Zombies are EVERYWHERE: they're on TV shows and the news; in movies and our nightmares.

And according to new research, if a zombie virus was to become a reality it would only take 100 DAYS for it to spread all over the world…

Yes, scientists have actually developed a complicated formula that – like the movie 28 Days Later – shows how just 100 people would be left by day 100 of an outbreak.

And after six months, the world as we know it would be gone. Finito. Taken over by things that have no doubt made Hollywood MILLIONS.

But, surely the survival instinct would kick in? And just like Rick Grimes and co, we would fight until the end, right?

In fact, it's thanks to shows like The Walking Dead, that we actually are slightly prepared for a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

1. Remember, only shooting them in the head will destroy them

2. Never go off on your own

3. Stay out of the woods, especially at night

4. ARM yourself: guns, crossbows and maybe a samurai sword or two will do

5. A first aid kit WON'T help if you're bitten

6. Never leave a door or window unlocked

7. Form a gang of survivors (but only the strongest will do) – anyone going solo is gonzo

8. Don't get too close – even if you think they are dead…

9. ALWAYS make sure there is petrol in the car

10. Grab supplies – but DON'T go into a supermarket at night

11. Head for the hills – Carrauntoohil will do

12. Find yourself a good 4X4

13. RUN

Homelessness is a serious problem in Dublin, and it's one that many people choose to ignore.

However, the tides are turning, as people have been forced to pay attention to the plight of homeless people sleeping rough on Dublin's frosty streets as guerilla activist group Home Sweet Home battles to maintain control of Apollo House, an empty building which has become a safe haven for the homeless in recent weeks.

One Facebook page, Homeless Awareness, has been raising awareness about Dublin's crisis since 2014, but the creator of the page has just shared his experiences with having a homeless brother, and the tragic circumstances which led to his homeless status.

The post, which has been liked and shared hundreds of times, details the life of Darren, the page's founder, and his brother.

"This is my brother Shane. Shane has been homeless over 10 years battling a drug addiction, we both grew up in a middle class home fostered by a nice family."

"Me and my brother got fostered by a lovely family in Rathmines. I was aged three and my brother was four."

"My brother left at the age of 17 to go live with the Peter McVerry trust over in Ballymun by time he was 18 he was on heroin."

"I didn't know he was on the stuff till a few years later when people would tell me 'I seen your brother in town he didn't look the best he was on drugs!'"

Darren then shares his experiences with becoming homeless himself, after being kicked out of his foster home at age 18.

"When I was 18 got kicked out of my foster home and I was homeless for a few months sleeping on a friends sofa or sometimes in peoples sheds or the streets."

"I was so scared the first time I slept out on the streets of Dublin. It was the longest night ever walking around trying to find somewhere to sleep. It was hard."

Thankfully, he has managed to turn his life around.

He is now in a stable relationship and has two children, all with a roof firmly over their heads.

However, there is a sense of guilt over the fact that he cannot take in his brother.

"Before anyone says why don't you help him, take him in, I have done."

"But he has robbed me and I can't take that risk again of losing my home, but I've always done my best for my brother and any other homeless person out there."

Shane is still homeless and living on the streets but the author admits that he hasn't seen him for many months.

The post is gaining a plethora of sympathy in the comments, as people share their own personal stories of living with a homeless relative.

This isn't the first time a homeless person's personal story has gained national attention.

Three weeks ago, Cinematography student Fionn Kane highlighted the crisis by shooting an emotive video called I'm Still Human, focusing on the hardship faced by James, a homeless man who has been living on the streets for six years.

James reveals the horrific realities of life as a homeless man in Dublin, and tells the camera how he has been assaulted, humiliated and even urinated on while sleeping rough.

A Facebook post involving James also went viral last month after he was asked to leave McDonalds on O'Connell street despite being a paying customer.

Almost 7,000 people are now homeless in Ireland, according to the latest figures from the Department of Housing.

There are few among us who don't know at least one person who would happily get a nose job… if it wasn't for the cost, the pain, and the fear of looking like Michael Jackson, obviously.

A dislike for your schnozz is far from rare, so it's no real surprise that there now exists an invention which helps to alter the shape of an individual's nose without the need for surgery or professional contouring skills.

But, how does it work exactly?

The Nose Lifter, which is made of soft PVC plastic, is inserted into the nostrils to help redefine their shape, but given the fact many people wouldn't tolerate that for more than few hours, the folk behind the invention advise the public to only wear the device for an hour at a time during the first week.

Promoting the product on their Instagram, Racosmeofficial wrote: "Nose Lifter gives an instant, dramatic results and is the world's best selling nose job alternative! It is very safe, easy to use and comfortable to wear."

Choosing photos for your Tinder profile is an absolute minefield.

The name of the game is to share snaps which help illustrate what you're all about, (the edited version, obvs) but according to a recent study, it doesn't matter how flattering your photos are because apparently no one makes passes at girls wearing glasses.

No, seriously.

The study, which was conducted by the uber-popular dating app, established that your chances of finding The One are reduced by a staggering 12% if you're rocking a pair of bifocals in your profile.

Commenting on the results, dating expert Dr Jessica Carbino explained that being able to see the eyes of a potential  partner is paramount  – something which is somewhat hindered if a possible match is wearing specs.

According to Marie Claire, Dr Carbino understands an individual's reluctance to swipe right on a glasses-wearer, saying: "Seeing the iris gives us clues as to whether you can be trusted."

Here, unless they're wearing sunglasses in every picture, that argument does NOT hold up.

OK we all love a good conspiracy theory now and then, but this one is actually TRUE.

According to the director of Disney's Frozen, princesses Anna and Elsa are sisters to TARZAN (mind blown).

Chris Buck spoke to MTV, where he confirmed this theory.

Apparently, Anna and Elsa's parents did not die in the shipwreck they were involved in… they washed up on a jungle island.

The stroy sort of writes itself from here, but anyway… the former King and Queen of Arendelle make a life for themselves on this island.

Ultimately, the couple end up getting killed by a leopard, but not before little Tarzan is born.

Chris admitted that the concept seems outrageous, but insisted that "In my little head, Anna and Elsa’s brother is Tarzan."

We'll take it.

Due to tough trading and the "pressures and unknowns" of the Brexit vote, famed TV chef Jamie Oliver has to close SIX of his restaurants.

Eateries in  Aberdeen, Exeter, Cheltenham, Richmond, Tunbridge Wells and Ludgate Hill will all face closing their doors by March of this year.

Fortunately, Jamie's Italian in Dundrum will remain open.

Chief executive of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, Simon Blagden, said: “As every restaurant owner knows, this is a tough market and post-Brexit the pressures and unknowns have made it even harder.

“These closures are in no way a reflection on the the dedication and commitment of our staff and my first priority is to try and secure those affected alternative jobs. Where this isn’t possible, we’ll be working with them to find alternative employment.”

The closures of his restaurants will mean around 120 employees will be out of work.

“In the UK we will be focusing on our core Jamie’s Italian estate and on the expansion of the Barbecoa brand which will see two new openings in 2017.

“Internationally we plan to launch another 22 Jamie’s Italian restaurants with our current partners and are also looking forward to focusing on running and developing further our newly acquired Australian restaurants.”

Jamie currently has 42 Jamie's Italian restaurants in the UK, and more than 36 in other countries.

Getting the girls together generally means one thing: craic central.

And OK, while we love our brunch dates and nights out, there are times when we just fancy something a little different.

So because we’re sound like that, we’ve compiled a list of ways to re-bond with your girls. And now we want to do EVERYTHING:

1. Plan a trip somewhere different

We all love the Paris (it’s true what they say: it’s never a bad idea), but a brilliant opportunity to bond with your gals is to pick somewhere off the beaten track for your next city break or holibob. So whether it’s a lakeside village in Slovenia, or a little known Finnish city with a population of 473, stick a pin in the map and start your adventure.

2. Volunteer together

Getting involved with an important cause is not only a selfless thing to do, it’s a great way to bond with your besties. And look, it doesn’t have to be a far flung location; there are heaps of charities in your local community that would love you and your pals to get involved – whether it’s giving your time, your skills, or organising a fundraising event.  It’s actually quite fun to sell stuff together for charity e.g. fundraising products such as a Scratch & Help card can actually lead to a bit of craic with your bestie.

3. Set a fitness goal

Whether it’s your very first 5K, or that half-marathon goal you’ve been dying to smash, doing it with your girls will make it more fun. Oh, and cheering each other on / not accepting any lame ‘I’m too tired to train’ excuses means you’ll be much more likely to succeed.

4. Do afternoon tea – but with a difference

It’s fair to see we all are a bit obsessed with afternoon tea, but how about hiking to the top of a mountain and enjoying your jammy scones and bubbles with an unreal view? The Hazel House, in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, is located at the bottom of Tibradden Mountain, so you can get your fizzy afternoon tea packed to bring with you to the top.

5. Go glamping

Glamping is pretty much what is says on the tin – glamorous camping. So you’re basically staying in a luxurious, chic yurt instead of something like that rickety yoke of a caravan in Father Ted. There are heaps of great glamping options all over the country, so get your Joan Collins on and camp in style!

And for more bonding ideas, check out the rest of The Hazel House’s activities, like pizza and wine evenings and girly movie nights. Yay!

We've guzzled down a few G&Ts in our day, but when it comes to making them at home… let's just say we're drinking them more for the buzz and not for the taste.

It's a simple drink, but there's a fine art to combining the perfect flavours. So, to help all of you gin lovers out there, here's all you need to make the tastiest G&T.

The Gin Foundry has come up with a fab chart, or 'gin tasting wheel' which matches various gins with the appropriate mixer.

According to the chart, clean gins go well with cucumber and apple, while herbal gins go well with rosemary or basil.

But the chart does more than just match ingredients, it can also help you to identify the different aromas and improve your tasting vocabulary.

The Gin Foundry website reads: "Most of us have been brought up to understand and recognise colours and shapes by name but most of us have never learnt how to express flavours in words.

"So, with that in mind, Gin Foundry have created this Tasting Wheel in the hopes of helping those in trouble to develop a more educated palate and empower them with ways to articulate it."

Goodbye dry January…

If you thought the unicorn beauty trend was going to be left behind in 2016, you are sorely mistaken.

From unicorn horn handled makeup brushes to unicorn inspired glitter eye shadows, we're not quite ready to give up on the mythical makeup quite yeat.

While most of the unicorn themed pieces we've spotted have been from independent online boutiques, a major player in the fashion and beauty world has just stepped up and revealed yeat another unicorn beauty buy.

A photo posted by Allure Magazine (@allure) on

Christian Louboutin have just launched their Loubichrome set of stiletto nail varnishes, but with the iridescent sheen on the spike heel, it looks more like a unicorn horn than anything else.

The gorgeous spike nail varnish bottles are beautiful enough in themseleves, but the colours within are just as amazing.

The shades include a vibrant violet, summery yellow, and blood orange.

The colours also have a seriously on trend chrome finish.

The limited edition collection isn't available yet, but should retail for around €30 like the rest of the designer nail colours.

While thirty quid is a bit of a splurge for a nail varnish, that unicorn horn handle kind of doubles up as a dressing table decoration, right?

Kim Kardashian has finally made a triumphant return to social media after she was robbed in an armed heist at a luxury apartment in Paris.

Just days after the selfie queen's comeback, top supermodel Naomi Campbell has spoken out to revel that she has also been targeted by thieves in Paris in the past.

Speaking on The Wendy Williams Show yesterday, the catwalk veteran told the audience that she was attacked by an organised crime ring in 2012.

The star said that from the moment she was picked up from the airport, something felt off.

The driver who collected her was acting suspiciously, and kept all of the car windows down for the entire drive despite the freezing November temperatures.

When she arrived at her destination, the Azzedine Alaïa store which doubles up as the designer's home, things got violent.

"They followed me from the airport, they attacked me. They opened my car door and said, ‘Naomi Campbell, we’re going to kill you.’" she told the talk show host.

"I didn’t make it so public. I didn’t want it to be. I think there’s a picture of me in a wheelchair at the time."

Luckily, store workers saw the violent events unfolding and rushed out to help the supermodel.

"In the interim, you decide in a very split moment – I don’t know if I’d ever do this again in hindsight – ‘Am I going to let this guy take my bag with all my passports or am I going to fight for it?," she said.

"My decision was, ‘I am not letting my bag go.’"

"The driver was in on it. It’s a whole ring that’s been happening for a few years now,” she continued.

When asked about Kim Kardashians experiences, the The Face host replied:

"I very much sympathize. I felt for her right away. I hated hearing these stories that it wasn't true. It was absolutely true, and it happened to me and it’s happened to a few other people that I’m not at liberty to say, but are well known also."

The thieves who robbed Kim Kardashian are still at large.
