Ireland is a country renowned for it's soundness, and 'the people' is often cited as the best thing about living on our little island.

With all the negative things going on in the world right now, it's important to remember just how sound people in our lives truly are.

Pieta House have created a brand new campaign to remind us exactly how much the Irish phenomenon of soundness really impacts our day to day lives – and the campaign is about to go viral.

#SoundEffect is kicking off today in the lead up to and during Electric Picnic, and aims to get the people of Ireland to share how being sound can help our minds and our lives on the daily.

From grabbing your work wife a Starbucks on your way to work to simply being there for someone when they need you, little acts of soundness can create a wave of positivity.

'Considering the levels of apathy and negativity we are constantly exposed to, and which can become at times overwhelming, it’s important to highlight the empathy, inherent goodness and level of social consciousness that exist throughout the vast majority of society. Now more than ever,' said Paula McLoughlin, Chair and Acting CEO of A Lust For Life.

If you have an act of soundness to contribute, head over to Twitter and use the hashtag #SoundEffect to spread the positivity.

The hype has been building up for weeks now, and with the fight mere days away, Deliveroo has managed to find a way to intensify the excitement surrounding the McGregor vs Mayweather clash.

With the highly-publicised event due to air on Irish television from midnight this Saturday, the good folk at Deliveroo realised that the people of Ireland would likely be crying out for a snack or two in the early hours of Sunday morning.

And with that in mind, they made the decision to extend their delivery hours, meaning that Irish fans can tuck into a whole host of grub while watching Conor McGregor take on Floyd Mayweather at the billion-dollar fight.

Commenting on the stellar marketing move, General Manager of Deliveroo Ireland, Liam Keenan said: "The McGregor versus Mayweather fight will no doubt be a big TV moment for Ireland."

"We’re thrilled that our customers in Dublin who are watching the fight will be able to satisfy their late-night munchies through Deliveroo from a selection of well known participating restaurants."

Supermac’s, Eddie Rocket’s, Papa John’s, Burritos & Blues, Abrakebabra and Aleena India in Dublin city centre will be participating in the extended hours.

And that's the early hours of Sunday morning sorted, ladies.

How many times have you brought your size jeans into the dressing room, only to find that you'd need a winch and possibly some kind of denim-friendly lubricant to get them up over your thighs?

No matter what store you walk in to, finding you size can be a little difficult thanks to the massive size difference brand-to-brand.

The high street is being called out for its massive size discrepancies, and today it's H&M that's in the spotlight.

Twitter user Samantha Bell took to the social media site to share a snap of two pairs of jeans, both in a size 16, from H&M and Penneys.

The size difference is blatant, with the H&M jeans being three quarters of the size of the Penneys ones.

This definitely isn't the first time that social media has been used to call out the murky measurements.

Body positivity blogger Katy recently went viral thanks to her eye opening picture showcasing these sizing issues to great effect.

The fitness and lifestyle guru showed herself trying on two pairs of jeans from different stores, both in a size 10.

The drastic difference in fit is pretty evident in her post.

There are so many possible reasons for this, from vanity sizing (where a label is marked as a smaller size than it is to make the customer feel good) to international sizing measurements not quite translating country to country.

Despite being called out multiple times, it seems that high street brand owners just do not want to sit down and agree on a universal measurment for each size.

Here's to hoping that the constant calls for a better system will be heard one of these days.

Ah, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, the perfect autumnal beverage and the ultimate accessory for the basic bitch.

We kid, the PSL is renowned for being delicious, and if saying that makes us a bunch of basic bitches, then we claim the title willingly.

Starbucks rolls out the warming drink every autumn, and PSL fans wait with eager anticipation for the drink to arrive.

A post shared by Disney Mummy (@disneymummy_uk) on

Now, one Reddit user is claiming that the frothy drink should be here a little sooner than usual this year.

They even shared a snap of the pumpkin spice sauce as evidence that PSL season is nigh, according to Bustle.

While there has been no confirmation from Starbucks yet, the drink could be arriving by September 5.

Starbucks workers have been taking to the thread site to tell excited Starbucks lovers about the build-up to PSL launch day.

The preparations include donning the Autumn Starbucks uniform and testing the secret PSL sauce.

We seriously cannot wait…

A writer from Hackney in London recently took to Twitter to reveal that he had been forbidden from adopting a cat due to his sexual orientation.

On Tuesday, Alex Andreou explained that he had travelled two hours through the city in an effort to re-home a cat only to be told that the person he was adopting the cat from 'strongly disagreed' with his lifestyle.

In a text exchange he uploaded to Twitter, Alex was grilled on his orientation, and was ultimately forced to ask whether being gay would be an issue.

"I am religious so I strongly disagree with the lifestyle. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings," replied the other person.

Appearing to take it on the chin, Alex responded: "Darling, I've been beaten and called a 'faggot' since I was 8. My feelings are quite robust. And, yes, sorry is precisely what you are."

Despite his succinct retort, Alex understandably felt deeply hurt by the person's attitude, telling Twitter, "So now I'm on the bus and I'm sobbing and people are staring at me because the truth is it hurts as much as when I was 8 years old."

Thankfully, the good people of London refused to let this incident pass without a happy ending, and set about contacting Alex in order to provide him with leads for other cats desperately in need of re-homing.

And as of yesterday morning, Alex is now the proud owner of two cats named George Meowchael-Andreou and Freddie Purrcury-Andreou.

"Hello Twitter. Here is your happy ending," Alex wrote in a post alongside two photos of his beautiful new pets.

"George and Freddie are part of a rescue litter. They're being neutered next Friday and will be in their new home with me shortly thereafter," Alex told his followers.

"Screw bigotry. Kindness wins. Over and out, Freddie, George, and Alex," he signed off.

We could not love this ending more.

"It's kind of weird because it sneaks up on you, you're like, 'I can't believe it's been eight months already!' And you're like, 'Oh my gosh, she needs to come out already!'" Laura told the hosts.

"But it's so wonderful, it's such a blessing. She likes it here, she's already kicking."

Laura, who is engaged to fellow actor Ben Foster, is understood to have given birth in recent weeks, but given her private nature, the name of the new arrival has yet to be revealed.

The time has come for autumnal dressing, and as the weather gets a little colder, it's time to add heavier fabrics into the sartorial mix.

Denim is a complete classic, but with an experimental autumn style season on our doorstep, there are so many ways to add some interesting denim to your day-to-day look.

We have broken down 10 easy-peasy, one item ways to incorporate new season denim into your life.

Topshop denim top €32.00, Style Soko jeans €25.00

First up, we have the denim bustier. Once the sole territory of 00s pop starlets, the underwear over outerwear trend has led to a resurgence of the bustier trend (and the Kardashians helped).

Wear it over a flowy embroidered dress or colour-pop t-shirt for serious styling credentials.

Next, these Vetements-inspired Style Soko jeans are doing the deconstructed denim trend in the best possible way.

Boohoo statement jeans €37.84 , ASOS Denim Jacket €60.00

Statement denim jeans have been doing the rounds, and these Boohoo jeans are combining both the ruffled and the fringed trends for this-season denim.

Pair with a white t-shirt and runners for Sunday brunch, or a slouchy shirt and loafers for the perfect work look.

As for a statement denim jacket, it doesn't get any more out-there than bright red leopard print. Your night-out coat has just been found.

River Island co-ord €132.00, Style Soko trench coat €25.00

A co-ord is the easiest way to create a cohesive look without the effort. This river island denim jacket and skirt combo will look amazing on a night out with bare legs and a crop top, and fab with a black turtle neck and tights in winter. The pearl detail is just a bonus.

Denim jackets are a complete classic, but adding some length to create a denim trench makes the shape all the more interesting. Add a hoodie and trousers underneath for a sports luxe vibe, or layer over a mini dress and boots for drinks with the gals.

Topshop orange denim skirt €40.00, River Island pearl embellished denim skirt  €45.00

Denim mini skirts have been back for the past few seasons, and the look isn't giving up it's place in our wardrobes any time soon.

Whether you opt for plain denim, a pop of colour-washed denim, or an embellished statement piece, a denim skirt will see you through autumn.

ASOS shearling jacket €65.00, Boohoo white denim jacket €47.30

Update a classic denim jacket with some new season additions.

Shearling is cementing it's place as one of autumn's most coveted textures, and a shearling and denim jacket looks amazing whatever the occasion.

For something a little edgier, introduce a lace up detail to your denim.

Ladies, loathe and all as we are to admit it, it seems summer is well and truly over.

(Even though we’re not entirely sure it ever really started, to be fair.)

And while thoughts of staring down another bleak winter don’t exactly enthuse, Dunnes have softened the blow massively with the launch of their Savida AW17 range.

Contrasting vibrant floral prints with embellished wools, the range is everything we adore about a season in which mixing and matching is almost compulsory.

Making a statement this Autumn has literally never been easier, and we are already eyeing up the newest additions to our wardrobe.

Ladies, we sense a shopping spree coming on.

Hollywood was left somewhat stunned earlier this month when word landed that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris had decided to part ways.

The couple, who married in 2009 and welcomed a baby son in 2012, appeared rock solid, so their decision to separate was met with shock by fans and followers in recent weeks.

"Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed," the Guardians of the Galaxy star wrote on Facebook.

"Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward."

"We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another," Chris confirmed in a post which racked up hundreds of thousands of reactions.

However, it looks like the couple aren't quite ready to give up on their nine-year relationship, with a source telling the Mail Online that the pair have decided to seek therapy to work on their issues.

"It’s been very intense, with Anna discussing how she feels isolated with Chris gone so much of the time and her career taking a backseat," the insider explained.

"Chris gets frustrated because Anna is in the industry, too, and knew the commitments involved when she married him.’

Despite the problems born of their hectic, high-profile lifestyle, the couple are reportedly determined to work through the problems together.

And frankly, this news has made our morning.

As rents in Ireland reach an all-time high, it's no real surprise that the public responded negatively to Bank of Ireland's recent campaign, which suggested that adult children should rely on their parents for financial support.

In a tweet which has since been deleted, Bank of Ireland encouraged adults to move back in with their parents in order to save for a mortgage.

"Orla and her boyfriend stopped renting and moved back with their parents to save the deposit for their 1st home," read the tweet which acted as an introduction to a blog which detailed the couple's decision to return to the family home in order to secure their own home in the future.

As this decision is normally seen as a last resort, the public were quick to criticise the organisation's attempt to normalise a situation which has been causing grave concern among young adults in recent years.

Taking to Twitter to air their grievances, the public condemned the campaign, with one person writing: "Despite it being the reality, it's low for a state backed bank to promote young people misfortunes."
