It's that time of the year again…the point in the summer where you become absolutely glued to Love Island and obsessive over these reality TV relationships that are most likely staged.

The hit show is back for its fifth season, and its set to become the biggest event of the summer. It succeeds in garnering a huge fanbase who follow the originals like the plague.

We've been dying to see who this years' group of contestants are, and Love Island have finally released their full cast. They're as attention-loving as ever;

This year has already seen controversy surrounding the show itself, as two former contestants have died by suicide and other participants have criticised the show for not supporting them after they left the villa.

The islanders find themselves instantly famous after the series airs, and they become the subject of intense media scrutiny and social media conversations.

The show has now said it will provide therapy sessions for the contestants, and will take more care over their mental health. So who are these brand new faces entering the luxury Mallorcan villa?

Host Caroline Flack will once again welcome the contestants to their Spanish paradise, and Iain Stirling will continue his hilarious duties as the show narrator.

The Islanders must couple up to secure their their place in the villa, and the singletons are at risk of being dumped from the villa. Loyalties will be tested, no doubt, with some unexpected twists on the way.

They're kicking season five off with seven guys and five ladies, so one of those boys will have to graft their ass off to save themselves. The public will once again decide their favourite couple, who walk away with a huge cash prize.

Who is this years' Irish interest? 23-year-old Dubliner Yewanda Biala, who is also a scientist.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Next up, it's Lucie Donlan. 21-year-old Lucie is a surfer from Newquay…will she catch waves or catch a boyfriend?

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

The third lady entering the villa is 28-year-old Anna Vakil, a pharmacist from London.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Girl #4: Amber Gill. The 21-year-old beauty therapist from Newcastle is used to getting what she wants, and is big on the Geordie party scene.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Last but not least for the ladies: Amy Hart. The 26-year-old is from Worthing, Essex, and works as am air hostess and cabin crew manager

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

First up for the boys (they're quite the cocky bunch) is Tommy Fury. The 20-year-old boxer from Manchester is Tyson Fury's younger bro, and rates himself as a 10.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Secondly, 22-year-old Joe Garratt from South East London. Joe works as a catering company owner, and those curls are going to get the ladies going.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

The third boy on the list is Anton Danyluk. The 24-year old is a gym owner from Airdrie, Scotland.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Fourth on the list is a firefighter, Michael Griffiths. The Scouser from Liverpool is 27-years-old, and calls himself a hero.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Number five for the lads is Callum MacLeod. He's a 28-years-old aircraft engineer from South Wales.

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

We can't forget about Curtis Pritchard, brother of Dancing With The Stars' AJ Pritchard. He's 23 from Shropshire, and is a ballroom and Latin dancer.

He's already used to being on reality television, which is an advantage, but can he waltz his way to victory?

Image: Instagram/@loveisland

Last but not least: 20-year-old Sherif Lanre from London. Lanre works as both a chef and semi-pro rugby player…we love versatility.

Love Island returns to Virgin Media Two on Monday June 3 (only six days away) and an experience like no other awaits the brand-new influx of contestants looking for love.

Taylor Swift is set to turn 30-years-old on December 13 and apparently this means she has to settle down and have kids.

When women reach a certain age they are bombarded with questions about their family plans, how many kids they want to have and when they’re going to get married.

We’ve all experienced this at some point in our lives, whether it’s the awfully nosey aunty asking when you and your beau are going to tie the knot or the obnoxious neighbour passing remarks about how you ought to hurry up and ‘squeeze a few puppies out’.

During an interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur, a journalist asked the Shake It Off singer if she was planning on settling down to start a family now that she is approaching her 30th birthday.

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

Swift replied with grace and simply stated: "I really do not think men are asked that question when they turn 30. So I'm not going to answer that question now."

The presumption that every single woman on the planet wants to have a bump and ring on her finger by the age of 30 is beyond dated, and extremely sexist.

Did it ever occur to those who ask these absurd questions that some women don’t want to get married, others may be happier single or simply don’t believe in marriage?

Marriage is one thing, but quizzing women about their family plans and ‘advising’ them to get pregnant at this age is simply ignorant. You never know what is going on in someone’s life, especially when it comes to their fertility.

A post shared by Shravani (@silence.n.patience) on

Millions of people struggle with infertility around the world. An estimated 10 percent of Irish women suffer from polycystic ovaries, which makes it harder for women to become pregnant and increases the risk of developing complications during pregnancy.

Other women simply don’t want to have children and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that decision.

Taylor Swift’s response to this rude question was completely fair and I couldn’t applaud her more for it. It is a personal question that can make women feel pressured, uncomfortable and distressed.

I’m sure the interviewer didn’t mean to cause offence but his ignorant notion has certainly highlighted a vital conversation about the expectations placed on women when they reach their 30s.

The issue of disposable/single use plastics has garnered national and international attention in recent years. A recent government funded study estimated that up to 200 million single use coffee cups are used in Ireland every year and these are not recyclable, that is 22,000 cups every hour.

The Co-Cup Scheme aims to reduce this figure by implementing a deposit and return scheme for reusable cups in Dublin. The pilot project which is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and run by 2GoCup Ltd will initially be rolled out in a number of locations including campuses at Dublin City University, Trinity College Dublin and in Dublin City Council’s Civic Offices.

Under the pilot scheme when someone purchases a tea/ coffee, there is an additional charge of €1 – a deposit for the cup and when they return their cup they get their €1 back. A lid can also be purchased for €1, which can be kept and re-used.

Fionnghuala Ryan, Executive Environmental Scientific Officer, Dublin City Council said” The City Council is delighted to be involved in this exciting pilot project. With funding from the EPA’s Local Authority Prevention Network, Co-Cup hopes to be the beginning of the deposit and return revolution in Ireland. We want to prove that it can be done and to drive behaviour change.”

The President of Dublin City University, Professor Brian MacCraith commented “I’m delighted that two of Dublin’s universities, one young and one not so young, are coming together with Dublin City Council to provide a leadership example for our shared city. The Co-Cup initiative is an innovative and practical measure that will enable every citizen to play a central role in reducing waste and contributing to sustainability. Solutions such as this will also help DCU to achieve its commitment to become the first university in Ireland to phase out single-use plastics.”

Michele Hallahan, Sustainability Advisor, for Trinity College Dublin commented “This is truly a collaborative project between Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, and Dublin City Council and very much in keeping with Trinity’s Disposable Plastic Plan and other Circular Economy initiatives which contribute towards a more sustainable campus. The climate crisis needs to be addressed through collaborative rather than competitive forces, and this is a collaboration we're delighted to be involved in.”

It’s fantastic to see such progressive steps taken to tackle single use cups and we look forward to it continuing across our city and further afield.”

The project team hopes that the pilot scheme will test the social acceptance and business case for a deposit and return scheme in Ireland and that lessons learned will allow them to learn how to progress this project beyond the pilot stage.

Remember those egg-shaped digital pets that everyone had and didn't care proper care of?

If you don't, then you most likely weren't born in the 1990s…Those were the days. With the Spice Girls and Westlife touring, not to mention all of the live-action Disney flicks, nostalgia is in vogue right now.

The cherry on the cake: Tamagotchi digital pets are coming back into our lives, whether you like it or not. They're the EXACT replicas of the ones we knew and adored in the 90s.

Tamagotchi digital pets are now on sale on Amazon, and the general public and internet communities have lost their damn minds, understandably.

The description on Amazon's website reads: "The Original Tamagotchi digital pet you loved back in 1997 is back with the original programming!"

"Feed it, turn lights on/off, play with it, give it medicine, flush after it's used the bathroom, check it's health and discipline your Tamagotchi if he bothers you when he's happy, fed and all cleaned up."

It continues; "Raise your Tamagotchi from egg to child to adult and how you take care of it will decide which of the seven adults you'll get." What an absolute chore…we want them all.

Japanese company Bandai created Tamagotchi's 20 years ago, and first released them in 1997. They became one of the most popular toys of the 90s at rapid speed, and taught kids about basic responsibilities.

Pretty much every one of us had to deal with the digital death of our pets, but all was grand because of that sweet reset button at the back. Reborn and rejuvenated…here we go again.

Peter Jenkinson, resident toy expert, was interviewed by LADbible a few years ago and said;

"It was the first truly 'real time' toy – you didn't need to make it do stuff, it did stuff that you then had to react to. It was always on, always with you, you had little/no control over it and it was without doubt the first truly virtual pet that behaved like it had its own personality/destiny. In a way, a very early example of how AI might pan out."

"It was ahead of its time and although tech has evolved hugely this past two decades, our love of nostalgia hasn't diminished."

Dive back into your childhood and check out the multi-coloured options available online, with prices starting from around €22. It costs to go back in time, evidently.

Now that the biggest and most streamed television show of ALL TIME is finally over, whatever will we do with our sad lives?

We've got no more character deaths to mourn, no more badass dragon 'Dracarys' moments, and no more twists and fan theories to obsess over. All seems lost.

Never fear, Game of Thrones fanatics, for a prequel series has already begun filming in Belfast. That's right: Bloodmoon is coming. Here's everything you need to know…

While George RR Martin still hasn't written the last two books (for the love of God, hurry up), he's been working on the much-anticipated prequel which was tentatively called, The Long Night but later became Bloodmoon.

HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys told the Hollywood Reporter last year, “We’re shooting the pilot in June.”

“This is a pilot, so we’re doing it the old-fashioned way, which is shooting a pilot. My expectation is it will be great."

Fans have spotted parts of the set popping up around Belfast at The Paint Hall in the Titanic Quart, and it looks absolutely amazing.

The Paint Hall was once where the component parts of ships were painted in climate controlled conditions, according to inews.co.uk, and the same studio was used to shoot many of GOT's renowned interior shots.

Game of Thrones author George RR Martin claims the premise is set some 10,000 years before the events of current GOT times, and "really puts the 'pre' in prequel."

"Since it is set not 90 years before Game of Thrones, or a few hundred years, but rather ten thousand years.” The show will begin during the Age of Heroes, and chronicles how the world descended into darkness.

Bloodmoon follow's the continent's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. The period is named for the men and women who lives in the years of peace after the First Man and Children of the Forest signed a pact.

From the horrifying history of Westeros to the origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries and secret legends are set to be spine-chilling. The Children of the Men created the White Walkers, so both groups will presumably play a strong role in the show.

Among the heroes of the time are Bran the Builder, who built the famous Wall and Winterfell, and founded House Stark. Lann the Clever, who started the Lannister bloodline, will also be involved.

Around 8,000 years before Aegon I Targaryen conquered Westeros, the Long Night took place. During the Age of Heroes, this brutal winter lasted a generation and the White Walkers came into existence.

Fan faves may be making an appearance in younger form, but Martin dispelled this myth in his blog posts;

"Nnone of the characters or actors from Game of Thrones will appear in the new show." It's all new characters for us to enjoy, and Casey Bloys also confirmed that this world will be entirely different.

“I want the original Game of Thrones to be its own thing. I don’t want to take characters from this world that they did beautifully and put them off into another world with someone else creating it."

“George has a massive, massive world; there are so many ways in. That’s why we’re trying to do things that feel distinct — and to not try and redo the same show.”

The actors who have already been cast in the show are definitely ones to watch, we're so excited to see what their characters will bring:

Naomi Watts is heading the new cast, and the English actress is set to play “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret”.

Naomi Ackie has also been cast, who is most known for her role in 2016's Lady Macbeth and will feature in the next instalment of the Star Wars saga: Episode IX

Irish actress Denise Gough will also be included, and Jamie Campbell Bower of Fantastic Beasts fame.

He is known for roles in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Caius in The Twilight Saga, and the young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter's spin-off franchise.

Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans, Black Mirror), George Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Alex Sharp (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Toby Regbo (Mr. Nobody, The Last Kingdom) and Sheila Atim (Twelfth Night) have also been confirmed for the prequel.

Many of the actors are relatively new on the scene, so these roles could be the making of their careers. George RR Martin is creating the series in collaboration with Jane Goldman.

Goldman is familiar with most people for her writing work on films such as X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass and the Kingsman franchise. They wrote the tale together and will executive-produce, with Goldman writing the teleplay.

Vince Gerardis, who executive-produced Game of Thrones, is also signed on to help with Bloodmoon, which isn't the only GOT spin-off in the pipeline.

It's rumoured that three more are reportedly in pre-production, but Brian Cogman's prequel is not going ahead. George R.R. Martin also shared his massive workload with fans;

“I’ve got five shows in development at HBO (some having nothing whatsoever to do with the world of Westeros), two at Hulu, one on the History Channel,” he said. “I’m involved with a number of feature projects, some based upon my own stories and books, some on material created by others."

white walker prepare for winter GIF by Game of Thrones

“There are these short films I am hoping to make, adaptations of classic stories by one of the most brilliant, quirky, and original writers our genre has ever produced.”

In terms of when it might air, HBO's Casey Bloys told the Hollywood Reporter, “You can do the math and figure out when it would be on the air.” Translation: Not for a while.

“What I’m not doing is working backwards by saying, ‘This has to be on the air by this date,'” he said. “We want to do the best show possible. I don’t want to speculate any dates.”

Former Westlife band-member and current has-been Brian McFadden has weighed in on the whole Brexit situation, and it's a hot mess.

He's essentially pulling a Kanye West and has caused an absolute scene on Twitter, where numerous Irish citizens effectively excommunicated him from the island of Ireland. Rightfully so.

McFadden chose to speak out on the two hottest and most controversial topics of 2019: Donald Trump and Brexit. Unfortunately, the world has noticed his tweet and is laughing at him mercilessly.

We can only hope he was drunk when he composed this tweet, but we suspect he was sober. It began safely enough: "The fact that Boris, Farage and Jeremy are the front runners to be Prime Minister is scary! Britain is fu*ked! Literally f*cked!"

Now, here's where it all went wrong; "Incredible how many Brits jump on the anti-Trump bandwagon. He’s exactly what Britain needs! A Britain first at all costs attitude is essential." The typo and expletive-strewn Tweet was seen by thousands, who unfortunately realised his Irish heritage.

Who knows why the sort-of singer passed such odd judgement on the upcoming Tory leadership battle in the UK and America's cesspit of right-wing horror. The reactions to his rant were, we must say, hilarious.

"England's Brian McFadden is a disgrace to his country," wrote Mallow News, offering him as a sacrifice to the country he seems to think he's part of already.

This next one is absolutely savage, he's going to need serious aloe vera for these burns;

"Have you thought of maybe dialling back the fascism a bit, Bri? Like they did with your vocal when you were in Westlife…" Doctor, we need someone to resuscitate this man.

Another Twitter user rightfully pointed out that it's fairly impossible to hate Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage and Jeremy Corbyn but love Trump at the same time? The tweet contradicts itself entirely:

"I… I'm so confused. This is like two completely polar opposite tweets mashed together. How can you hate Boris and Farage, yet love Trump? They're basically evil triplets?!?!" We're just as confused as you, Rachael.

As if this wasn't bad enough, well-known transphobic misogynist Graham Linehan commented, "Off, I thought you were done embarrassing Ireland." Literally not a single solitary soul asked for one Irish disgrace coming in to smack down another Irish disgrace. The neck.

Another eagle-eyed internet member pointed out that this isn't the first time Brian McFadden has said some pretty dumb stuff online…

Yes, you read that correctly. "If you're not gay, a man should not be wearing pink…Saying pink is a form of red is like saying homosexuality is a form of male."

WOW…his masculinity is clearly as fragile as a glass slipper. There's too much to unpack when it comes to that statement in a single article, but I think we can all agree that the chap is cancelled.

According to his Peaky Blinders Twitter header, he seems to fantasize about joining some type of gang…let's remember he once said he'd fight ISIS in man-to-man hand combat.

"I don't think you're sufficiently relevant enough to play that card, Bri," another Twitter comedian pointed out.

The 39-year-old is getting DRAGGED online and we'd better be putting on some popcorn.

Breaking news: Brian McFadden is actually now the front-runner to be the UK's next Prime Minister.

The tea is positively scorching, so keep an eye out for even more hilarious hot takes on McFadden's 180-degree turn. Someone confiscate the lad's Irish passport, he's not worthy.

Bridget Jones is one of the most iconic female characters ever. She’s wacky, and goofy, and her love for giant granny knickers is way more relatable than we’d like to admit.

Many women have sought comfort in Bridget, whether that was through the wonderful books by Helen Fielding, or through the movies starring Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.

Bridget returned to the big screen in Bridget Jones’s Baby, and even though she finally got her happy ending, it looks like Bridget isn’t finished just yet.

Renée Zellweger recently revealed she is eager to do a fourth installment of the iconic franchise.

She told The Talk that she would definitely be interested in doing a fourth film.

The actress joked: ““Bridget Jones: The Menopause. No, I know Helen’s [Fielding] written the book, and I love this character. So, I mean, if they call me, I’ll go running.”

Renée previously told The Daily Record that she would gladly do a fourth movie as she loves the character so much, “I really hope so. I do. I love her. She's so much fun."

"I really like the place she is at in her life, but it's Bridget and there's always going to be some drama. She's so perfectly imperfect,” she added.

Would you watch another Bridget Jones movie or was Bridget Jones’s Baby the perfect ending for everyone’s favourite heroine?

Top 3 Benefits Of Owning A Personal Oil Diffuser

There is a new big hit on the market and it appears to be grabbing people’s attention for a reason! I’m talking about the personal essential oil diffuser. It looks like a pen, but its functions and effects are far more important. In fact, the only thing they have in common with pens is the compact design that makes this product easily portable and always right there at your fingertips. Related content.

What’s In It For You?

Still, there’s much more to these products than the beautiful design. I suppose you are familiar with the effects and benefits of essential oils. But, have you ever tried using them this way, with your very own diffuser? If you haven’t, then I suggest you do that right now, since all the essential oil benefits you are already aware of will be enhanced with this practical product.

Now, with all the talk about these diffusers and essential oils, I take it that you must be a little bit confused. There is so much info you can find, and that is bound to leave you slightly puzzled. Fortunately, there’s always a way to put things into perspective and get the facts straight. You simply need to take your time and do your research.

And that’s exactly what I did! So, now I am going to share my findings with you. This way, you will know what to expect from these products. There are a lot of ways in which you can benefit from personal oil diffusers, and it’s about time you get acquainted with some of those ways. So, without further ado, I present you with the benefits of personal diffusers.

Stress And Anxiety Relief

Raise your hand if you have never, ever been stressed in your life. Have you raised it? Me neither. Stress and a certain level of anxiety seem to have become a part of our normal lifestyles. And yet, sometimes, you just need to get away from it all and get any kind of a relief even if it is temporary in nature. Some businesses, along with this company, provide instant relief with a little help of essential oils.

Specific types of essential oils, such as cinnamon or sage, are known for providing a calming effect and increasing the blood flow to your brain. By using your personal diffuser with these oils, you will feel your blood pressure decrease and your heart rate lower. I’m not saying this will put a smile on your face (that’s exactly what I’m saying), but stress and anxiety won’t stand a chance against this product.

Quality Of Sleep Enhancement

If you’ve been having trouble sleeping, I suppose you have received a lot of tips for solving this issue. Everybody seems to know the best way to do it, but their best ways simply don’t seem to work that well on you. Well, this can depend from individual to individual, to be honest. So, instead of blaming someone for trying to help you and failing, why don’t you try and find “your best way”?

I strongly suggest you start your search with a personal essential oil diffuser containing ingredients such as lavender, grapefruit, and lemongrass. These are all highly effective in getting you relaxed, while lavender is even used for treating insomnia. Use this product before getting into bed and I am sure that you will wake up fresh and ready to seize the day. What’s more important –

Cognitive Functions Improvement

We have all had those days when we simply cannot focus on anything important. No matter how hard we try, there’s always a distraction. Or, what’s even worse, we focus on one task, but that very task seems so daunting and difficult that we end up not completing it after all. And that’s rather discouraging.

If this has happened to you, there’s a chance that you thought you weren’t capable of completing that task. But, that’s simply not true. It’s just that your cognitive functions were slightly hindered on a particular day. Personal diffusers are a great way to improve those cognitive functions, focus on what needs to be done and do it efficiently.

We genuinely thought that reality television stars in this day and age earned their fare share of cash, otherwise why are they so hell-bent on staying relevant?

Apparently not this year. According to The Daily Star, the stars of 2019's Love Island will be paid just £250 a week this summer. That's not even minimum wage, so it's fairly surprising.

Thousands of young men and women have applied to appear on the ITV2 show this year, despite the recent suicides of ex-contestants Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.

The winners of the cash prize receive £50,000… which is quite the step up from their weekly wages. Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham won the competition last year, and earned plenty more through sponsorships and appearances,

However, some past contestants claim the show fails to properly prepare the participants for the difficulties of appearing in public and on social media.

Mental health struggles, trolling and depression have been raised as issues which the series allegedly contributes to. Many who made the final line-up have quit their jobs or been granted extended leave to join the Spanish villa, but is it worth it?

The Daily Star have affirmed that the ITV bosses are paying the islanders just £250 a week to  “compensate” for giving up time to be on the show. If they last the entire eight weeks, they bag £2,000, which isn't much.

The majority of contestants only last a couple of days, and get just £250 as a result. One source said: “Everyone now knows that stepping into that villa brings good and bad things.

“They risk coming out and being trolled on Twitter, their dreams of being a big reality star dashed, work dries up and ending up feeling depressed and having issues.”
