Kim Kardashian may be one of the most popular Instagram users with an astonishing 136 million people following her account, however, that doesn’t necessarily mean she is the most loved celebrity on the photo-sharing app.

The businesswoman is often slated for the content she shares on Instagram whether that’s of her daughter North wearing makeup or a lavish shot taken on her private jet.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is often hit with waves of criticism no matter what she posts, but her latest post has caused quite the stir online and we’re not surprised.

Kim posted a throwback photo from her recent trip to Bali. The snaps were taken at a supposed ‘elephant sanctuary’ in Bali, however, Kim has been slammed for the cruel photos with many claiming the elephants are treated horribly at the ‘sanctuary’.

Numerous users stressed the fact that if it was, in fact, an elephant sanctuary then people wouldn’t allow elephants to be ridden.

One user wrote: “This is not an elephant sanctuary. You do not ride elephants in a sanctuary. Do not visit or post about these places when you do not have the right information. These are beautiful animals that need to be treated with respect not like a toy to ride along and to take an insta pic with. Disgraceful.”

Another asked: “Do you really care about the elephants? Or do you care more about how you look standing in front of one.”

“This is cruel! This elephant should be in the wild with its social group…Seriously Kim? You couldn’t have picked a real sanctuary where they rescue animals and don’t ‘train’ elephants and rip them from their families? You had to choose this place?!” another said.

One user stressed how this place definitely wasn’t an elephant sanctuary like Kim claimed: “This is not a sanctuary; you know it by the fact that the elephant is being ridden and there is a hook on a pole that the rider is using to get the elephant to comply. But all for a good picture right Kim? Who cares if the elephant has been tortured (you can see scars on its skin) or taken away from its mother when it was a baby and starved to train it so you could have a picture.”

Kim responded to the backlash by saying she did research before visiting and stressed that the elephants were rescued and well-treated.

It is believed Kim and Kanye visited Mason Adventures in Bali, which is an elephant park, not a sanctuary.

Summer is on the way and while that excites us, the news that one of our FAVOURITE McFlurrys will be available again takes top billing.

Remember Aero and Mint Aero McFlurrys?

Of course you do – well, they are going to be back on the menu at McDonald's soon.

After four years, the ice-cream treat will be making summer 2019 the best one in ages, all thanks to its minty chocolatey goodness.

Starting from next week, the McFlurrys will be available in regular and mini size – but there's a catch.

They'll only be in McDonald's for eight weeks, so snap 'em up while you can.

So what's in them?

Topped with chocolate pieces and a chocolate or peppermint sauce (depending on which one you go for) – sounds delicious, right?

Time to race you to your nearest McDonald's.

Fans of Derry Girls, we’ve got some bad news for you. The Irish comedy was due to be released on Netflix on May 8, but it looks like fans will have to wait longer than expected.

There’s been a Derry Girls-shaped hole in our hearts since the last episode of series two aired in April so we are pretty gutted about this news.

The second instalment of the hilarious Irish series went by in the blink of an eye but we adored every minute.

We’ll just have to wait patiently for Netflix to add the hilarious Irish show and re-watch episodes of Friends for the time being.

If you’re giving up or reducing your coffee intake for your New Year’s resolutions – my deepest sympathies go out to you.

If you’re thinking about cutting the caffeine – listen up, I’ve already done the hard work and went cold turkey for one long week and here’s how I got on.

I must confess that on a good day I will have one or two cups of coffee and on a bad one, that number will creep to three, maybe even four.

So kicking the habit, I knew might be a little bit of a challenge, but I didn’t think it would make a massive difference – oh, those famous last words…

Day one was relatively easy. I had three coffees the day before which might explain the ease of which I got through the day.

However, the next day was an entirely different story. My mood was so low and I was experiencing palpitations.

This was only made worse when I dined out as usually I would order an espresso to round up the meal as it helps digestion.

Of course, my little shot of heaven was forbidden, but lucky enough for me, my fellow dinner guests weren’t interested in ordering any teas or coffees, so I didn’t feel like I was completely missing out.

Day three, I watched my mother add cream to the expensive coffee I treated the household too. I did everything to distract my brain whilst she expressed just how delicious her coffee was – it was torture.

Our day was scheduled to stop in a coffee shop, but again, I was given a lifeline as thanks to the festive period, they were closed.

Day four was a challenge. I did a coffee run with my mother and I finally caved and had a decaffeinated coffee.

I was hoping the placebo effect would kick in and I would get some sort of buzz – I have no idea why I thought it would work as obviously without the caffeine, coffee quickly loses its appeal and energy boosting properties.

I knocked down the warm brown liquid with a sulky look on my face.

I really thought the reactions people experienced from giving up caffeine were fake. I have since learnt that they are all too real.

Day five was a day I had been dreading the whole week. I was working and I usually rely on coffee to give me my morning energy to get into the office.

I knew my coffee crutch would be very hard to ignore, so I made myself a deal. I wouldn’t go near the kitchen until my shift was finished.

This way my hunger would outweigh my desire for caffeine. Although it’s a method I wouldn’t recommend, it did work and I survived the day without having a breakdown.

Day six and I was STILL experiencing palpations, particularly at night time when they’d come thick and fast. My tactic to get through the day was to constantly distract myself, knowing the experiment wouldn’t last much longer.

One thing I certainly didn’t expect to experience is how much I thought about coffee – not being allowed to have it, made it so much more tempting.

Day seven and I was back working. I kept my head down and powered through the day. Lucky enough for me, a lot of my symptoms had begun to subside and I didn’t feel like total crap. However, I was very much looking forward to finishing the experiment and going back to my relationship with coffee.

The morning had finally arrived and I am not messing – I actually got up earlier to enjoy my cup of coffee AND even treated the family to a coffee run – (though this was mainly out of guilt for being so moody over the week, sorry mum).

It was divine and there’s no way I am ever going back, life is too short not to enjoy at least one coffee a day.

Since giving the challenge a go, I’ve reduced my intake and have been more aware of how much caffeine I am consuming.

While the makeup look du jour may be all about a glittering cut-crease and killer contour, there is a subset of beauty lovers who lust after the 'less is more' approach when it comes to skincare.

Following decades of heavy base, a counterculture of skincare puritans are craving a departure from the usual opaque foundation finish.

It’s the makeup of choice of supermodels and Parisian it-girls alike – a glowy, sheer skin look with enough mattification to avoid unsightly shininess (cool gals don’t get sweaty, yo) with a slick of mascara, brow gel, and perhaps a hint of a Glossier Holoscope on the cheekbones.

The look doesn’t mask elements that were once perceived as flaws, be that freckles, wrinkles or beauty marks, but instead celebrates them by allowing them to peek through a sheer but supportive veil of light coverage.

While I love to experiment with glossy eyeshadow, cushion blushes and black liquid lipsticks, I am definitely one of those people who covets barely there makeup – I would love nothing more than to be able to add a whisper of foundation, a suggestion of a lined lip and a dewy highlight and be on my way. However, as a card-carrying member of the adult acne club, sheer foundation isn’t always my friend.

When I heard that Lancôme was launching a new edition of their beloved 24h wear Teinte Idole Ultra Wear Foundation in a lighter coverage option, I was intrigued. The original Teint Idole is known for it’s long lasting coverage and matte finish, and the launch of the sister base seemed like it could be the answer to my sheer-skin dreams.

The Teinte Idole Ultra Wear Nude was launched last week in the Intercontinental’s Ice Bar, and I went along with a flurry of other Lancôme beauty fans to get the suss. I had my shade matched by Lancôme’s Training and Event’s Executive Lorraine Byrne and got to chat about all the foundation had to offer – including a promise of 24 hour wear but in a light ‘your skin but better’ demi-matte finish.

I left with my 40ml bottle (most foundations only provide 30mls of product) in my shade 021 Beige Jasmin – which was just one of a diverse 40 shades. When a foundation is described as ‘skin-like,’ it’s impossible to maintain the integrity of that term if it doesn’t cater to a wide range of skin colours. The Nude foundation has a huge variety of shades and undertones, from the palest alabaster to the richest obsidian. Many foundations have come and gone over the past 12 months, their launches cold-shouldered over a ‘diverse’ shade range that in actually is just 15 shades of beige, and fake-tan wearing beige. Lancôme is clearly not going to be one of them.

My lifestyle involves working full days, then usually heading out in the evenings – be it going to work events or catching up with pals – and by the time I wash my makeup off at night, it’s usually barely remaining and shiny at best, so the 24 hour wear of the TIUWN was a big selling point.

The following morning, I shelved my usual bottle of foundation for the week to take the Teinte Idole Ultra Wear Nude for a test drive. I opted to use it as an addition to my usual makeup routine rather than letting it stand alone to start.

First impressions: I was definitely expecting it to be more sheer than it was. With one serving I was able to lightly veil my skin without it looking like I had foundation sitting on my skin.

The product blended seamlessly into my skin, and lightly filtered my face while allowing my freckles and moles to remain visible. I was concerned about the small constellation of acne that had broken out on my cheek earlier that week, but the foundation covered the redness without clinging to dry patches or the uneven texture of that area. I added a hint of my high coverage concealer to spot-conceal the most noticeable blemish, and to hide my very purple under-eye circles, and was on my way.

Left: No makeup | Right: Foundation, concealer and no powder

During the launch of the foundation, it was explained that due to the TIUWN’s matte finish, powder was not necessary. In fact, the ladies at Lancôme described how the foundation was ideal for a person on the go and could even be worn to the gym without fear of excessive shininess – so I eschewed my usual layer of translucent powder.

I’m far from a gym goer, but that day I had to go to work, attend a mid day event, go back to work and then head out for the evening for drinks with friends, all without an opportunity to top up my makeup. I could have brought the foundation along with me (Nude comes in a handy, travel-friendly hard plastic bottle rather than traditional glass) but I wanted to give it a proper trial for its first wear.

I felt exceptionally self-conscious knowing I didn’t have powder on – I love a glowy look but for me that often tips over into a high-shine situation. Despite my regular checks in the mirror and the screen of my laptop, I was shine free but still luminous – the only shine showing was my intentionally placed highlighter. Arriving home that evening after testing the foundation for 18 hours (it was a 6am start kind of work day) it was magically, inconceivably still on, and still werkin’.

Left: Without concealer and under florescent lighting | Right: With concealer in natural lighting

Throughout the week, I trialled the foundation with and without concealer, with and without powder, and with and without primer. My perfect concoction turned out to be my ride or die Madison Prime Prep Perfection Primer, one squeeze of the TIUWN, and no powder. The only area of my face that needed assistance in the coverage department was under my eyes – I have notoriously bad circles under there and the most heavy duty of specialised concealers can barely hide them so I wasn’t anticipating that a light, illuminating foundation would be able to and frankly, it’s not in the TIUWN job description.

Of course, makeup looks different in various lighting -under the fluorescents of the office, Nude maintains my skin's tone without allowing the lights to wash me out, while in direct sunlight, the glowing-from-within look comes alive without looking sweaty or shiny.

As for the foundation I shelved for a week to trial the Teinte Idole Ultra Wear Nude? It's still there – The Nude is allowing me to live my coveted 'your skin but better' dreams while maintaining the comfort blanket of buildable coverage my 'imperfect' skin needs.

Teinte Idole Ultra Wear Nude by Lancôme launches tomorrow, February 13th, from Lancôme retailers for €40.

We decided to investigate Harry Styles' net worth, instead of focusing on our own empty bank balance. It's somewhat cathartic.

The former star of One Direction has made a crazy amount of cash, and we decided to do some digging. For research purposes…

His infamous hair is earned him numerous endorsements, and the band itself made most of their earnings from their Pepsi days and touring.

While they may be on a very extended 'break', Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson became millionares after chugging out album after album in a short space of time.

First of all, 1D sales are beyond insane. According to RIAA, One Direction has sold $13.5 million in digital singles, which is basically in downloaded singles alone.

Their album sales are also on the high end of the spectrum; 2013’s Midnight Memories was that year’s best-selling album, selling a whopping 4 million copies worldwide.

Let's not forget the merch, shall we? Piles of cash came in from their 2014 Where We Are Tour in particular. It became the highest-grossing tour of the year with $290.2 million.

Their 2013 Take Me Home tour also made $114 million, and 2015’s On the Road Again Tour made $208 million. So they've got plenty to brag about.

Bear in mind, the money had to be divided in five as well as siphoned off to their management and those who worked on set and on tour with them. STILL, it's cold hard cash.

LOOK HOW CUTE THEY WERE:

A post shared by One Direction (@oniedirection) on

Their merch strategy was out of this world; they could have sold a dirty old sock and fans would pay millions for it. You can still find merch of the bands actually..might get some more?

Their This Is Us movie earned a casual $8.9 million on its opening day alone, so there's that too. We confess, we went to see it, Twice.

One Direction also made sure to work with brands to get endorsements, such as Toyota and Pepsi.

Apart from all that coin he made in the infamous boy band, Harry also had his self-titled debut album and movie roles as part of his earnings.

His self-titled musical offering sold well, with one million copies being bought to be exact, and his solo tour making $62 million

His role in Dunkirk presumably paid well, and his modelling for GUCCI tailoring also gave him a handsome salary.

His L.A. home was only recently put on the market for $7.495 million, so he's got some money tied up in real estate property, and a $6.8 million NYC apartment, as well as his $3 million London home.

Which means…according to Celebrity Net Worth, our boy Harry has a total of $75 million to his name.

We just shed a single tear for the state of our financial independence…

Pink has gotten candid about the tragic miscarriage she suffered when she was just a teenager.

The singer spoke to USA Today about the loss when she divulged that the inspiration behind some of her newest songs comes from her battles with anxiety and self-image.

The 39-year-old revealed that the song, Happy, came from something personal that happened to her.

She continued, ''But when that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do.''

Pink went on to have a number of miscarriages and has poured the painful emotions into her songwriting.

She said, ''I think it’s important to talk about what you’re ashamed of, who you really are and the painful sh*t. I’ve always written that way.”

It has been therapy that has helped Pink to be so open in her music as it helps her to identify ''blind spots.''

She said, ''I believe in self-confrontation and just getting things out. What I love about therapy is that they’ll tell you what your blind spots are.''

She added, ''Although that’s uncomfortable and painful, it gives you something to work with.''

Pink is now mum to two gorgeous kids with her husband Carey Hart – seven-year-old Willow and two-year-old Jameson

We applaud her bravery in opening up about such a traumatic time in her life and we hope it helps other women who have also suffered miscarriages to feel less alone.
