It’s hard to imagine The Little Mermaid’s Ariel as anything other than the sweet, red-haired beauty she is.

However, when Sofia Coppola gets her hands on the Disney character, we might have a Hipster mermaid frolicking under the sea in an ‘ironic’ fashion instead.

The Indie director is set to bring a live-action version of The Little Mermaid to the big screen, and if her previous movies are any indication, we don’t think this will be anything like the 1989 Disney musical.

Considering Coppola’s super-hip approach to her films, which include Lost in Translation and most recently The Bling Ring, we might have a little mermaid who wishes she had legs, just so she can don a pair of skinny jeans.

Don’t stay the night
Whether it’s three in the morning or three in the afternoon, make sure you get out of there. Lazing around whispering sweet nothings into each others ears can only do detrimental damage to any hopes of keeping things strictly s.e.x..so get out of there. Leg it if you have to…

Maintain Respect
It’s a pretty sweet situation to be in if you can, in fact, maintain the no-strings attachment; therefore an element of respect will be required at all times. No one should be taking advantage of anyone as you are both giving each other the best present ever!

No Dates
Yet another ‘routine’ that can see you headed for relationshipville. Don’t even order room service if you  end up in a hotel! This is a strictly ‘benefits only’ deal, so keep touching base with your ‘friend’ to see if you’re both still on the same page, but no dates, no cinema….no, no, no.

Act Out Fantasies
It’s just about sex right?! Well then take it further than the boring missionary. Explore some karma sutra magic or try out something you never thought you would. Nurse uniform? Check! Hi vis and hard hat? Check…another hard hat…check.

Stay focused.
This is only about sex, you need to keep telling yourself that. If it changes and you start feeling emotions then you need to either stop doing it or speak up. Either way if emotions start to creep in someone will get hurt.

After weeks of rumours, it seems TOWIE’s Sam Faiers and ex-fiance Joey Essex are back on.

They were spotted stepping out together and looking incredibly cosy – does this mean the wedding’s back on?

With Sam decked in a gorgeous white jumpsuit, the formerly-engaged couple enjoyed a very romantic dinner at the Dorchester Hotel.

Joey previously said that the two had kept things amicable after their split:

“Me and Sam are cool. We’re back in contact again and we’re talking and stuff as friends.”

Definitely looks like they’re more than friends now!

Most of us shudder at the thought of having to give up our favourite pair of heels.

The perfect pair of skyscrapers can make or break any outfit, but just how much of our health are we sacrificing for foot fashion?

Studies have shown that towering tootsies can take their toll on your spine, hips, knees, ankles and feet, while even altering your posture and gait.

Here’s how high heels affect different parts of your body and why it may be something you won’t stand for anymore.

Feet
The higher the heel, the bigger the impact. Normally, your feet act like weight-distributing shock absorbers, cushioning your skeleton from the intense, daily amount of pounding. However, one study found that four-inch stilettos can raise the amount of pressure on the front of the foot by 30 percent or more. Ouch!

Ankles and calves
Wearing heels forces your ankles to bend forward, a movement that could restrict circulation in your lower limbs. If you’re a regular heel wearer, this could eventually spell spider veins.

Back
In order to strut around in heels, your spine needs to sway unnaturally, a process that stresses your lumbar erector spinae muscle and in time this could result in a weak and painful lower back.

Most of us would have trouble watching our significant other glide around the dance floor with a scantily clad hottie.

So many of us would agree with Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev’s theory that the show can push already rocky relationships over the edge.

Kovalev was dance partner to Countdown presenter Rachael Riley in the last series of Strictly, who split from her husband a mere month after she was voted off the show.

Riley joins a string of celebrity contestants who have seen their relationships fall apart after starring in the show, including Susanna Reid, Natasha Kaplinsky and Denise Van Outen.

The Ballroom star said the intimacy of dancing with a good-looking partner and the long hours spent away from home can make the contestant’s other half insanely jealous.

Kovalev told the Daily Mail, “Dancing is always between a man and a woman. I’ve heard of lots of cases where a wife is jealous of her husband because he is dancing with a beautiful skimpy dressed girl. There is plenty of that.”

Respect Your Body
Whether it’s sobering up, swapping junk food for vegetables or saving yourself for marriage, parents always have something to say about respecting yourself.

Don’t go Mad on R.A.G. Week
This one is inevitable. When that week starts to roll around, suddenly the dynamics of the house begin to change. Mammy breaks out in random cold sweats and Daddy winces every time you add to your alcohol stash.

Are You Going to your Lectures?
There is a reason every college student mutters “grand” when parents ask us to elaborate on how our week in college was. We haven’t been to a thing all week but we’ve managed to make it out four nights in a row and now we feel guilty about it so we’ll lie. What Mammy and Daddy don’t know won’t hurt them.

Cars
Mainly Mammy’s worry, we all know that. But Daddy worries on occasion too. And the biggest worry to parents these days are all of the accidents on the road.

“Don’t be getting into cars with any mad lads. Take the bus if you have to. And make sure no one’s speeding. Didn’t they tell ye in school that it wasn’t embarrassing to tell someone to slow down. I don’t want the guards to be calling here to my door telling me that you’re in the morgue.”

Not Washing Them Clothes
As students, it’s our biggest crime. Bringing dirty clothes home to Mammy and dumping them beside the washing machine.

“Do you think I’m a machine? I don’t want to be standing at the washing machine for the whole weekend. I don’t care that you don’t have a washing machine, go to the laundrette. And look at the state of your football shorts. Covered in muck! I’m telling you now, I’ll wash this lot but if I see one more bag of washing coming in here on a Friday evening, I’ll go MAD.”

Trends come and go which is why it is important to make your home classic and timeless – but that doesn’t mean you have to forego the trends forever!

1. Neutral wall and furnishing colours
Painting and buying core furniture pieces only happens every couple of years. That hot pink sofa might not look so hot then.

2. Pick your trends
If you have to indulge in the trend of the moment, be it animal print or bold colours, choose pieces like throws, rugs, artwork and pillows. These can be cheaper than installing a leopard print carpet that will be out of fashion next week.

3. Wood
Wood will never go out of fashion. Though minimalism may be all the rage, wood in a home will always be warm, comforting and look great.

4. Minimal statement pieces
Less is more when it comes to decorating your home. Have a minimal amount of stand-out pieces to allow for a more classic and timeless look.

5. Comfort
Above all, always choose comfort over trend. If it is comfortable now, it will be in five years.

Kiehl’s have been providing expert tailor-made skincare since they opened over 160 years ago in New York City. Using the best of cosmetic and herbal knowledge, they’ve developed a wide range of amazing products that will leave you and your skin feeling fantastic from tip-to-toe. Our beauty writer Odette called into their flagship Dublin store to find out more:

I arrived into the Kiehl’s Wicklow St store full of excitement. I’ve used and loved a couple of Kiehl’s products in the past, like their Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm and their Ultimate Strength Hand Salve, but I’m definitely still a newbie to the range.

I was greeted by a lovely skin consultant who asked me in depth about my skin, my skincare regime and any problem areas I had before deciding what products would be best suited to me.

She then pulled out products for an entire start-to-finish skincare regime tailored just for my skin and tried them out on me, so I could feel the texture and consistency. I have to say I was so impressed by how right she got every product, I easily could have bought the lot!

Anyone who pops into the Kiehl’s flagship store on Wicklow St. will be offered a complimentary and bespoke skincare consultation, as well as deluxe sample of some of the products to try at home.

Also, when you fall head over heels for any of the products recommended to you and spend over €75, you will given a full size Crème de Corps body moisturiser for free, but only while stocks last, so get down ASAP as it really is too good of an offer to miss! I am now a total Kiehl’s convert and can’t wait to go back.

There must have been something in the water in that jungle, as Kian Egan has revealed he’s on a baby-making mission with wife Jodi Albert.

It seems the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! winner and his wife are feeling very broody and want to add another three more babies to their family.

In an interview in Ok! Magazine, the couple have opened up about their plans to extend their family, giving two-year-old toddler Koa some siblings to play with.

The former Westlife star kept no secret of wanting another baby after he was crowned King of the Jungle last December, telling Hello magazine, “Being away from my family made me look at our lives. I’d love to have a mini Jodi. I’m so lucky to have her and Koa and if we can give him a brother or sister why wait.”

And now the 33-year-old has shared his dream of having a house full of kids.

“I’d go all the way to four if I could. Two boys and two girls would be nice,” he said. “At the end of this year, I’d like to have popped a bun in the oven.”

You better get cracking then Kian.

The boyfriend jean is back and it is as baggy as ever before.

Not that we’re complaining – we secretly miss our wide Hobo jeans from back in the day. But they can be a little tricky to style.

Jessica Alba, Rihanna, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Nicole Richie show us how to rock the boyfriend jean.

Because they are baggy you really need to add a more feminine touch to the outfit to avoid looking slightly slobby.

Add a cute top, a printed sweater or a flowing kimono to pull off the look.

Add some heels or cute flats to finish off the trendy look.
