The name's Elba, Idris Elba (sorry).

Bond fans, listen up – it looks like your new 007 is going to be London actor Idris Elba.

And we're not sure how we feel about the whole thing tbh.

The 45-year-old's hat has been in the ring for some time now along with the likes of Irish actor Aidan Turner and Brit Tom Hiddleston.

According to Esquire, the idea of Elba as Bond started waaay back in 2014, when a few emails were leaked in the massive Sony hack.

Then-studio co-chair Amy Pascal had let slip to a a colleague that "Idris should be the next Bond."

Idris spent the last few years denying that he wil be taking on the role and even advocated that the next Bond should be female.

Well, it looks like that won't be the case as it's now being reported that Bond producers are seriously eager for Idris to snap up the part.

According to the Independent, ''director Antoine Fuqua revealed the details of a conversation with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, in which she said "it is time" for a non-white actor to take on the iconic role. Fuqua discussed who might be next in the running with Broccoli, who's certain the progressive move "will happen eventually", with Idris Elba a reported frontrunner for the role.''

This latest news has obviously got a massive response and a few contrasting opinions to say the least.

While some people were excited for Idris to step into the role, saying, ''I have seen exactly one bond film since they replaced Roger Moore…..Idris Elba as Bond I gotta see though!'' others had their reservations, especially when it came to the actor's age.

''I wouldn't mind Idris Elba as the new bond I guess, except that he's way too old! Why do they keep casting old Bonds! He's meant to be in his middle 30s!'' one tweeted.

That's a fair point but remember when people were going mad because Daniel Craig was blonde and they couldn't imagine a fair-haired Bond?

So we say g'luck to Idris if he's successful – he's a fab actor so we're sure he'll smash it anyway.

Kelly Osbourne has always been open about her difficult relationship with alcohol and the effect t ahd on her mental health.

She took to Instagram to mark one year of sobriety in a heartfelt post.

She explains that she had hit a bad period in her life last year and had ''give up on everything'' including herself.

She writes, ''life on life’s terms became to much for me to handle. The only way I knew how to function was to self medicate and go from project to project so I never had to focus on what was really going on with me. Something had to give… and it did.''

This past year has been one of the hardest years of my life and I feel it’s time share that with you guys. To cut a long story short things got really dark. I gave up on everything in my life but most of all I gave up on myself. Life on life’s terms became to much for me to handle. The only way I knew how to function was to self medicate and go from project to project so I never had to focus on what was really going on with me. Something had to give… and it did. I have spend the past year truly working on my mind body and soul! I had to take a step out of the public eye away from work and give myself a chance to heal and figure out who the fuck I really am without a camera in my face. I want to take this time to thank my brother @jackosbourne who answered the phone to me one year ago today and picked me up from where I had fallen yet again without judgment. He has held my hand through out this whole process. Thank you to my Mum and Dad for never giving up on me. I love my family with all my heart. Thank you to the friends who have walked the path of sobriety with me I could not have done this with out there love and support. I can’t believe It’s been a year!!! I still don’t know who the fuck I am or what the fuck I want but I can whole heartedly confess that I’m finally at peace with myself and truly starting to understand what true happiness is. I’m sorry if I let anyone down it was just time for me to work on me! I love you guys!

A post shared by Kelly Osbourne (@kellyosbourne) on

However, Kelly went on to say that once she realised this, she did the right thing – taking time out to focus on herself.

''I have spend the past year truly working on my mind body and soul! I had to take a step out of the public eye away from work and give myself a chance to heal and figure out who the f*ck I really am without a camera in my face,'' she said.

The 33-year-old credits her family , including her mum Sharon and dad Ozzy for their part in helping her on teh road to recovery

However it is her brother Jack – who she has a close bond with – that ''held my hand through out this whole process.''

''I want to take this time to thank my brother @jackosbourne who answered the phone to me one year ago today and picked me up from where I had fallen yet again without judgment. He has . Thank you to my Mum and Dad for never giving up on me. I love my family with all my heart. Thank you to the friends who have walked the path of sobriety with me I could not have done this with out there love and support.''

There was a flood of supportive messages across Instagram and Twitter from fans and friends alike offering words of encouragement and love.

One wrote, ''it’s more important to make sure you are healthy. Try not to worry about how fans or so-called-fans or haters react. While it may not mean anything since you don’t know me, I’ll say I’m proud of you for finding some solid ground.''

Another said, ''congrats on 1 yr!! That’s a huge accomplishment & you should be proud of yourself!! Keep fighting the good fight, it will be worth it! You are worth it!''

Kelly has spoken out before about her involvement with drugs and how it all began when she was only 13-years-old.

In an interview with PEOPLE in a 2009 she revealed that following a six-year battle for sobriety that included four visits to rehab, she was was ready to get sober because she had made the choice to do so.

“For me, it was either I was going to die, or I was going to get help,” Kelly said.

“I decided that I wanted to live, that life is worth living and that I have an incredible family and friends and why am I allowing myself to be so miserable?”

We're so delighted for Kel and wish her many more years of sobriety – we know she can do it.

Kanye West is back at it, philosophising with the world about his particular point of view, and this time he got personal.

The rapper has been known for voicing his theories about society’s organisation and function on social media and in interviews.

His appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday evening brought up discussions of his past, politics, and family.

Amidst the legendary rapper's insightful musings, Kanye opened up about his personal life in a way he never has before.

The Ye rapper got real about growing up in the black community, living with bipolar disorder, and being in the spotlight with controversial political views.

“People said it wouldn’t work out,” he told Jimmy. Each time he proposed another avenue of business, whether it was music, rapping, or clothes design he faced constant adversity.

Two years ago, Kanye was hospitalized for a ‘psychiatric emergency’ after unstable behaviour during his world tour.

According to The New York Times, just before he left the stage, he declared his support for President Donald Trump, saying he wanted to “give y’all the truth.”

On Thursday’s talk show, Kanye talked about his struggle during his recovery since the incident and the backlash he received for his political statement.

After his hospitalisation, he revealed: ‘I had lost my confidence’.

“Everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me.” He was told that if he voiced his support for Trump, he’d ‘get kicked out of the black community’.

“And it took me a year and a half to have the confidence to stand up and put on the hat. No matter what the consequences were.

“People need to be able to express themselves without fear or judgement,” he urged.

He wanted everyone to know that he could not be bullied into changing his opinion.

Kanye explained that he was no stranger to this type of bullying. His upbringing was full of obstacles as an African-American artist dealing with mental health issues.

When he was a child, Kanye was never able to access proper medication for his bipolar disorder.

“I think it's important for us to have open conversations about mental health—especially with me being black.

“Because we never had therapists in the black community. We never approached taking a medication.”

However, the rapper made it clear that he was happy to grow up without being medicated.

“I think it's good that when I had my first complete blackout at age 5, my mom didn't fully medicate me. Because I might have never been Ye.

“And there's times where at least I'm happy that I know [I'm bipolar.]”

For Kanye, the past two years have been about ‘overcoming fear’ with the help of his family.

He is continuing to gain his self-confidence back while dealing with bipolar disorder and public scrutiny on a daily basis.

We hope Kanye continues to keep his recovered confidence and encourage those struggling with mental health issues to build a supportive community around them.

If you're headed to the airport, you may want to look away now.

Ryanair pilots in Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands are staging a 24-hour strike over pay and conditions.

The industrial action taken by the five European countries has been described as the largest walkout for the airline.

Consequently, around 15 percent of Ryanair's flight schedule has experienced disruptions.

Ryanair said they were forced to cancel 250 flights to and from Germany, on Friday, August 10.

However, there is good news for those flying in and out of the Netherlands.

The low-cost airline said their schedule for August 10 will operate as normal.

In a morning tweet update, the airline stated that 2,000 flights will take off and will carry almost 400,000 passengers today.

AFP is reporting that a total of around 400 flights have been cancelled throughout Europe.

This means an estimated 55,000 passengers will be impacted, according to the news agency.

Understandably, passengers who are bearing the brunt of the cancellations have expressed their grievances on Twitter.

One user wrote: "Hi Ryanair my flight from Rome Ciampino to London Stansted has been cancelled. There's no information and no staff to be seen at the airport. I'm stuck at the gate. Some information (food and compensation) would be great!"

Another Twitter account posted a video of a number of people awaiting delayed luggage in the early hours of the morning.

The user tweeted "Can you explain [to] all of us (people from seven different flights) why, after a two hour plus delay, we have been waiting for another hour and a half for our luggage? At 2 am? Are you serious?"

Ryanair have been attempting to manage pilot strikes throughout Europe since early July.

The airline has requested striking unions to "continue negotiations."

We hope if you're flying with Ryanair, you get to go on your holibobs.

A good cocktail and some sunshine will soon make you forget your travel stress.

If you're one of the unlucky ones – enjoy your wine, angry tweets and a good cry.

The final festival of the summer is looming, and like most of the attendees, we're already trying to plan what we want to wear.

However, that planning process is pretty difficult when we have no idea what kind of weather we can expect from the weekend.

Luckily, the first forecasts are out, and we're hoping they improve as we get closer to Electric Picnic.

A post shared by Electric Picnic (@epfestival) on

According to Accuweather, the outlook isn't so sunny for the upcoming festival.

On the Friday, revellers descending on Stradbally can expect 'considerable cloudiness' with a 25% chance of rain.

On Saturday, when Massive Attack headlines, it's likely to rain, with a 55% chance of the heavens opening above the campsites.

A post shared by Electric Picnic (@epfestival) on

On a potentially muddy Sunday, the rain should clear, with highs of 18 degrees celcius and a mere 25% chance of rain.

All three night spent in tents will feel lows of 10 degrees celcius, so bring a blanket, a hoody and some fluffy socks for sleeping in.

Moral of the story? Pack a poncho, just in case.

Women are inspiring on and behind the camera. Here’s a list of TV shows that focus on the ‘F’ word – feminism.

These series contain talented, diligent women who are creating and defining the heroines we can’t wait to binge watch, all while creating the way for women of the future.

Sex and the City

Sex and the City was the first TV show to introduce the ‘career woman’.

It was released in 1998 and it showed professional women on screen looking for love as well as wanting a successful career on their own terms, without sacrificing their femininity. The powerful female drama aired on HBO which was originally a male-dominated channel.

Sex and the City was a risk, and it was the beginning of something fresh – before then, there were few female-led series in existence.

It secured a loyal audience of 7.5 million in the US proving that audiences wanted relatable female stories such as inequality in the workplace. The six season series shone a spotlight on single women, without making them look desperate or needy.

This was the first time we had really seen women take ownership of their sexuality on TV as it was a taboo topic. The series showed men that women do talk about the dirty deed, and don’t necessarily lie back and think of England.

Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies has spectacular scenery and great fashion but it also has horrendous scenes of domestic violence. It was intended to air for just a limited run, but HBO commissioned a second series – starring none other than the brilliant Meryl Streep.

It features powerful performances from its leading ladies Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley but it also tackles abusive relationships, sexual assault and motherhood in a refreshingly unique way.

Witherspoon and Kidman’s heartfelt Emmys speeches tells us there’s still a long way to go in getting female dramas up and running. Kidman opened up about why it was so important for her to be on the show “As an actress, we can read something and feel it, and in this case I could feel probably all of the women, which is a great thing…there was an enormous amount of protection and love for these characters from us as women.

'It was lovely being in their skin for a period of time, just because of the complexity of them and their truth.” This show strips these mothers back to their core to show us that they are nothing if not imperfect and complicated.

At first we see women rushing their children to school wearing high heels and driving fancy black cars. The closer we look we can see the cracks beginning to form: stories of human frailty, hidden insecurities, desire and distress.

It’s different. It takes the stories we are familiar with being told – adultery, betrayal, cattiness, dishonesty and deceit – and presents us with something new: real women, fighting real battles.

The Crown

The Crown is a story about the triumph of female strength in a world powered by men. It follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the 20th century.

In this series, we see a queen who not only takes her role seriously, but is also determined to be taken seriously. She is disappointed that her parents did not think it fit to provide her with a more robust education because of her gender.

Conscious that her lack of education is a weakness, Elizabeth enlists a tutor so she can feel more confident when talking to politicians and public figures.

In the show's first episode we witness the then-Princess Elizabeth promising to "obey" her husband during her wedding vows; an inclusion Churchill says she insisted upon. She clashed with her husband Philip in the early years of his reign as he struggles with feelings of emasculation due to the power held by his wife. Once she becomes Queen, the promise to obey becomes increasingly difficult to keep.

The aim to keep her husband happy soon becomes impossible to achieve because of the demands of her role and the royal protocols she must adhere to. The Crown co-stars, Claire Foy and Matt Smith, were not paid equally. Smith’s portrayal of a young Duke Of Edinburgh earned him more than Foy’s Golden Globe-winning performance as Queen Elizabeth in the Netflix show.

Producers later apologised and Foy was reportedly set to receive back pay.

Grey's Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy deals with many topical issues, especially those relating to females. It focuses on different ages, races, sexual orientations, and economic backgrounds of both the doctors and patients. It shows that women can hold positions of leadership and it repeatedly raises the issue of how unequal the demands on women and men are.

Relationships between women are also treated as something normal and it deals with everyday discrimination that same-sex couples face. It also consistently addresses what it's like to be a mother, including all aspects of motherhood and there's also a place for disabled women in the series.

The 14 season series reinforces that brains are more important than good looks and it also reinforces that it can sometimes be empowering to use your own body for your own purposes. When Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) is called "Dr. Model" because she used photos of her body to help pay for medical school, she embraces it.

Viewers can see that empowering women who are consistently portrayed as "tough" also need help sometimes and it’s okay to ask for it, but that doesn't mean they have to lose their independence too. Women support women in this significant series and the best relationships are the friendships made between women.

Creator, head writer, and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes is one of the most powerful and successful forces in television today. She helped star Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) get incentivised as she was earning less than her male co-stars. The bold move was successful and it empowered Pompeo and other females to fight for equality.

Image result for greys anatomy tumblr

The Bold Type

The Bold Type’s viewers are drawn to the empowering but messy stories the series explores, which includes learning to become comfortable with your sexuality and racial identity, and finding the courage to fight for the career you want, even if it means taking risks.

This fresh new TV series is about three women who navigate the modern world of journalism and publishing. The show deals with topics such as infertility and gun control. The women of The Bold Type fail in life, but this shows them receiving the room to explore this failure and understand that hardships aren't necessarily tragedies.

The optimistic and realistic thing about the show, is that we' see that it's okay to be imperfect. And they feel empowerment and security knowing their best friends will be by their side no matter what.

The Bold Type provides positive examples of women refusing to be held back by fear. It has genuinely good characters who happen to find themselves in interesting circumstances – there are no bad people or villains on this show.

The stories make us feel empowered and inspired, it's comforting and optimistic and it’s what people need right now.

Styling Your Diamond Jewellery This Summer

This year has been a wild one. However, summer is in full swing and there’s still a chance to make the most of the long sunny days we have until Autumn arrives. More importantly, there’s a chance to give your diamond jewellery some wear after being tucked away for so long. Here’s how to expertly style your diamond jewellery this summer.

Styling for Daily Wear

It can be a real challenge to style diamond jewellery for daily wear. Our styles change so dramatically from day-to-day or even day-to-night, so finding the right jewellery combination takes some practice. That said, there are a few diamond jewellery pieces that are versatile, look great with any outfit, and are a part of many jewellery collections. Here are the best diamond jewellery pieces for daily wear.

Stud Earrings: Stud earrings might be small, but they are mighty! Diamond earrings have a shine and brilliance that makes them perfect for everyday wear.

Pendant Necklace: A subtle necklace can add a touch of sophistication and elegance to any outfit. Choose a thin, dainty chain and pair it with a stone that sits just at your suprasternal notch for the perfect look.

Styling for a Night Out

Nights out on the town are for one thing and one thing only — FUN! Your style and jewellery should match that energy with pieces that have a bit of flare. If you’re heading out for a night of drinks and dancing sometime soon, be sure that you wear these pieces.

Dangle Earrings: Diamond dangle earrings are an excellent match for the movement of a night out. Whatever the activity, your diamond earrings will sparkle with every movement as they catch the light with each turn of your head.

Tennis Bracelet: Another great piece for nights filled with movement. The wrist doesn’t usually get a lot of attention, but a diamond tennis bracelet will certainly be a statement piece at any event you choose to wear it.

Styling for a Wedding Guest

Weddings are the time for the bride and groom to shine, so it’s essential for your jewellery pieces to be understated rather than overstated. Unfortunately, it can be a hard line to toe. The following diamond jewellery pieces are a safe, yet beautiful option for any wedding guest.

Diamond Hoops: Subtle and glamorous, diamond hoop earrings are a great complement to any wedding guest outfit.

Eternity Band: An eternity band is just the perfect piece of diamond jewellery to make a statement without overshadowing the wedding party.

Styling for Your Wedding

First off — congrats on your marriage to the love of your life! All wedding details are important, but the jewellery you wear that day will be recorded in wedding pictures, so it’s essential to get it right! Here are the top jewellery pieces for brides on their wedding day.

Stud Earrings: Diamond stud earrings ensure that the attention is on your face during your big day. Choose a set of studs that match your bridal set and any other jewellery you wear that day.

Bridal Set: Your bridal set is made up of your engagement ring and a matching wedding ring. As these rings are unique to each bride, your bridal set should complement your personal style.

Diamond jewellery doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions. Summer is the best time to wear your diamond pieces, as the sun will provide ample light for your diamonds to show off their brilliance. Play around with the metal, setting, shape, and cut of diamond jewellery pieces to find the pieces that best suit your style.

At a time when Instagram has set up some very unrealistic lifestyle and body expectations, it#s refreshing to hear a strong female role model speak out against social media comparisons and body positivity.

Irish beauty Roz Purcell has taken to her page to share with her 225,000 followers her thoughts on feeling insecure in an online world.

After sharing on her Instagram story that she was moving past feeling insecure about stretch marks and cellulite, Roz shared more of her personal insights into body positivity and breaking away from the virtual world to focus on the real one.

A post shared by ROZ PURCELL (@rozannapurcell) on

'I know I went on a little rant about social media yesterday and I think all of you agreed that sometimes you end up putting down your phone feeling shit about yourself.'

'It happens all of us and it’s so important that if that happens you take time to tell yourself that you are worth more & comparing yourself to someone from little tiny snippets of their life isn’t realistic.'

'Social media is great in a lot of ways and we need to remember why it started to be social with people – of course people are mostly going to post the good stuff that’s going on and you have to remember that.'

A post shared by ROZ PURCELL (@rozannapurcell) on

Roz outlined how she makes mindful time in her day without social media.

'I set this challenge over on stories this morning and it’s something I do 1-2 times a week. I have to reach somewhere before I check any social channels…before I click on Instagram,' she said.

'It lets me decide how I start my day rather than going on social straight away and seeing posts that might or might not end up making me feel crap.Take that time for you and stop to rub all the dogs you pass.'

'For a lot of us our insecurities are based on what others might think of them – ***k that no one gives a shit and if they do “its cliche” but it really is their problem. We can get really caught up in our flaws.'

Highlighting her own insecurities, the model explained that she has spend years hating parts of her own body, before realising that acceptance of our bodies is a key component to health and wellbeing.

A post shared by ROZ PURCELL (@rozannapurcell) on

'I’ve spent years hating parts of me – which sounds silly cause it’s part of me and it’s not going anywhere so you have to stop and learn to love them,' she wrote.

'I remember I used to moan about my legs all the time being bigger than my sisters until my mum said- you need to stop and think of the positives sure aren’t they great legs for cycling and I was like yeahhhh you’re right they are.'

We'll be taking a tip from Roz and ditching our data usage before 9am .

We all know that shift work can have a negative impact on some ones social life, but the working lifestyle could also have an impact on male sexual health.

Shift work and its associated sleep disorders may actually significantly impact a man's sexual and urologic health, researchers from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston have found.

According to MedPage Today, non-standard shift workers were more likely to have lower urinary tract symptoms including prostate issues.

'Non-standard shifts have been shown to be associated with increased risk of hypogonadal symptoms and sexual dysfunction,' said Will Kirby, MD.

The issues associated with the shift work also included lower levels of sperm density, motile sperm count, and testosterone levels, which could lead to a lower sex drive and lead to difficulties having children.

The study included 2,487 men who completed questionnaires that assessed their work schedules.

Of the shift-working men, 37 per cent had these issues, along with excessive daytime sleepiness and difficulty sleeping, the authors said in a presentation at the American Urological Association annual meeting.

'That was a surprising finding for us,' said Will Kirby, MD.

'We believed the total motile count would decrease with less sleep.'
