Getting lip fillers has become a front-and-centre kind thing in the media, thanks to celebs like Kylie Jenner and Megan Barton Hanson being vocal about using them.

While there are zillions of clinics and aestheticians that can safely give you a fuller pout, there are just as many places that will put yourself at massive risk.

And no-one wants that.

Irish clinic Consultant Clinic, which also has clinics in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and London, has taken to social media to blast people choosing non-medics to get lip fillers – and the results are scary.

A post shared by The Consultant Clinic (@consultant_clinic) on

They uploaded snaps of the treatment-gone-wrong (which should be avoided for if you're in ANY way squeamish) and told teh story of a woman who wanted to get her lips done for a wedding but went to a beautician to get them, in a non-clinical home setting.

They wrote, '' We post for public interest and your safety and information – to make you aware of exactly what risks you're taking by choosing a non medic as your injector. The beautician, couldn't have done a better job of an intravascular injection if she had tried, and blocked off her arterial supply, by injecting a huge blob of filler into the vessel, starving it of oxygen and life.''

The horrifying story continued, ''The lips became ischaemic, and were agony. The tissue of her lip rapidly died and rotted on her face, and yes you can see correctly – actually FELL OFF.''

The Clinic does say that this can happen with even highly trained practitioners but the fact that the doctor didn't recognising ischaemia and necrosis is dangerous.

A post shared by The Consultant Clinic (@consultant_clinic) on

The post continued, ''Is this a risk you really want to take with your face, the essence of your identity and self-esteem? Thank you so much to the lovely @dr.alaa_aref for allowing us to use her images, and for helping to raise awareness.''

People were horrified by this tale and took to the comments to say so.

One said, ''This is terrible! Frustrating to see such poor injecting, poor understanding of anatomy and poor management (or non existent rather) of a serious complication! We need some serious regulation in this industry!''

While another wrote, ''This is so, so heartbreaking. I can’t imagine what she’s feeling now. I really hope there’s a way out through surgery and that the practitioner gets held accountable for this.''

Take this as a major warning – if you're going for this type of procedure research you will be messing wth your face BEFORE you have it done because the alterative is so not worth it.

It’s Pancake Tuesday, people. And that means getting out your batter mix, stocking up on Nutella and getting ready to show off those serious pancake skills – well, sort of.

While this hallowed day remains a source of much excitement for us big kids out there, many of us are still learning how to perfect the idyllic pancake.

And if you are anything like us, you're not even close. Here are seven signs you are a total pancake novice:

1) You still follow a recipe for pancake batter

And have been known to give in and buy the pre-made stuff

2) You are ten times more excited about the toppings than the pancakes

Nutella, marshmallows, lemon, sugar, sprinkles, Cadbury's, maple syrup, the possibilities are ENDLESS

3) Attempts to flip pancakes in the pan have ended in disaster

You are totally okay with not being skilled in this department

4) Your pancakes usually unintentionally end up being a cross between a waffle and a crepe

But it always taste just right… most of the time

5) You have realised that not over-cooking one side of a pancake is a literal pre-ordained skill

And you cannot master it

6) You have never mastered the perfect pancake

But it's okay because the toppings cover all

7) Thank goodness for places like Lemon

If all else fails, you're going out.

Because pancakes of some description are simply a necessity today. MMMMM…

For the past few years, our hair has been ruled by a benevolent (yet often absent when we need him most) ruler – the bobby pin.

We've been using them to pin back annoying fringes, secure up-dos and smooth flyaways, ignoring all other hair accessories in favour of the almost invisible slides.

However, the days of minimal hair accessories are behind us, because the 90s are back in a big way when it comes to hair maintenance.

While it may bring us back to our primary school days, the humble hairclip is having a resurgence.

Spotted on celebs like Solange Knowles, Bella Hadid, Elsa Hokje and Miley Cyrus, the look has some very famous seals of approval.

Brands like D&G, Max Mara and Ashish all sent their models down the runway at recent fashion weeks with hair clips in their hair, and it's a utilitarian trend we can get behind.

Seriously, how easy would it be to get your hair off your face with the ease of one or two hair clips instead of approximately 10,000 bobby pins (who will all be lost by the end of the day.

As well as being functional, you can pick up clips in a myriad of styles and colour, to see any ensemble from alternative to conservative.

We're here for any trend that saves us hassle in the morning, so we'll be clipping back our bangs for the rest of the summer.

We all know the story by now – Tristan Thompson allegedly cheated on Khloe Kardashian, the mother of his child, with Jordyn Woods, a long-time family friend of the Karashians and someone Khloe viewed as 'a sister.'

The alleged incident occurred at a houseparty two weekends ago, and it's all anyone can talk about since.

Following Jordyn's tell-all Red Table Talk, Khloe firmly appointed the blame for breaking up her family on Jordyn, saying that while Tristan was also to blame, it had hurt her more that someone she was close to would do this.

However, fans are now speculating that Khloe and Tristan werent together when he kissed Jordyn in the first place – and that perhaps this whole shenanigan is just a way to drum up more publicity with a messy break up.

During her Red Table Talk, there is a detail at the beginning of the interview most people missed – Jordyn referring to Tristan as Khloe's ex from the get-go, rather than her partner.

'We’re all dancing and drinking. I’m not thinking, ‘I shouldn’t be here,' she beings.

'And that’s my first step where I went wrong. And how would I feel if someone close to me is hanging at my ex’s house—the father of my child?'

'I didn’t think about that. That’s the first part of the problem. I should have gone home after the party.'

So, does Jordyn's referral of Tristan as Koko's ex meant they may have already been broken up by the time this all went down?

Fans certainly seem to think so, however Khloe's initial claim that Jordyn is the reason her family is now broken up would lead you to think differently.

However, in the days following the interview, Khloe then tweeted: 'Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault.'

It's still not clear what the status of their relationship was when Tristan kissed Jordyn, but either way I think we can all agree that wah happened was wrong.

Want Safe and Secure Bikini Shave? Follow These Rules

We live in a world where 77% of women shave their bikini line, at least in the United States of America. Now, while a bikini shave looks great, and it is the new trend, it can be painful if it goes wrong. Every woman who has ever had a shave gone wrong knows the full pain and irritation that comes with it.

Bumps, ingrown hair, irritation, red skin, and more. One way to get a good clean shave is to use the best bikini trimmer. With that in mind, here are some unwritten rules for a smooth, safe, and secure bikini shave.

Buy a good razor

As mentioned previously, it is one thing to shave your bikini line with whatever comes along and a completely different with a good quality razor. But picking the best razor for a bikini line is not an easy task.

You want a firm and sturdy razor with soothing strips. The more blades there are, the more pressure it dispenses, and allows each blade to cut with less force and more effect.

With that in mind, once you look at all of the different bikini razors, make sure to read reviews of other customers. And see if the quality is there.

And remember, throwaways are great for travelling, but they are labelled disposable for a reason. Throwaway razors are not something you want to use on your bikini line.

Prepare your body

One trick to prevent ingrown hair on your bikini line is to prepare the area before shaving. Spend just 10 minutes in warm water to soften the outer layer of your skin and make it easier to remove hair. This will also lessen the risk of razor burns.

After 10 minutes in warm water, just pat the skin dry to remove excess water. Now that your bikini line is clean and dry, exfoliate with a wet washcloth to remove any dead skin cells, and allow the blade to get closer to the skin. This will ensure a clean and smooth shave, and prevent any impurities clogging your skin and causing ingrown hair.

Remember to use shaving cream

Shaving cream is one of the most important ingredients for a clean shave. Not many people know this, but when you are shaving, you are shaving your skin as well. And if there is no shaving cream to create a slip, you might abrade your skin and leave it irritated. You do not want that.

Now, same as you want to invest in a good quality razor, you want and need to invest in a good quality shaving cream or gel as well. Look at the label. There should be a short list of moisturising ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, or shea butter in it. Those are ingredients that will allow your razor to glide on your skin.

Apply only a thin layer of shaving cream.

Be mindful of your shaving technique

When you shave the bikini line, it is important to remember that you should not go in many different directions. Stick to one direction. Going into different directions will result in cuts, ingrown hairs, and much more.

As for the direction? Shave in just one direction and that is with the hair growth. Glide the razor gently and keep the blade downward without adding any pressure. One pass is enough, especially if you are using a good quality razor.

Aftercare

After shaving, it is your job to calm the skin. Wash off as soon as you are done with shaving and hold a cold compress for a few minutes to prevent any irritation. You can even apply an anti-redness serum, one that is fragrance-free, to prevent razor burns. If you have intense irritation, apply topical steroids.

Moisturise

Another important step in shaving your bikini line is applying moisture on the area after shaving. Hydration is key after shaving. You want an alcohol free and fragrance-free moisturiser to both sides of the bikini line. This will lock in the moisture and prevent over-drying. Look for products that contain jojoba oil, vitamin E, and aloe vera, all soothing and hydrating ingredients.

Clean the razor

Now that you are done with shaving and taking care of the area, it is time to clean your bikini razor. After every shave, sanitise your blades with rubbing alcohol and hot water. If your razor looks rusty, throw it away. Or if you have been using the razor for a while, it is time for a replacement. After five or seven shaves, you should change your blades. Store blades in a clean and dry place to avoid bacteria that might bind to the razor due to the humidity of the shower.

It's fair to say that the Garrihy sisters – Aoibhin, Ailbhe and Doireann – are immensely talented and beyond stunning.

And when we meet them – along with their mum Clare, their close bond is easy to see.

The foursome are set to take part in Vhi'sWomen's Mini Marathon, which will on Bank Holiday Sunday June 2, at 2pm and they cant wait to do the 10K together.

As Doireann says, ''It's a great day there's people from all over the place of different backgrounds, shapes, size, ages…''

Aoibhin chimes in, ''When you see the sea of colour, everyone with their own t-shirt on and their own reason for being there, there's something emotional about it.''

A post shared by Ailbhe Garrihy (@ailbhegarrihy) on

While all four women are active and exercise regularly, Ailbhe has another reason for wanting to stay in shape – her wedding.

She's set to walk down the aisle in October and she revealed that she's in the throes of planning a three-day extravaganza that'll be in County Clare.

She says that she is quite relaxed about it all, ''Unlike Aoibhin who was sending us mood boards!''

The sisters are close in age and their relationship is more like that of mates then siblings, with Doireann and Ailbhe living together.

Aoibhin hits the nail on the head when she says that sisterhood is like, ''Having a forever friend'' and Ailbhe adds that it's having a ''Frank friend without a filter.''

While they still argue, the days of killing each other and stealing each others clothes are long gone.

As always, the three girls have a busy 2019 coming up, with Doireann having made the move from Spin 103.8 to Today FM.

In addition to having another series of The Doireann Project on the way, she also says that having her own show is the dream.

She said, ''I'd love a magazine style show where it's laid-back and you can talk about anything and everything. I don't know if I'd be cut out for breakfast radio though – those hours!''

Aoibhin has other projects that have temporarily taken her away from acting, but she still has a special place in her heart for dancing, after appearing on Dancing With The Stars in 2018.

Was it nerve-wracking having to dance live on air?

She said, ''It was the other stuff actually. We trained 8 – 10 hours a day'' to which mum Clare adds, ''She would come home, watch the dancing and call Vitali (her pro dance partner) and say what she wasn't happy with.''

It's such a pleasure to meet a family so close-knit and supportive of each other – and I have a feeling no matter what the Garrihy sisters do, they'll be amazingly successful.

Glossier is known for it's 'skin first' approach to makeup, promoting barely there, it-gal makeup looks with their innovative products.

However, the brand is now ready to introduce their customers to something a little more playful, outwardly gauche but ultimately incredibly chic.

'A brand of dialled-up beauty extras that make getting ready the best part about going out,' reads the tag line for Glossier Play, the new brand Glossier has been teasing for weeks.

The new collection is made up of four beauty products which are an amplified take on the Glossier look.

These four, combined with two beauty tools, make editorial, fashion show makeup accessible.

Colourful cosmetics are increasing in popularity thanks to the exhibitionist, experimental nature of digital beauty gurus – and makeup as art is making a come back.

Glossier Glitter Gelée €14.00

Jelly formulas are having a moment, and Glossier has clearly tapped into that. Recognising it's customer bases' craving for an editorial, backstage-at-London-fashion-week eye, the brand is introducing a series of Glitter Gelées.

The glitter gel is generously packed with glitters, in a quadrant of trendy shades.

Bijoux Bijoux, a gun metal silver, caught our eye as the stand out – and we can see these being particularly popular come summer and festival season.

Glossier Colourslide eyeliner €15.00, Glossier Vinylic Lip €16.00

In the lip department, Glossier is launching a brand new colour contributor to pat on when your The Balm Dot Com isn't cutting it.

The Vinylic Lip is designed to give a high-shine, high-pigment delivery. The lip vinyl comes in six essential colours, ranging from a 90s taupe to an electric 90s orange.

The Colourslide eye liner is also amping up the saturation – with a range of colours we have truly never seen in an eyeliner offering before.

Baby blue, sparkly khaki, bright mustard yellow, moondust and magenta are all on the menu, plus nine others.

Glossier Niteshine €19.00

Lastly in makeup, is the release of the Glossier Play Niteshine.

The liquid glow comes in a range of hues, in an attempt to cater to all skin tones. From baby rose and champagne to deep coppery-brown, only time and tutorials will tell if they succeeded.

Outside of tone range, the liquid highlighters promise to blend seamlessly onto cheekbones, brow bones, Cupid’s bows, and eyelids, and provide a buildable effect. If their Haloscope glow sticks are anything to go by, Glossier understands highlighter – so this will be a roaring success.

It's the priciest item of the four new offerings, but if you have experience with liquid highlights, you'll know they last forever.

Other than makeup items, the Glossier Play family also includes a specifically engineered sharpener for lip and eye pencils, as well as an angled eye liner brush.
