Ant McPartlin and his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong have had a tough year thus far.

Announcing their separation in January, the couple did not finalise their divorce until October 26.

And they are still working out the terms of their marriage split in court.

According to The Mirror, the I’m a Celebrity presenter is facing a £31 million divorce bill in a settlement with Lisa.

But money doesn’t seem to be the former couple’s main concern.

They must decide who will get custody of their beloved pet dog Hurley.

Both Ant and Lisa have a strong connection with the dog and would have a hard time losing custody of the pup.

They have each leaned on their furry friend through hard times in their lives.

The Strictly makeup artist says she has a “deep connection” with Hurley while Ant says the pooch helped him throughout his struggle with addiction.

And since the presenter did not turn up to a preliminary hearing about the divorce, the custody situation is becoming more complicated.

The two were married for 11 years before their split earlier this year.

Commenting on the ended relationship, Ant said: “I've put Lisa through hell with mood swings and depression and how it affects you. I'm very sorry about the effect it has on partners."

"This kind of stuff puts strains on any marriage. All I can say at the moment is that she's been amazing – fantastic throughout."

Hopefully, they will be able to sort out who gets custody of the pup soon, as both seem to share a bond with Harley.

TV presenter Ant McPartlin and estranged wife Lisa are to divorce today – Tuesday, October 26th – according to reports this morning.

According to The Sun, a court hearing is scheduled at London's Central Family Court, where their divorce is to be finalised

After 11 years of marriage, the couple announced their split in January amid much public speculation. Ant publicly addressed the ending of their relationship in a statement, asking for privacy at what was a very difficult time for them both.

"In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after eleven years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families," a statement read.

Lisa, a makeup artist on Strictly Come Dancing, was praised by her former partner for her support as he entered rehab to attempt to combat his addiction issues, but sources said that this had put an undoubted strain on their relationship, with the TV presenter admitting this himself.

"I've put Lisa through hell with mood swings and depression and how it affects you. I'm very sorry about the effect it has on partners." He added: "This kind of stuff puts strains on any marriage. All I can say at the moment is that she's been amazing – fantastic throughout."

Another public charge of drink-driving – which saw Ant step away from his presenting duties to focus on recovery – also occurred earlier this year.

The couple met at a roadshow in Newcastle in the mid-1990s while Lisa was an aspiring pop star in Deuce.

McPartlin has often spoken of their struggle to have children, addressing this issue on an episode of Britain's Got Talent

Following the news that Ant McPartlin was involved in a collision with two other cars in Richmond, West London while driving his Mini last month, the presenter has pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Today, he has been ordered to pay what is believed to be the biggest ever drink-drive fine in Britain after he was caught more than double the legal limit in a car crash.

The 42-year-old was fined £86,000 after pleading guilty to drink driving and banned from the road for 20 months.

He said he is "truly sorry for what happened " outside the Wimbledon Magistrates Court.

The court heard that Ant had 75mg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – twice the legal limit, according to The Telegraph.

"I just want to say that I'm truly sorry," he said outside court. "Higher standards are expected of me. I expect them of myself. I let myself down. I let a lot of people down and for that, I am truly sorry."

He added: "I would like to apologise to everybody involved in the crash and I am just thankful that nobody was seriously hurt in this."

Of the accident, the Metropolitan Police said one of the passengers of the cars was a child, The Guardian reported. They explained that the little one was taken to hospital in order to be checked as a precaution.

Ant was arrested after failing a roadside breathalyser test. A spokesperson for the Met noted that he was 'taken to a south London police station for questioning and has since been released under investigation'.

He is taking time off from TV and seeking treatment "for the foreseeable future" following the accident and charge, according to his publicist.

Ant McPartlin has revealed that he and his wife Lisa Armstrong will divorce after 11 years of marriage.

In a statement issued by his representative, he shared, “In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after eleven years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.”

Both Ant and Lisa have asked for respect and privacy during this harrowing time.

He added, “No further statement will be made."

According to The Sun, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here host decided to end their relationship.

The couple met at the Smash Hits tour in 1994 when they were in their late-teens. After 11 years of dating the British TV presenter asked for Lisa’s hand in marriage.

Ant and Lisa got married at St Nicholas' Church in Taplow, Buckinghamshire in 2006.

The pair have faced many hurdles throughout the years, including Ant’s addiction to super-strength painkillers, which put a strain on their relationship.

The Britain’s Got Talent host checked himself into rehab for drink and drug addictions in 2017, following a failed knee operation which left him in a great deal of pain.

Speaking about his time in rehab, Ant admitted, “I've put Lisa through hell with mood swings and depression and how it affects you.”

“I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that, I am truly sorry,” he told The Sun.

"I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time."

Just two months after checking himself into rehab for drug and alcohol dependence, Ant McPartlin is speaking for the first time about his silent addiction.

The beloved television presenter has revealed how he almost died following a two-year battle with prescription pain relief medication, admitting he would pop pills “willy nilly,” in an effort to keep his pain at a minimum.

His struggle began in 2014 when his pain failed to go away after a knee operation, meaning doctors were forced to prescribe Ant stronger and more addictive pain killers.

The I'm a Celebrity presenter then checked himself into a rehab facility earlier this year after revealing the extent of this problem with his wife, Lisa, and TV co-host, Declan Donnelly.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Ant, for the first time, revealed the true extent of his horrifying battle, admitting his addiction led him into a depression.

“I was at the point where anything — prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs — I would take.

"And take them with alcohol, which is ridiculous. The doctors told me, ‘You could have killed yourself’,” he said.

The 41-year-old told how he pleaded with his wife, Lisa, to bring him to hospital after overdosing on tramadol, morphine and alcohol while recovering from a second knee operation in June.

“It was five in the morning and I was screaming in pain so I rang Lisa.”

“She was upstairs because I was living in the living room because I couldn’t get around.”

He continued: “I was insane. It sends you crazy. It was to the point of hearing things, seeing things in the garden and still the pain was getting worse.”

“The ambulance came and took me to Chelsea and Westminster.”

“I was depressed through the whole thing because I was in pain and immobile.”

Ant has now successfully completed his treatment and is clean from all drugs other than paracetemol for the first time in three years and is set to return to work alongside Dec on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in November.

The entertainment industry in Britain was left stunned earlier this summer when one of half of TV's most wholesome duo announced he would be seeking professional help for addiction issues.

Ant McPartlin, whose career has spanned more than two decades, revealed that he would be entering rehab after accepting he had an issue with alcohol and drugs.

"The first step is to admit to yourself you need help," he said in June, as news broke that he would be taking time out of the spotlight.

"I have spoken out because I think it is important that people ask for help if they are going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery," he added.

Having worked closely with Ant and Dec over the last 15 years on both Pop Idol and Britain's Got Talent, it's no surprise that Simon Cowell was asked his opinion on the presenter's recent decision to enter rehab.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I don’t know details behind the scenes, but when someone has the courage to own it, deal with it, made a public statement, we would a million per cent support him. I think he’ll be fine."

"I’ve worked with him for 16 years. All I can tell you about Ant is he’s one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet," he continued. "He hasn’t changed in all the years I’ve known him."

Acknowledging the toll the industry can take on people, Simon added: "I have worked in entertainment for a long long time and I’ve seen what happens with pressure. I’m not making excuses here."

Looking to the future, Simon seemed confident that Ant would make a full recovery and make a return to television.

"He’s got great people around him and also he’s got a great family around him. Dec’s his best friend," he continued. "We made it clear we would always stand by them."

TV insiders believe Ant should be back on our screens by November.

We've had a soft spot for Ant and Dec ever since their SMTV days, so we can't help feeling all warm and fuzzy inside when one of them has good news to share!

Declan Donnelly, one half of the famous presenting duo, popped the question to girlfriend Ali Astall over the weekend…. and she said yes!

The couple are Australia as Ant and Dec prepare for the new series of I'm A Celebrity… so no doubt there were lots of excited phone calls made to family back home!

Ali has joined her man for his month-long stay Down Under.

39-year-old Dec has been seeing his fiancée for a year and a half, and is apparently "head over heels in love," according to a friend. "Dec soon realised that the he’d met the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and felt ready to settle down," the insider revealed.

The pair are old friends – Ali has been the presenting duo's talent manager for over a decade. Wow!

Speaking about the relationship earlier this year, Dec admitted there had always been a great connection between them both.  "I think we’ve always been attracted to each other but it has always been that thing of we work together," he said.

"This is the first time we’ve given it a try."

Ali has already moved into the presenter's London home, and the couple even have a dog together.

Despite having only been engaged for a few days, the lovebirds have already started thinking about a wedding date. "They’re keen to start a family and want to get hitched next year," said the source.

Best buddy Ant, who married his partner Lisa Armstrong back in 2006, is set to be the best man. We wonder if they'll whip out one of their old PJ and Duncan routines at the wedding reception!
