Much like Von Dutch hats, UGGs and Kelis's Milkshake, flip phones live on in our hearts and minds as an iconic piece of 00s culture.

The now seemingly ancient artefacts were the must-have gadget of the 00s era, with every celeb worth their salt rocking a snappy flip phone with their Juicy tracksuit.

Bonus points if it was bedazzled in crystals.

Last year, Motorola announced that they were bringing back an updated version of their beloved Razr phone, and now Samsung are following suit.

The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is here to make all our Simple Life dreams come true.

As you can expect, the phone has a sassy flip mechanism, comes in metallic pink and purple and has 16GB of internal memory and an 8MP main camera.

Paris Hilton would be proud.

As well as having all the throwback features, the phone will also be adapted to today's social media savvy age, with a 'social app key' that allows users to easily access their social media accounts through the touch of a button.

There will also be a a 5MP selfie camera.

Samsung has actually continued to sell their original flip phones since the 00s, but their only market was in South Korea.

The Folder 2 has been released in both Korean and Chinese markets, but no word yet on its European release date.

Fingers crossed it's coming up soon, because these beautiful bad boys would be the perfect respite from smart phone saturation.

Following multiple reports that Galaxy Note 7 phones have caught fire or exploded in recent weeks, Samsung, who have sold more than one million Note 7 smartphones in 10 countries so far including South Korea and the US, have made the decision to issue a worldwide recall.

Suspending sales of the smartphone, the company's president, Koh Dong-jin, has confirmed that an investigation carried out by the company discovered that a particular battery cell was causing the sudden fires.

Acknowledging the 35 confirmed cases, Koh said: "We have received several reports of battery explosion on the Note 7 that was officially launched on 19 August, and it has been confirmed that it was a battery cell problem."

Expressing regret over the incidents, he advised the public that anyone who has purchased a Note 7 will be entitled to swap it for a new smartphone regardless of the purchase date.

"For customers who already have Galaxy Note 7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming week," a spokesperson for the company confirmed.

It has been established that Samsung – a south Korean company – would require two weeks to prepare replacement devices for the faulty phones, and the planned release for the model in several European countries has now been suspended.

Customers affected in Ireland can contact 01 6950367 to arrange a replacement over the coming weeks.

It's safe to say we all add the odd filter to our photos to make us look a little better.

And while it's all well and good to have the choice to use a filter, Samsung has received backlash for 'forcing' people to have a filter on their selfies.

Author and health coach, Mel Wells, took to instagram to share her frustration at the mobile phone company after she bought a new phone, and took a selfie with it, but was surprised to see her face had been "heavily edited."

Mel wrote that "the default setting on the front camera is automatically on "Beauty level 8" which evidently means: seriously airbrushed face.

Wow Samsung. When you get a brand new phone and go to take a selfie and realise that the default setting on the front camera is automatically on "Beauty level 8" which evidently means: seriously airbrushed face. This means everyone who gets a new Samsung phone and flicks the front camera on is automatically being told "Hi, we're Samsung and we think you look way better when we automatically airbrush your selfies for you, x 8!!" Thanks @samsungmobile for the vote of confidence, I think I'll keep my freckles and imperfections since this is how I look in 3D and this is how all my friends see me in real life. I hope young girls are buying iPhones instead of Samsungs. (Wait, do iPhones do this too?) To clarify – no apps here – this is Samsung's DEFAULT FRONT CAMERA SETTING.

What do you think of this? Would you be happy to have this filter 'forced' on you?

Last week Apple unveiled their plans for the next iPhone and the internet collectively had a meltdown.

The thoughts of a pink iPhone threw people into a complete whirlwind of emotions, and with the news of their new and improved front facing camera selfie lovers could not contain themselves.

While once upon a time people were skeptical about the iPhone screen size, smartphone users now appear to have embraced the plus sized phones with open arms. Although, there was that small issue of people facing bent phones when they tried to pop them in their pockets.

Now imagine this: a smartphone with a high-resolution screen like the iPhone you love but even bigger, and it can fold in half.

Mashable reports that an insider has said Samsung are in the middle of testing such a device. The rumours claim that the device is not the much-anticipated Galaxy S7, and also that it may only be available in South Korea.

That is not altogether unusual however as the company released the Galaxy Round, a phone with a curved display before they settled on the Galaxy S6 Edge which boasts curved edges. The Galaxy Round was only ever released in South Korea.

The company have previously released concepts for devices with folded displays and it is thought their smartphone would be released in attempts to win over Apple customers. The concept has been floated by the company since 2014, but reports are claiming it could soon be a reality.

In today's world, we are met daily – if not hourly – with sad, tragic stories from around the world.

Every now and then, it's important to remind ourselves that there IS good in the world – which is why we just love this video.

An advert for Samsung sees an entire town in Turkey taking the time to learn sign language so they can show hearing-impaired Muharram what it is like to be in a world with no barriers.

His reaction is bemusement and when he learns what has really happened, he is so touched and is brought to tears – as were we if we are being honest!

Just remember – there is love out there!
