Katy Griffin will not return as co-host of CNN's annual New Year's Eve program after photos were released of the comedian holding a bloody head resembling that of Donald Trump.

In a statement, the network said, "CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program."

The images sparked huge controversy online with many accusing the comic of taking the joke too far.

Donald Trump also weighed in, saying the joke was particularly offensive to his 11-year-old son, Barron.

Kathy then took to Twitter to apologise for her actions admitting, ''I went too far. I was wrong.''

In the video she said: "The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people… I get it."

"I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake, and I was wrong."

The comic was also dismissed by a casino in New Mexico where she was scheduled to perform her stand-up show on July 22.

The packaging is made to look like a book and even features the original illustrations from the 1964 classic.

The exact contents of the package are yet to be revealed, but one teaser post has shown a highly pigmented shimmering gold, representing that all-important golden ticket.

Last week, Ed Sheeran fans were left confused after Russell Crowe referred to Ed's girlfriend Cherry as his financeé during an interview.

Had he secretly proposed?

Since when are Ed and Russell such good friends?

So many unanswered questions.

Well, Ed has finally addressed the speculation, revealing that Russell must have just ''assumed'' that he and Cherry were planning to get married.

During an interview with Sydney's Nova969 he explained, ''You know, he's only met Cherry once and I didn't introduce her.''

''I didn't say anything. I think he just assumed. But no, we're not engaged.''

Ed has previously admitted he and Cherry are "on the path" to marriage but they have no plans to tie the knot just yet.

He also revealed that Russel emailed him to apologise for the slip up, but we can't imagine he was too happy about the situation.

The singer is notoriously private when it comes to sharing details about his personal life with the media.

He'd much rather write a hit song about it instead.

Please say it's true!

The rumour mill is in overdrive today after Taboo, a member of the Black Eyed Peas, listed Oasis in the line-up for Sunday night's Manchester attack benefit concert.

Of course, fans went wild at the thoughts of a reunion with one even exclaiming: ''If oasis are playing at one love Manchester im selling my family to go.''

While another wrote, ''Have -£0 to my name but watch me go to Manchester for Oasis.''

Rumours of a possibly Gallagher brother reunion have been doing the rounds for the last few weeks, with may fans believing their relationship may be on the mend after Liam sent out a tweet wishing Noel a happy birthday.

If the rumours are true, it will be the first time the feuding brothers have performed together since the band's split on 2009 – and what better time to do it?

However, the speculation looks set to continue as Taboo later deleted the tweet and apologised for any confusion.

The three-hour long concert will be held at Manchester's Old Trafford cricket ground almost two weeks after the attack at the Manchester Arena took place.

Coldplay, Take That, Niall Horan, Usher, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Pharell William will all join Ariana on stage in an effort to to raise much needed proceeds and pay tribute to victims and their families.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday June 1 at 10am, with proceeds from the event going towards the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

For those of us not lucky enough to be there, the three-hour long show will air on BBC on Sunday night from 7:15pm, and donations can be mage through the We Love Manchester JustGiving page.

A Belgian university has been forced to apologise after asking it's female students to wear ''low-cut'' tops to their graduation ceremony.

The medical faculty of the Free University of Brussels sent an email to graduates suggesting what they should wear to the event.

“From an aesthetic point of view it’s preferable for the young women to wear a dress or a skirt along with a nice low-cut neckline, and the men a suit.”

They added, “of course, ladies, this advice is not compulsory”. – Gee, thanks.

A screen shot of the email was posted on an unofficial university Facebook page called ULB Confessions, where it was immediately inundated with comments from anger students.

One user wrote, ''is this a joke? They are graduates of medicine and everything that we're asking them is to show their chest?'', while another added,  “Imagine if the ULB suggested that the male graduates wore a low-cut shirt. Preposterous.”

The university later responded saying, ''Hello, the Dean of medicine has noted yesterday of this message moved who enters in contradiction with the values and habits of the ulb. He immediately sent an email of apology, on behalf of the faculty, to all the students who received these instructions.''

Many of us have quite a collection of Apple products at this stage, from the infamous beginnings of the iPod to our coverable iPhone 7s, you'd think we'd be sick of them by now.

But alas, every year we're lured into their shiny exterior and might as well be a magpie in search for diamonds.

We're so interested in fact that we can't help but read all of the rumours leading up to the new releases, and the latest one; the iPhone 8.

Apple expert, Benjamin Geskin, regularly tweets about the expected new features of the products and this week shared a leaked idea of what the next iPhone will look like.

As you can see above, there will be no home button and instead a touch ID scanner will be embedded into its display.

The phone will also reportedly have a stretched OLED screen, meaning it will reach across the whole display.

According to Tech Stuff, it will have the ability to float on water (whut?), as well as have shock absorbers to prevent broken and cracked screens.

Another report from Bloomberg claims that it will have wireless charging capabilities too.

Apple traditionally release its devices around the first two weeks of September, however Trader Insider notes that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone, which debuted on June 29, so bets are on for the iPhone 8 to be released on the same date this year (even though that's very close).

We'll just have to wait and see if all the rumours are true!

Being unhappy in work can be very difficult.

You wake up every weekday morning with dread, and sometimes your issues can spiral into a knotted web if they don't become resolved.

So much so, you think the best thing for you is to quit.

But, hold your horses. Don't do anything rash and have a long sit-down with yourself before you make any major life decisions.

businessman, client, coaching

We totally get that it can feel like you're falling into a deep hole, but rather than trying to escape, ask yourself this question (while you have a bag of chocolate in one hand and a glass of vino in the other):

'What exactly is making me miserable?'

New York Times bestselling author and happiness guru, Gretchen Rubin, says that this question might seem quite obvious, but it can often be overlooked.

"This sounds so obvious," she told Business Insider. "But I've found over and over, it really helps people."

According to the guru, you need to go through every aspect of your job with a fine tooth comb until you hit the exact thing that's making you unhappy.

"You're walking in the door in the morning and you're thinking, 'Oh, you know what? I don't like this anymore. This is a drag. I don't want to be here,” explains Gretchen.

"But there are a lot of reasons that that could be true. And the solutions that you would try in order to fix the situation would be really different depending on what the problem is."

So whether it's your working hours, a tricky co-worker or your salary, try to tackle the problem on a step-by-step basis.

adult, business, chair

“Once you actually pinpoint the precise nature of what's driving you crazy, it's often a lot easier to fix it than you think."

Talk to that disgruntled colleague; see if you can work flexible hours or talk to your boss about bumping up your salary.

You never know what a simple chat can do for you.
