The Lizzie McGuire Movie was arguably one of the most defining of our generation.

From Gordo and Ethan's unlikely kinship to Lizzie's stellar on-stage moment, we we're all empowered by the film's central message of friendship over love interests, despite how appealing they may seem.

Hilary Duff sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss her thoughts on the movie, and divulge some of her favourite memories from it 15 years on.

Originally coming out in 2003, the film follows Lizzie and her school friends (and enemies) on a trip to Rome.

Queue Vespas, throwing coins into fountains and falling in love with half of Rome's most popular singing duo.

Understandably, Lizze most enjoyed one of the films iconic montages – showing her dressed up in crazy couture creations.

'It was really fun to be on the catwalk, and change clothes a bunch of times, and be in a bubble-wrap dress,' she told THR.

Prepare for some serious nostalgia:

In news that's disappointing but unfortunately not all that surprising, a study has found that in mainstream publishing, books by female authors are, on average, priced 45 percent lower than those by men.

The PLOS-published paper analysed over two million book titles published in North America from 2002 to 2012, and looked gender discrimination within both indie and traditional publishing.

The authors, mathematician Adam Kapelner and sociologist Dana Beth Weinberg of Queens College-CUNY, observed that genres dominated by women were valued less by publishers.

For example, more women write in the romance genre than men, and these books tend to be priced lower than genres with mostly male authors.

As well, even within genres the team found inequality. Women's books were priced 9 percent lower within genres in traditional publishing. Self-published books by women were priced 4 percent lower than self-published titles by male authors.

“Without the publishers, we see slightly less discrimination, but it’s still apparent, and it follows the same patterns,” Weinberg told The Guardian.

“The easy answer would be that publishing companies are sexist, but the indie findings challenge that simple explanation. The findings point to the strength of shared social contexts."

Weinberg explained that self-published authors probably harbour some of the same 'unconscious biases' as traditional publishers regarding what genres are suitable for authors of either gender, and the value assigned to these genres.

These indie authors could be 'mimicking what they see in the traditional publishing world' as far as pricing goes, Weinberg noted.

"In addition, both traditional publishers and indie authors are creating and reacting to markets for their work, or to their perceptions of those markets, and placing and pricing their titles accordingly," she said.

While the study's findings are disheartening, we hope they lead to positive change in the publishing world.

Female authors deserve to have their work properly valued.

Yesterday, Kanye West came under fire after it was alleged that he plagiarised a sketch for his line Yeezy from a  former Nike designer.

On April 30th, Kanye published the sketch in a tweet saying “This is where a YEEZY study for base layer starts, I’m so excited about out new design team.'

'Yeezy is no longer a fashion company we should be referred to as apparel or clothing or simple YEEZY.”

A post shared by Diet Prada (@diet_prada) on

However, it was quickly pointed out that the sketch was in fact from Tony Spackman, design director at Givenchy and ex-designer at Nike.

Diet Prada also noted that Spackman's signature appeared to be photoshopped out of the  image Kanye uploaded.

Kanye has responded to the call out in a couple of Tweeets posted on his profile last night.

Taking to the social media platform, he said that he was unaware that the sketch was not an original piece of work.,

He told his following that the sketch had come from a newly-hired Yeezy designer, and that that designer has  been let go for passing of Spackman's work as their own.

He then gave proper credit to the original artist.

So it looks like it was a case of deception after all, just not by Kanye himself.

Brunching is one of the weekends most sacred rituals, but choosing the perfect location to dine on eggs benedict and avocado can be pretty difficult.

If you're opting for brunch in Dublin this weekend, the only place for it is Two Boys Brew.

This divine little place is nestled on the main street in Phibsborough, and while it may not seat the masses, its amazing menu, coffee and service attracts them.

We're massive fans of the shop, which does some of the best coffee in Dublin.

That fact, coupled with the menus subtle twists on classic foods and Berlin-esque interiors makes this cafe a mecca for brunch-seekers.

Two Boys Brew does an all day brunch, so even if you're not quite ready to drag yourself out of bed, the best meal of the day is served until 4pm.

A post shared by Ali Dunworth (@alidunworth) on

We totally recommend the Brew Boys Benedict, which replaces the classic muffin accompaniment to the Hollandaise-doused dish with a potato hash brown, alongside slow cooked pulled beef, perfectly poached eggs and a bed of garlic sauteed kale.

The blueberry and ricotta hotcake is the ideal dish for a sweet tooth, balanced perfectly with a hint of lime curd.

But don't take our word for it, the cafe is open from 7.30am to 4pm.

There's no denying that we all go a bit mad when the sun is in the sky.

Our spirits are lifted, our guards are down and it's suddenly acceptable to sit in a beer garden from 12 in the afternoon.

But it seems the sun may have another effect on us ladies, and well, it looks like we're in for a good time this season.

A new survey has revealed that women are more sexually active during the months June, July and August.

The Eve app analysed data from 1.27 million users and found that the majority of women reported a 12 per cent increase in sexual activity during the summer months.

Users of the app are asked to report their daily health, which includes information about their sex lives.

Figures showed that women reported having sex 41.5 per cent of the time in the summer months, 38.8 per cent of the time in the autumn months, 36.8 per cent in winter and 35.8 per cent in spring.

What's more, during the summer months, most women also reported an increase in the amount of orgasms they experienced and more described the sex they were having as 'mind-blowing' rather than 'pretty good' or 'eh'.

So, what makes us so sexual in the summer?

Well, a user poll revealed that woman want more sex in the summer because they're 'feeling tan and fab' and because they're spending a lot more time 'half naked'.

However, all this summer sex does comes with a consequence.

According to Marie Claire, unprotected sex is at an all time high during June, July and August leading to an increase in young women who test positive for STI's come autumn.

Music festivals are truly hallmarks of an excellent summer.

While the likes of Forbidden Fruit, Longitude and Electric Picnic are beyond epic, sometimes our sense of adventure takes us further a field to quench our musical thirst.

There has been a huge trend in Ireland for young people to book flights abroad to attend international music festivals. While many of the basic tips remain the same, there are a few extra essentials to consider when going abroad for a camping extravaganza.

Whether it's Lollapalooza, Creamfields or Mad Cool, here are a few things you may not have considered.

European Health insurance

Sorry to be a party pooper, but it's really important to get yourself some cover when going abroad.

After all, accidents happen when you least expect them.

Try applying for a European Health Insurance Card just in case you fall ill or hurt yourself while raving in a field over yonder.

The European Health Insurance Card allows the holder to access health care services when travelling to or on holiday in another EU or EEA country.

You can also download the free EHIC App to help you contact health services in the country you are visiting for quick assistance.

Phone insurance

We're all partial to losing things from time to time, but it's so much easier when abroad, and especially easy at a festival.

Even if you never lose things, being away from a normal routine with only temporary places for things, your precious gadgets could easily go astray.

If you've been meaning to get insurance ever since you bought that new iPhone, before heading abroad is the time to do it.

Bear in mind that some insurance companies insist that you be signed up to them for a full month before providing cover, so make sure you have this one ticked off the list in advance.

The Cloud

In accordance with the above tip, make sure your Cloud storage is up to date before heading abroad.

One of the worst things about losing a phone while on a trip is all of the amazing memories you lose in your Camera Roll (well, that and the expensive inconvenience of repurchasing a phone) so make sure you have extra Cloud Storage to preserve your precious memories.

Weather packing

It can be easy to think 'ah, it will never rain while I'm away' when heading to a festival in a country with a reputation for hot summers.

Don't be fooled by the forecast, always pack for every extreme of weather possible.

Even if you just bring one rain poncho to go over your denim shorts and crop top, you'll be damn grateful if you end up needing it. Even if it doesn't rain, you can use it to sit on.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, a rain poncho and one cardigan in case it gets cold at night, and you should be sorted.

Tent distinction

If you're heading to an international festival for the first time, you might not be ready for the sheer scale of the events.

Acres of tents covering unfamiliar terrain may leave you scratching your head when you return to the campsites, and getting lost in a sea of tents in never fun.

Something as simple as draping an Irish flag across the side of your tent, or arranging your tents in a circle if you are wih multiple freinds, can make finding your way back to bed much easier.

In early April, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum announced they were separating after nearly nine years of marriage. While the news was devastating, the couple is parting on good terms.

"We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly," the pair wrote in a joint statement, referencing their four-year-old daughter.

Now Jenna has opened up about the first time she met her ex, on the set of Step Up in 2005.

A post shared by Channing Tatum (@channingtatum) on

“We started out as friends, and I would say it was an instant recognition,” the 37-year-old recalled in a recent interview with Vegas Magazine.

The mum-of-one described just how strong their connection was:

“When we met it felt like we had known each other for many years," she reflected.

Channing has also spoken in the past about when they first met in 2005, and said that he knew that Jenna was someone special.

"I had just gotten out of a pretty long relationship, so I was in no way ready for another. I was trying to run from what I knew Jenna was—not someone I was just going to date," he revealed to Elle in 2013

A post shared by Jenna Dewan (@jennadewan) on

"But one of my buddies was like, 'What are you doing, man? She's dope.' That night I showed up at her hotel room with a sombrero on, and that was it."

Those sombrero days may be over, but Jenna described how because they began as friends, they will always be close, even now that they are separated.

"Ultimately, no matter what Chan and I are doing, we’re really great friends," the dancer said, "I think that will never change, no matter what.”

Up to 80% of a person’s annual UV exposure happens in day to day life, rather than on holidays, and with up to 22 degrees promised this weekend, it's time to consider your sun care.

So literally keep it in the handbag and take it out as you need.

Plastic waste has been getting the attention it merits recently – with straws, bags and q-tips all coming under fire for their detrimental environmental impact.

However, there is one other form of plastic that no one seems to think about, yet it ends up coating the countryside during festival season.

Yes my sparkly friends, we're talking about glitter.

While it may seem like an edgy addition to nay festival ensemble, glitter actually doesn't break down thanks to the fact that it is, essentially, just tiny shards of iridescent plastic.

It is considered to be a microplastic – making it very harmful to animals and fish if ingested.

The UK’s 35 Year Environmental Plan has banned single-use plastics from the country, and glitter falls under that category.

Festivals have been signing up en-masse to get rid of their plastic waster footprint, with over 60 independent music fests pledging their name to the cause.
