There are few things more terrifying to a parent than the possibility of our children being harmed. Unfortunately Jaime King, best known for Hart of Dixie, recently endured a harrowing experience when her four-year-old son James Knight Newman was attacked by a man.

According to E! News, the Beverley Hills Police Department issued a statement about the ordeal that reads:

"The four-year old child was secured in a child car seat positioned in the back seat of the vehicle as the suspect jumped on the rear windshield causing glass to shatter and strike the child.

"In an effort to protect the child, the female driver exited the vehicle and confronted the suspect at which time he threw a can at her, striking her arm."

The 47-year-old suspect, identified as Paul Francis Floyd, has been arrested for felony child endangerment, misdemeanour battery and two counts of felony vandalism.

Jaime described the 'brutal attack' in her own statement on Instagram, saying, "My brave friend Judit Balogh used her self-defence training to try and keep the individual from harming James Knight while glass was shattering on him, as the perpetrator jumped on the roof until it collapsed, and kicked in the windows trying to get him.

"He threw a bottle at her, hitting and assaulting her, but he could never catch her. Without her bravery and selflessness, I cannot imagine the outcome. I encourage all women and men to arm themselves with the skill of self-defence training. I promise you will never know when you might need it."

She thanked the other people who came to their aid, including the Beverley Hills Police Department, and wrote about the role of the paparazzi in the incident:

"I want to believe we live in a world where human integrity comes before documenting an attack. I'm saddened that the paparazzi chose to terrorize my son and I by shoving cameras in our face during an attack, whilst he was shaking and crying instead of trying to help."

Jamie shared words of compassion in her statement as well, writing, "Mental health, drug addiction, and homelessness are issues that need to be addressed, and we desperately need more resources dedicated to helping people suffering. We as a society can do better than to let those in need endanger themselves and those around them without the help they require.

"I believe strongly in our Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and our Beverly Hills Mayor Julian A. Gold and know they will not only continue to work to change the status quo but also dedicate themselves to issues that permeate California."

The 38-year-old mum concluded her statement with: "I will do all I can so that no parent, child, person will have to be victimized as we have and that those in need receive the resources necessary."

We hope Jamie and James Knight are recovering well. No family should have to feel unsafe in their daily lives.

Taylor Swift could be criticised for many things, but a failing sense of generosity definitely is not one of them.

Having previously donated sizable sums to victims of flooding, literacy programmes for children and the arts, the singer has now chosen to assist a facility of great personal significance.

Yesterday, Hart of Dixie actress and good friend of Taylor Swift Jaime King took to Instagram to share an open letter in which she thanks her Grammy-winning BFF for a donation she made to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in honour of her son Leo Thames.

Along with a letter of acknowledgement from the hospital, the mother of two shared the story of how the Bad Blood songstress – who happens to be the godmother of Leo Thames – supported their family during the little boy's heart surgery.

She wrote:     “Dear all – at 20 weeks our son was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries AKA TGA.  He had a major heart surgery, that was terrifying, and traumatic for us as parents, for our family.”

“Only a few of our best friends knew.  I felt that I had to protect him in fear of the unknown, fear he would not make it. We felt isolated & confused.”

Praising her friend’s spirit of “unconditional giving”, Jaime said: “Taylor Swift does so many selfless acts that go unnoticed because she does them silently.”

“As the Godmother of Leo Thames for his birthday she gave an incredible donation to the people that saved his life.”

“TS knew that by giving back in this way would be the greatest gift one could give to us, to Leo Thames and to all of those with congenital heart issues.”

The Pearl Harbour star continued by expressing her gratitude to Taylor and acknowledging how the singer has supported the family on an emotional level.

“She came to the ICU to comfort us, to hold and bond with him with such grace & strength.  Our gift back is to share our story that anyone that is going through this is not alone.”

“Leo Thames is the strongest, healthiest boy because of this team.  He will live a full and whole life & never have to look back. Thank you.”

Only a few of our best friends knew. I felt that I had to protect him in fear of the unknown, fear he would not make it. As the Godmother of Leo Thames for his birthday she gave an incredible donation to the people that saved his life Dr. Allistar Phillips and his brilliant team. It made us realize that silence cannot connect other parents & people going through these issues. Ever since news broke that Amber Heard had obtained a restraining order against Johnny Depp, fans of the former couple wasted no time playing judge and jury.

With the actress claiming that she's been the victim of domestic abuse, one corner of the public immediately accepted the claims as fact while others were quick to defend the Pirates of the Caribbean star against the allegations.

Reminding everyone that they only know what they have been fed by the press, Jaime King has insisted neutrality on the part of the public is vital in this instance.

Speaking to UsMagazine.com, the Hart of Dixie star explained that while Johnny played a very important part in her career, but she is not in a position to comment on what went on behind closed doors.

"Listen, I love Johnny Depp," she began. "One of my very first movies he played my father.  He is one of the most loving, kind, generous, attentive, brilliant men that I've ever met."

In spite of this, Jaime says people need to acknowledge the severity of the matter, saying: "It is a deeply painful situation and people are treating it as if it's entertainment, and it's not f**king funny. And it's not entertaining."

"It's all hearsay. It's all he said, she said. Frankly, it's not about sides because we cannot take sides in a situation that we're not there for, bottom line," she added.

The Sin City star, who recently revealed she had been the victim of sexual assault, insists the former couple need to be given space, saying: "It's about loving and supporting each person by saying, give them their privacy let them work it out."

It's been over two weeks since model Jaime King welcomed her second son into the world, and we've finally been given a first look at the newborn… courtesy of Taylor Swift.

As Jaime's long-time bestie, Taylor was the perfect choice for godmother, and her duties so far include sharing the first picture of little Leo Thames with the world. Taking to Instagram last night to give her 39.7m followers a peek at her new godson, Taylor already seemed smitten.

"Meeting my boy," she wrote, posting a picture of herself and Jaime looking down at little Leo.

Jaime and her husband Kyle Newman soon followed suit and reposted Taylor's picture to their own Instagram accounts, with Jaime saying the meeting was "bliss" and Kyle writing, "The sweetest love. Leo Thames w Momma & God Momma."

Taylor also shared a gorgeous snap of Leo's tiny hand clutching hers, with her gold-painted fingernails clearly visible. "Your little hand's wrapped around my finger and it's so quiet in the world tonight…" she wrote, quoting a line from her single Never Grow Up.

Jaime first revealed she was expecting a sibling for her toddler son James Knight back in February, posting a brilliant picture of James blowing bubbles next a sign that read, "I'm gonna be a big brother! Who da boss now, I'm so excited!!!!"

Weeks later Taylor confirmed she was to be godmother to the new arrival.

We wonder if one of the perks of being T-Swift's godson is free tickets to every concert? If so, Leo's a lucky boy…

Taylor Swift is getting ready to become a godmother for the first time thanks to her BFF Jaime King, and she's already been sharing her excitement with fans.

However the singer may have let a big piece of information slip when she shared this sweet video earlier today of herself and Jaime checking out the baby's movements.

In the video, simply captioned "checking up on these two :)", Taylor's hand can be seen on her friend's bump as the little one kicks inside.

The expectant mum is heard saying, "He's sticking his arm up for you," before Taylor responds, "That's crazy! Happy Mother's Day!"

Although model Jaime admitted to E! News a while back that she was aware of her new baby's sex, she refused to disclose the gender at the time.

So could this latest video mean that Jaime and her husband Kyle Newman are expecting a second boy? It certainly seems that way…

It didn't seem like the American model was too annoyed about the big reveal though, as she took to Instagram herself later on to repost Taylor's video with the caption, "#Regram from our special visitor tonight @taylorswift – baby is ready to play with his God Mother. Like, NOW! Get ready Meredith and Olivia because this one is gonna wanna cuddle and dance alllll day with your mama! I love you so much Tay. Thank you…. Always x"

Jaime and Kyle are already parents to one-year-old James, who they welcomed back in October 2013.

In February the couple revealed they were expecting again with an adorable Instagram post showing little James holding a sign that read, "I'm gonna be a big brother! Who da boss now, I'm so excited!!!!"

How cute?!

We're delighted to hear the couple will now have another little boy to add to their brood, and we know who to turn to for Jaime's baby updates in the future…

What's going on in the States lately?

You can't even blink and yet another show is being cancelled!

While Kelly Brook's latest venture may not have grabbed the attention of the public like TV execs might have hoped, there's no doubt that Hart of Dixie had a special place in the hearts (ahem) of many TV viewers, but it looks like we'll have to make do without it now.

It has emerged that the comedy-drama starring former OC star, Rachel Bilson and BFF to Taylor Swift, Jaime King, has been axed after just four seasons.

While new mum, Rachel, and mum-to-be, Jaime, have yet to comment on the news, the series creator, Leila Gerstein, has confirmed the sad news, tweeting: "It’s official. But I have to add a thank you to all our amazing, inspiring fans. You are the real BlueBell. xox"

What are we going to do now that we can't follow the ups and downs of Zoe Hart?!

We're suffering withdrawals already.

Jaime King might be feeling a bit morto today!

The model and actress, who is currently expecting her second child with her husband Kyle Newman, got very angry on Instagram last night… but it was all down to a mix-up about the word "ho."

All the drama kicked off when Jaime posted a picture of a bottle of Fiji water, the celebrity favourite, reminding pregnant women to keep hydrated.

A commenter named Jessica took issue with the picture of the high-priced bottled water, writing, "I'm sure the people of fiji would like fiji water too but unfortunately they can't have any because some big business decided that they now own the water in fiji. But hey ho, keep paying top dollar for those bottles of water, as long as oppression isn't on your door step, am i right?"

Jaime immediately took issue with the use of the word "ho" and replied to the comment with an EPIC rant, saying, "Dear Jessica- an open letter to your open assault. Apparently, I am a ho. Oppression is not at my doorstep according to this you. (Ironically, I grew up with my father taking care of the tenements and section 8 housing, collecting quarters out of washing machines and cleaning broken toilets) there are many forms of oppression. Physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and beyond."

The rant continued by telling Jessica to "take responsibility" for her words, with Jaime saying the comment deserved "instant karma."

However, as many of the model's other followers pointed out, it's highly likely Jessica meant "hey ho" as an informal, non-offensive greeting.

"'Hey ho' is a British phrase to say like 'Ah well' @jaime_king she wasn't calling you a ho," wrote one follower. "I know it doesn't make her post any less ignorant. Just so you know it wasn't as mean/personal as it probably came across xo."

Jaime then quickly deleted the entire post to avoid any further confusion, and took to Twitter to express a semi-apology:

An eventful night indeed!

Actress Jaime King shared a heartbreaking throwback photo of herself recently.

The image features the actress as a younger woman, about 16-years-old, when she was struggling with heroin and alcohol dependency.

Taken by her former boyfriend, who sadly passed away in 1997, Davide Sorrenti, Jaime remembers her past love: “Oh Davide, we got into so much trouble with this picture. At least we know the depth of what we were capturing #lostart #thislifeisprecious.”

Davide died of a kidney ailment thought to be caused by excessive use of heroin. He and Jaime were dating at the time of his death.

Following his death, the young Jaime received help for her addiction issues and went on to become a successful actress. She is now mum to one-year-old cutie, James.
