The #MeToo movement has grabbed international attention, raising awareness of the rampant level of sexual harassment and sexism in modern society.

Now, one makeup company has spotted an opportunity to develop the concept into a cosmetics line.

Hard Candy Makeup has applied to trademark #MeToo for the purpose of developing fragrances and makeup, according to TMZ.

According to the gossip site, the trademark has yet to be accepted.

However, we're thinking that it's not all that ethical to benefit financially from a hashtag that raises awareness for sexual assault victims.

According to TMZ, the CEO of Hard Candy Makeup intends to 'give back to women worldwide' with the application.

It's not clear whether this means that the proceeds from the collection would go to the #MeToo campaign, but here's to hoping.

An 'industry source' told TMZ that this is the intention.

We could listen to James Vincent talk cosmetics for hours… and hours… and hours. (No seriously, we're obsessed.)

A make-up artist of incredible acclaim, James' list of clients includes the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Lady Gaga, so we were all ears when he decided to give an appraisal of Irish woman and their techniques.

While appearing on Today FM's Dermot and Dave Show in recent days, James provided a professional insight into the cosmetic trends currently doing the rounds in Ireland, and it sounds like we could all do with an injection of creativity.

While James acknowledged that "Irish women are considered to be some of the most beautiful in the world", he's noted that we appear to have a paint-by-numbers technique (our words, not his) when it comes to our faces.

"The thing that is strange to me is that everyone starts to look alike. I just walked through the department store on the way here and everyone has the same face," he surmised.

Joking that this may cause problems on the city's dating scene, James added: "I can only imagine how confusing it is for straight guys at the pub when you meet a girl. She walks away and then comes back over and you don't know who you were just talking to."

James did, however, say that cosmetic trends do tend to sweep major cities meaning that it's not surprising we tend to sport similar make-up styles, with James confirming that New York also has 'a look'.

Delving further still, James has noted the particular features we tend to accentuate in a similar way. saying: "I think if you look at Dublin right now, the brow is very specific, the bronzer is very specific, and it creates a look where people start to look similar."

"That's why I say individuality is really what it should be all about. You know, make up should make you feel individual," he advised.

Fair enough.

Makeup can be pricey, and despite pay day having just passed, no one wants to fork out a fortune to create the latest beauty looks.

Luckily, Boots is proving to be a bit of a makeup maven’s saviour with their latest three for two offer on in-store cosmetics.

While it may be an absolute bargain, Boots haven’t skimped on brands, with high-street favourites Bourjois, Rimmel, Soap & Glory, Max Factor and many more included in the deal.

Maybelline Master Strobing liquid – €9.99, Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner – €7.49 , L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick Red Passion – €10.49

Whatever the occasion, it’s fun to play around with makeup.

Dinner with the girls is always a good idea, and so is a classic Hollywood look.

Why not bring some glamour to the table this weekend with a killer red lip, courtesy of L’Oreal?

Adding a touch of sophistication to any ensemble, this Rimmel liner is ideal for those with shakier hands, as the sturdy liner nib helps keep messy lines to a minimum.

Finish off with a Hollywood highlight  in the form of Maybelline’s Master Strobing liquid highlighter and you’ll be ready to take snaps of yourself rather than your food.

Barry M Dazzle Dust Eye Shadow -€6.99, Soap & Glory Love at blush Highlight & Sculpt Stick- €11.00, Sleek MakeUP Dip It Glitter – €6.99

Festival fever is in the air, but no one wants to splash the cash on makeup that has a high risk of getting crumpled or lost at a camping event.

Thankfully, Boots offer is giving us major bang for our buck as well as keeping us up to date with festival makeup trends.

Glitter, glitter and more glitter is the way to go, which is why the Barry M dazzle dust is literally perfect for creating a myriad of sparkly eye looks.

More of a subtle makeup kind of girl? The Sleek glitter eyeliner is the perfect way to add a slight hint of sparkle, a festival update on your usual makeup routine.

Lastly, we need something to distract from those sleepy eyes, so a sculpting cheek stick will be seriously necessary to lift a tired face by day three of your festival of choice.

Max Factor Bronzer – €12.99, Rimmel Wake Me Up Make Up Foundation 30ml SPF 15 – €11.49, Bourjois’ Little Round Pot Nude Edition eye shadow – €9.99

New makeup is a holiday essential, and with the drizzle plaguing the country this weekend, we’re dreaming of far way places.

Whether you’re heading to the sun or on a city break, a foundation with built-in SPF is an essential to protect the skin.

Bronzer is the perfect way to fake a glow before you head to the sun, and will help you maintain your glowy look on your return.

To compliment your new bronzey hue, a gold eyeliner will pop against sun kissed skin, and with the Boots 3 for 2 offer, you won’t have to worry about splurging on products suited purely to summer.

Seventeen BB Magic Blemish Balm – €9.49, Revlon® ColorBurst™ Lacquer Balm – €11.49, Soap & Glory Love at First Blush Multi-Shade Blushing Powder 7.5g – €15.00

Sometimes a no-fuss-no-frills look is all we want on a lazy day.

Seriously, we have major respect for girls who manage to perfectly apply their faces everyday, but we just don’t have the commitment or the skill.

For a five minute face, all you really need are three products.

A brightening BB cream can be lightly applied with feathery fingertip strokes, and a lip liner chubby stick can create a moisturising swathe of lip colour in a mere second.

The Soap & Glory Love at First Blush Multi-Shade Blushing Powder is super versatile, with highlight and blush shades that can be used as eye shadow and bronzer when faffing around with extra products just doesn’t seem appealing.

Max factor Masterpiece Nude Palette 03 Rose Nudes – €19.99, Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit – €11.99, Rimmel London Sculpting Palette by Kate – €8.99

A big girls night out with the squad is the perfect time to get experimental with makeup.

From a dramatic smoky eye to a colour pop on the lid, this Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette has all the essential shades you could need to create an individual eye look on all your gal pals.

To keep those brows neat and tidy, snap up the Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit in the delightful 3 for 2 deal to create Instagram-worthy brows without the fuss.

Kim Kardashian-worthy contouring is the way to go for chiselled cheekbones, and a face triad is a simple way to achieve the look.

The amazing 3 for 2 offer is available in all Boots stores nationwide, but you better head in this weekend, as the offer is only running until July 4.

We’re prepared to have some majorly bulging makeup bags.

Just when you think the Internet couldn't possibly get any weirder, we discover Bitch Slap! Cosmetics

This unusual makeup company sells highlighter and bronzers with boobs, vaginas and penises stamped into them, because… feminism.

Our personal favourite, and one of the company's top sellers, is the "hairy balls highlighter" (we dare you to read that with a straight face).

Imagine being out for dinner, and touching up your makeup with HAIRY BALLS…?

OK… we're laughing out loud.

While we are totally obsessed with this company, we'll stick to MAC for now, thanks…

From its Starbucks-scented Christmas collection to its Better Than Sex mascara, Too Faced is well known for its quirky approach to cosmetics.

And not being one to shy away from an eye-catching trend, the beauty giant has released a holographic lipstick shade named after everyone’s favourite mystical creature.

In stick form, the ‘Unicorn Tears’ lip colour appears baby blue, but when applied, it dresses the lips in a shimmering state of iridescent pink.

Because the hype surrounding its recent return to market is gaining pace, we’d advise making this purchase ASAP.

The lucrative popularity of liquid lip kits has not been lost on some of our favourite reality TV stars.

While it all started with Kylie Jenner, the likes of Megan McKenna and now Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry are getting in on the action.

The 22-year-old Geordie lass brought out her range of eyelashes earlier this year, and just expanded her Chloe Ferry Cosmetics range to include liquid lipsticks.

A photo posted by ByChloeFerry (@bychloeferry) on

The lipsticks have received a mixed response online, with some Kylie Jenner fans accusing Chloe of copying the youngest member of the Kardashian clan.

One tweeter even described it as being like "single white female," in reference to the infamous movie featuring an obsessed female stalker.

"I love Kylie and she is one of my idols, I often get comparisons to her with how I look so now to be also bringing out my cosmetics line is a dream come true," Chloe told Reveal.

"Hi everyone! So I've got some amazing news! I'm bringing out my own lipstick collection. It's very affordable and it's exactly like Kylie's," the star said on her Snapchat.

At least the similarities haven't gone unnoticed by the Geordie Shore star.

"This is just the start!" she said, so maybe there are more than lipsticks in the pipeline.

James also happens to have an impressive following on social media, and for very good reason.

With almost 650,000 followers on his Instagram account and more than 90,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, James is quickly becoming one of the most important beauty gurus on the Internet.

His eyebrows are also NEXT LEVEL amazing…

James will appear in print, television and digital advertisements for the brand, alongside Katy Perry, who is CoverGirl's ambassador.

The company claims it is aiming to target Generation Z with this new marketing strategy, as they are more open to more fluid definitions of gender and sexuality.

“Our population is becoming increasingly diverse” said the vice president of marketing for the cosmetic company.

Big round of applause for CoverGirl, and James Charles of course!

YouTube is absolutely flooded with hair tutorials and make-up demos, and yet very few of us manage to keep up with all the latest tips, tricks and hacks on the beauty scene.

We’ve definitely heard of the latest trend and we might have actually seen it on someone in the flesh (the future is now, ladies), but when it comes to our own regime, a lot of us play it safe and stick to the old reliables in our make-up bag.

While it’s cool to find a style that suits and work it to the max, many of us tend to make the same make-up mistakes and skin care slip-ups on a daily basis which is why broadening your horizons on the cosmetic front is always a worthwhile exercise.

Here are just five times (this week) that we've failed on the beauty front.

1. The nitty-gritty

You could have splurged on the most expensive foundation on the market, but if your skin care routine isn’t up to scratch, you’re cheating yourself out of a flawless complexion.

Cleansing and toning are undoubtedly two of the more tedious aspects of our beauty routine, and probably why most of us tend to skimp on it whenever we can.

If you’ve been a face-wipe-and-run kind of girl for as long as you can remember, it’s definitely time to school yourself on your skin type and tone in order to make the best of it.

2. Hair care hassle

For many of us, drying, straightening and curling has become as regular a morning habit as brushing our teeth, but unfortunately this daily routine leaves our locks open to a world of trauma.

A lot of us are unsure how to best heat-style our hair without subjecting it to serious damage which is why many of us spend more time than we’d like to admit seeking and destroying split ends.

Learning how to style your hair without destroying it is the holy grail of hair care and something a lot of us need to learn sooner rather than later!

3. Make up ‘mares

You may have a foundation or blusher which you wouldn’t give up on pain of death, but as our look evolves over time, it’s important to keep on top of the cosmetic game and not rely on the same shades and styles for years.

Choosing the correct products and establishing the most flattering colours for you is what sets you apart from everyone else, and yet some of us still rock a product which should have been left behind years ago.

If you’ve found yourself frantically scrubbing a tidemark out of your jawline at some stage this week, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about!

4. Nailing it

Us Irish girls are absolutely MAD for Shellac and Geleration, and while they look fantastic at the time, it’s important to treat your nails well between treatments.

Giving your nails time to breathe, conditioning your cuticles and tending to your talons isn’t exactly something we’re taught in school, but it is something every girl should have a handle on.

Seeing your nails break and flake is about as uplifting as an evening watching The Antiques Roadshow.

5. Sun care slip-up

Read the lifestyle bio of any beauty industry heavy-hitter and they’ll insist that sun cream is one of the most important products in their beauty bag.

While some things that happen on holiday should remain on holiday, protecting your skin from the sun is not one of them, girls.

Yes, there are more wet days than any other in this country, but that doesn’t mean you’re immune from the sun’s rays, so schooling yourself on the damage which can be done when you scrimp on protection is an absolute must.

Thankfully, learning about skin care routines, make-up application, hair styling and nail nourishment has never been easier, so if you're interested in upping your game over the summer, why not check out the week-long courses kicking off at the Beauty Bootcamp Studios on Dublin's Fitzwilliam Street?

Taking place in June, July and August at just €190 a pop, the Total Teen Beauty Course is your one-stop-shop when it comes to all things beauty-related.

Oh, and at the end of the week when your winged eyeliner is on on fleek and your hairstylin' has been locked down, you'll walk away with a goody bag worth a cool €50.

You can find out more about the Beauty Bootcamp Studios and their various other courses right here!

Sofia Vergara's face has been used by a beauty company… And she's not happy.

The Modern Family actress said that Venus Company blew up images of her face and used them to promote its products worldwide.

In the suit, Sofia said that a simple Instagram post is what started it all off.

She got the Venus' Legacy treatment – a skin tightening massage – in August of 2014. While doing so she shared a photo on IG of herself on the table, which ended up getting 40,000 likes.

However, Ms Vergara didn't actually like the treatment and found it "a waste of time and money with little in the way of any results."

But, even though Sofia didn't recommend the treatment, that didn't stop Venus from putting up photos of her at exhibition booths and on its website, with captions like, "Loved by… bombshell actress Sofia Vergara."

Sofia wasn't even paid a cent for the promotion images, which she usually gets paid a lot for. The actress said that her going rate for beauty endorsements is $15million (€14m).

So, the beauty is suing Venus for at least that much, and she also wants the company to pull all of the materials with her face on them.

We never say no to a little bit of sparkle on our nails, and when it's as easy as this, we don't have to.

Korean salon owner Eun Kyung Park started something of an Instagram craze recently when she started using tiny pieces of holographic cellophane in her manicures.

The result? A sparkly/iridescent finish that gives the effect of a pane of shattered glass.

Design possibilities for this look are pretty endless – you can pile on the cellophane for a more layered look, or keep it simple, like this:

If your nail art budget won't stretch to a trip to Korea, fear not, as the process it VERY easy to recreate at home with nail foil or pink-toned cellophane.

1. Cut your cellophane into small shard-like triangles.

2. Paint your nails with a base coat as usual.

3. Then paint them with the colour of your choice – light colours work best for the iridescent effect.

4. With the polish still wet, use a tweezers to pick up the cellophane and place it on the nail in the pattern of your choice. Keeping the triangles vertical helps for the shattered-glass effect. You may need to work one nail at a time.

5. Allow your nails to dry, then paint over with two layers of top coat.

6. Enjoy the sparkle!

If you love a strong-brow look (and yes, pretty much everyone does), then you're probably already coveting the incredible arches of one Zendaya.

Yes, the singer and actress might just about have the most perfect eyebrows we've ever seen (sorry, Cara).

She usually pairs her statement brows with a complementing cat-eye and a soft nude or rose-hued lip.

However, whether she's dressed up or dressed down, those on fleek brow are still very much there present and correct.

So now the only question is… how do we too get our hands on Zendaya's brows?

OK, so the 19-year-old was definitely given a major helping hand genetically, but certainly the LA-native is giving us all-sorts of browspiration.

Here, SHEmazing! examines the five best products for fabulouso eyebrows.

1) Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo: Priced at €20.20, this product is fab for filling in gaps and inconsistencies.

2) Benefit Speed Brow: Set in lightning-quick time and gives a gorgeous, natural finish that Zendaya would be proud of.

3) RevitaBrow Advanced: Yup, it's €75 BUT if you're desperate and have serious case of over-plucking, this is brilliant to re-growth.

4) MAC Brow Set: Another quick 'n' easy product, this is perfect for a sleek look and ramains a stable of bloggers and makeup artists. Priced at €18.

5) Ottie Natural Drawing Auto Pencil: A steal at just €7.50, this flat pencil can twist and turn to do just about anything.

After the singer trademarked Fenty Beauty last year (Fenty is her legal surname), we expected to see Rihanna unveil a beauty and/or make up line any day.

And while we're STILL waiting… in a recent interview with Refinery29, the singer did appear to be preparing for a cosmetics launch in the not-so-distant future.

Hurrah!

"A beauty range is definitely something I am going to have my hands on and would love to do", she said.

“It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do, but I’ve always had so much on my hands. But, this time, I’m going to make sure it happens. I'm going to find some time between albums and fragrance to do that."

Sounds promising to us.

The Barbados-beauty also shed some light on what would be her fantasy beauty products.

"There are a lot! Lashes that could just put themselves on… lipstick that doesn’t move, but doesn’t dry your lips out, that you don’t need a liner for. I mean, it sounds so unreal."

Following her collaborations with MAC and her own reputation for looking great ALL THE TIME, we're sure her beauty line will be far from dull.
