In case you missed it today, the Irish rugby team took on Canada in Cardiff the first of their Rugby World Cup matches.

The result was pretty widely expected but that didn't stop either side from putting in an impressive performance.

The boys in green came out victorious though scoring seven tries from seven different players: Seán O'Brien, Iain Henderson and Johnny Sexton and all scored in the first half. Meanwhile, Seán Cronin, Rob Kearney, Jared Payne and Dave Kearney then added to the full-time score of 50-7.

Naturally, Twitter had quite a day of activity as supporters took to the social media platform to express their satisfaction with the win:

We can only imagine these lads are going to be all about the celebrations:

Pretty much all of Bressie's tweets were on point:

Oh, but the Canadians were less than pleased:

In case you thought everyone was having a great time though, there was also Gordon D'Arcy. He lost a bet with his wife, model Aoife Cogan.

Actor Jamie Dornan was supposed to star alongside Bradley Cooper in the new film Burnt

However, reports have emerged that claim film bosses are apparently too worried that Jamie's role in Fifty Shades of Grey would be "too distracting."

The Sun have made the report that while Jamie had already been involving in filming for the project, executives decided to let him go from the cast. The film is about a hotheaded chef who opens a restaurant in Paris and tries to get himself a prestigious third Michelin star.

Despite the actor undergoing specific training for the part, it would seem that his scenes have now been cut. A spokesperson for the film has confirmed that his scenes would not be used. However they did not give any specific reasons why this had happened. They said:

"Jamie's role was a small cameo that part of a back story and following the editing process is no longer part of the fim."

The tabloid are reporting that sources have pointed to his involvement with the Fifty Shades franchise as being the main reason for his dismissal:

"It's embarassing. being in Fifty Shades of Grey seems to be getting Jamie dropped from movies which he had already been cast in rather than landing him big new roles."

"But some people having him pop up on screen would be distracting. They're hoping to generate Oscar buzz with Burnt, and featuring the star of the most widely panned film of 2015 wasn't going to do the project any favours really."

Jamie's character was supposed to be a rival to that of Bradley's but it would seem that his story line will no longer feature.

Jordan Hanz in a 24-year old make up artist who shares her amazing make up skills and transformations on Instagram with 250,000 followers.

Her incredible fantasy-inspired make up looks can take between three and five hours each to create and they are actually mindblowing. She has got some magic skills with a contour brush, she really does.

For her newest project, Jordan chose to create a video that shows how derogatory labels can have a powerful affect on women. Speaking to Buzzfeed Life she explained that she was "watching the VMAs, and saw Amber Rose's statement outfit," she then became "instantly inspired by her."

Her idea then became a reality when she spent hours and hours creating a stop-motion video where hurtful words would appear on her body. She used makeup body paints to write the words whcih signified the stereotypes she felt she and the women in her life have had to fight against.

"As a woman who speaks out against others, I've often been called a bitch," she explained, "There is such a double standard when it comes to powerful men and women."

As the video goes on many words appear on her skin, Jordan says the phrase which was most difficult for her to write was 'asking for it'.

"After I was assaulted, I was made to feel that it was my fault. Victim shaming and slut-shaming is something that I want to break down."

She then removes the words and explained the message behind the video as this:

"If we love each other, and have unbreakable self-love, NOTHING can hurt us. We are strong, bad-ass women that are ladylike as f**k, because WE choose how we see ourselves."

While their characters may not have actually ever shared the screen (yet, as far as we know), Game Of Thrones stars Emila Clarke and Kit Harrington have spent plenty of time together off-screen.

The 28-year old actress has spoken out recently about what it's like to be with Kit, who plays Jon Snow, out and about. The two appear to formed quite a close bond over the last five years, despite filming in different countries.

Speaking to GQ recently, Emilia said that while she can be lucky enough to go out without being recognised, Kit is not so lucky:

"We went to a FKA Twigs gig and it was mental. I went to the loo and in the cubicle on either side the girls were like, 'That's Jon Snow out there! Don't know who that random girl is."

Ever since the HBO show's most recent series finale rumours and fan theories have been popping up everywhere regarding Kit's character Jon. Is he dead or not seems to the question that anyone who watches the show cares about.

Emilia has outed herself as one fan who doesn't think we have seen the last of him:

"We've got the red lady [Melisandre], but what would she bring him back as? She's got to take something for herself. Let's just say I'm optimistic."

Kit himself had fans in a frenzy earlier this week as he spoke to a Belgian magazine Humo about his future with the series:

"Let's just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I'll probably be in my thirties when it's over. One thing's for sure: the day I'm no longer on Thrones is the day I'll bury myself in movie projects.”

The interview was translated by eager GOT fans and posted on Reddit, but fans will just have to wait and see what happens when the show returns.

One thing that Emilia  apparently says she would not be so eager for fans to see however, was so much nudity. She was quoted as saying that certain sex scenes in GOT were 'gratuitous' and made her 'cringe'. However, she took to social media in efforts to clarlify her statement and explained:

“I was followed into a party by a journalist who asked me a question about female empowerment and then quoted me entirely out of context for an outlet I didn’t agree to speak with,” she went on to add:

“In drama, if a nude scene forwards a story or is shot in a way that adds insight into characters, I’m perfectly fine with it. Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story."

Well this is probably one of the strangest celebrity friendships we have heard of yet.

Last night on Celebrity Big Brother, 'world's first super model' Janice Dickinson was dropping names all over the place. The one name we couldn't help to ay attention to though was her favourite Irish celeb.

Janice and Ryan Tubridy are apparently the best of friends. Well, sort of anyway.

The American TV personality was having a tough time of it in the house and just couldn't face the cold anymore. She was overwhelmed with emotion when she received a care package.

Included in the package wre some extra warm jumpers from her fiancé Ricky. One of these was an Aran jumper that Ryan gifted her after her appearance on The Late Late Show

Her shout out was part of a strange goodbye speech, which was odd enough seeing as she wasn't actually going anywhere, in which she offered the jumpers to her fellow housemates.

Janice was gifted the jumper from Tubs back in 2010 when she explained that she hadn;t been able to find one anywhere. Bizarre, but also quite sweet.

Although the people of Twitter were very confused about the whole thing:

Oh Janice, you never fail to disappoint:

At this point we all know that working out is one of the best ways to stay fit and healthy. While there are days when we walk into the gym feeling like an absolute boss and let nothing distract us from absolutely smashing our workout, there are other less productive days to be had.

Trying to squeeze in gym time is hard and the last thing we want is to waste our time sweating it out and not getting any results. If you want you workouts to be 100 per cent effective every time, then try avoiding this common errors:

Doing the same thing every time:

If you love routine and don't feel yourself getting bored, you should keep in mind your body will. If your gym routine gets too easy then your progress will slow down, so try changing things from time to time.

You take too much rest:

Set a certain amount of time and stick to it, use a timer if you need to because over doing it on the 'rest' periods can mean your workout will be less effective.

You're dehydrated:

Especially when working out in the morning. Working out while dehydrated can leave you feeling dizzy and sluggish so make sure you're drinking water before during and after your workout.

You forget your recovery:

Stretching, foam rolling and the likes are all important to help your muscles repair so you don't end up achy and regretting your workout. Avoiding injury is key to making sure your fitness routine is one you can stick to.

Checking social media:

Losing focus and slowing down your workout can mean you spend more time in the gym than you realise, and only half of it has been spent working out. Unless there is a realy emergency then it's best to ignore your news feed and Instagram likes while you can.

Not having a good workout playlist:

Does anyone ever feel inspired to finish five rounds of burpees when All of You is playing in the background? Probably not. So take some time to set yourself up with a nice collection of tracks that will keep you motivated for a gym session.

Not working on your weaknesses:

If you struggle with certain exercises than instead of ignoring them entirely, ask for some advice to try and pinpoint where you're going wrong. If you don't then you might find yourself making very little or no progress despite visiting the gym several times a week.

You may not want to admit it, but at some point in you relationship things are going to move from steamy and exciting to stay in and chill. So, when it comes to thinking about how compatible you and your new significant other are, people are taking their Netflix que and DVD collection into account more than ever.

The thousands of internet memes that propose we should look into using our Netflix accounts as an online match making service are finally becoming a reality. Netfling is hyping itself up as the best way to "find your perfect couch companion."

netfling

Working much like Tinder, just without having to use a Facebook account to sort through your possible matches. Netfling would rely on your Netflix information to find people who watch the same TV series and films you do.

So there will actually be a real-life verson of 'here's 25 other singles who just watched seven series of Grey's Anatomy'.

The people at Netfling are making the claim that: “The secret to a happy relationship isn’t communication…it’s having the same Netflix taste.”

Considering there has been a dating app that bases your possible love interests on their pet ownership status, among many more bizarre dating services, we are considering Netfling might be a success. Look, winter is a long season with shorter days and chilly, wet weather. It is a time when we will shamelessly indulge in lazy evenings on the couch, so why not make the most of it?

The argument can also be made that people's taste in TV will tell you a lot about them, but also maybe too much. Do we really want potential suitors to know just how much time we spend watching Say Yes To The Dress? Hmmm.

At the very least though, you will know that you have at least two common interests: TV and online dating. Recipe for success, yes?

Audrina Patridge, former star of the MTV reality series The Hills, has admitted that she is being impersonated by someone online, and she is not happy about it.

In an interview with HuffPost Live the 30-year old was informed by a fan that he had spoken to her online previosuly. He said that she had contacted him on Facebook. However, as Audrina was quick to point out, that wasn't her. Someone online is impersonating the star and contacting her vans through social media.

The First Look host explained that this is not the first time this has happened to her and wanted to elaborate on the online nightmare further.

“She knows everything. My address… she pretends to be my parents, my siblings, my friends from high school. She knows everything.”

She added that: “Whoever that girl is, she’s ruining people’s lives."

The fake Audrina has contacted a number of male fans and explained that one even believed that they were going to be walking down the aisle. A man from Texas supposedly drove to the home of Audrina's parents because he thought they were getting married.

“I was in New York filming, and my dad answered the door and was like, ’Who are you? Why are you here?'”

Audrina explained that the 'Catfish' activities don't stop at fake marriage proposals and wedding plans, she explained that they have begun to have an effect on her professional life too.

The Catfish has started to contact charities around the country and sign Audrina up for commitments that she knows nothing about and could not fulfill. Audrina has even tried to reach out to the individual personally and ask her to stop, but it hasn't worked.

After getting the person's phone number from a 'friend of a friend', Audrina called and tried to reason with her. It didn't work out, and the TV star is still living with an online impersonator.

Well, we will be reconsidering that friend request then.

In New York City the title of oldest bar to be found in the city is one that is not given out easily.

The city has quite literally got a bar to suit your every mood, from a 60s beauty salon theme, to a place with more of a Mad Men feel there is practically something for everyone.

However, if you decided you want to take a trip to NYC's oldest ever bar, then you might be facing a bit more of a challenge. The title is one which is being fought for by three different venues.

One of these venues is McSorley's Irish bar in the East Village. The bar claims to have been around since the 1800s. While there are close to 2,000 bars to be found in New York's five boroughs, McSorley's are battling it out with two others, one in Queens and one in the city's financial district to take the title of the city's oldest.

This week, Chrisitian Nilsson of the Huffington Post took on the challenge of discovering which bar was the oldest. He discovering it is a harder answer to find than one would think:

“The point is all of these bars can be ruled out, depending on the guidelines,” he said. “But each are a part of NYC history and should be recognized as such.”

Matthew Maher, the owner of McSorley's claims the bar has been open in 1854 and commonly refers to the bar as 'the oldest tavern in New York City.'

The city's historians are taking this title very seriously and disqualifying bars in the most minor of technicalities. McSorley's risks being knocked off the top spot due to the fact that they have changed their name in the past.

Matthew though claims that he doesn't mind too much if McSorley's misses out on the title, instead he considers the fact that his pub is practically a living museum in a city that is constantly moving and changing "victorious".

According to some, Allison Willaims is said to be marrying her boyfriend Ricky Van Veen 'way out west' this weeknd.

The two are said to have planned a "top secret ceremony" with a very famous guest list and the big day is set to go ahead this weekend.

Ricky, a co-founder of College Humour and Allison got engaged last year after dating for three years. The 27-year old actress had said at the time that she and Ricky were very serious and she looked forward to settling down and starting a family with him soon. She told Glamour magazine:

"I'd love to be a mom- and not have to bring my kids into my trailer," she also noted that if need be she would "walk away" from her acting career in lieu of staring a family.

A source told Page Six about the pair's plans for this weekend:

“The wedding is being kept so secret that guests are being asked to fly to Denver, where they will be picked up and taken to the location, which is thought to be somewhere in Wyoming."

Guests are expected to include Bruce Springsteen, Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller, and Williams’ “Girls” castmates Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke. Tom Hanks and his wife Rita, who played the mother of Allison's character on girls, are also expected to make an appearance.

“The accommodations for all guests are being paid for and then many of the guests are flying to LA together for Sunday’s Emmys," the source added.

Allison and Ricky were said to have delayed their wedding plans until now as her father, a news anchor in the US, was forced to step down from his position as host of the series Nightly News

Earlier this year Allion commented on the scandal saying:

"This has been a really hard time. Obviously [it’s] toughest on my dad, who is sort of bearing the full burden of the responsibility for it. Current events started happening so that derailed [wedding plans] a little bit.”

Brian is currently doing the rounds with media ahead of the release of his new single Call On Me Brother.

The 35-year old, who recently split from wife Vogue, has said that he has no regrets about the failure of both of his marriages. The 35-year old pointed out that happines is what he belives is the most important thing for people. He said that:

"If people break up, they break up and it's not as big a deal as people make it out to be."

Having lived in the US Brian believes that their approach to marriage is more realistic than the Irish approach:

."I have lived in America, in LA and New York and this is normal. People get married all the time.

“Irish people are so used to meeting someone, getting married, having kids and then spending the next 40 years hating each other but living under the same roof."

Brian said that we don't live in that world anymore and people "have just got to be happy."

He and Vogue announced their break up in July and since then have been the subject of must discussion regarding how they still appear to be quite close. The Mirror writes that Brian has pointed out that he doesn't think that breaking up with someone means you never speak to them again.

“It doesn’t always have to be some big World War where people start fighting and hating each other. Everyone should just live their own lives by their own rules," the father of two added.

He also commented that he doesn't think he will be getting married again any time soon, pointing out he's still technically married now so he doesn't see a third trip down the aisle in his future. His marriage to Kerry Katona in 2002 also ended in a break up four years later.

The singer is currently revamping his solo career with his latest single which notes is:

“It’s about the lads because I think boys always struggle to tell each other about emotions or feelings or anything like that.

“They are all a bit too cool so I wanted to write a song saying ‘You’ve always been there for me so if you ever need anything I’ll be there for you."

Brian will be playing his first Dublin gig in a decade this November in Whelans and his new album is set to be released early next year.
