She honoured the Times Up campaign by wearing a stunning black dress to last night’s Golden Globes, but there was something extra special about Emma Stone’s makeup look from the award ceremony.

The Oscar winner’s makeup artist shared a stunning photo of her makeup look with her Instagram followers, captioned, “This woman’s strength and beauty truly know no bounds. #emmastone heading to the #goldenglobes red carpet tonight. Emerald green eyes and violet stained lips.”

The Battle of the Sexes star wore violet lipstick and emerald green eyeshadow for the most empowering reason. Her makeup artist Rachel Goodwin revealed that Emma’s look was inspired by the Suffragette movement.

She shared, “Tonight my beauty inspiration came from the symbolic colours of the women’s suffrage movement. I wanted to create a makeup that would somehow be imbued with the message of female empowerment and solidarity.”

The makeup artist explained that Emma wore purple as it symbolises the royal blood that flows through the veins of every Suffragette.

She added that purple stood for their, “instinct for freedom and dignity, white stands for purity in private and public life.”

The La La Land star rocked the most stunning green eye-shadow which symbolised hope, which was one of the main themes of last night’s event.

Alongside Emma, hundreds of Hollywood stars hoped to raise awareness by wearing black on the Golden Globes red carpet.

Nicole Kidman, Viola Davis, Chris Hemsworth, Emilia Clarke, Reese Witherspoon, Zac Efron, the cast of Stranger Things all wore black in honour of the Times Up campaign.

We love how Emma used something as simple as makeup to spread an empowering and important message!

Harry Potter fans could hardly contain their excitement during last night's Golden Globes ceremony, after two of the series' best-loved characters reunited on stage.

Emma Watson and Robert Pattison caused a bit of frenzy when they teamed up to present the Best Television Limited Series to the winner Big Little Lies, some 13 years after appeared on screen together.

For those of you unfamiliar with the pairing, cast your minds back to 2005 when the actors starred as Hermione Granger and Cedric Diggory in fourth film in the magical franchise, Harry Potter an the Goblet of Fire.

It was Robert's first big movie role and was no doubt the launching pad for a successful career that saw him go on to star as Edward Cullen in the Twilght saga and a host of independent films such as Remember Me and Water for Elephants

Needless to say, the mini reunion sent Harry Potter fans into overdrive with many hoping that the duo would be joined by Gary Oldman who played Sirius Black in the series.

The final series of Game of Thrones may be over a year away, but fans of the hit HBO show won't have to wait that long before returning to Westeros.

While most of us are dreaming of sandy beaches and sky-high temperatures, some GoT fans are preparing themselves for a uniquely freezing experience as they book into Finland's first ever Thrones– themed ice hotel.

A post shared by SnowVillage (@snowvillagefinland) on

Sitting at the centre of Lapland's SnowVillage, the famous Snow Hotel boasts 25 snow rooms and suites as well as an Ice Restaurant, Ice Bar, Ice Chapel and outdoor galleries of snow ice and art, every inch of which has been inspired by the popular fantasy series.

It's a dream getaway for any devoted Game of Thrones fan – if you can get past the -5C sleeping temperatures that is.

But, there's a catch.

A post shared by SnowVillage (@snowvillagefinland) on

Just like all good things, Finland's GoT ice hotel won't last forever.

As temperatures begin to rise the structure will melt away for another year, when a new theme will be born.

The SnowVillage will remain open until Sunday, April 8 – meaning you'll need to act fast if you want to book a spot.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland is calling on restaurant owners to ask diners for a down payment at the time of booking.

It is hoped that the new policy will lead to a reduction in the amount of people who fail to turn up despite having booked a table.

The problem, which was “rampant across the country” over Christmas, is costing the restaurant industry huge sums annually.

Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast, the association's chief executive officer, Adrian Cummins said:

“The industry needs to do something about this. We need to stamp out ‘no shows’. People will have to give advance notice of 24 to 48 hours if they are going to cancel.”

They are recommending that each establishment dictate its own notice period and deposit amount, though Mr Cummins thought an average of €20 per booking of four or more was fair.

Should the diners attend the meal as planned, the specified amount would be deducted from the table's final bill.

What do you think about the proposed changes?

“When I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it. All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again.”

She went on to explain that although the abuse eventually stopped, there are other women who are not so lucky.

“Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. But some of us aren't as lucky to get out alive. Please today stand up for every soul Mistreated. #timesup.”

The body positivity movement has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years.

In an effort to shut down unrealistic beauty expectations, more and more bloggers are ditching the filters and face-tuning apps and are instead choosing to embrace their true selves, flaws and all.

It's a breath of fresh air in a world of airbrushed models and #spon posts, and it's creating a healthier and more accepting environment for young women online.

However, putting yourself out there can come with a huge amount of backlash.

Few bloggers can make it a week without receiving any negative of hurtful comments, and unfortunately this kind of reaction is far more common when someone doesn't live up to society's definition of the 'perfect' woman.

Something plus-sized activist, Melissa Gibson, knows all too well.

A post shared by Melissa Gibson (@yourstruelymelly) on

Melissa, a body positive blogger from Louisville, Kentucky regularly shares empowering photos with her 200,000+ Instagram followers, with the aim of encouraging young women to love their bodies.

Most of her posts are met with a hugely positive reaction, with many followers thanking her for teaching them that it's OK to love the body you're in.

However, after posting a photo of her and her boyfriend Jonathan celebrating New Year's Eve together, Melissa was inundated with a host of hurtful and judgemental comments.

Some claimed that Melissa's weight somehow made her unworthy of her relationship, while others implied that Jonathan must have some kind of fetish for wanting to be with a plus-sized woman.

A post shared by Melissa Gibson (@yourstruelymelly) on

Speaking to Café Mom, the blogger said: “I think people feel entitled because there is a sense that attraction is tied only to bodies that fit within a certain mould, one that my body does not fit into, but my partner's does.”

“What they are doing is not only defining a person's worth by their body, but also then buying into ideas about who deserves to be loved and by whom.”

When taking a picture in a sparkly dress next to the man you love makes people comment about your body, question your relationship, make judgements about him for loving you. Our relationship is political. Even though we both know how natural and right it feels. And if the world won’t just let us be, we will keep fighting for our love, for our space, for our right to be seen, accepted without question, and celebrated. In all honesty it’s silly to think it bothers people so much, but when privileged people base their value on attraction and relationships, it results in the plethora of relationships that look like mine being erased and delegitimized. Like somehow I don’t deserve him or our love isn’t real. We are exactly what each other wants, and guess what, our bodies are a part of that. It’s not a abnormal or a fetish. It’s simply natural. So while you insist on yelling your insecurities and bigotry at me, realize I’m not playing the game you play any longer. I’m not playing by your rules. And it’s honestly sad you still are. 2018 is the year for Love that is not defined by weight, age, ability, genitals, gender, sexuality. Not defined by race or ethnicity or religion. We’re having more fun this way anyway ;). #love #bf #relationshipgoals #fatbabe #visiblewomen #louisville #newyearseve #2018 #nye #debshops ………. ALSO THIS DRESS IS FROM @debshops FOR ALL THOSE THAT ASKED. Remember I always tag where I got my clothing in the picture.

Two days after the backlash, Melissa posted another photo taken on the same night followed by a clear message for anyone who thought they had the right to make assumptions about her and Jonathan's relationship.

“If the world won’t just let us be, we will keep fighting for our love, for our space, for our right to be seen, accepted without question, and celebrated,” she wrote.

“In all honesty it’s silly to think it bothers people so much, but when privileged people base their value on attraction and relationships, it results in the plethora of relationships that look like mine being erased and delegitimized.”

Attention singletons!

The quest to find the perfect parter can sometimes feel like a never ending cycle of bad date and even worse breakups.

Whether it's a woeful first meeting, a stage five clinger, or the love of your life who wants absolutely nothing to do with you, the Irish dating scene doesn't exactly have the best reputation.

However, that could all be about change because the modern day Cupids over at The Late Late Show want to round up the best of the country's single lads and ladies for a very special Valentine's Day episode.

Interested candidates must be over 18, single, and up for a bit of craic.

If this sounds like you, simply fill out the online application here.

The show is set to air on Friday, February 9, and if it's anything like last year's innuendo-filled extravaganza, we're in for a treat.
