TV Choice awards

While Love Island's Amber Gill may not seem to have any luck on the reality show when it comes to finding a proper gentleman (bye, Greg), it seems as though she's already moving on.

The Geordie beautician may have been left shocked by Greg O'Shea's brutal text where he called time on their romance just five weeks after winning the ITV2 show, she seems to be getting back on the horse.

The stunning winner appeared at last night's TV Choice Awards and by the end of the night was spotted looking cosy with I'm A Celebrity star Malique Thompson-Dwyer at the after-party.

The beautician seemed to be getting along well with Malique, cuddling on the sofa while she sported a one-shouldered multi-coloured metallic dress with a thigh-high slash.

An eyewitness told Mirror Online: "Amber and Malique were clearly flirting with each other – there was loads of eye contact between them.

"They looked like a great match and even got out their phones as if they were swapping numbers. At one point they seemed to be close to kissing, before Jamie Lomas interrupted and started talking to his co-star. Amber looked annoyed when another girl came over and took Malique's attention off her."

The former beauty therapist had appeared on Loose Women to discuss the breakdown of her romance with Irish hunk Greg that same day, so it must have been a rough time for her.

"So from my point of view I still wanted to make it work. There was a call a few days prior just chatting, not specifically to do with that.

"I think there was a bit of miscommunication but I think if you don't want to be with someone, you don't want to be with someone," she added.

"Basically all I wanted was a bit of effort from him to come to London or Newcastle to see me. I said I'm going to have to give up if you don't put the effort in. He said 'okay bye'. I was expecting it to be a bit different."

Amber made sure to compliment Greg (he doesn't deserve it..): "He's a lovely guy but I'm not sure what’s going to happen in the future really. It's a bit of an odd situation," the 22-year-old said.

"The Islanders in from the beginning were naive to people going in later on and what people's perceptions were and what were being said. I didn't really think of that at the time."

Maura Higgins has spoken out for the first time about her fellow Islander Amber Gill's split from Greg O'Shea, insisting that the winner is a "strong, independent woman."

The Love Island star believes that the Geordie beautician, who won the show with the Irish rugby player, will thrive despite being dumped ruthlessly via text.

Greg broke up with the Newcastle beauty only five weeks after they split the £50,000 prize and beat out Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, Higgins claims that Amber doesn't need the honest relationship advice she now dishes out on ITV's This Morning.

"You know what, Amber is such a strong girl. I don't think Amber needs much advice, she's very strong. She is a strong, independent woman and she will be absolutely fine."

Gill appeared on Loose Women yesterday to confirm that the relationship ended over text after she had asked Greg to make more of an effort with the romance by flying to London or Newcastle.

She appeared at the TV Choice Awards alone, without O'Shea in attendance. Maura also spoke about joining the ITV team, saying she felt "part of the furniture".

The emphasised that the villa friendships still exist; "We try to see each other as much as possible but it's difficult. Once you've been through that experience you want to be there to support one another."

Maura has had huge success since leaving the villa; "With the opportunities, it's insane. I feel very, very lucky, honestly."

When red carpet style is done right, it can set the whole tone for the evening.

Classy, relaxed and glamorous are all words we think of when it comes to red carpet style, however, the only words that are springing to our minds after last night's TV Choice Awards are ill-fitting, and dodgy.

Don't get us wrong, we think that everyone can wear what they want to, but if it was a stylist's job to make the stars look their absolute best, something went very wrong here:

Fearne Cotton

Ferne is totally breaking our hearts here. She's a celeb we look up to for rock'n'roll glamour, but this dress just looked a bit… off.

Between the baby pink top dress that just hangs, to the tight cerise dress underneath… It's a no from us.

Georgia Kousoulou

We're getting serious Cinderella-gone-wrong vibes from Georgia here. The royal blue dress is in a mass of wrinkles and cuts her in all the wrong places.

She has a gorgeous body, and we think this dress is totally hiding it. And big wedges? Really?!

Faye Brookes

The Coronation Street star left little to the imagination here. Now, don't get us wrong, it isn't the worst outfit, but between a thigh-high split, a plunging neckline and a bare midriff, it's too exposed for us.

We're feeling chilly just looking at her!

But, along with every bad outfit, there's a good outfit, and here's some we loved last night.

Stephanie Pratt

Stephanie kept it simple and classy with an embellished soft yellow dress. With just the right amount of sparkle, and not too much on show, we're loving her look.

And brownie points for her make-up, too. We adore the dewy look!

Katie Price

We know, we know. With her past dodgy outfits, Katie usually ends up on the other list, but we have to say, she happily surprised us last night.

Covering up what she usually shows off, Katie wore a backless white evening dress, and put her hair up in a gorgeous messy bun. Kudos, we like this look.

Ferne McCann

We love some sparkles here in SHEmazing! HQ, and Ferne's dress was FULL of them.

The former I'm A Celeb contestant wore strappy heels with her thigh-high split dress and kept her make-up and hair simple. We think she looks great!

‘Round these parts, we’re BIG fans of Michelle Keegan.

That definitely includes her seriously stylish wardrobe too.

From her always on-fleek approach to the red-carpet, to her beach-side attire – not to mention THAT incredible custom-made wedding dress – Ms Keegan is one fashionable addition to current showbiz circuit.

However, proving that just about everyone can have an off-day, the 28-year-old looked somewhat older than her years at the TV Choice awards, which took place last night in London’s Hilton Hotel on Park Lane.

Attending with her husband, Mark Wright, also 28, the actress donned a bright fuchsia dress by the diffusion line Michael, Michael Kors.

Michelle accessorised with dance-style metallic and purple sandals and also carried a pale box clutch.

And while we can see the midi-hem, high-neck with ¾-length sleeve number working well for a day-time event, it seemed out-of-place among the glamorous red-carpet gowns worn by her fellow guests.

Still, Mark managed to up the ante with a smart grey jacket with subtle pin-stripe, sleek black pants and a low-set matching waistcoat.

The former reality TV star finished off his outfit with a black pocket-square and skinny black tie complete with tie-pin.

Other attendees to sport formal wear included BGT presenter Amanda Holden, who looked incredible in full-length, figure-hugging black, and Towie stars James Argent and Lydia Bright – both of whom were certainly dressed-to-impress.
