Is anyone else personally offended by the idea of sleeping on the ground during festival season, worried about the state of your tents and the noise of drunken gangs of lads all night?

Well, if you're feeling the diva vibe like we are, you'll be delighted with these Airbnb gems we've found.

After camping at Electric Picnic last year with intensely bad back issues, never again will I twist my spine in such a way. Only a bed will do for my demands.

The properties are near enough to the festivals that you can stroll on in any time of the day or night, but far enough away to get some peace, quiet and good sleep. We're sold, honestly.

Our top music and arts festivals are fast approaching this summer, and hosts on Airbnb are expanding accommodations options beyond camping fields…Thank the Lord.

Putting a roof over your head this festival season has never been so easy. From Waterford, Westmeath, Bundoran's surf town in Donegal, Stradbally or Meath, Airbnb has a host for everyone.

Check out these fabulous homes near the key Irish music festivals; whether it's floating pods, stunning homes or earth houses; round off your summer season with style.

21 – 23 June: Kilrush, Co. Westmeath

Image: Kilrush Marina glamping pods

These adorable floating glamping pods would be ideal to stay in, as they're moored in the sheltered waters of Kilrush Marina along with the boats.

Each pod in this Clare hideaway has an outdoor seating area, a double and single bed, a kitchen and use of Marina Centre facilities like showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, toilets and free parking.

Kilrush town centre is also in close proximity, so you're not too far away from all the fun.

21- 23 June: Bundoran, Co. Donegal (Sea Sessions)

Image: Bundoran home in County Donegal

Bundoran is the ultimate Irish seaside town, and a massively popular surfing area with some of the best waves on the east coast.

Staying on the beach at Sea Sessions can be a tricky one with all that Atlantic wind, trust us. This cool and comfortable coastal home is located in a quiet suburb, but is walking distance away from the town and river.

The house can fit over seven guests, with three bedrooms and an open plan kitchen. The true seaside feel with views of Tullaghan would be a great option, rather than getting blown away in your tent.

19-21 July: Blessington, Co. Wicklow

Image: Blessington house in County Wicklow

Ballymore Eustace is a stunning town in Wicklow, and who wouldn't want such a comfortable home to stay in for a weekend of music, losing your friends in crowds and getting covered in mud?

This modern, comfy house is located on the outskirts of the town, and is the ideal place for exploring the county as well as the festival. It's also near the direct route to Dublin, the 65.

The Angler's Rest can house seven guests easily, with three bedrooms and seven beds. Zero tents: Zero problems.

16-18 August: Killyon Manor, Co. Westmeath

The Cottage in Co. Westmeath

This hidden little gem is located in the picturesque town of Killucan, and the place is just a one minute walk from shops and local pubs, and 15 minutes drive from Mullingar town.

It can house four guests, and has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The private garden would be perfect for festival pre-drinks, and the rooms are all warm, sparkling clean and spacious.

2-4 August: Curraghmore Estate, Co. Waterford

Image: Riverside apartment, Waterford city

Why stay in a tent that's about five seconds from blowing away with a light breeze when you can have a whole apartment?

This airy, spacious apartment on the Waterford river is seriously impressive. Situated in the centre of the city, it's in a great location for all the key tourist sites and shopping areas.

The balcony has some unreal views of the river and boats, and the space itself has a king/twin bedroom and a comfy sofa bed.

Imagine, you have a kitchen, dishwasher, and a shower? For a festival? WOW.

30 August – 1 September: Stradbally, Co. Laois

Image: Earth House in Stradbally

Anyone who has camped at Electric Picnic and lived to tell the tale will tell you that it's a little too close to nature. This earth house allows you to feel relaxed while having a truly eco experience.

Located on two acres of rural bliss near Ballintubbert and Stradbally, it's equipped with underfloor heating, a green roof, Mexican clay tilted floor, three double bedrooms and a beautiful vaulted ceiling.

We're blown away by the round earth house, with the windows running across the south side of the house to provide passive solar heating. A masonry stove will also keep you warm.

The home has two double bedrooms, and the beautiful garden yurt also can also fit two double beds inside, so the place can house a big group of music lovers. Enjoy your back not being sore this year.

The news that A$AP Rocky had been arrested in Sweden had Longitude fans worried for days, and now the news has been confirmed that the US rapper will not headline the festival tonight.

He was set to headline the main stage at the summer festival in Marlay Park but was detained by Swedish authorities in relation to an alleged assault last weekend.

The star was arrested after a gig at the Smash festival in Stockholm on Tuesday, and police are stating that four people were initially arrested.

Three of these people were suspected of serious abuse and one of assault, but the person suspected of assault was released two days ago and is no longer a suspect.

It is rumoured that the altercation began as a result of the men seemingly following A$AP Rocky in the street and of inappropriately touching women.

His replacement on the main stage at Longitude has been announced as rapper Ski Mask The Slump God.

Longitude is also being headlined by Stormzy and Cardi B, with Wild Youth and Anne Marie also performing over the course of the weekend.

Chance the Rapper was also originally a headliner, but cancelled recently to much fan disappointment.

Thousands will attend the festival over the next three days, with the gates opening from 1.30pm.

It's that time of the year again, when Irish people suddenly realise their obsession with rap music and flock down to Marlay Park for a sunny weekend of cans and tunes.

Like every major festival, Longitude has some valuable information regarding safety, rules, entry and transport that you all have to read before making the trek down.

First of all, the gates open at 1:30pm each day, and if you arrive to the event intoxicated then you unfortunately won't be permitted entry this weekend.

This year is set to be bigger than ever, with none other than Chance the Rapper, Cardi B and A$AP Rocky headlining the sold-out festival.

The countdown to one of Ireland's biggest summer festivals is well and truly on, and now Longitude have only gone and given us 22 more glorious acts to see.

They've also entrusted us with the break-up of which days certain artists are playing over the weekend, so we're pretty much ecstatic.

The new acts include; Ave, Bugzy Malone, Fredo, Wild Youth, Little Simz, NOT3S, Headlie One, YBN Cordae, Chasing Abbey, Kneecap, Biig Piig, Grace Carter, Amber Mark, Saweetie, Buddy, Ama Lou, Adekunle Gold, Mallrat, JYELLOWL, Nealo, Why-Axis and Barny Fletcher.

Stage times will be announced over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Unforch, H.E.R. and Clairo cannot perform at Longitude 2019 due to scheduling conflicts. We're gutted, especially about H.E.R., but thank the Lord we have 22 new acts to worship.

The festival will take place in Marlay Park from July 5 until July 7, 2019. There are still some limited tickets left for the full three days, so get on that FAST.

Ireland isn't exactly the hotspot for musical talent to visit during the summer, but recently we've been acquiring some absolutely MAJOR acts from around the world.

Some of us may remember the days of Oxygen (Rest in Pieces), but Electric Picnic has taken over as the biggest and most popular festival in the Irish calendar.

Longitude appears to have become the most 'hip-hop' festival in town overnight, who saw that one coming? All the young ones adore it, hence why artists such as Chance the Rapper, Future and AS$P Rocky are headlining it this year.

Oh, and the queen that is CARDI B (gasp)… this will be us when she emerges on stage like the glorious, ghetto peacock that she is:

ultra music festival dancing GIF

Luckily for you, we've decided to do a round-up of EVERYTHING there is to know of 2019's Irish music festivals.

Strap yourselves in, get your raincoat and wellies ready, it's looking like a muddy ride.

God knows why we all live for summer's music gigs, most of us have had our stuff stolen, our tents destroyed and our dignity abandoned, yet we still come crawling back for more. Must be our dedication to the art, or something?

First up: Castlepalooza: May 3 – May 5 2019

Things have been pretty hush hush this year in Castlepalooza-land. So far, no headline acts have been announced and even the early bird tickets aren't on sale yet.

As far as speculation goes, they normally stick to Irish acts such as AllTvvins and The Rubberbandits, so maybe they'll get Dermot Kennedy or Picture This?

We're assuming it's still taking place in Charleville Castle, Tullamore, but they've changed the dates so who knows. All will be revealed.

Life Festival: May 24 – May 26 2019

For #Life19, some major dance players have been given the green light to DJ, including Giggs, Bicep, MK, Nina Kraviz and CamelPhat. Think District 8 but in the woodlands.

The festival is returning to Belvedere House in County Westmeath for a weekend of phenomenal tunes. There are three days, six stages and a jam-packed line-up.

Chill by the lakeside stage for a more relaxed vibe, or hit the District 8 tent and Main Stage for absolute dance mania.

Vantastival: 31 May – June 2 2019

Known as the last real festival for camper vans and 'legit' music lover families, Vantastival is relatively unknown in some circles but a must-see in others.

Taking place in Drogheda, Co. Louth, the festival boasts comedy shows, craft beer, art installations and a kids' camp for families.

The festival gets some unbelievable talent up to play, and the headline acts this year have already been announced.

King Kong Company, David Keenan, Cry Monster Cry, Just Mustard and I'd Fight Gandhi are all hitting the stages this year, it's gonna be a BIG one for their 10th anniversary.

Forbidden Fruit: June 1 – June 3 2019

Forbidden Fruit has been a steadily growing Irish festival for years, with some well-known as well as emerging talent performing DJ sets in the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Kilmainham.

Headliners this year are Mura Masa (INCREDIBLE), Skepta, Elbow, First Aid Kit and Danny Brown. They're spreading out the genres this year, bringing in some new and more alternative names.

Tickets went on-sale back in December, but there are still a few left. We recommend grabbing them before they're gone.

Body&Soul: June 21 – June 23 2019

The arts festival takes place in Ballinlough, Co. Westmeath, and it's celebrating it's 10th run this year.

Previous headliners include Nick Cave, but they have yet to tease 2019's fixtures.

It's a cesspit for creative minds, branding itself as the biggest 'independent' festival in Ireland. They're announcing the line-up very soon, so stay tuned. We're guessing perhaps Christine and the Queens?

Sea Sessions: June 21- June 23 2019

Sea Sessions is well on the rise. The festival is specifically for surfers, and takes place in Bundoran, Co. Donegal for those sea lovers every year.

They've got a STELLAR line-up for 2019: Sigrid (I cried when I saw her, not gonna lie), Clean Bandit and Two Door Cinema Club are the star acts who will blaze up that stage.

This one looks set to be an incredible year, especially if the weather holds up. Tickets are on sale now, but it sells out every year so get on it ASAP.

Longitude – July 5 – July 7 2019

They've just announced some massive names to the chart: Cardi B and Anne-Marie are two unreal additions.

The festival is running from Friday July 5 until Sunday July 7 in Marlay Park, and always gets some pure stunning weather (for once).

The line-ups have DRASTICALLY changed even since 2017, when Mumford & Sons took centre stage. It's all about those rap stars nowadays, who would have thought Irish people would crave the genre so much? Maybe it's just the young wans.

Tickets are back on sale this Friday, February 1 at 9am. Get ready for online mayhem, as Cardi B is sure to attract thousands of eager fans.

A post shared by CARDIVENOM (@iamcardib) on

All Together Now: August 2 – August 4 2019

The festival takes place in Curraghmore House in County Waterford during the August Bank Holiday, so it's always a sure-fire hit.

American indie band The National are the headliners for this year's take; previous performers include Fleet Foxes, Mura Masa, Villagers and First Aid Kit.

Most of the tickets have already sold-out for this year's festival, but there's always DoneDeal? Camper van tickets are also still available, but not much else except the higher priced ones.

Electric Picnic: August 30 – September 1 2019

So E.P. is ALREADY sold-out, as predicted.

The speculation has begun, seeing as nobody is aware of the line-up as of yet, and we're gonna go ahead and pray that our home-girl ARIANA GRANDE hits the Main Stage. Get your rosary beads out.

Last year saw N.E.R.D, Kendrick Lamar and The Prodigy hit the stage as headliners, and Sigrid and Dua Lipa absolutely smashed it during their performances. We'd love to see those gals return with new albums under their belts.

There you are, gals. The ULTIMATE Irish music festival round-up for 2019…so far. We're tingling with excitement already at the thought of sneaking in all those naggins/cans/wine bottles/shoulders/litres/whatever the kids drink nowadays.

Now all we need is the funds to afford any/all of these amazing gigs. Maybe we could sneak in?

So, Hozier has a bit of a knack for popping up when he least except him.

Last year the Take me to Church singer joined the Trinity Orchestra on stage at Electric Picnic for an epic David Bowie tribute and he pulled a similar stunt during the closing set of Dublin's longitude festival last night.

After a weekend packed with amazing performances from the The Weeknd, Picture This and Stormzy, Mumford and Sons found the perfect way to close the show.

The band invited a a number of Irish artists on stage and from what we can see on Twitter, it was absolutely magical!

Hozier, Jack Garret, Jorja Smith, Kevin Garrett and Lucy Rose were among those to join the British indie rockers for a rendition of the Beatles classic, With a Little Help From my Friends.

Take a look.

Has there ever been a more perfect ending to a festival?

We think not.

Since its launch in 2013, Longitude has grown in popularity with every passing year.

And with increasing numbers every year, it’s unsurprising you might expect bigger queues, longer delays and more intense traffic jams.

However, with the help of an interactive map, you’ll be able to swiftly navigate the crowd!

The Gardai leveraged Esri Ireland’s digital mapping platform to create an interactive map for those attending the festival in Marlay Park this weekend.

It will enable music fans to view traffic flows around Marlay Park and plan their route accordingly to avoid traffic. As well as this, local residents and commuters will be able to use the map to plan their journeys around the event.

The map also highlights some other points of interest, such as on-site first aid stations, the location of lost & found property, car parking and pick-up and drop-off points for both Dublin Bus and the Luas shuttle bus.

With the festival having kicked off some hours ago, Paul Creaner of the GIS Garda Mapping Section offered some words of advice.

“We would encourage people to travel to the event by public transport, which will not only reduce total CO2 emissions, but also help to reduce congestion in the car parks and on the surrounding roads."

"Concert-goers can use this map to find the location of the Dublin Bus pick-up area and the stop for the Luas shuttle bus," he added.

16,500 people are expected to attend the festival each day this year, with performances from Stormzy, The Weeknd and Mumford & Sons.
