Protecting your hair from the harsh winter elements can be tricky at best, but we’ve got you covered. Think of us like cuddly pals who are strangely obsessed with keeping your hair flawless in winter.

From static frizz to brittle split ends, there are all kinds of reasons why Christmas season wreaks havoc on hair.

Hat-head aftermath and cashmere-caused static are two major culprits, but applying heat to your locks from blow-drying wet hair also leads to trouble in hair paradise.

"How do I go from Coldilocks to Snow Queen this Christmas?", we hear you ask.

Introducing our cheat sheet for your winter hair:

1. DON’T leave your house with wet hair, this is a one way trip to Flu Land. Wet hair can also break easily if it’s frozen from the drop in temperature, just don’t do it gals.

2. Try to keep a balanced temperature in your home so you don’t have massive shocks when you leave the house or come in from work: this can irritate both your skin and scalp.

3. Turn the hot water in your shower down just a tad, your hair will thank you later.

In the winter, we all crave scalding hot showers to allow our bodies to regulate its temperature after spending all day in the cold, but hot water isn’t good for your hair, it actually dehydrates it.

By keeping it just above lukewarm, you’ll prevent having dry skin and scalp. Keep the moisture in your mane, huns.

To prevent those precious oils from escaping, we recommend Argan oil products. Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Oil has ingredients like buckthorn oil and pumpkin seed oil, which are both rich in fatty acids for retaining moisture.

4. Coconut oil is also renowned for treating dry and brittle hair in winter. Use 100% organic coconut oil from your local health foods shop and spot the difference in time for Santa to make it down the chimney.

5. John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7-Day Treatment targets deflated hair fibres—plumping them up for days, some say it even lasts a week. John Frieda, you Christmas angel.

6. Use heat protection before blow drying your hair, try Tresemmé Keratin Smooth 7 Day System Heat Activated Treatment. It’s heat-activated, which means the substance is offering a semi-permanent solution to that crown of stray hairs. MAGICAL.

7. OUR TOP TIP: We are absolutely WORSHIPPING Santa’s little hairdryer right now: LanaiBLO.

Keep your hair dry and bouncy with volume by using the Limited Edition Rose Gold LanaiBLO.

Let it snow then let it blow, we say. They promise to keep your hair shimmering and shiny with an ultra sleek finish, it’s also an ideal gift for your loved ones if you’re stuck for a present.

However, this hairdryer is so gorge that you’ll most likely want to keep it all to yourself… we know we do.

It’s lightweight, has an ultra long cord so you can dry your hair without having to linger near the plug socket and comes in three colours; pretty-in-pink, snow white and midnight black.

It’s technology works to seal in moisture and counteract frizz, leaving those locks more stylish than ever for all those Christmas parties and celebrations.

Those of us who still have a 90's heavyweight hairdryer will know the struggle of trying to dry your hair with the equivalent of a minor breeze. *sigh*

Holly Willoughby, Dani Dyer, Made in Chelsea’s Binky and Rosie, Frankie Gaff, Una Healy, models Rosanna Davidson and Lottie Moss are among LanaiBlo's famous clients, and for a good reason.

There are few women in this world who don’t genuinely care about what they look like, and usually that begins with their skin. Whether they have suffered from acne as a youth or are experiencing the premature signs of aging, they want to look their best (and youngest of course!) because that makes them feel better.

Sometimes it isn’t even about the way others perceive them but rather how they want to see themselves. Unfortunately, too few of us truly understand what it takes to have that radiant skin we see on models and our favorite celebs, but believe it or not, you can have that beautiful skin you want but it might take some work and a few well-chosen, anti-aging skincare products.

What Makes a Histotechnician Expert in Skincare?

This is a question you might well ask! To many of us outside the medical arena, this is a term we’ve probably never heard. However, you have heard of a pathology lab and a pathologist, haven’t you? Actually, it is the histotechnician who prepares slices of tissue (biopsies) to be analyzed by a pathologist to determine whether or not it is diseased, and if it is, what the nature of that disease is.

So, while a histotechnician doesn’t actually diagnose diseased tissue, they do spend hours behind a microscope and have learned to identify the leading markers of diseased tissue. So, having said that Svetlana Wickstrom is an experienced histotechnician, you can understand why it’s a big deal that the skincare she prefers and uses is from a small new company called Birdie and Peppers, featuring all-natural products for the entire body.

Leading Causes of Problem Skin

Bringing her knowledge of histotechnology with her to the cosmetics arena, Svetlana knows how to identify damaged skin and is better able to identify the root causes than even the leading estheticians. This is how she knows that many of the problems we experience today are the direct result of unhealthy chemicals and additives to the products we have been using for so many years. Included in this list of taboo ingredients are such things as parabens, fragrance and oils.

Each has its own set of problems but suffice it to say that each of those sets of ingredients can do more damage than good. However, fragrance is something which is altogether too often misunderstood. Not all products that have a fragrance are unhealthy, but those which include the words ‘fragrance’ or ‘scent’ on the label are probably formulated with chemicals mimicking natural scents. Parabens have been linked to breast cancer and oils, well, everyone knows how some oils clog the pores leading to everything from acne to ugly red splotches that become inflamed.

Learning Where to Place Your Trust

So then, who would you entrust with your skincare regimen? Would you rather give your skin over to a member of an $84 billion dollar industry or someone with a medical background who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is? Yes, Svetlana Wickstrom is a member of the cosmetics industry, but she is outspokenly vocal about the dangers of cosmetics as they stand today. Where do you place your trust?

If you love a strong-brow look (and yes, pretty much everyone does), then you're probably already coveting the incredible arches of one Zendaya.

Yes, the singer and actress might just about have the most perfect eyebrows we've ever seen (sorry, Cara).

She usually pairs her statement brows with a complementing cat-eye and a soft nude or rose-hued lip.

However, whether she's dressed up or dressed down, those on fleek brow are still very much there present and correct.

So now the only question is… how do we too get our hands on Zendaya's brows?

OK, so the 19-year-old was definitely given a major helping hand genetically, but certainly the LA-native is giving us all-sorts of browspiration.

Here, SHEmazing! examines the five best products for fabulouso eyebrows.

1) Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo: Priced at €20.20, this product is fab for filling in gaps and inconsistencies.

2) Benefit Speed Brow: Set in lightning-quick time and gives a gorgeous, natural finish that Zendaya would be proud of.

3) RevitaBrow Advanced: Yup, it's €75 BUT if you're desperate and have serious case of over-plucking, this is brilliant to re-growth.

4) MAC Brow Set: Another quick 'n' easy product, this is perfect for a sleek look and ramains a stable of bloggers and makeup artists. Priced at €18.

We admit it – we love nothing more than to run out and buy the latest beauty ‘must-have’, but the reality is that we could live without most of these things. Here are the top five beauty products you don’t REALLY need:

Primer
Does applying primer REALLY make a difference to how your make-up looks, or how long it stays on? Some make-up artists even say it can clog your pores! Are you really going to fork out your hard earned cash for that? It’s a pity too because we love the silky feeling it gives our skin!

Toner
Some people may disagree, but you can definitely live without toner. It’s meant to get rid of any residual product after cleansing, but most cleansers come off pretty easily these days. It’s also supposed to close up your pores – nothing a splash of cold water can’t sort out!

Foot cream
Any cream that claims to be for one specific part of your body is lying. A general body lotion is the best way to go – and less clutter in the bathroom!

Shaving cream
All shaving cream does is soften the hairs and make it easier to glide the razor over the skin, something that a blob of hair conditioner can do just as well! A lot of shower gels these days have moisturising qualities too so they would also work. Though we do like the way it foams up!

SPF 100
While it’s important to protect your skin from the sun, forking out for an extra high SPF factor isn’t really necessary. SPF 30 protects you from 97% of UV rays, while SPF 100 is only 2% better at 99% protection. Just make sure to use whatever factor you choose properly by applying it evenly and regularly.
