Alcohol is a common player in parties and nights out; but what do you really know about drinking? Here are five common myths that may make you think twice, before having a drink:

1. You can drive an hour after drinking
Eh, no! It can actually take up to two hours for our bodies to process alcohol. Depending on your weight and how much was in the bottle of beer you just drank.

2. Getting drunker on vodka
This one is true. Hard alcohol gets you drunk and dark liquors like whiskey and rum can make you feel a hell of a lot worse he next day.

3. A nightcap brings on sleep
Actually, while it may bring on sleep, it can leave you feeling like you haven’t had enough shut eye. The alcohol causes your REM sleep to be disturbed meaning your rest is more disturbed rest than it would without the alcohol.

4. Mixing drinks makes you sick
While mixing drinks can leave you a little worse for wear the next day, it’s probably down to the amount consumed, not what was consumed.

5. You’ve a high alcohol tolerance
Everyone processes alcohol differently: for some it means it takes more alcohol to feel drunk rather than be drunk. A supposed ‘high tolerance’ can leave you unaware that you’ve had one drink too many.

They may be due to walk down the aisle this summer, but Perrie Edwards has admitted that she didn’t always like her fiancé Zayn Malik.

Perrie revealed when she first met Zayn on the X Factor in 2011, she found the One Direction star “a bit cocky”.

“I didn’t really like Zayn when I first met him, because I didn’t know him and he seems a bit cocky and a bit full of himself.”

But Perrie admitted the more she got to know Zayn, the more she began to fall for the One Direction singer.

“Then I realised that he’s the most sweetest, most amazing person in the world, so you just need to get to know someone really.”

How sweet! Even though Perrie was very open about how the singers fell in love with each other, she was still tight lipped about her upcoming nuptials. We’ll just have to wait see about the big day.

Getting away for a weekend is often more trouble than it is worth. It can be expensive and two nights away is just never enough, especially when you want to see as much as possible.

Accommodation
Make sure you book a hotel that is right in the heart of the action. If it’s a tourist hotspot, nightclubs and restaurants should be all within walking distance, you will definitely be able to see more.

Don’t check a bag
Unless you are heading away for a weekend of shopping, don’t check a bag in. It can get lost – yes, it has happened, and you’ll just spend your weekend away without any clean clothes.

Don’t over schedule yourself
If you want to see a certain site, put it in your itinerary but don’t put too many things down. You’ll end up seeing a whole load of sites, without really seeing them.

Bring your money
You don’t want to spend your time looking for an ATM machine so try to bring cash with you or even your credit card – don’t forget to pay it back though…

Ryan Gosling doesn’t openly talk about his girlfriend of three years, Eva Mendez.

But the 33-year-old actor made it pretty clear just how serious things are between him and the actress at the movie premerie of his most recent film, White Shadow. 

Ryan was spotted wearing a sliver chain necklace with a pendant stamped with the name of Eva’s dog, Hugo.

Despite all of that speculation that Eva and Ryan have spilt for good, Gosling’s necklace definitely seems to suggest otherwise.

Oh well, we’ll just have to settle for watching Ryan in The Notebook then.

The reality star said in her final tweet: “unless you hear it from us please don’t believe nonsense!”

Just when we thought these two had finally kissed and made up, rumours are now circling that BFFs, Rihanna and Katy Perry have fallen out again and this time, it seems to be over a boy.

Katy apparently lost it, when she discovered that RiRi was planning to record a duet with her ex, John Mayer.

Even though Katy has moved on and rumoured to be dating DJ Diplo now, a source said that she’s still hurt that Rihanna would betray her in this way.

“Katy’s been left shocked and hurt after finding out John and Rihanna met up at an LA recording studio two weeks ago before having dinner. But Katy’s flipped out and told her best mate she’s gone one step too far this time.”

It’s not the first time these two friends have fallen out, as Katy was not impressed with Rihanna, when she decided to get back together with her ex, Chris Brown.

It looks like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West haven’t made Vogue history after all!

Despite reports since the issue’s release that it was set to outsell many other famous editions such as the cover with Michelle Obama or Beyoncé, it seems this has not happened.

Kim can console herself with the news that she DID outsell Rihanna’s Vogue cover.

A source has said: “If you peg last year’s Michelle Obama issue at 260,000, this issue will net around 250,000.”

So has Anna Wintour done more harm than good in allowing Kimye on the cover?

Georgia May is following in her mother’s footsteps as she is unveiled as the new face of Thierry Mugler Angel.

Her mum, Jerry Hall, modelled for the brand between 1995 and 1997.

The 22-year-old took to Twitter to announce her news. She wrote: “So proud to be the new face of @Thierry_Mugler Angel, 20 years after my mother @JerryHall_ ! (sic)”

She is clearly delighted with her new role, saying: “I have such wonderful memories of the fragrance and my mother’s involvement with the Mugler brand. It’s very special to me to be following in my mother’s footsteps.”

The model will appear in brand’s Beware of Angels campaign starting in July, although the TV and print ads were taken last December.

It seems she had lots of fun during shooting, saying: “It was a very creative ad. At one point, I was painted blue and covered in sparkles. I was still scrubbing glitter off at Christmas! But I actually quite enjoy a different make-up look sometimes.”

This cake is so simple and easy for those nights when you need an impromptu treat.

What you’ll need: 

  • 1 egg
  • 3tbsp plain flour
  • 1-2 tsp of hot espresso
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp almond essence
  • Handful of almonds, to sprinkle

What you’ll need to do: 

  1. In a mug, combine all of the dry ingredients.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix all of the wet ingredients.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the mug and combine everything very well.
  4. Place into the microwave for 2 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the almonds on top.
  6. Enjoy with some fresh whipped cream, or, even better, ice-cream!

This has to be the most ridiculous thing we’ve heard today!

It has been reported that Jamie Dornan is set to leave the Fifty Shades of Grey movie franchise, and be replaced by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio.

Say. What?!

Jamie is said to be leaving the franchise following this movie and will be replaced for the second movie, Fifty Shades Darker.

Jamie joked in an interview recently that he hoped to land a job in which he wouldn’t have to, “tie women to beds.”

Other actors pitched to play the role are Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christian Bale.
