We deeply apologise to all selfie stick lovers for bringing you this terrible news: selfie sticks have officially been banned at Disney World and Disneyland.

Disney officials have announced that starting on Tuesday, all Disney theme parks in Orlando, Paris and Hong Kong will have a ban on the popular photo taking tool.

A spokeswoman for the group explained to the Orlando Sentinel that selfie sticks have become a “growing safety concern for both our guests and cast.”

Disneyland is joining a growing list of popular venues that have banned the selfie-taking apparatus. The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Colosseum in Rome, Wimbledon tennis championships, Coachella music festival, and a host of other venues have all banned the stick.

While the world’s selfie epidemic has undoubtedly gotten out of control, we can’t argue that there have been some pretty great photos captured as a result.

So, in memory of the selfie stick, let’s take a look at our favourite five celebrity-selfie-stick-moments.

1. Is there any possible selfie more 'fashion' than Zoolander, Hansel and Anna Wintour? Definitley, definitely not.

2. Even the President of The United States is doing it…

3. Wouldn't it be a downright shame if this beautiful trio couldn't capture themselves at the optimum angle?

4. A bearded Leo DiCaprio has even been seen aimlessly wandering around with his selfie stick.

5. And last but by no means least, the woman who wrote the book on it… literally. While we realise that Kim K isn't holding a selfie stick here, her deep-rooted love for taking pictures of herself did result in an elephant giving her a fright so we simply couldn't leave it out.

Kanye West may be choosing the wrong woman to mess with when it comes to selfies.

A source has told Radar Online that Kanye is sick of all the cameras and electronics surrounding his daughter.

The source said: “It’s the biggest parenting argument they have and now it’s turned into war."

“Kanye wants to keep North away from all screens – cellphones, tablets and big TVs – because he’s convinced the electronics are bad for her," they added.

He is worried about North's physical and mental health because he doesn't think surrounding her with cameras and mobile phones all the time is good for her.

The source claimed: “He even insists everyone leave their phones at the door when entering the nursery!”

However, Kim is quick to defend herself and doesn't mind her daughter being around these things: “Kim thinks [the threat of radiation is] total rubbish and has spent hours digging up links that prove it’s not true.”

Along with the effects of radiation and being on camera at such a young age, the source explained: “Kanye does NOT like it when Kim encourages North with selfies, he hit the roof when she boasted about it online. It totally undermines him."

We hate to break it to you Kanye, but we can't see Kim giving up on this one without a fight…

When everyone from Barack Obama to the Pope has gotten on board with a trend, it's clear something needs to stop.

Luckily, Prince Harry is stepping up to the plate as the first celebrity anti-selfie campaigner (though One Direction's Liam gave the role a good bash too).

The Prince was making an appearance in Canberra, Australia this week after touching down for a four-week placement with the Australian Defence Force. But he's there to work, people, not to take selfies, and he was quick to give out to one young fan who asked for one.

"Just take a normal photograph"… Solid advice right there.

Instagram is such a huge part of our lives today, what did we do before it? Do you ever just sit down and ask yourself “Am I an Insta-addict?” If so, then you probably are! However, if you’re unsure then we have given you seven ways to help you decide if you need a bit of a filter detox.

1. Valencia has become your newest skin tone
Wow, that brightness, contrast and saturation on your face looks so natural…

2. You spend more time positioning your food to make it look nice rather than eating it
“Ah lads half the plate got cut off, I’m going to have to instasize it!”

3. You have become the Queen of creeping
Whether it's Kim K or your best friend's brother's girlfriend's ex, you know exactly how she wore her hair on the 4th of April 2014.

4. “Mum you can't zoom in on Instagram!"
No explanation needed…

5. Throwback Thursday and Selfie Sunday should be national holidays
“I just can’t leave the house until I get at least three likes on my OOTD”

6. You feel bad about yourself at least once everyday
Instagram is squat central, yeah, we think we’ll just stick to highlighting our other good features…

7. Your dad tells you the word “hashtag” has become a part of your everyday vocabulary
Yeah, we’ve all been there…#awks

The first step is admitting that you have a problem. It’s okay, we’re all in this together.

Kim Kardashian was ridiculed last week when she shared a photo of herself claiming that she had just woken up.

Still in full make-up with a set of false eyelashes still intact and not smeared across her face as happens to us, it was clear she had not just woken up. But she still looked damn good.

In fact, it’s undisputed that, love her or hate her, Kim is pretty much the queen of the selfie – but does she have a helping hand?

Well, apparently the reality TV star uses an app called Perfect 365 which even adds on false eyelashes (yes, we tried it!) and is free on iTunes.

According to US Weekly’s source, all the Jenner and Kardashian gals are using the app to perfect their photos: “Kim and all the Kardashians use the app Perfect 365 to touch up their photos before they post them on social media. The Kardashians have gotten all of their friends into it.”

Not only does the app add false eyelashes it also adds a slick of lipgloss, sculpts brows and adds eyeliner.

It looks as if maybe Kim HAD just woken up after all and the app just put on her make-up digitally for her – consider us sold!

Put the selfie stick down…forever. A study conducted by academics at Ohio State University has shown that men who take selfies have higher than average traits psychopathic tendencies…eek! Quick, someone tell James Franco! Although we have a feeling he may already know…

The research was conducted on 800 men between the ages of 18-40 showed that those who loved to post and edit their selfies online had high narcissistic traits than those who do not do so.

Professor Jesse Fox spoke about the findings, saying: “We know that self-objectification leads to a lot of terrible things, like depression and eating disorders in women. With the growing use of social networks, everyone is more concerned with their appearance. That means self-objectification may become a bigger problem for men, as well as for women.”

No need to worry about your boy’s camera habits just yet however, as although a number of the men in the study did receive a higher than average score on narcissistic and psychopathic characteristics, these scores were still within the normal ranges of human behaviour. Phew!

If you're a fan of some light celebrity stalking from time to time (i.e. every spare moment), then Instagram is no doubt your mecca. How else would you know what your favourite celebs are doing and eating every moment of the day?

But when it comes to Instagram poses, a simple smile is never enough – and there are some standard go-to poses you'll definitely spot over and over in your feed.

Here are eight of the biggest clichéd poses and photos…

1. The “I have an adorable pet, therefore I am adorable” selfie
Miley Cyrus alone does not equal cute. Miley Cyrus plus a husky puppy DEFINITELY equals cute.

2. The “don’t mind me, I’m just sleeping” selfie
Then how in God’s name are you operating the camera, Katy Perry?!

3. The “HOW SEXY AM I?” duck face
Well at least Kim didn’t crop little North West out of this snap…

4.  The “just being casual… and yet so sexy” sparrow face
The evolved version of the duck face, the sparrow face involves sliiightly parting your lips while pouting. For tips, just follow Kylie Jenner on Instagram. She’s all about the sparrow face.

5. The “oh, you caught me off guard” hand-in-hair pose
If you want a super-posed photo to look like it is in fact not posed at all, just throw your hand in your hair á la Jourdan Dunn.

6. The “slightly off balance” crossed leg and head tilt
Favoured by fashion bloggers and reality stars.

7. The “yes, I do work out, how did you know?” selfie
Either taken at the gym or at home in workout clothes. Sweat is okay, a red face is NOT. Ellie Goulding is positively glowing in this snap:

8. The “I love my life” candid laugh
Laughing at something off camera is Instagram code for “my life is amazing, it’s far better than yours, soz.”

Eek, this Vine of One Direction’s Liam Payne is just a little (ok, VERY) awkward…

The clip shows the singer taking selfies with his fans, but his smile swiftly fades when each selfie is done as he rapidly moves from fan to fan.

Those poor lads are busy as anything, but surely this isn’t the most genuine way to do things?

We’re not so sure a selfie with our hero would mean much if we arrived home and saw that video…

Ever feel like your Instagram feed is just the same stuff over and over again? Yup, us too. It’s probably because 99.9% of pics uploaded can be broken down into these nine categories. We bet you’re guilty of a few of these!

1. The food porn shot
Who can resist snapping a sneaky picture of their #vegan quinoa salad? Or that gorgeous fudge brownie that’s just been sat in front of you? If all your followers don’t get food envy, the meal may as well not have happened.

Selfies are funny things. You might upload them to Facebook for all your friends to see, but it’s pretty embarrassing when you’re caught in the act of taking one!

This dad filmed his daughter taking a bunch of selfies in the back seat of the car, and she had NO idea, because selfies are addictive ok? You become oblivious to the world around you when all you can see is your beautiful face. Or at least this girl did!

This is cringe-tastic viewing, at it's finest.

In this day and age, you just HAVE to know how to take a decent selfie. Even if you’re not fond of them yourself, what if someone stops you out of the blue and includes you in THEIR selfie? Are you just going to stare at the camera like a deer caught in headlights? Of course not. You’re going to strike a pose. And here is how you do just that:

Know your good side
Everyone has a good side – well, most of us. Beyoncé probably looks good from both sides, but she’s clearly not human, so… just go home Beyoncé. The rest of us have to jump to the right side of whoever we’re taking a selfie with so that our good side is in the shot. And then…

Look up
Never look down into the camera for a selfie – unless you want to get all your chins in the shot. Nobody looks good from this angle – not even Beyoncé we bet. You could stare straight ahead but this is what you do when you’re taking your passport photo and we know how they turn out. So look up into the camera so that your eyes look big and beautiful.

Choose an expression
What kind of face you want to pull is up to you. However, may we suggest refraining from the pout. It’s kind of over and people only really use it when they’re taking the mick out of selfies. A smile is always good – or a sultry stare if you can pull it off. Sticking your tongue out is ok, but it’s best used when you’re with your friends, to show how much fun you’re having. When you’re on your own, it’s just a bit weird.

Snap it
Press the button, and try to keep your eyes open for the flash.

Check it
Check to make sure you’re happy with it before posting it anywhere, and then…

Take 100 more
Taking a good selfie is a hit and miss kind of a thing, so you’re probably going to take a LOT of photos before you get one you’re happy with. That’s half the fun though, right? Just make sure your photos aren’t automatically uploaded to your online account before you start snapping!

We love a good selfie as much as the rest of them, but the craze has gotten a bit out hand lately (we think Kim K's book of selfies was the tipping point). So, in a bid to crack down on the culture of vanity, Central Park was turned into a ‘No Selfie Zone’ – at least for a while!

Comedian and writer Jena Kingsley put up ‘No Selfie Zone’ signs around the park and dressed up in a uniform, claiming to be the 'selfie police'. She then patrolled the area, and told people that the only way of getting out of the $50 fine was to delete the picture in front of her – and of course, the whole thing was caught on a hidden camera, for your viewing pleasure.

We know this was just a prank, but we’re starting to think it wouldn’t actually be a bad idea!
