When three megastars from the world of pop-music get together for a little down-time – they're always going to attract plenty of attention.

However, a newly-posted video of Niall Horan, 21, Cody Simpson, 18 and Justin Bieber, 21, is garnering comment for all the wrong reasons: namely because it shows what seems to be hard drug paraphernalia mere metres away from the singers.

In a video clip taken yesterday and later posted to Mr Simpson's Snapchat account, the young men can be see singing Home To Mama. Also visible is a yellow glass pipe seen resting on a nearby coffee table.

Similar pipes are commonly used to smoke crystal meth, although, there is no suggest that the singers themselves were using drugs of any sort.

The stars' night had begun with Niall and Justin heading out in LA – even obliging star-struck fans with selfies – before later syncing up with Cody.

Indeed, Mr Bieber and the Mullingar-man have been close for quite some time; first hanging out together after the VMAs in 2012.

The Canadian even met Niall before he found global fame: when Justin appeared on the X Factor back in 2010 to perform a mash of Baby and Somebody To Love, he remained backstage to meet the contestants – including Mr Horan.

Niall is, of course, currently on One Direction’s On The Road Again tour, but he’s still making time to go on lunch dates – namely hitting Fig & Olive on Melrose Avenue with none other than Justin’s ex, Selena Gomez, 22.

Interestingly, just a day previously, Mr Bieber himself had taken his former love out on a date.

Still, it's good to see there’s no blood between the boys now.

And besides, it appears that Niall might be distracted by another lovely lady: he was spotted with his arms around a blonde woman outside posh Japanese restaurant Nobu in Malibu last week.

He’s also been consistently liked to the diva-like Ariana Grande for months, despite both parties claiming that they’re “just friends”.

Meanwhile, early in 2014, Justin Bieber's Calabasas mansion was raided by police. TMZ subsequently reported that the property, which was a year ago sold to Khloe Kardashian for €6.65m, was littered with drugs, and drug paraphernalia.

However, while Justin himself was never charged in connection with the incident, his friend, Lil Za, was caught red-handed with ecstasy and the pain-killer oxycodone.

There are little quirks that we all have but that we only really seem to notice when we’re riding around on public transport.

There really is nothing quite like the confused look of a stranger staring at you to make you realise that you have been humming out loud with your earphones in or looking like you’re talking to yourself as you play out whatever imaginary conversation you are having in your head.

But, the good news? We all do it! Well… Almost all at least.

Dublin Bus have completed a survey where they found out just what is really going with their customers when they’re riding around on the buses.

As most of us leave things till the last minute, it’s not surprising that 67 percent of commuters use their travel time to finish off schoolwork and work. For the early risers, over 12 percent use the bus to have an extra snooze before they begin their day.

We may not even realise we’re doing it, but most of us do give the people boarding the bus a courtesy glance which has led to 23 percent of people saying hello to someone they don’t know.

Meanwhile, 21 percent of people have pretended to use their phone or some form of device to avoid seeing someone so they don’t have to have to make awkward conversation.

Ireland is proven to be as flirty as ever with 23 percent of commuters fancying someone on their bus while 15 percent of people have actually gotten off at the WRONG stop just to keep a certain conversation going!

So, whether you want to get your homework done quickly or find the love of your life, it looks as if it’s all possible from the comfort of our very own Dublin Bus.

Taylor Swift is a big ol' romantic, and she's not going to let us forget that any time soon.

The singer revealed over the weekend that she credits one thing in particular with bringing her and Calvin Harris together… a "magical spell" cast by none other than Lady Gaga. We kid you not.

Taylor's admission came when a fan tweeted to lament about his own love life, writing, "I pride myself on still thinking love can be like a romantic comedy but sometimes I just think I'm behind and just won't catch up."

Never one to let a fan get down on themselves, Taylor responded a few hours later and referenced a message she'd gotten from Lady Gaga a few months back.

"Go read Gaga's tweet that she sent me a few months ago. It's good love luck. Because it's not a tweet. It's a magical spell," she wrote.

The tweet in question, sent back in March, came after news of Gaga's engagement to Taylor Kinney hit the media. "Is it just me or is Lady Gaga, like, fully LIVING right now?" wrote T-Swift at the time. Gaga then responded by calling Taylor a "a sweetheart" and adding, "Your prince charming will come!"

Just a couple of weeks later, Taylor's budding romance with Scottish DJ Calvin became official when he flew her out to Las Vegas in a private jet to watch him perform. Yup, that spell worked. Very well indeed.

Gaga continued the good karma flow over the weekend when she took to Twitter again to tell Taylor, "I only cast happy spells! Unless there's bad blood. I have a separate cauldron for that. Happy for u."

Too cute.

A new video has been released of the MH17 plane crash.

The video was taken by a traumatised couple who can be seen driving down the road witnessing the wreckage as bodies fall from the sky.

The woman recording the scene on her phone is visibly distressed and she is so disturbed by seeing people’s bodies in the wreckage that she insists they drive away.

The release of the video comes one year after the Malaysian Airlines plane was shot down over conflict Ukrainian land.

At one point the man can be heard saying, “Don’t look there, what is all that? A woman was flying or what, I don’t get it.”

Pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine have offered to help the victims’ families return to the area if they so wish to pay their respects.

“We, of course, are ready to provide all possible assistance for relatives who want to come to honour the memory of the loved ones who died,” said Alexander Kofman, the self-declared foreign minister of Donetsk People’s Republic.

However, many family members have refused to visit the area. Although the region is legally part of Ukraine, it is currently controlled by pro-Russian separatists whom many believe are responsible for shooting down the plane.

Militants deny any responsibility. A final report from the ongoing investigation is due in October.

With the first-round auditions of The X Factor kicking off earlier this month, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been back in the spotlight on an almost daily basis, and one thing fans have been quick to notice is her noticeably thinner frame.

The former Girls Aloud singer has always been relatively slim, especially over the last four or five years, but when she stepped out in a tiny crop top and palazzo pants combo last week in Manchester, her dramatically smaller waist and thinner arms were on full display. Cheryl has already defended her weight loss on social media on two separate occasions over the last two weeks, and now her close friend and fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell has spoken out too.

Speaking to The Sun over the weekend, Simon said that Cheryl "eats like a horse" and that her weight loss has not been intentional. "This is not someone who's trying to make herself thin," he explained.

"I think she did pick up a bug and I think the way she's approaching what was addressed about her weight in a very open way – by saying she is thin and trying to put on weight – I don't think she would have done that two years ago."

Taking to Twitter two weeks ago, Cheryl hit back at critics of her weight, saying, "You have no idea what I have been through. Just losing my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that. Not that I am [too thin] or should justify myself to anyone."

Simon even insisted that Cheryl has the same appetite as he does, admitting they went on a fast food hunt around Manchester together last week. "For some reason we wanted a Wimpy rather than a McDonalds. We couldn't find one in the end but we found another burger shop and she had the same as me," he told the newspaper.

Speaking to reporters at the auditions last week, Cheryl herself said she was "eating lots" to help her regain some of the weight she had lost.

Helen Pearson was caught three times over the legal alcohol limit when she was pulled over for drink driving on a busy motorway.

The 55-year-old actress who is most popular as Frankie Osborne on Hollyoaks pled guilty to the charges. She was also found to be driving without insurance.

Helen, who has also appeared on Emmerdale and EastEnders was given a 26-month ban from driving as well as having to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.

Ms Pearson has also been fined €720 for the insurance offence, €122 for costs, €215 for court criminal charges and €86 as a victim surcharge.

This is the second incident of high drama for the show in two weeks as it was recently announced that Stephanie Davis was being fired from Hollyoaks. While the reason behind her departure is not totally clear, it has been reported that she was causing trouble on set for months before she was let go.

Although, Ms Davis tweeted saying, “I have no problems don’t believe everything you read. I’m staying quiet and rising above it. I know what’s true and what’s not. I’m all good xx.”

Maroon 5 have some explaining to do after their recent Twitter mishap.

The group were due to play two dates in China this September, and over the weekend it was announced the gigs would no longer be going ahead. The rumoured reason? A tweet posted by Maroon 5 keyboardist Jesse Carmichael about partying with the Dalai Lama.

The musician tweeted on July 6 to say he had "sang happy birthday to his holiness," something which didn't go down to well with the band's Chinese fans, due to the country's tumultuous relationship with the Dalai Lama.

The Tibetan Buddhist monk was born in China but has lived in exile in India for the last 56 years.

No official explanation has been given for the cancellation of the two concerts in Beijing and Shanghai, but  the BBC reports that the (now-deleted) tweet not only angered fans but the authorities too. The reaction to the concert's cancellation has been mixed on the Chinese social network Weibo, a Twitter/Facebook style site that is huge among Chinese young adults and teens.

"Musicians should stick to music and do their thing. Why bother with politics?" one commenter wrote, according to reports from China. "Does attending a friend's birthday party equal agreeing with his political views?" wrote another.

Maroon 5 are not the only musicians to have been the subject of strife when it came to performing in China. Oasis were apparently forced to cancel dates in China after Noel Gallagher gave his support to a Free Tibet concert in New York, while Linkin Park were also banned from the country after being photographed with the Dalai Lama in Los Angeles.

Let's hope no other concerts on the lads' tour are affected.

It is the video that everyone is talking about: surfer Mick Fanning filmed fighting off a shark attack in the middle of a competition in South Africa.

The 34-year-old only noticed the animal at the last moment; as terrified spectators looked on from the beach, Mick attempted to paddle away from the fish – only to be dragged off his board.

Mr Fanning was understandably shaken following the incident, which took place over the weekend. "I just had this instinct that something was behind me," he said afterwards. "And then all of a sudden, I felt like I started getting pulled under water.

"Then the [shark] came up, and I was on my board and it was like right there, and I saw the whole thing thrashing around."

He added: "I was getting dragged under by my leg [rope], and then I felt like it kicked me off, but it was still there, and I was still attached to my board. I felt like it was dragging me under water, and then my leg rope broke, and I started swimming and screaming."

The New South Wales native also explained that he punched the fish in the back in self-defence – an action which might well have saved his life.

The competition was subsequently called off – with Mick and his rival Julian Wilson (who had been battling it out for first place) agreeing to share the prize money.

Here, we bring you everything you need to know about Mick Fanning…

1) Michael Eugene Fanning was born in New South Wales on June 13 1981 – but his parents both hail from Ireland. His dad, John, is originally from Malin Head; he left for Australia in 1970.

2) His nickname is White Lightning – and he is a three-times world champion. He was just four when he first took to the waves on a board.

3) He is the youngest of five siblings, and Mick and his brother Sean developed a love for surfing together. Tragically, Sean was killed aged 20 in a car accident in 1998.

Mick now has a tattoo dedicated to his late brother, along with another inking of the Fanning family crest, on his inner left arm. After the weekend's incident in South Africa, his mother, Liz, said she believed Sean was looking out for Mick.

4) Mr Fanning has been married to model Karissa Dalton, 31, for seven years. They started dating more than a decade ago and were engaged on October 17, 2006 when he proposed with a square diamond solitaire ring set in white gold.

He describes Karissa saying 'yes,' as the best moment of his life. They married on March 15, 2008 in Queensland. She now works as an events stylist and planner and the couple share a love of dogs: they currently own a chocolate Lab, Kona, and a black Lab cross, Harper.

5) He trains hard out of the water too – regularly hitting the gym and working up a sweat. "I like being in shape," he's said previously, adding: "I like being able to eliminate my doubts by trusting that my body and mind are up to the challenge.

"If I do lose a heat, I don’t like wondering whether I could have done more to get the result I wanted. That’s why I train."

6) Mick is passionate about protecting the ocean environment – and thinks all surfers should strive to do the same.

7) He badly tore his hamstring in the early stages of his career back in 2004. He subsequently had to have it surgically repaired, but Mick bounced back to become one of the world's greatest surfers.

8) He seriously consider retiring at the end of 2011. "I was over it. I was truly over it. I had injuries and I had a lot on my mind that year," he explained. "It was a tough year personally."

However, after taking a time-out and surfing less regularly, he reignited his love for the sport – and found he couldn't stay away for long.

Irish soccer player James McClean sparked anger when he turned his back on the British national anthem during West Brom’s pre-season friendly against Charleston Battery in the US.

The 26-year-old player was seen turning away from the St George flag as he stood beside his teammates, all of whom were facing it.

This is by no means the first time that the Derry-man has behaved in a politically motivated and controversial way.

Last year, he refused to wear a poppy on his jersey in the days leading up to Remembrance Sunday, the day traditionally celebrated by British people to commemorate British and Commonwealth soldiers who fought in the second world war and later conflicts.

Mr McClean refused to wear the poppy saying that it would have been disrespectful to the “innocent people who lost their lives in the Troubles.”

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has reportedly warned his player against this kind of behaviour.

Twitter fans have responded very unkindly to the manoeuver with some labelling him “scum”. Northern Irish MP Gregory Campbell said that “he should reconsider who his paymasters are or move elsewhere so there isn’t a problem.”

James responded to his criticism by tweeting “I don’t need to say anything or will I either.”

In the space of a single weekend Paul Dunne has managed to become a household name in Ireland, and undoubtedly around the golfing world.

But just exactly who is this mystery man who has experienced a meteoric rise to fame?

Here is what we know so far.

Paul Dunne is a 22-year-old Irish amateur golfer from Greystones, County Wicklow.

He is the only amateur golfer that qualified to play in this year’s widely renowned Open Championship in St Andrews golf course in Scotland.

Mr Dunne is a past pupil of Blackrock College. He also played college golf at the University of Alabama where he obtained a degree in business finance.

The rising star actually qualified for the 2014 Open but was knocked out after his two opening rounds.

Now, he currently sits amongst the best players in the world at the top of leader board.

The Open will finish today and although Paul is in the lead, bookmakers are sceptical that he can pull off the win as he is closely followed by golfing heavyweights including Jordan Speith, Jason Day, Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott.

If Paul does win today, he will be the first amateur to win the Open in 85 years. But unfortunately there is a downside. If Mr Dunne secures the win he won't get to take home the €1.8m prize money because of a rule that states amateurs who win don't get to keep the cash.

But with the his new found success and an inevitable flurry of endorsement deals, we think he'll manage just fine!

A young man aged 21 died in her pool over the weekend.

And while the exact details surrounding the tragedy remain unknown, Demi Moore and her family were not at their Beverly Hills home at the time.

Now, the 52-year-old actress has responded with a statement.

Daughter Tallulah Willis in the family pool recently

Issued to PEOPLE, it reads: “I am in absolute shock.

"I was out of the country travelling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got this devastating news.

"The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man's family and friends," she continued. "I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time."

TMZ first broke the story, and the Los Angeles Times now says that police have identified the deceased as LA-native Edenilson Steven Valle.

Neighbours in the upmarket area also apparently told TMZ that pool-parties have been regularly hosted at the house by Ms Moore’s three children: Rumer, 26, Scout, 24, and Tallulah, 21, whose father is the actor Bruce Willis.

The younger two sisters are believed to be in New York at the moment, while Rumer has been taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, and was seen in LAX on Friday.

Posted on Instagram earlier this month, Tallulah shared a late-night snap showing a crowded swimming filled with guests and inflatable toys.

"This picture doesn't do justice to the glory that was our pool party last night," she wrote at the time.

The Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE that the dead man had attended a small gathering of just five or six, and that they do not suspect foul play. It is believed the soiree was held by Demi's assistant.

It seems that drowning is the cause of death, though a post-mortem is being carried out shortly to confirm this.

Friends and family report that Mr Valle did not know how to swim. He was found floating in the deep end and emergency services suspect that he had been in the water about ten to 15 minutes.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 5.17am on Sunday, but the young man was sadly pronounced dead on the scene.

Louis Tomlinson’s ex-girlfriend Eleanor Calder has been keeping pretty quiet on the social media front ever since the news broke last week that Louis is an expectant father.

The stunning 23-year-old model was travelling around America with friends and she has just returned home and posted a photo of her and her adorable dog, captioning it: “Missed my baby.”

Ms Calder was said to be devastated at the news of Briana Jungwirth’s pregnancy, given that her and Louis only split up two months previously after four years of dating.

According to HollywoodLife.com Eleanor was “sickened” and “heart-broken” when she heard the news. It was also reportedly Louis’ mum who broke the news to her, as they still remain close.

With her 23rd birthday just last week, it was also reported that Louis sent his ex some really sweet gifts. A source claims that he sent her 23 sunflowers, 23 white roses and a stuffed elephant teddy with a happy birthday note in it.

The source has said that “he’s been telling Eleanor that no one can compare to her. Louis feels like he let Eleanor down and for that he’s really sorry.”
