Reality TV veterans Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have revealed the sex of their expected child

Spilling the beans to US Weekly, the couple told the gossip tome that they are having a baby boy.

Spencer revealed his reaction to the news when the doctor called to tell him the sex.

'I ran into the room and said, "It’s the doctor’s office!”' he told Us Weekly.

'The doctor said, "It’s a boy!" I started screaming''

Heidi also told US that she had secretly been hoping for a mini-Spencer.

'It was in my heart to have a boy,' she said.

'I thought Spencer really used to want a boy, and then a few months ago we had a conversation where he said, “Let’s just make sure it’s healthy. Boy or girl, I don’t care.”'

Congratulations to the pair, who recently celebrated their 8-year wedding anniversary.

If you've been trawling through the world of niche fashionistas on social media, then you may have noticed a few fashion fans utilising a very unusual item into their looks.

The Ikea bag is having a moment, albeit a satirical one.

The Ikea Frakta bag is being used to create new and unusual style statements, after Balenciaga was accused of creating a bag that looked shocking similar to the blue plastic tote.

A post shared by LCI Barcelona (@lci_barcelona) on

The home furnishings store sells the bags for €0.70, while Balenciaga is selling their similar style for over €2000.00.

People are now getting creative when adopting the new trend into their wardrobes.

Creatives are clearly taking the p*** a little bit with their looks, but it's actually taking off.

Logos are having a fashion moment anyway, so why can't we pay homage to the homewear behemoth?

From sandals to chokers to full-on tops, we're obsessed with Ikea inspired Instagram posts.

All we need now is a Frakta bag and a pair of scissors….

Body positivity has come along leaps and bounds in recent years, and Instagram is a complete hot bed of positive, feel good affirmations that remind us to love the skin we are in.

One body-pos poster is Hannah Foster, who has taken to the social media sharing site to give her followers a before and after snapshot like no other.

The image shows Hannah at two different weights, but says that she is now happier being heavier, and explains why.

A post shared by Hannah (@lavidahannah) on

'Transformations aren't always what they seem. Pic on the right is after losing almost 100 pounds in 2012,' she began, captioning the before and after shot.

'It was one of the first times I had ever allowed anyone to take a picture of me in a bikini (and only because it was my first time swimming in the ocean).'

'The girl on the left hated herself vastly more than the girl on the right, even though she weighed 30 pounds less than right-girl.'

A post shared by Hannah (@lavidahannah) on

'She was in a nasty relationship, living abroad and lonely, and despite losing weight STILL HATED HER BODY. Losing weight won't make you love yourself…' she explained.

'Pic on the right is after 25 years of realising that losing 5 pounds won't make me a better person, it won't make me like myself, and most importantly it won't make me happy.'

'I go to the gym, I eat healthy, but it's not for weight loss; it's because I only get one body and I want to use it as long as possible.'

A post shared by Hannah (@lavidahannah) on

'Eating 800 calories a day isn't taking care of your body, even if it makes you skinny. (Eating that little is part of what made gain weight, I was starving my body.)'.

We can totally get behind this message, because at the end of the day it really, really isn't what the scale says that matters.

Back in April, a number of celebrities and influencers received warnings from the Federal Trade Commission reminding them to be transparent when promoting products on social media.

90 letters were sent out to influencers and the brands they were working with to clarify the guidelines on how to post sponsored pictures and videos to social media.

The letters highlighted how to do it without violating the American organisation’s disclosure guidelines.

Now, Women's Wear Daily has procured a list of celebs and influencers who received the not-so-gentle reminders that sponsored posts must be clearly marked as such.

The list included the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Jen Selter, Shay Mitchell, Heidi Klum, Lilly Ghalichi, Amber Rose, Emily Ratajkowski and Ashley Benson.

According to WWDthe letters read:

'The FTC’s Endorsement Guides state that if there is a ‘material connection’ between the endorser and the marketer of a product — in other words, a connection that might affect the weight or credibility that consumers give the endorsement — that connection should be clearly and conspicuously disclosed, unless the connection is already clear from the context of the communication containing the endorsement.'

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

'Material connections could consist of a business or family relationship, monetary payment, or the provision of free products to the endorser.'

The FTC explained that the disclosure of advertisements via social media influencers should be clear, conspicuous and use 'unambiguous language' that wont be mistaken for an organic post.

With social media comments proving that fans of celebs and influencers want more transparency from their icons, this move can only be positive in the pursuit of regulation within the online influencer industry.

There is nothing better than heading out for brunch with the girls every Sunday, or sharing dinner and drinks with your partner, but all that fanciful feasting can add up.

A new survey has revealed how much the average Irish person spends eating outside the home every month, and it tots up to a grand total of about €100.00.

Around 55 per cent of people spend over €100.00 to eat out each month, while only 7% spend less than €50.00.

The survey by Taste of Dublin also showed that almost four out of ten of us eat out at least once a week.

Irish women are also more likely to eat out weekly, with 40 per cent of us paying the brunch bill once a week, when compared with Irish men.

The lads were just behind us in the polls however, with 35 per cent enjoying a meal out each week.

Only 8 per cent of frugal foodies eat out less than once per month or rarely.

The survey also portrayed  the importance of bar and restaurant reviews to food fans, who make sure to look up public opinion of a venue before sinking their teeth in.

84 per cent of people say they are more likely to head to a well-received restaurant, with only 3 per cent saying they don’t read reviews.

A post shared by Genevieve Taylor (@genevieveeats) on

'Most of us are spending over €100 each month eating out, which reflects the demand for tables we are seeing in Irish restaurants and matches the anecdotal stories we are hearing from our expert chefs and restaurants,' said Taste of Dublin Managing Director Avril Bannerton.

Now we're hungry…

There is a lot of pressure on women to look good on their big day, with a bridal culture which dictates looking your absolute best.

After all, those pictures are forever (hopefully).

Some women choose to lose weight for their trip down the aisle, but one bride is extending her diet and exercise policy to include her bridesmaids.

Sheena Malik is about to be the maid of honour at her bestie Ashley's wedding, and while Ashley is shedding the pounds for the big day, Sheena has been asked by the bride to do the same.

Ashley, who has already lost two-and-a-half stone in the lead up, has asked Sheena to drop 15 pounds to become a svelte maid of honour.

'Wedding photos are shared more now, so it’s important to look good,' Sheena, from Southern California, told the New York Post.

We'd be a bit miffed if our bestie asked us to lose weight for her wedding, but apparently it's a thing.

Making no qualms about her request, Ashley said: 'I need everyone on board.'

'I want everyone to feel and look beautiful,'  she reportedly explained to the NYP.

From fishtail braids to ombre dresses, there are plenty of wedding trends we can get behind, but we're not a fan of this one.

What do you think?

The remains of Alan Hawe, a primary school deputy principal, who murdered his wife and three children last year, has been exhumed from the family grave in the town of Castlerahan, Co Cavan.

Following a request for the exhumation in March, Mr Hawe's remains were removed from the small graveyard beside St Mary's Church and will be taken to Glasnevin Crematorium today.

The decision to bury Mr Hawe alongside the woman and three children he murdered, before taking his own life last August, sparked heated discussion in Ireland at the time.

At first light, undertakers, in the presence of Gardaí, HSE staff and Cavan County Council officials, removed the remains following his family's decision to separate him from his four family members.

Under the terms of the licence the body must be reburied or cremated within 48 hours.

We've all had days where it feels like the universe is conspiring against us and we're just ill-equipped to face the upset head-on.

We all also have various ways of dealing with it; some people simply wait for the mood to pass, others actively seek out support and others lament the day they were born.

But it sounds like these typical responses may take longer to kick in when compared to a technique advised by writer Judi Ketteler who recently wrote on the subject of low moods for The New York Times.

It seems a surefire way to alter your perspective on a situation or instigate a change in mood is to… wait for it… do a handstand.

"The more uncertain, angry, fearful or confused you feel, the more you need to plant your hands on the ground, kick your feet directly above you, and let all those negative emotions drain right back into the earth," she asserted.

"In our most vulnerable times, we tend to look up, whether for a prayer or a primal scream. We search out a higher something in the clouds. It feels like truth is above us and we are stuck on the ground, unable to figure out where we fit in."

"If you have been upright nearly every moment of your life and then you are upside-down – well, that feels different," she wrote.

"Your body experiences space with a new orientation. That experience alone is a worthwhile endeavour, because seeing the world differently for a minute can sometimes put the right-sided world in perspective."

Literally speaking, it makes sense, but emotionally, we don't imagine our problem will seem any smaller just because we have our face centimeters from the ground.

But hey, some days we'll try anything…

It's fair to say that one of the reasons Snapchat's presence and popularity grew exponentially in such a short period of time was mainly down to its unique selling point – the disappearing act.

Images sent via the app were only available for a limited amount of time before the media disappeared for all eternity, but that's all changed following an announcement made this week.

As of yesterday, Snapchat users can avail of an 'infinity feature' which allows their friends and followers to view a snap for as long as they choose.

Taking to their blog to explain the rationale behind the switch-up, they said: "Today we’re making a pretty big change to the way you create and send Snaps."

"We’ve all felt the frustration of not being able to fully enjoy a Snap – even after replaying it – and we wanted to give you the option of allowing the recipient to enjoy your Snap as long as they’d like. After your friend finishes viewing the Snap and taps to close it, it will delete as usual."

In addition to this, the powers that be have restructured the layout of their creative tools and included the addition of a magic eraser.

"These changes allow us to continue evolving the Snapchat service and provide a foundation for introducing even more creative tools for making fun Snaps," they said.

Well, this changes everything… potentially.

Ticket touting has been a source of considerable discontent in Ireland for decades.

Whether it's for a sporting fixture or music event, the sale of overpriced tickets on the secondary market sparks much heated discussion.

However, it looks like moves are being made to make it a criminal offence following submissions to a public consultation this week.

According to emerging reports, the GAA and the FAI have expressed support for the introduction of legislation which will seek to regulate ticket resale on the secondary market.

Commenting on the proposed legislation, the GAA said: "The current legislation in no way reflects the technological developments of recent decades."

"Touting in its various forms should be classified as a criminal activity with appropriate penalties in place, whether this be on the street, online or private trading of tickets above face value or fraudulent tickets online sites."

Ticketmaster, however, has railed against the idea, stating that the potential move will not yield the desired results.

Confirming their stance on the matter, they said: "Any legislation in Ireland will simply achieve the same effect as seen elsewhere; resale will not cease, it will go offshore and underground – out of the reach of the consumer protection authorities."

The submissions were received by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, with Minister Mary Mitchell O'Connor asserting that the 'widest possible debate' must be undertaken before a decision is drawn on the matter.
