Netflix' Bird Box has consistently found itself in the headlines, mainly because of how absolutely ridiculous the whole debacle is.

The movie sparked a change this week in YouTube's guidelines after people began posting videos of themselves carrying out potentially dangerous acts while blindfolded, such as driving.

The streaming giant even had to come out and tell viewers not to try the so-called 'Bird Box Challenge', but now the company is under fire for using REAL footage from a 2013 rail disaster.

In 2013, a 74-car freight train transporting crude oil derailed beside the small Canadian town of Lac-Mégantic, and resulted in the tragic deaths of 47 people.

At first, Netflix refused to edit its post-apocalyptic horror flick after it was criticised for using footage of the disaster. A spokesman told AP it had no plans to remove the footage; “We will keep the clip in the movie.”

Now, it has been reported that the streaming service will be exploring ways to prevent this from happening in the future. BBC reports that Netflix has used footage of the tragedy before, in the Canadian-American science fiction show Travellers.

Julie Morin, mayor of Lac-Mégantic, criticised Netflix for using the upsetting footage, telling The Globe and Mail: “You can be sure we are going to follow up on this, and our citizens are on our side.”

Peacock Alley Entertainment, who produced Travellers, released an apology and said they unintentionally dishonoured the Lac-Mégantic incident and would replace the footage.

Pond 5 also stated their regret that the footage had been ”taken out of context and used in entertainment programming”. They apologise “to anyone who was offended, especially the victims and their families”.

Ryan Reynolds is the king of trolling; his birthday messages to his wife, Blake Lively, keeps everyone hugely entertained, but now he's moved on to another famous female.

Hollywood icon Betty White celebrated her 97th birthday yesterday, and received adorable messages from celebrities worldwide.

Ryan's comical note was definitely the winner, however. The 42-year-old actor referred to the veteran actress as his 'ex-girlfriend', should Blake be worried?

He captioned the image of himself and White;

"I don’t usually wish ex-girlfriends Happy Birthday. But Betty’s special. Happy Birthday to the one and only, Betty White," followed by a birthday cake emoji.

The duo are both renowned for their quick wit, and have known each other since she portrayed his grandmother in the 2009 rom-com, The Proposal, alongside Sandra Bullock.

Sandra Bullock, Reynolds and White filmed a GAS Funny or Die promotional video for the film, and it seems they've been best friends ever since.

After Deadpool premiered in 2016, White made her own review for the flick; "Hello, I just saw the most anticipated movie of the year," White said about the Reynolds-made movie, while lounging in a red velvet chair.

"It was glorious. Once in a generation, a movie comes along that your whole family will love. If your family is a f*cking group of ass-kissing inbreds," she jokingly dead-panned. "Plus, Ryan Reynolds looks so f*cking handsome in his red leather suit."

Reynolds wished White a happy birthday back in 2018 with an amusing photo of himself wearing his Deadpool costume on Instagram, holding a martini and hot dog.

There also featured a framed photo of White eating a hot dog, from her recent movie, Parade. The beloved Betty was asked the secret to living a long and happy life,

Her ICONIC answer, was of course; vodka and hot dogs, "probably in that order." Marry us.

Reynolds wrote, "Happy Birthday to the one and only Betty White! Cheers to another year of ‘Tinis and Weenies!" This appears to be how the amazing tradition was born, and long may it last.

They  both possess such dry senses of humour, which essentially makes them a match made in comedic heaven.

We're sure Blake approves. Happy Birthday Betty, you Queen. Never change.

There's literal (ok not LITERAL but you know what I mean) tumbleweed blowing across the office as the SHEmazing team heard this.

Because, like, duh.

Even though we love our families unconditionally, if you've ever sat through a long lunch or family gathering, then the findings of this study will make a lot of sense to you.
AreaVibes conducted a survey with more than 1,000 people about their proximity from immediate family, who they tend to favour and where they run off to when long-stay visits are a must.

So what did they find?

People do what they can to avoid conflict when the family gets together as 22% of people opt for an Airbnb when visiting their siblings.

Mean or fair?

Alcohol plays a big part in families hanging out as the survey showed that millennials rely on alcohol at a significantly higher level than other generations, with family discussions about current events pushing them over the edge.

Which is hardly shocking, to be fair.

So what about when it comes to grandparents? Surely people put aide dome time for the elderly members of their family?

Shockingly, adults only set aside time to see their grandparents FOUR times a year.

C'mon now lads, it's important to spend time with your Grandma's and Grandad's, especially if they live nearby.

Joe Alwyn is a man of consistency, if nothing else. He pretty much explicitly refuses to talk about his relationship with Taylor Swift that we're all GAGGING to hear the details about.

Every now and again, we get a few tasters, but it's Swift-ly shut down (Yup, we went there).

He's continuing his award season run for his acting work in Boy Erased, Mary, Queen of Scots and The Favourite, meaning interviewers are once again clamouring to gather scandalous information.

He recently spoke about his notoriously quiet two-year relationship to one of pop's biggest singers, and commented on how his relationship is often perceived.

Alwyn's interview was with Mr. Porter's The Look magazine, and let's just saw he was less than impressed when his ties to Taylor were referred to as "strangely private".

They've managed to keep their relationship intensely secret, except for a few photocall opportunities during awards season (the Golden Globes, holla).

Whenever he's directly asked about his famous girlfriend, he essentially walks away or else skirts around the question, which is totally fair. It's his life, after all.

The actor was asked whether he feels he has to fight more nowadays for his privacy, given his relationship status to such a famous woman.

“I don’t think more than anyone else," he said. "I don’t think anyone you meet on the streets would just spill their guts out to you, therefore why should I? And then that is defined as being ‘strangely private’. Fine. But I don’t think it is. I think it’s normal.”

The lad's dead right, most of us wouldn't tell media giants about our love lives, for fear they'd twist our words or invade our space.

To Vogue UK, when quizzed on the public's interest in him and Swift, he answered; “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things. I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people…but I really prefer to talk about work.”

British GQ didn't get much further; "Someone's private life is by definition private. No one is obliged to share their personal life."

And on whether he'd name his favourite Taylor Swift song: “I’m just not even going to go into that side of the world." He's good at the whole silent thing, we'll give him that.

Esquire asked whether he gets advice; “I didn’t seek out advice on that because I know what I feel about it. I think there’s a very clear line as to what somebody should share, or feel like they have to share, and what they don’t want to and shouldn’t have to.”

Entertainment Tonight's reporter ventured to ask if he'd act with his belle, but he sort of shot that down too; "It’s not planned at the moment, but who knows."

You do you, Joe. You don't owe us nothing, plus the lad is extremely talented in his own right.

New guidelines of been released by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) to reflect the public audience's changing views on sexual content and violence.

Research shows that a surprising 95% of teenagers have been calling for stronger classification on media, with the youth especially worried about watching fictional scenarios which could realistically occur in their own lives.

The BBFC are implementing alterations which sees movies depicting rape and sexual violence as rated 15 rather than 12A.

Keira Knightley's famous period drama The Duchess, which was classified in the 12 category at the time of release, would now be considered as 15 under the new guidelines as a result of the rape scene.

In the study involving more than 10,000 people, 97% of parents as well as young people are asking for stricter guidelines for online content and tougher classification.

David Austin, BBFC chief executive, said: “Over the last five years the way we consume film and video has changed beyond all recognition. That’s why it’s so important that there is consistency between what people watch on and offline."

Austin continued; “The research shows that parents and teenagers want us to give them the information and guidance that they need to view what’s right for them."

“We are updating our standards around depictions of sexual violence and very strong sex references to reflect changes in public attitudes," he continued.

Since 2014, British views of sex have consistently transformed and progressed with the times. Audiences now want higher classifications for sexual content.

BBFC claim that “the language of pornography” and strong sexual references are also expected to gain an 18 certificate.

The BBFC maintain that audiences are more tolerant of violent content than other potentially troubling material, according to their research, which is worrying.

Austin added: “We’re here to listen to what people want, which is why they trust our age ratings. So it’s encouraging to know that we’ve been classifying content in line with what people want and expect when it comes to difficult themes around credible real-life scenarios."

“We also know that people are more comfortable with issues such as action violence," he concluded. The guidelines will be officially released on February 28.

A woman who's pregnancy carries a fatal foetal abnormality was refused an abortion at a Dublin hospital, the Dáil has heard.

A heated debate ensued in the Dáil today following the revelation.

The denial of termination was at the Coombe Hospital in Dublin.

The issue was raised by PBP-Solidarity TDs Ruth Coppinger and Bríd Smith.

Ms Coppinger told the room that the woman was told that she must wait another four weeks to see if she would have a spontaneous miscarriage.

Two consultants had confirmed a case of fatal foetal abnormality, however the board of the hospital refused a termination, she said.

'It appears the board of the Coombe Hospital is refusing her constitutional right that we all voted for to have an abortion at a time she chooses,' she continued.

The topic of an individual case was deemed inappropriate by some members, however it was agreed that the occurrence was not right.

A spokesperson for Minister for Health Simon Harris told RTE: 'We do not comment on individual cases.'

Most women have, at some point in their lives, experienced the pain of cystic acne.

At 15 it's already quite embarrassing, but when it happens to you at 27, it can turn your life into a nightmare.

Every time someone looks at you, you think 'they are 100% starring at my spots.' Sometimes it gets so embarrassing that you actually start cancelling on your friends with the excuse that you're not feeling well,' when truth is, you just can't face being seen in that state.

Internet can be a great resource to search for new treatments or ways to hide your acne. For me, the saviour was named Lisa Eldridge.

Thanks to her technique, I managed to cover up most of the damage.

After trying many, many creams and serums to try and get rid of those ugly spots on my face, I noticed two products started working and really helped me get rid of pimples and marks.

I wont leave ypu in suspense -firstly, I started applying tea tree oil on the spots. It might seems counter intuitive to apply oil on spots, but this natural ingredient proved more effective than any other wands and sticks I have tried before.

The second great discover was a product that I heard about scrolling the Internet about potential solutions to my problem. I bought it, and day after day, I could literally witness the spots healing, and gradually, less and less new spots appearing.

The name of this magic cream? Avène TriAcnéal Expert.

This orangey cream is an evening moisturiser that targets blemishes, marks and the first signs of ageing (sure why not), especially targetting women in the 20s to 30s. In a matter of weeks, my skin got clearer and new spots stopped appearing.

Did I just get lucky?

Did my hormones finally decide to leave my poor skin alone? I couldn't be sure, but I know that when I was at the highest of the crisis, I would have loved to hear about a product that saved someone else's skin.

Avène TriAcnéal Expert is available in Boots for €32 but it costs a mere €12 if you buy it in a French pharmacy.

If there's one thing people in their twenties just can't seem to wrap their heads around, it's sticking to a budget.

We have low wages, high rents and over-priced brunches to thank for our less than impressive savings accounts – But hey, we're still young. We've got plenty of time to figure out our finances, right?

Well, not exactly. According to a recent survey conducted by ClearScore, the most expensive year of your life will begin on your 31st birthday.

The survey of 3,000 found that the average 31-year-old will spend around €48,000 ($60,000) a year – and well, if that doesn't put the fear of God into you, I don't know what will.

It seems that 31 is the age when most people splash out on special occasions and mortgage deposits, with getting married proving to be the most costly event.

Babies will also pit a strain on your finances, with 20 per cent of those surveyed agreeing that starting a family was the most expensive thing.

While this outrageous may come as a surprise, Justin Basini, the chief executive of ClearScore explained: “Many of life’s big milestones tend to happen very close together so we weren’t shocked to discover how much people were spending during their most expensive year.”
