Janice Dickinson is a fashion industry veteran, having began her career back in the 70s and racking up 37 Vogue covers during her career.

The supermodel was one of the most famous faces in fashion during the 80s, the golden age of supermodels.

Known for her fiery personality, Janice has a rather controversial opinion about today's models, particularly Kendall Jenner.

"We had to work on our own merit. They’re not models! They’re reality TV stars!'' said the industry veteran.

"I don’t think she’s a supermodel, I don’t. … Give me a break,"

"You think that’s supermodel? That is not a supermodel. She can’t beat me. She can’t. Apples and oranges" Janice told AfterBuzzTV's The Tomorrow Show.

It wasn't just Kendall who was in the firing line, as Janice didn't hold back when it came to discussing big sister Kim.

"Kim Kardashian made the cover of Vogue which made me want to vomit. It was crazy," she said.

"You know modelling is extremely hard work. You have to have perfect proportions. The Kardashians do not have couture proportion," she finished.

Yikes! It looks like Janice seriously dissaproves of reality TV stars-turned-models.

However, with Kendall appearing on the list of the world's highest paid models, and raking in about €4,000,000 per year in modelling contracts, we doubt she will pay much heed.

If there was ever a time to don your most satirically sound ensemble, the British Fashion Awards would be it.

As with any red carpet event, the style stakes were high, and the celebrities came out in force to prove their fashion credentials.

There were plenty of head turning looks that got everyone talking, from feathered pyjama sets to skin tight silk.

1. Alexa Chung

Hailed as the reigning queen of British style and the ultimate fashion it-girl, Alexa's look didn't disappoint on the red carpet.

This pale yellow, feathered pyjama set hit all of this years trend marks, and the designer's slicked back hair and signature red lip complemented the busy ensemble.

2. Gigi Hadid

Model-of-the-moment Gigi showed off her killer figure in a skin tight Versace Couture silk jumpsuit.

The star won the International model of the year award, which isn't surprising after modelling for major brands like Victoria's Secret, Tommy Hilfiger and Vogue this year.

3. Karlie Kloss

This Victoria's Secret veteran cut a striking figure in this slim line, cut-out column dress.

While Karlie was absent from this year's show due to other commitments, the model channelled the VS vibe with glamorous waves and a cat eye flick.

4. Mollie King

The ex-Saturdays star opted for a boho-chic look in a floral gown, but kept things autumnal with a berry toned palette.

She also opted for a very Sienna Miller-esque beauty look, with loose waves and natural make up.

5. Pixie Lott

Songstress Pixie went bold in the novelty accessory of the season, the tiara.

Keeping with the regal vibe, Pixie added her tiara to a Dolce & Gabbana fishtail style gown which wouldn't look out of place at a royal ball.

6. Jenna Coleman

Actress and ex-flame of Prince Harry Jenna Coleman stunned in this Erdem Spring 2017 ruffed dress.

Her dramatic liner and loose up-do contrasted perfectly with the prim and proper gown.

7. Lily Donaldson

The Victoria's Secret models were out in force at the British Fashion Awards,  and Lily Donaldson made a statement in a sheer, dusty pink dress.

The full length gown featured intricate embroidered and showed off her model figure to perfection.

8. Olivia Palermo

The ultimate fashion insider Olivia Palermo rocked an oriental inspired dress, accentuating the statement look with maximalist earrings and an iridescent clutch.

We're not totally sold on those shoes though.

She's walked in all the major fashion shows and been in many famous magazines, but it looks like Suki Waterhouse has another career in mind.

The model made her singing debut last night as she shared her first single with her fans on Twitter.

Suki wrote: "I put out my 1st song today. It's called 'Brutally' & means so much to be featured in @lenadunham's #womenofthehour."

And fans really seemed to like her new path as they replied to her tweet with high praises.

One fan wrote in response: "Yay queen! So proud of you!" While another tweeted, "Suki your voice is soooo good!!!"

Well, we didn't see that coming!

She’s already earned her Victoria Secret wings, walked for the likes of Chanel and Versace and now Stella Maxwell has been named the newest face of Max Factor.

The 25-year-old model – whose parents are from Belfast – will join Candice Swanepoel as a global ambassador for the cosmetic giant.

Speaking of the deal which will see her make her Max Factor debut as part of the brand’s 2017 campaign, Stella said: “Max Factor is such an iconic makeup brand and I love experimenting with makeup, so becoming the newest ambassador is a dream come true.”

“I remember stealing Max Factor products from my sister when I first discovered makeup and now, more than ever, I rely on the products for whatever my hectic schedule demands,” she continued.

Earlier this year the stunning blonde was named 2016’s hottest woman by Maxim magazine.

She’s one of Ireland’s best known faces, but that doesn’t mean Roz Purcell’s modelling career has been totally free from worry.

In a new interview with the Diary, the Tipperary native has revealed how in the past she felt pressurised to lose weight for work, but claims that these days she’s more interested in feeling well than being slim.

Speaking of her time in the States, the 26-year-old said: “When you’re in a job that’s based on aesthetics people feel they can comment on your aesthetics.  When I was modelling abroad, people would just say things to you…They would say you need to lose weight, straight up.”

Since changing her career focus, Roz admits she has become less stressed about her weight.

“I had such baby fat and my eyebrows were different.”

“You learn through your makeup like using lip liner. Before, lip liner wasn't really a thing. There's a lot of different elements through the years that I have changed.”

“I don't really know how much I weigh.  I'm more about how I feel now and I'm not obsessed with weighing myself at all.  I used to be, but I've taken a step back from it.”

The Natural Born Feeder creator – who is currently dating music promotor Zach Desmond – also confessed that dealing with her sister’s leukaemia diagnosis has given her a new outlook on life.

“I used to be a really anxious person but since Rachel, I have completely changed.”

“I don’t worry about anything.  Stress is a contributor to so many different things, I completely avoid it.  I would always look for what could go wrong.  Nothing keeps me awake at night now.”

In a society of extremes, women at every end of the curve spectrum are constantly being scrutinised for their size.

But while many of us opt to suffer such criticism in silence, one Miss Italy contestant has decided to defend her curvaceous frame from the abuse hurled at it by antagonistic trolls.

After receiving a collection of bodyshaming comments both online and in person, 22-year-old Paola Torrente hit back at her haters by publically declaring that she will not be turned against her curves by the negativity of others.

Speaking to the Mail Online, the size 14 brunette – who was told she has “too much flesh” to compete in a beauty pageant by Croatian model Nina Moric – explained how she believes the best way to deflect people’s negativity is by focusing on the happiness which exists in her own life.

She said: “I want to tell young women to accept themselves and to understand that feeling good and being happy is the most powerful thing to fight people’s words and thoughts.”

Since taking second place in this year’s pageant, the engineering student has received great praise from young girls who see her body confidence as an inspiration, a situation which Paola says makes her feel “surprised and proud”.

“They made me feel good too. And maybe in that sense I am a role model, but firstly I'm just a very normal 22-year-old girl.”

During the interview, Paola – who is from Angri, an area south of Naples – also pointed out the conflicted nature of a beauty industry which is still widely seen as pushing traditional depictions of perfection on an audience which is becoming increasingly more open to body diversity.

She said: “I embrace my curves at 360 degrees, and I'm never ashamed of them. There are many women that chose surgery to become more curvy.”

However the 5ft 9 model – who works out regularly to maintain her figure – also acknowledged that the pageant scene is changing for the better.

“The stereotype of the tall, skinny girl started in the 1990s and girls became skinnier every year,” noted Paola.

“Now a lot of girls that don't fit the beauty ideal of tall and skinny compete. That's a really good thing, it means mentality is changing.”

She’s covered Vogue, been the face of Estée Lauder and has walked the Victoria Secret runway, so by all accounts it has been one busy year for model Kendall Jenner.

As well boosting her CV no end, it has now been revealed that in the last year the 20-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has upped her income by 150 percent, bringing her annual total to a massive $10 million.

Kendall ranked third in Forbes’ yearly list of highest earning models, while lucrative deals with the likes of Chanel and Pantene put Gisele Bündchen in the top spot for the fourteenth year in a row.

Despite having announced her catwalk retirement, the 36-year-old Brazilian supermodel has made $30.5 million since this time last year.

Second place went to Adriana Lima who made only a third of Gisele’s salary with $10.5 million.

Forbes has noted how stars like Kendall and her BFF Gigi Hadid – who tied in fifth place with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for their $9 million incomes – have used their impressive social media followings to land major deals with big brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.

Almost one third of the women on this year’s list have never appeared on it before.  Lily Aldridge, Jasmine Tookes and Taylor Hill have all made their Forbes debuts thanks to their work with Victoria Secrets.

So, where is it we get our wings?

They're pretty much one of our fave couples: Andrea Roche model Holly Keating and Michael McCarthy, a former Dublin footballer who lifted the Sam Maguire back in 2011.

And now – we are happy to report – the loved-up duo are ENGAGED!

Yup, Michael popped the question over the weekend at Co. Wickow's Kilruddery House, with 27-year-old Bray-native Holly immediately saying 'yes!'

We can't say we blame her either: the ring is definitely mega-bling: a gorgeous solitaire stone cut in a circular fashion and flanked by smaller rocks. *Swoon*

Ms Keating also shared a snap of the happy couple on social media – with friends and family quickly rushing to offer their congratulations.

The pair met on a night out but their relationship really blossomed on Facebook. Although Holly has admitted that at first she wasn't exactly au fait with his chosen sport.

"I didn't even know what shape the ball for Gaelic football was!" she previously told independent.ie.

She added: "I love GAA now. Michael trains four times a week and has a match at the weekend. I'm just in awe of his commitment to it."

She’s part of one of the world’s most famous families and has been on TV since she was a child, but that hasn’t made Kendall Jenner any less ambitious when it comes to forging her own career.

In the two years since she began modelling full-time, Kendall has walked for Chanel, Alexandra Wang and Victoria Secrets, as well as appearing on the covers of Harper’s Bazaar, GQ and Marie Claire but until now she has not covered the pinnacle of all fashion magazines: Vogue.

Today Vogue and Kendall simultaneously announced that the reality star will take the coveted position of their September cover girl.

Taking to Instagram to share the cover shot with her 63 million followers, Kendall excitedly wrote: “In a room with a bunch of people I love, looking at this cover made me cry.  I F*CKING DID IT.  SEPTEMBER VOGUE.”

“This is the coolest thing ever!  Can’t thank you enough Anna, for giving me the honour.”

An interview between numerous members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan and the famous magazine reveals that Kendall has been dedicated to modelling since she was just 13 years old.

Her older sister Kim said: “She had her eyes focused on exactly what she wanted to do… and she made it happen.”

But Kendall stressed that she did not want to be famous for the sake of it like her sisters often appear to be.

She said: “Obviously, my success came after my sisters' – I got to see all of their mistakes and watch out for them.”

The star also opened up about what it was like for her to watch the man who taught her “everything tomboy” – her father Bruce – transition into Caitlyn.

She said: “It's super ironic to think about now, but it's something I can thank my dad for: how much of a tomboy I was.”

“That's why I think the whole thing – her transition – was really hard for me, because I was like, ''But you taught me everything tomboy!'”

But while her father’s transition was difficult for her to process at the time, she now says seeing Bruce as Caitlyn is “super normal”.

She explained: “It's not weird at all.  Sometimes I look at a picture of my dad when she was a guy, and it makes me a little sad – I get emotional.  You have to get past it, you've got a new person to love.”

With such valuable experiences behind her, we're excited to see what Kendall does next.

As the US presidential election is heating up, more and more people want to know about the private lives of the presidential candidates.

And when Hilary Clinton hugged her nephew after her nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention last week, everyone wanted to know who that man was.

Well, his name is Tyler Hilton and he's an aspiring model who just graduated from California's Loyola Marymount University this past May.

Since catching everyone's attention with that hug, pictures of Tyler have surfaced online from a shoot he did with photographer, Adina Doria.

Adina told ET Online: "He was incredibly professional, very well-mannered and a truly genuine person. He was friendly to everyone on set and arrived early to location."

However, if you're hoping he's a single pringle, you're going to be disappointed as the photographer also let slip that Tyler has a girlfriend: "I learned he and his girlfriend are very active in the LGBT rights movement," she added.

Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

Model Robyn Lawley is the face of Pantene, has designed her own swimwear collection and has been on the covers of Vogue, Elle and Sports Illustrated and yet she admits she has been dropped from major beauty campaigns because of her size 16 frame.

In a recently published interview with The Cut, the Australian beauty described how she would be hired for jobs based on her photos but as soon as agents realised she was not a sample size model, she would be let go.

She said: “My agency, when I signed with them, sent me out to all the beauty clients.  My Italian agency did the same thing.”

“I got booked from everyone.  Then, as soon as they found out my size, they all dropped off.”

Robyn – who runs the food blog Robyn Lawley Eats – has been outspoken over her dislike of the term "plus-size" and in the interview highlighted how strange it is that one term is used to describe every woman who wears clothing larger than a size 8.

She said: “Plus-size is a really broad term.  If you're going to label sizes 8 to 18 plus-size, you're labelling the majority of women plus-size.”

When asked if she’s ever been worried about her weight, the curvy model answered with an honest “yes” but rather than stressing over being too big, Robyn said she was freaked out over getting too thin.

She said: “I found these crazy, old photos of me modelling and they took my breath away.”

“I was so skinny, and it was just not good enough.  It wasn't skinny enough. I had tried everything and I had whittled myself down to a point where I couldn’t be skinnier.”

“I can’t control my bone structure.  I can’t get skinnier than my bones.  I can’t.  You can change the sample.”

“Seeing those pictures reminded me that it’s important for girls not to feel like that.  I was weak.  I needed to be fit, healthy, and young.”

Robyn recently made history when she was the first non-sample-sized model to cover Sports Illustrated.

She is the latest in a string of high profile names – which includes Amy Schumer – calling for greater diversity in the industry.

Since more and more high street brands are now adding extra sizes to their lines, we're hopeful that fashion is slowly becoming more inclusive.

A full 8,500km away from her native city, Kerrie McMahon has found herself hoisted up into the warm Californian air to a height of some 6metres.

Gracing one of Sunset Boulevard’s famed billboards, the gorgeous UCD-graduate can be seen in a dark bikini advertising 138 Water – the celebrity-friendly bottled water which often hydrates the likes of Rob Kardashian, Hailey Baldwin, Lana Del Ray, and Blac Chyna.

An Irish model with BIG dreams of making it Stateside, she’s been busy building her career on home-soil while also steadily boosting her profile in the notoriously competitive Los Angeles entertainment industry.

And there’s no doubt that hard work pays off: Kerrie is now on the verge of becoming one of the most recognisable Irish names in the US.

“To see myself on a billboard is completely surreal!” the 27-year-old exclusively admitted to SHEmazing today.

“Being honest, just being on the Sunset Boulevard Strip is so exciting in itself – never mind having countless numbers of people seeing me in a major advertising campaign.

“It's funny being a million miles away back home in Ireland and my American friends sending me pictures of it as they drive past. They tell me they say ‘hey, I know her!’ when they spot my 138 photo, which always makes me smile.”

Kerrie shot the campaign recently at an undisclosed Hollywood mansion worth millions.

“There are a lot of mega-famous people in that part of the world,” she said coyly when asked about who owned the property – although she did tell us that hanging out with big names and celebrities is part-and-parcel of the social scene in LA.

It was last year when Kerrie had her first taste of high-profile stardom, securing her first 138 Water billboard advert – and to be asked back for another shoot this summer is a testament to how successful her debut was.

Next up for the Dundrum-native is an appearance on the famed pages of men’s magazine Maxim.

“I’ll be in the September edition,” she explained. “We shot in Las Vegas earlier this year. It was incredible – up in a seriously plush penthouse over-looking the city with a crew of photographers, hair and make-up people, technicians and stylists.”

Kerrie hopes to spend more time in the US over the next few months in order to capitalise on her recent successes.

The one thing she won’t be changing anytime even if she does make the move permanently to the US?

“My accent is definitely very much Irish!” she laughed. “A load people over there seem to initially think I’m Russian – until I open my mouth that is!

“I certainly haven’t lost a bit of my Irish accent – and I doubt at this stage I ever will.”
