her leading man, Emily wore a blue and black fitted dress with a slit up the front and black strap heels. She styled her hair up in an effortless ponytail which made the whole look come together perfectly.

And though the promotional tour for her new movie is going down a storm, she has said that is it hard for her to find a good role as producers and directors often call her 'too pretty'. 

She said: ''I have some serious criteria for what I'm looking for in a role. The ones that I really want have to be a really interesting script and a story and usually the girl is ugly.''

The US model and actress – who spent her summers in Cork as a child with her mother's family – hopes that things will change in the future. 

''So I'm taking a long and, I hope, high road of basically waiting for the parts that I'm most excited about, which can be really annoying".

Yep you read that right, apparently Peeing in the shower may be the way to you achieving better sex!

According to Gwyneth Paltrow's website, Goop, women who pee in the shower may be setting themselves up to have better sex. 

We know it sounds a bit mad, but apparently this is one of the best ways to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. 

It is important to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles as they support organs like your bladder and your uterus and having a weak pelvic floor may lead to you accidentally wee-ing a bit when you cough or sneeze. 

A stronger pelvic floor is also linked to an improvement in your sex life. Having strong pelvic muscles can increase feelings of sexual arousal and reduce any pain you may have during sex. 

On the website they explained just how to make these muscles stronger in the shower: "Try peeing in the shower squatting down. When you squat to pee as opposed to sitting up straight on the toilet, you automatically engage your pelvic floor and it naturally stretches and tones."

According to the website, it's all in the squatting for seeing any improvements. "Getting in the habit of deep squatting (envision going to the bathroom in the woods) will actually help create proper alignment in the pelvic, raise pelvic awareness and help lengthen an 'uptight' pelvic floor. 

So if you're willing to go the extra mile for great sex, peeing in the shower might be the way to go!
