Anxious flyer?

Well, this US airport has just come up with THE best way to calm down it's nervous passengers.

Miniature horses.

Yep.

Cincinnati/Northern Ohio Airport has introduced a bimonthly visit from 34 therapy miniature horses, in a bid to ease the worries of it's stressed out passengers.

According to The Independent, the airport had originally looked into starting a dog therapy programme, but when they heard about these little cuties, the knew they were on to something special.

The horses have been specially trained to deal with the airport's stressful environment and are already so popular that passengers are even scheduling flight around their visits.

Speaking to NRP, airport worker, Airport worker Wendi Orlando said, ''It's just to ease anxiety levels, put smiles on faces. Clearly that's working''

“When you look at the passengers walking by, it just never gets old. They love seeing the horses.”

Horse owner, Lisa Moad, told NPR that the response from passenger was unbelievable: “A lot of them thank us for being there at that time because they needed that little bit of support before they get on the plane.”

We know where we're going on our next holiday anyway.

So, it's no secret that we Irish like the odd drink or two, but how much alcohol are we actually consuming compared to our European counterparts?

Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) collaborated with colleagues from more than 40 European countries, and have finally come up with a clear answer.

As part of the  European Social Survey, a large study conducted every two years in around 30 European countries, researchers asked almost 2000 participant's questions based on their health, lifestyle and drinking habits.

Rather unsurprisingly, the Irish were found to drink the most overall, while Portugal and Britain topped the list when it came to binge-drinking.

Terje Andreas Eikemo, professor of sociology at NTNU, explained how these findings will help identify the measures that need to be taken in order to curb alcohol consumption.

"In the past, we could say that drinking alcohol and smoking affect people's health, for example. Now we can go farther back in the causal chain, and identify where measures should be taken."

The study also confirmed a link between social status and excessive alcohol consumption.

"Overall alcohol consumption is highest in the upper social strata, but binge drinking is most common in the lower social strata,'' he explains.

What's more, European men were found to have consumed almost twice as many units of alcohol as women, with women in Israel and Central and Eastern Europe found to drink the least.

Harry Styles unveiled his self-titled debut solo album on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 show this morning, and of course the host just had to ask the question on everyone's lips – which track is about Taylor Swift?

Harry and Nick have developed a solid friendship through the years, so the Radio 1 breakfast presenter had no problem asking the star whether his song Two Ghosts was about his former flame.

The Sign of the Times singer, whose years of media training had been leading up to this moment, replied, "I think it's pretty, like, self-explanatory."

"I think, y'know it's about sometimes things change and you can do all the same things… and sometimes it's just different, y'know?"

Acknowledging the fact he had completely dodged the question, the former One Direction star jokingly added, "2017, philosopher, London."

The conversation was cut short by Nick's introduction to the track: "So here we go, the one about Taylor Swift" to which Harry protested "ahhhh, oh no!".

Twitter took the singer reaction as solid confirmation, and reacted just how you'd expect.

Harry's self-titled debut solo album is out now.

Every city has a handful of unique destinations which appeal to die-hard fashionistas who know that bang for your buck is still possible even at designer label level.

And Dublin’s comes in the shape of Designer Exchange on Dawson Street.

Having opened its doors in 2012, the store, which is a veritable haven for handbag-lovers, has a philosophy which encourages the consumer to look at their designer purchase from a different perspective.

Instead of committing themselves to a lifelong investment in Chanel, Birkin or Vuitton, customers can – if they choose – trade their purchase back at a later date.

So, let’s say you buy a bag for €1,000 that probably cost €1,800 brand new. If you decide after a year that you want to trade it back to Designer Exchange , they then give you, for example, €600 for it.

You use the €600 against your next purchase, therefore your first purchase only cost you €400 for a full year of use.

And yes ladies, that boils down to €33 per month or €8 a week!

Speaking our language, owner, Paddy Coughlan, says: “A bag is for everyone, but 10 inch stilettos aren’t. A bag or accessory no longer just completes a look, a look can be built around it.”

“I’ve heard ladies say that they like to wear a colour, but they love to wear a particular bag.”

“I love the joy I see when we make it possible for a lady to get her dream bag, something she may have thought unattainable until she could take part in our instalment plan and/or part exchange.”

Interestingly, over 60 per cent of Designer Exchanges sales come via posts on Facebook, with many items snapped up within minutes of them hitting the store’s social media platforms.

And we may be responsible for more than a few…

Meet Terry and Anna.

The newly crowned king and queen of romantic marriage proposals.

Anna wore her engagement ring around her neck for an entire year – and she didn't have a clue.

See, Terry concealed the ring in a necklace he made to celebrate the couple's first anniversary in 2015, but never told her what was inside.

"She absolutely loved it," he told GoodHousekeeping. "She wore it every day and everywhere we went, and pretty much never took it off."

It wasn't until Terry popped the question in Scotland in November 2016 that the hidden treasure was revealed.

"I picked Smoo Cave because it was a place we had talked about visiting since we first met, and 'smoo' comes from an old Norse word for 'hiding place,' so I think I get extra points for that one"

"Before we actually went down to the cave, I asked if I could have the necklace to take some photos of it among the rocks, which gave me the chance to break the seal with the knife," explained Terry.

The hopeless romantic then got down on one knee and revealed the ring that Anna had been carrying with her for months.

Of course she said yes!

"Now, with anything else I give her, she always inspects to see if something is hidden inside!"

Big congrats to the happy couple!

Saving money can be pretty hard, and budgeting is all part of the process.

Unfortunately if you're anything like us, strict financial planning goes straight out the window once we see those must-have shoes on ASOS or we have a big event coming up that requires fiscal preparation.

Luckily, a psychologist has finally given us the answer as to why it's just so freakin' hard to keep things on track financially.

‘I think the entire concept of budgeting is flawed,’ psychologist and financial planner Brad Klontz told The Science of Us.

‘Your emotional brain responds to the word budget the same way it responds to the word diet.'

'The connotation is deprivation, suffering, agony, depression.’

Sounds legit, there's nothing we want more than a slice of pizza on day one of a new healthy eating regime.

The strict principles of being on a budget can make you focus more on the things you want to spend money on, but know that you can't, which is what makes budgeting all the more difficult.

According to the psychologist, the trick to making a budget work is to treat it more like a spending plan than a spending fast, by planning out the things that you can and will spend on rather than cutting out the things you don't want to splurge on.

It's essentially the same as budgeting, but a bit of reverse psychology never hurt anyone, especially your bank balance.

Our Instagram feeds would feel incomplete without a stylised snap of our superfood salad, or a table flat lay shot of Sunday brunch, mimosas included.

But according to new research, we shouldn't actually be snapping photos of our food before we dig in.

As well as the social faux pas of making our food go cold and preventing everyone at the table from eating in the pursuit of the perfect picture, a study has shown that paying too much detail to the appearance of our food makes us enjoy the overall experience less.

Overexposure to food, brought on by looking at it for ages to create that gorgeous picture, leads to pre-satiation.

The study established 'sensory simulations as an important mechanism underlying satiation, and provides behavioural evidence that simple evaluations can produce sensory-specific satiety.'

This basically means that you're bored of the food before you even start eating it, and where's the fun in that?

'When we Instagram, we inherently must focus our attention on the item in the picture, even for that very brief moment,' the paper's co-author Professor Joseph Redden told The Independent

'This can have a range of effects on later enjoyment.'

So essentially, spending so much time 'gramming your food means that you're taking less time to enjoy it, which can ultimately lead to you not getting as much satisfaction from the meal as you could have.

And we'd much rather eat the perfect meal at it's best than get a few extra likes on Insta.

The printed and purchasable Harry Potter series is amazing enough, so we can't imagine how powerful and riveting a rare, short-story prequel of the series is.

Such a prequel, handwritten by author J.K. Rowling on a postcard, has been stolen during a burglary in England.

Police are appealing for help from muggles to locate the stolen story.

'The only people who will buy this unique piece are true Harry Potter fans,' said Investigating Officer PC Paul Jauncey.

'We are appealing to anyone who sees, or is offered this item for sale to contact police.'

JK Rowling has also taken to Twitter to ask Harry Potter fans to be on the lookout for the 800-word story, which is set three years before Harry Potter is born.

'Please don't buy this if you're offered it,' tweeted the author.

The short story sold at a charity auction in 2008 for €30,000.

'Originally auctioned for @englishpen, the owner supported writers' freedoms by bidding for it,' she said.
