It's by no-means a brand-new beauty technique. Still, when Kim Kardashian revealed that she relied on contouring to achieve her perfect red-carpet makeup look, just about everyone started similarly highlighting, toning and sculpting.

But while the Kardashian-Jenner clan remain firm-fans of the practice to this day – one makeup mogul strongly disagrees with its popularity.

“When I see contouring on people’s faces it looks like dirt,” Bobbi Brown told the New York Post.

“As a beauty expert, I believe in individual beauty, and it’s just not my aesthetic. We don’t need to be contouring like the Kardashians.”

Instead, the 58-year-old Chicago-native champions a natural, healthy and fresh face: she says we should all be highlighting our natural cheekbones with a creamy rouge, or else a moisturiser that gives a subtle glow.

“The contouring trend is so wrong because it tells women there’s something wrong with their face,” Ms Brown added. “There’s beauty in a full face, so I don’t like to paint in a cheekbone that doesn’t exist.”

That's not all: Bobbi went on to dismiss the big-lip look that Kim's little sister, Kylie Jenner, has made so famous.

“Lip-plumping and fillers never work,” she says. “We’re not all born with Angelina Jolie lips… and whoever said small lips aren’t beautiful?”

Ms Brown suggests lining lips with a soft purplish pencil – like the €22.50 Bobbi Brown lip liner in Bobbi, a shade she designed for herself – for a faint enhancement.

They both stayed silent about the reason for their split at the time, but three years on Laura Whitmore has opened up about the heartbreak of parting ways with Danny O'Reilly.

Laura split from the Coronas frontman in 2012, and says the break-up was a "massive" shift in her life.

The pain of ending a two-year relationship wasn't helped by the fact that the Bray native was in Australia at the time, working on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

"Break-ups are hard but I couldn’t even go out and get drunk with my girlfriends," she recalls. In the end, Laura's mum flew from Ireland to be with her on set.

Although Laura is still keeping tight-lipped about why things went sour wth her ex, she stresses that ending the relationship was the right thing to do.

"We broke up for a reason. I broke up with him for a reason." she tells The Mirror.

"I went through that massive break-up while I was doing live TV on the other side of the world.

"People could write about it, people could guess about it, and at the end of the day I was just a girl who was really hurt."

Back in May, a reconciliation seemed imminent when Laura and Danny were spotted kissing in London's Primrose Hill Park. But while the couple are definitely not an item these days, the presenter says they do remain on good terms.

"I’m actually good friends with Danny, shockingly. I actually got a text from him today.

"So, for me, there’s no bad feeling."

Back in July, the MTV star was pictured on holidays in Ibiza with Sunset Suns rocker Rory Williams, just weeks after being papped kissing him on a London street.

It's unclear whether the pair are still together, but either way Laura says being in the spotlight certainly doesn't help her with new relationships.

"It’s a bit s**t. You could be on a first date and it is awkward, and I’m a girl who is nervous and thinking, ‘Do I like this boy?, and suddenly everyone gets a picture and they write about it.

"You’re mortified because you’ve just met someone. You’re just a girl at the end of the day."

For many coffee junkies, the arrival of the Starbucks red holiday cups heralds the arrival of the festive season – even if they do launch in early November.

Every year the coffee giant introduces a new design for the cups, to go along with winter-themed drinks like Toffee Nut Lattes, Almond Hot Chocolates and Peppermint Mochas.

The 2015 cup design is the company's most minimal one yet, but it's already causing huge controversy online.

Why? Some conservative Christian groups are suggesting that Starbucks' plain red ombré cups – with no stars, Santas or trees in sight – are an attempt to "whitewash" Christmas.

"The Red Cups are now an anti-Christmas symbol," writes journalist Raheem Kasan.

"Subliminally, [customers are] being told/reminded that this time of the year is no longer about Christmas."

Starbucks, on the other hand, says their plain red cups are a "more open way to usher in the holiday."

Some angry Twitter users have gotten on board with Raheem's view on social media, announcing plans to "boycott" Starbucks and calling the new cups a "war on Christmas."

A few have even said they'll tell employees their name is "Merry Christmas" to force them to write it on the cup.

Of course, for the most part, coffee lovers are just excited about the new flavours:

What do you think of the controversy?

We can't take anymore! Have the world's most famous on-off pairing REALLY decided to reconcile… again?

Earlier this year, when Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton split, experience taught us that it would probably only be a matter of time until they ended up back in each other's arms.

But then he was spotted partying with Kendall Jenner AND Gigi Hadid (indeed, he was even linked to none-other than Naomi Campbell at one stage) and we reckoned that maybe, just maybe the duo had  FINALLY moved on.

Now we're not so sure: because the 37-year-old singer and the 30-year-old Formula 1 driver have just been spotted 'hanging out' together in London.

Eeeek!

The stars – who first started dating way back in November 2007 – were pictured at a John Newman gig held at The Box in Soho.

And while a spokesperson for Nicole told MailOnline "it was a coincidence they were both at the same club. Nicole is not back with Lewis," a Sun source is not so sure.

Firstly, the pair left the venue within five minutes of one another – and although they also arrived separately, they retired to a private room together for the performance.

"The Box's security were not allowed in Nicole and Lewis's room and told to not let anybody else in," The Sun source adds.

"They stayed well after the club shut. Staff were desperate for them to leave."

Earlier this year, Mr Lewis took to Instagram to gush about Ms Scherzinger. Marking her birthday with an emotional message, as well as a snap of the two of them during happier times, he revealed: "Dear friend, Through the years we shared alot.

"I wouldn't have changed a thing. All the experiences made me the man i'm proud to be right now. The Memories together will never be taken away no matter how old we get and I'm thankful for the time we had.

"I'm wishing you the Happiest of Birthdays, and may God continue to Bless you in all that you do."

The gorgeous pair split at least four times over the course of their high-profile relationship: they broke-up twice in 2010, for a third time in the summer of 2013, and then again in the spring of this year.

How do you find the 47 most beautiful women in the world?

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which takes place on November 10, is one of the most hotly-anticipated events of the year.

But, as with any other fashion show, there are auditions, castings and fittings – although the process is just a little more intense when it comes to VS.

First up, Casting Director Michael Pfeiffer chops down around 500 submissions to 300, with each chosen model coming in for a preliminary audition with him.

"There are two days of call backs, I try then to whittle it down to 100," he explains in a new behind-the-scenes video.

Then, just ten days before the show, the final 100 women come to the Victoria's Secret HQ to walk for VS chief Ed Razek and the show's Executive Producer Monica Mitro.

Although the 15 Victoria's Secret Angels – among them Lily Aldridge, Martha Hunt, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel and Sara Sampaio – are all guaranteed a place in the show, every other model must audition as normal.

Last week we saw Gigi Hadid break down in tears after being offered a place in the show, and Ed says she wasn't the only one.

"You're meant to be objective about it but all the girls, you know how hard they've worked for it.

A few of them show their emotions, but they all feel that way."

"Every year it feels like it's the very first show, and one thing I try to do is work hard to I deserve to be here," says Brazilian model Iza Goulart.

As documented on her Instagram page, Iza keeps her athletic figure looking toned with an intense daily mix of TRX, Pilates and suspension workouts.

Of course, there's a reason every model dreams of being cast in a VS show.

"The minute a model starts working with Victoria's Secret, you can kinda hear the champagne popping, because once the phone rings and they ask for her, the career just kind of explodes," says VS Publicist Fred Howard.

With her wholly grown-up appearance and her older boyfriend (not to mention that she moved into her own €2.5m property aged 17) it's long been claimed that Kylie Jenner has had too much too soon .

Indeed, in a recent online post, the now 18-year-old star admits that it's "crazy"  that she's "grown up in front of the cameras".

Promoting the latest series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians which began filming back in 2007 when Kylie was just nine (incredibly the reality TV show is now about to embark on its 11th airing), she explained that she's "been filming for nearly half of my life".

However, rather than dwell on the potential negative impact of spending her teenager years in the spotlight, Ms Jenner said her extraordinary experiences to-date have helped her "learn fast about the lessons in life".

Last month in an emotional post, Kylie revealed that she's struggled at times with frame from such a young age.

"People are so quick to say horrible things about me everyday over and over and sometimes I can't take it," she wrote.

"Even I at times get affected by it, I breakdown, I hide, I cry. It's resulted in a lot of anxiety for me that I've never had to deal with before ever.

"My every move has been documented for the whole world and its been a nightmare trying to find myself through all of this.

"And I've absolutely lost apart of myself."

Another week, another on-stage accident for 5SOS guitarist Michael Clifford.

The band were performing at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards in London on Sunday evening when, just seconds into their song, Michael tripped and fell into a gap in the middle of the stage.

See the fall here from 0:15:

Thankfully he landed in a crew area rather than in a horde of screaming fans, which we can't imagine would have ended very well for him.

Either way, the 19-year-old took quite a tumble, and revealed he'll have a few days on crutches while his leg heals.

"WHY DO I ALWAYS HURT MYSELF," he wrote on Twitter last night, shortly after the embarrassing moment.

"On crutches for the next few days. don't look at me funny pls lolz. Thanks radio 1 for having us! Wembley arena doesn't like me much."

Of course, this isn't Michael's first accident on stage at Wembley. Back in June, the teen had to leave mid-way through a gig after a pyrotechnics mishap meant his hair caught on fire.

Happy to see the funny side of things, Michael posted a picture of his bandaged face to Twitter soon after, saying he looked like "two-face."

We hope this is the last accident for a while…

She revealed just weeks before giving birth that she already had an "extreme makeover" style plan for getting back into shape.

And two months on, Naya Rivera's hard work has clearly been paying off. The Glee actress made her first public post-baby appearance in Los Angeles, looking downright incredible in tailored high-waisted trousers and a skintight taupe top.

Naya appeared as toned as ever in her new-mum ensemble, which she topped off with a pair of aviators and her newly-lightened brown hair.

The actress took to Instagram earlier in the week to thank her colourist George Papanikolas for the new look, posting a picture with the hashtag #ThisMamasStillGotIt.

And she couldn't hide her pride last week when she shared the first social media snap of her new son Josey.

Posting a picture of the little one – who she shares with husband Ryan Dorsey – smiling while dressed in a skeleton onesie, Naya wished her followers a happy Halloween.

Trick or treat!

Speaking shortly before welcoming little Josey, Naya admitted she was looking forward to getting back to her old beauty and exercise routine.

"I have an entire post-baby plan that I wrote out and continue to look at every day," she told Yahoo! Style of her motivation for after Josey's birth.

"I definitely need a new hair style – can’t wait for that, my hair has just been so blah – and the workout regimen is gonna be pretty serious.

"I’m just gonna hit restart after, and I think that’ll be fun. It’ll be like an extreme makeover."

Ten months apart has been time enough for Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink, it seems.

The pair split back in January after fifteen years of marriage, but were spotted in Paris just yesterday looking very much the happy couple.

Wearing sunglasses and dark sweaters, Patrick and Jillian held hands as they strolled through the streets, making it clear they are now more than just friends.

The couple's split was followed just two months later by the shock announcement that Patrick was finishing up his eleven-year tenure on Grey's Anatomy.

Both announcements were strongly linked to rumours Patrick had started up a fling with "a young woman" who worked on the set of the show.

According to reports at the time, Patrick's co-star Ellen Pompeo got wind of got was going on and blew the whistle to both Jillian and the show's creator Shonda Rhimes.

Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, Shonda Rhimes issued a touching tribute after the show aired, saying, "Derek Shepherd is and will always be an incredibly important character – for Meredith, for me and for the fans.

"I absolutely never imagined saying goodbye to our 'McDreamy'… His loss will be felt by all."

And while Shonda may not be ready to give Patrick another chance, it seems Jillian is.

The celebrity make-up artist has kept Patrick's surname on all of her social media accounts, still going by her married name of Jilian Dempsey.

Patrick himself took to Instagram yesterday to share this romantic snap of the French capital:

The couple, who are parents to 12-year-old Tallulah and seven-year-old twins Sullivan and Darby, certainly seem to be giving things another go.

Three months on and still wearing his wedding ring… Gavin Rossdale is not letting go just yet.

The Bush rocker was spotted running errands in LA earlier this week while wearing his chunky gold wedding band.

Meanwhile, his ex Gwen has been openly dating her Voice co-host Blake Shelton, something which Gavin is said to be highly "suspicious" of.

"He can't believe she's calling him a control freak, because she demanded he NOT go on tour out of paranoia he'd cheat on her," a source told TMZ of Gwen and Gavin's messy divorce proceedings.

Indeed, it was originally speculated that Gwen called for a divorce over her own trust issues and suspicions of Gavin's infidelity.

Gwen cited "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce filing, and asked for joint custody of the pair's three children, nine-year-old Kingston, seven-year-old Zuma, and one-year-old Apollo.

The No Doubt singer confirmed her romance with Blake last week, telling a US radio station that he was a "rad guy" who was helping her through a difficult time.

Asked why she chose to go public with the new relationship so soon after her split, Gwen insisted it wasn't her who spilled the beans.

"'We didn't! Like, somebody did. That's what's so crazy like, who announces that? Why would I do that?" she asked.

The new couple have made no effort to hide their blossoming romance since the revelation, and were even reportedly pictured holding hands together at a Country Music Awards after-party last week.

Blake's own divorce, from country singer Miranda Lambert, was announced just two weeks before Gwen's.

Remember when the trusty landline phone was the only way to get in touch with your friends?

You knew everyone's number off by heart and would LEG it to get to the phone before your Mam did.

Well, this teenage girl has clearly never had that problem.

Growing up in the era of mobile phones, she's never even seen a landline before, let alone used one.

Want to feel VERY old? Watch her figuring out how to hang up…

Okay, we're just going to go and apply for a bus pass now because we're clearly not as young as we thought.
