As the generation who grew up with a camera embedded in every portable electronic device, it's no wonder we're so snap happy.

Whether it's a hot-dogs-or-legs snap by the holiday poolside, a candid of you and the gals necking cocktails, or that slightly blurry picture of a cute dog you saw while at a red light, we're constantly capturing the moment with our phones, Polaroid cameras and DSLRs.

One place we cant help but share these images is social media, and this may not be a bad thing.

One study suggests that taking a photo and posting it on social media every day is great for your wellbeing.

The team looked at the impact this had on people and found that interacting with fellow users and capturing the moment had a positive impact on the participants’ mood.

This might seem counter productive if you factor in the pressure to get likes and comments, but for people who can put that aside and just admire their digital photo album, there are benefits to reap.

Many participants admitted that they love looking back at the moments they’ve captured, especially if they’re feeling down.

It can't hurt to remember the good time during phases of sadness, and they can serve as a realistic reminder that positivity could be just around the corner.

We're thinking of making an album of all out favourite pictures on our phones right now…

The future seems decidedly mechanical when it comes to the bedroom – and we don't mean a perfunctory human performance.

There has been a lot of hype and discussion lately surrounding the concept of sex robots – with both male and female robot prototypes already on the market.

The introduction of sex robots into the masturbation matrix seemed like a distant concept, but according to research, it might not be.

A study conducted by Forktip peering into the intimate sex lives of 5,000 individuals, and sex robots weren't off the discussion list.

71.3% of men polled would consider ditching their partners in favour of a sex robot if the robot performed better sexually.

The same was true for 49.6% of women, who would also trade their partners for a robot if the sex was more satisfying.

Harvard University professor Dr Cathy O’Neil believes it is 'entirely possible that robots can outperform' men.

'If our sexual needs can be met by intimate automated helpers, maybe we’ll end up stronger as a community.'

We're not so sure.. what do you think?

Many teachers go above and beyond for the students- but this teachers dedication is next level.

When Tanya Thomas, an elementary school teacher in Ohio, found out that one of her students was sick she decided that she would stop at nothing to help her.

That student was Eva Brown, and while she wasn't in Thomas' class, she found out about her rare kidney disease through Facebook.

Eva has collapsing FSGS, and needed a kidney transplant. Unfortunately, she has a rare O blood type.

Thomas, having a suspicion that she had the same blood type, got checked out- she was a match.

"There was really no question and no hesitation. I felt like it was my opportunity to say we’re going to give this a try and if it doesn't work I have to be okay with that,” she told local media.

“I kind of just have that feeling of hey I've got two, I'll give one. No sweat off my back."

Thomas met with Eva nad her mother Alana, to tell the the good news.

“I thought I was going to lose my baby and now I can watch her grow up," mum Alana gushed. "I can watch her play. I can see her go to prom, and get married one day, and I look forward to seeing the woman she's going to be and that's because of Tanya Thomas.”

Principle Micca Conley said that she was proud of Thomas' decision, who is extremely dedicated to her students.

"We are mums first and teachers second and she has taken that expectation obviously to the next level,” she said.

Through fundraising pages and speaking out, the women hope to raise awareness for organ donation.

The transplant is scheduled for June 2018.

Prince Philip's attendance at the royal wedding has been up in the air ever since the 96-year-old underwent a planned hip operation in early April.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said that the Duke of Edinburgh was 'in good spirits' following the surgery, according to the Guardian. He was discharged after 11 days in hospital.

Last week, the 96-year-old was seen in public for the first time since the surgery. Town & Country reports he was photographed in a car at the 75th annual Royal Windsor Horse Show.

This latest appearance sparked hopes that the Queen's husband would be able to make it to the ceremony. Now Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Philip will see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot, according to People

We're sure Harry is ecstatic that his grandfather can make it to the big day!

At first, it seemed that the father-of-four may have to miss out on the ceremony, with a Kensington Palace spokesperson telling the Mirror recently that they wouldn't know if he was well enough until 'closer to the time'.

It's good to hear Philip has recovered enough from the surgery to enjoy the festivities.

Health issues have certainly taken their toll when it comes to the attendance of close family members.

Thomas Markle, Meghan's father, will not make it to the royal wedding because of his own health.

The 73-year-old told TMZ that he was going to have open heart surgery on May 16, preventing him from making it to the ceremony.

"Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health," Meghan said in a statement released by Kensington Palace.

We wish Thomas a speedy recovery.

So summer is here, and the holidays are on the horizon.

Whether you're going to Spain, Mexico, or Cork, you will need an SPF to prevent burning (and ageing, am I right?)

Anyway, as you all know, usually buying sunscreens is expensive.

I actually underestimate the cost of getting a few bottles of cream and an aftersun.

That was, until the fabulous humans at Penneys launched their fab range of sun care – which features everything from hair pil, to aftersun.

Seriously, everything you could possibly need to the summer months is on a shiny shelf in Penneys.

You are WELCOME.

PS… Hair and Scalp Spray, SPF 30, €4.

PS… Sun Protect Oil Spray, SPF 10, €4.

The tender age of just 19, Molly Keane is already an accomplished internationally-known photographer.

The Donegal native was sitting studying for her leaving cert when she got a call that would set her career in motion. She was one of 12 contestants selected for the Sky Arts Master of Photography competition.

"When I applied I thought I didn't have a hope. To be picked out of 10,000 entries from across Europe was amazing. I moved to Rome to take part, it was a bit mad- I even missed my mocks!

“It was an absolutely amazing experience.”

Thanks to the publicity and recognition from the competition, Molly was able to move to Dublin last summer to begin her career as a professional photographer. She now works with portraits, live music and conceptual photos.

As a young Irish woman, it was inevitable that she would get involved with the campaign to repeal the Eighth.

“I’ve always been pro-choice. It might not be for me personally but I would never take that choice away from another woman.  Having children is a personal choice, and not one that I’d ever make for another woman. The eighth amendment makes getting help during crises pregnancies a lot hard than it needs to be.”

Using her photography skills to encourage "difficult conversations", she gathered inspiration from the well-know photo-blog, Humans of New York.

“I’ve always loved the idea of Humans of New York. Putting faces and words to big issues really personalises them. I wanted to do my bit with photography and social media to promote the Yes vote.”

As part of the series, Molly has photographed an "eclectic" mix of people, from men, to grandparents, to young mothers and people with disabilities. She also snapped big-name Irish celebrities such as Jack Gleeson, director Lenny Abrahamson and musicians May Kay from Le Galaxie and Faye O'Rourke of Little Green Cars.

“There are so many different reasons to vote yes. That’s why I made a specific effort to photograph people from all different ages and genders. No two women are the same, and neither are their reasons for wanting repeal.”

But perhaps the most compelling portrait she's captured was her first, of her own mother.

“When the repeal debate first started, mum wasn't really sure about repealing. After lots and lots of difficult conversations I could start to see where she was coming from. She had never experienced a crises pregnancy; myself and my brothers had been planned and wanted. She never had any difficulties during pregnancy that so many women have. She realised that she came from a privileged position. Eventually we came to a level of understanding, she’s the first portrait I captured for the series.”

In the run up to the most divisive vote in Ireland's recent history, it can be all too easy to forget the real people affected by the eighth amendment. Molly's fabulous portraits remind us to humanise the debate. Take a look at some of our favourites here:

"Although personally, abortion is never something I would choose for myself, I am very pro-choice because I understand that even if you are against abortion, it’s going to happen. Anyone with half a brain can see the impact it has on women; the awful effect the 8th amendment has and the trauma and shame it creates in this country"- Elena

"The 8th should never have been put in our constitution. It makes Irish women less safe and less free, and blocks progress towards laws based on rationality and compassion rather than superstition and the impulse to control"- Lenny Abrahamson. Director of Room, Frank, What Richard Did and Garage

‘It’s often assumed that disabled people are inherently anti-choice. People with disabilities are being used as an argument against repealing the 8th. I’m pro-choice because people should have the freedom to make their own decision. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done as far as respecting people with intellectual and physical disabilities, and I don’t see the anti-choice side offering any of that. Young girls with intellectual disabilities who have been abused can’t access abortions here and have been forced to carry a child to term. I do think that there’s a lack of respect towards people with disabilities from the pro-life side. We’re being used as props in this referendum. People need proper access to reproductive health around their disability. At the end of the day, it’s sick, poor and disabled women who suffer most under the 8th. The most sensible thing to do is to trust women, because there are so many complicated issues when it comes to healthcare. It’s a doctors job to help people and save peoples lives but the 8th amendment handcuffs them. The burden of the 8th falls on marginalised people, including women with disabilities often. I really hope that Ireland stands up and votes for Repeal, it’s long overdue.’ (HUMANS OF REPEAL, Ferdia) #HumansOfRepeal #Together4Yes #TogetherForYes #RepealThe8th #Repealproject #Portrait #YesforRepeal #portraitpage #politics #ireland #dublin #postthepeople #theguardian #tpj #woman #womensrights #feminism #photojournalism #35mm #abortionrights #analog #analoguevibes #trustwomen #REPEAL #HONY #8thref #Documentary #abortionreferendum

Commenting in advance of Culture Date with Dublin 8, Grace McEvoy, Project Manager of Culture Date with Dublin 8, said, “We’ve a jam-packed weekend of family-friendly events ahead of us, from bespoke tours celebrating the literary history of Irish women, walking tours of the grand canal, and historical re-enactments to circus performers, there’ll be something for all the family to enjoy.

"This year, we’ve expanded the programme to include two flagship events – an outdoor concert with local musicians in the historical surroundings of the temple at Goldenbridge Cemetery on Saturday, and a family fun day in the Irish National War Memorial Gardens on Sunday – a fitting event as this year marks 100 years since the end of World War One."

Sounds so interesting lads.

“Culture Date with Dublin 8 is a unique opportunity for those living in, working in and visiting Dublin 8 to explore and celebrate the deep historical, architectural and cultural heritage of the area so we encourage everyone to come along and learn something new about this part of the city. We want to put Kilmainham and Inchicore on the map as attractive visitor destinations for tourists and locals alike, and make the area a culturally renowned area in its own right.”

Culture Date with Dublin 8 will also be participating in National Drawing Day, taking place Saturday 19th May. All venues will be encouraging the public to explore the theme ‘Inspirational Settings in D8’ through the course of the day.

In 2012, Savita Halappanavar died at University Hospital Galway after developing septicaemia from a prolonged miscarriage.

Savita's tragic case has been held as an example of what the 8th Amendment can lead to.

Preceding next week's referendum to repeal the 8th amendment, Savita's father has encouraged voters to choose a yes vote in the ballot box.

A post shared by Ruby Potter (@barrackstreetbeour) on

Andanappa Yalagi told The Irish Times that he feels that Savita died due to being denied an abortion.

'I will watch this vote.'

'I hope the people of Ireland will vote yes for abortion, for the ladies of Ireland and the people of Ireland.'

A post shared by Nadine Walsh (@nadinelwalsh) on

'My daughter, she lost her life because of this abortion law, because of the diagnosis, and she could not have an abortion. She died.'

Savita was 31 years old and 17 weeks pregnant when she passed away.

She requested an abortion, but was denied one as doctors could still detect a foetal heartbeat.

Yesterday, a group of No voters took to the side of the Ben Bulben mountain in county Sligo to erect a political statement on the mountain crag.

The group called Sligo for Life, consisting of men 'of all ages', along with women 'making tea and sandwiches' sought to make a statement about the upcoming referendum.

As the sun rose this morning, locals noticed that the sign had been dismantled.

The lettering had been broken up and scattered rather than being taken down properly.

It is unclear who is officially responsible for the removal of the slogan, however those who put it up say it was 'vandalised.'

Sligo County Council received numerous complaints from the public regarding the statement.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service also called for its removal.

The instalment of the 'NO' lettering also led to public outrage.

Yesterday, a member of the group told OceanFM that the sign was 'a cry from the mountains to save Ireland’s babies because no one is listening.'

He also told the station that 55 million abortions occur in Ireland each year. We have yet to find data to support this claim.

Fans thirsty for a taste of ‘80s nostalgia – or simply craving a cold, ice-cream flavoursome frappe – can rejoice in the news that the Insomnia BRUNCH icecap is back after a short winter hiatus.

We say short winter, but it did feel like it lasted 47 years.

The drink, which debuted in summer 2017, is making a comeback thanks, in part, to an ardent and determined community of brand loyalists who have been lobbying Insomnia stores to bring back the drink this summer!

The coffee company has teamed up with HB ice cream to create the frozen beverage!

The frappe is topped with a sprinkling of the Brunch crumbly biscuit over a smooth vanilla and strawberry blended frappe.

Can you say DELICIOUS?

Brunches not your scene? Weird, but fear not.

Alongside the Brunch icecap will be the Insomnia Oreo icecap, combining the popular cookie, mixed with ice, milk and topped with cream with added Oreo Crumbs. Stun.

There will also be a new drink introduced, the Salted Caramel Latte icecap, which is  is perfect for Insomnia Coffee lovers that enjoy their espresso, but want to savour that summer feeling.

Made from blended frappe it contains a mix of espresso, vanilla, milk and salted caramel syrup, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with caramel sauce.

Also on the summer menu is the range of summer bakery, salads and sandwiches.
