It has been a sad day for losing legends; first it was reported that Tony Fenton had passed away, now it is breaking that Terry Pratchett has died.

The author, whose popular Discworld series sold millions worldwide has been suffering from Alzheimer’s for the last eight years.

Terry’s passing was confirmed by Transworld Publishers MD, Larry Finlay who said: “My sympathies go out to Terry’s wife Lyn, their daughter Rihanna, to his close friend Rob Wilkins and to all those close to him. Terry passed away in his home, with his cat sleeping on his bed surrounded by his family on 12th March 2015."

"Diagnosed with PCA[1] in 2007, he battled the progressive disease with his trademark determination and creativity, and continued to write. He completed his last book, a new Discworld novel, in the summer of 2014, before succumbing to the final stages of the disease.”

Terry's death was also reported on his Twitter page: "Terry took Death's arm and followed him through the doors and on to the black desert under the endless night."

Our thoughts go out to his friends and family at this tragic time.

While shops may be brimming with flowers, chocolates and cards, not everyone is in a position to drop money on their mum this Mother’s Day.

If you’re skint, it doesn’t mean all you can do is make your mum a card (although it’s a nice idea) there are also some other things you could do…

Here are some things you can do for your mum this Mother’s Day that won’t cost you a penny (well, maybe about 30c..):

1. Breakfast in bed
Major cliché – but for a reason. No coconut flour pancakes with an acai and kale smoothie here – that stuff costs. Keep it simple with tea and buttery toast and we reckon your mum will wake up with a smile on her face.

2. Walk/hike/cycle
Whatever your mum’s preferred method of exercise, why not offer to join in with her? A lovely walk in the woods or a hike somewhere will lead to some very beautiful mum-daughter selfies when you reach the peak!

3. Movie day/night
Grab blankets, popcorn and a rake load of mum-daughter friendly movies such as Now and Then, Stepmom and Fried Green Tomatoes. Light the fire and snuggle up for a movie marathon!

4. Clean
If you live at home you should be pitching in on this anyway but there’s no doubt it would take a load off your mum’s mind if you did a good spring-clean of the kitchen. Why not pick some flowers from the garden to surprise her with too? Just make sure they’re not her award-winning roses…

5. Write her a letter
Handwritten letters are underrated these days. Getting one is a serious novelty, especially if you live far away. Write your mum a letter, try to find news you haven’t told her over the phone yet, and remind her of all the amazing reasons she’s the best mum in the world. We promise she’ll treasure it and all it will cost you is the stamp.

Kim Kardashian wowed the media last week when she stepped out in Paris with a brand new look.

But now there are rumours her bleached platinum locks could actually be a wig, to save Kim's natural hair from lasting bleach damage.

Given that Kim kas always favoured her natural dark brown colour, we doubt she'll want to stay blonde forever, but such a large amount of bleach could leave her locks brittle and dry.

An insider close to Kim's stylists claims the new 'do is nothing more a wig – but if her new style is in fact a fake, it's a VERY good fake, thanks to Kim's Glam Squad.

"The first top quarter of her hair in the front is bleached, but the rest isn’t,” the insider told RadarOnline. “It’s bleached on the top and sides – and the rest is a wig.”

Wait… what?! We're confused as to how this could work but apparently Kim wouldn't be the first celebrity to save her natural hair by using a wig.

"It’s a trick when talent doesn’t want to ruin their whole head of hair…  It’s parted perfectly and at different lengths and you always see the front of her head so it looks like it’s all normal, but it’s trickery,” said the source.

“The rest of her hair is still brown. Just watch, you’ll see her go back to brunette like it’s no problem at all complete with healthy, shiny hair," they added.

At some angles we can see how this could be true but from others, like this one, it's harder to figure out:

It does seem far-fetched, but we wouldn't put it past Mrs. Kardashian-West!

In today's world, we are met daily – if not hourly – with sad, tragic stories from around the world. 

Every now and then, it's important to remind ourselves that there IS good in the world – which is why we just love this video. 

An advert for Samsung sees an entire town in Turkey taking the time to learn sign language so they can show hearing-impaired Muharram what it is like to be in a world with no barriers. 

His reaction is bemusement and when he learns what has really happened, he is so touched and is brought to tears – as were we if we are being honest! 

Just remember – there is love out there!

TOWIE is going to be down yet another cast member!

Charlie Sims only just recently returned to the Essex-based reality show for another series but he has just announced he's quitting with a pretty sensational rant on Twitter.

It also seems he may have split from his girlfriend Ferne McCann, as he spoke about losing two people he loved "dearly" to the show and slated Ferne and Chloe for choosing the show over him. 

"So sad to not loose one.. But two people you love dearly to a TV show. Everyone can point the finger at me.. But I have morals. And dignity. And some sort of self respect. I wish @Chloe_Sims and @fernemccann the best with their lives. But always live knowing you chose the show..

Speaking about his decision to quit, Charlie wrote: "And finally to the @OnlyWayIsEssex .. I won't be taking part anymore. It's Time to grow up and move on. Wish everyone the best on the show! Stay true to who you are. Today I became me the real Charlie sims.. And so another chapter begins"

Wow! 

Charlie's sister Chloe says he hasn't spoke to her in five months, Heat magazine is reporting. It's thought Charlie's dramatic exit could be due to the constant feuding between her and Ferne.

Some very sad news from the world of Irish radio today as it's been confirmed that host Tony Fenton has passed away aged 53.

Tony had been battling prostate cancer for quite some time but he was due to return to his Today FM show later this year.

Last March, Tony was given the all-clear but unfortunately his cancer returned just a few months later.

Dan Osborne's recent arrest scandal doesn't look set to die down anytime soon.

The TOWIE star just welcomed a baby girl with his  girlfriend, actress Jacqueline Jossa, but he was also recently put under police investigation after shocking audio footage was leaked of him threatening his ex, Megan Tomlin.

Now Dan's family's opinion on the matter has come out – and it's not pretty.

Dan's father Jim Osborne is said to have called Megan, the mother of Dan's son Teddy, a "tramp" and "one hundred per cent scum."

In the now-deleted Facebook post, Jim brands Megan as "scum," saying, "Pure 100% scum of the earth. Tramp, great role model… Nasty, horrible little people who think they are clever trying to use violence on a good man, tut tut, you should be ashamed of yourself."

The revelation comes just days after Dan made a heartfelt apology about the audio leak, saying he was "truly sorry to anyone who was offended by what they heard" and that he was "taking steps to resolve" his family situation "to achieve the best outcome for my son."

No charges were made regarding the audio, in which Dan reportedly threatened to stab Megan if she slept with another man and told her, "Go f**k yourself." However Megan's name has been placed on a domestic violence list meaning any calls to police from her address will be given high priority.

Could this be the most gorgeous family we've ever seen?!

Una Foden from the Saturdays welcomed her second child last month, a little boy named Tadhg.

Some professional photos of Una's new arrival  were alredy shared in a recent issue of Hello! as part of a spread featuring Una, her husband Ben and daughter Aoife Belle.

However the singer has now shared some candid snaps of little Tadhg being cuddled at home, and it's clear he's inherited his parents good looks! Last night Una posted this beautiful snap of Ben cradling his son, with the caption, "my heart could burst with how in love I am x"

She also shared a sweet picture of Tadhg on his own with the caption, "#Tadhg 5 weeks old". We can't get over his big brown eyes… what a beaut!

It's not just Una and Ben who are enjoying their new arrival – little Aoife Belle, who turns three tomorrow, is already settling into the role of big sister:

Jaime King might be feeling a bit morto today!

The model and actress, who is currently expecting her second child with her husband Kyle Newman, got very angry on Instagram last night… but it was all down to a mix-up about the word "ho."

All the drama kicked off when Jaime posted a picture of a bottle of Fiji water, the celebrity favourite, reminding pregnant women to keep hydrated.

A commenter named Jessica took issue with the picture of the high-priced bottled water, writing, "I'm sure the people of fiji would like fiji water too but unfortunately they can't have any because some big business decided that they now own the water in fiji. But hey ho, keep paying top dollar for those bottles of water, as long as oppression isn't on your door step, am i right?"

Jaime immediately took issue with the use of the word "ho" and replied to the comment with an EPIC rant, saying, "Dear Jessica- an open letter to your open assault. Apparently, I am a ho. Oppression is not at my doorstep according to this you. (Ironically, I grew up with my father taking care of the tenements and section 8 housing, collecting quarters out of washing machines and cleaning broken toilets) there are many forms of oppression. Physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and beyond."

The rant continued by telling Jessica to "take responsibility" for her words, with Jaime saying the comment deserved "instant karma."

However, as many of the model's other followers pointed out, it's highly likely Jessica meant "hey ho" as an informal, non-offensive greeting. 

"'Hey ho' is a British phrase to say like 'Ah well' @jaime_king she wasn't calling you a ho," wrote one follower. "I know it doesn't make her post any less ignorant. Just so you know it wasn't as mean/personal as it probably came across xo."

Jaime then quickly deleted the entire post to avoid any further confusion, and took to Twitter to express a semi-apology:

First an "accidental" racist tweet, and now a seriously obvious Photoshop fail… Lindsay Lohan needs to step away from her smartphone!

The actress is in Paris at the moment, where she took in one of Kanye West's concerts earlier this week.

Last night she posted a "casual" photo of her posing in a black leotard, taken from her hotel room at The Plaza Athenee.

The photo, in which Lindsay's feet are cropped out, was captioned, "My feet look red lol- had to take that out. Only real red is my hair."

It wasn't her missing feet that were the issue though – what most followers instantly spotted was that the white doorframe behind Lindsay was completely distorted – a telltale sign she had Photoshopped the image to make her bum appear more pert or even curvier.

Lindsay has been accused of editing her images before, but last's night post was definitely one of the more obvious attempts.

Commenters were quick to point out the rookie mistake, with one writing, "Mmm nice bent door!! Photoshop galore!" and another saying, "worst photoshop ever but I mean she looks cute."

The post is still online after 8 hours, so either Lindsay hasn't read the comments yet or she just doesn't care. We're guessing it's the latter!

It has been an embarrassing couple of weeks for the actress – aside from her social media fails, she is also required to re-do an additional 125 hours of community service for her 2012 reckless driving case, after her lawyers originally submitted her hours on stage in West End show Speed the Plow and her meet-and-greets with fans as community service work.

Now we’ve seen a lot of odd make-up trends in our days, but making yourself look ill is definitely one we have yet to encounter…until now!

The trend, known as ‘me no shita chiiku’ is really popular in Japan writes Refinery 29, and sees women applying their blush not just on cheekbones, but actually underneath their eyes too.

A quick search on Google of the term ‘Byojaku’ will show you that this ‘sickly’ look is very much a trend with the wearer appearing vulnerable and quite child-like, which it seems is the aim of the look.

However, illness isn’t the only look many Japanese women go for when they apply blush under their eyes as blogger RinRin Doll explains: “Rather than a sick look, the blush brings a more youthful and innocent look to the face.”

Hmm, we think we’ve spent far too long learning how to conceal our under-eye baggage so we may give this trend a skip – would you give it a try?!
