When 21-year-old UK student Eloise Parry ordered slimming pills online, she was convinced the dangerous side effects she had read about were an exaggeration.

Just days later, she died in hospital after "burning up from within" following an accidental overdose on the highly toxic pills. The tablets contained Dinitrophenol, or DNP, which is often touted as a 'fat-burning' chemical, but in reality is a highly dangerous drug that can overstimulate the metabolism to a fatal level.

Hours before her death on the afternoon of April 12th 2015, Eloise had messaged one of her university lecturers to say, "Binged/purged all night and took four pills at 4am. I took another four when I woke and I started vomiting soon after…I think I am going to die. No one is known to survive if they vomit after taking DNP. I am so scared. I am so sorry for being so stupid."

In another message she added that she had "screwed up big time." After taking the pills and beginning to vomit, Eloise was still well enough to drive herself to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital shortly after 9am but within hours her condition had deteriorated, as her metabolism soared and her body overheated. There is no known antidote for DNP, and despite attempts to stabilise her condition, Eloise died at 3.25pm, six hours after arriving at the hospital.

Speaking at her inquest into her death yesterday, Eloise's mother Fiona pleaded with anyone considering taking diet pills to avoid them at all costs. "I would implore anyone even considering taking DNP or something similar not to do so. These substances are sold by people who don't care about your health – they just want your money."

She said her daughter, who had a history of bulimia, had a made a "bad choice" and urged others in the same situation to seek help rather than resorting to illegal pills. "If somebody as capable as her can make that mistake it really worries me that other people will, so I want people to know how much it cost her, in the hope they will realise how serious those warnings are," she continued.

Explaining the events of April 12th, Fiona held back tears as she described how her daughter was "literally burning up from within," adding, "When she stopped breathing, they put her on a ventilator and carried on fighting to save her. When her heart stopped they couldn't revive her."

Eloise's tragic death is not the first DNP-related fatality in recent months. In May, an Irish man in his mid-20s was reported to have died after taking similar pills, just days after the State's medical watchdog issued an alert regarding diet pills bought online.

Irish Health Products Regulatory Authority chief Pat O'Mahony warned anyone attempting to buy slimming aids online to use extreme caution. "Bogus websites can be very sophisticated and appear to be legitimate. However, in reality they can be supplying unsafe and harmful products," he explained.

Coca-Cola’s most recent results have shown that there has been a dramatic decrease in the number of Diet Coke sales.

The company have said that sales of the once popular drink have fallen seven percent on the same quarter last year, which is continuing the decline that begun in 2008.

But why is the popularity of our favourite diet drink falling so rapidly? We KNOW it can't be because of their advertising…

Well, according to The Independent, there are two possible reasons.

Firstly, analysts have associated the recent results on consumer awareness of the obesity risks that are connected with drinking sugary drinks.

Euromonitor noted that, “as consumer awareness of the risks of a high sugar diet has grown, the sugar content of regular Coca-Cola could hinder the company as the consumer agenda increasingly switches to looking for healthier food and drink options.”

But, as Diet Coke has no sugar in it, you may wonder why this would affect healthy eating habits? Consumer health awareness has also made people wary of the potential dangers of ingesting chemically produced sugar substitutes, like the ones found in Diet Coke.

The other possible reason is that within their own brand, Coca-Cola have developed a number of healthier alternatives, and the increase in their sales has contributed to the diminishing of other products.

For example, both Coke Zero and Coca-Cola Life have seen an increase in sales since their production began.

So, if they really are that much better for us, we should probably get used to the idea of switching over ourselves. We just really hope that they put the same effort into advertising their new drinks that they did with Diet Coke…

As we all know, there is no topic more interesting to discuss than British Prime Minister David Cameron and his promises about their NHS healthcare reforms… Hmmmm. We didn’t think so either.

And it seems that we weren’t the only ones. These two guys apparently knew exactly how dull this topic was when they decided to hijack Sky News’ airtime by performing a magic trick in the background.

Reporter Ashish Joshi was standing on the grass in front of Westminster when the stage illusionists, Young and Strange, decided that this was their opportune moment to get some real airtime and put on a show.

And the result is absolutely hilarious.

Chris Brown has been stuck in Manila in the Philippines for two days while immigration officials refuse to grant him permission to leave.

The 26-year-old singer is being held in the Southeast Asian country after a fraud complaint was filed against him saying that Mr Brown owed a religious Christian group over a million dollars refund after he skipped a concert he was meant to perform there last New Year’s Eve. Although, he performed a make-up concert in the country just three days ago.

In a desperate appeal, the Five More Hours singer posted a video of himself to his Instagram in which he is seen pleading, with his hands in a prayer position, to get out of the Philippines and back to the US safely. The video, which has since been deleted, was captioned “OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!” as the singer pleaded to the President of the United States.

Chris also took to Twitter to explain the severity of the situation. “This is a very serious situation and someone needs to be held accountable for mixing my name up in all this. I’ve done nothing wrong!!!”

He added, “I have nothing to do with anything going on right now. I came back to Manila to do a make-up show for New Years, I did the show three days ago.”

The concert that the father-of-one failed to show up for was sponsored by the Christian group Iglesia ni Cristo. The religious group are hugely influential on Philippine politics.

This is by no means the first time that high-profile celebrities have run into difficulty when performing in the country.

The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and One Direction are a few of the world’s biggest names in music that have had trouble with the Philippine government and censorship controls.

When asked about Mr Brown’s case, a US embassy spokesman told AFP that, “The embassy assists its citizens who are in need.”

Kate Moss and her husband of four years, Jamie Hince, are reportedly headed down the road to divorce.

The couple, who were married in 2011, have allegedly told friends that there is slim chance of reconciling their relationship.

Rumours that their marriage is on the rocks have been running rampant for a number of months, largely due to the fact that the couple haven’t been seen together since the beginning of April.

It especially became clear that there was trouble in paradise when the 46-year-old rocker was seen at Glastonbury last month without his supermodel wife. Kate is known to be seriously fond of the festival and rarely ever misses it.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider revealed that “They are properly over as a married couple. It’s gone past the point of no return.”

The source explained that “Jamie’s just waiting for Kate to move forward with divorce proceedings. Neither are in a hurry but both suspect there won’t be a reconciliation.”

The 41-year-old model met her husband in 2007, shortly after her tumultuous engagement to Pete Doherty ended. After their wedding in 2011, Kate told the German magazine Gala that she would like to have more kids in her future.

Ms Moss has one daughter, 12-year-old Lila Grace from her former relationship to Jefferson Hack.

Just hours after President Obama gave an interview to the BBC discussing how his “greatest frustration” as the President was his failure to enact “common sense” gun control laws, another mass shooting has taken place.

This time the incident occurred in Lafayette, a town in the state of Louisiana. The gunman, who is believed to be a 58-year-old “lone, white male” shot dead two people before taking his own life.

It is almost three years to the day that James Holmes shot and killed 12 people and injured a further 70. It was only days ago that he was found guilty of all charges against him.

While it has not been confirmed, many outlets have reported that the shooting took place during a screening of Amy Schumer’s new hit-comedy, Trainwreck.

Amy, along with a host of other celebrities, has tweeted her devastation upon hearing the tragic news.

When we reported just days ago that Kylie had graduated from high school, we should have known that that could only mean one thing… Graduation party!

Kim and the girls have taken to Instagram to post some totally hilarious photos from a photo booth that they hired for the party.

But it seems that Kylie’s graduation wasn’t the only one that they were celebrating.

Although Kendall graduated last year, the Kardashian-Jenner clan have been waiting for both the girls to finish so they could throw them a joint surprise graduation party.

And of course, there was quite the guest list. It seems that the famous friends of the sisters were also in attendance, with pictures of Gigi Hadid and Ryan Seacrest cropping up already (and we're of course presuming that Tyga was there).

As you may have noticed, we have been speculating for WEEKS as to whether or not Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will feature in the next season of Made in Chelsea.

And at last, it looks as if our dreams have finally come true.

As MIC staple Stephanie Pratt is the sister of former The Hills star, Spencer, it seems only fitting that he and his wife, Heidi, would make an appearance in the show while they are filming in their hometown of Los Angeles.

While it has still not been confirmed that Speidi are joining the cast of Made in Chelsea, they have been spotted filming scenes with Stephanie and Lucy Watson.

Heidi and Spencer became famous from the hit MTV show, The Hills, before they remerged into the world of reality TV in Celebrity Big Brother in 2013. In keeping with their public perception in The Hills, Speidi quickly became the characters that everyone loves to hate.

And it looks as if our favourite reality royalty aren’t the only ones set for a comeback. As we reported earlier, Ollie Locke and Gabriella Ellis have also been snapped hanging out with Binky and co.

This looks like it is shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet.

Time to move over Spencer and Lauren, the real King and Queen of reality TV are back!

It’s not everyday that an ionic A-lister loops you into their online chats, but as one Dublin woman now knows, it can indeed happen.

Yes, when well-known illustrator Holly Shortall innocuously said she was “seething with jealousy” during a light-hearted online interaction in which none-other than Cher was tagged – she found herself at the receiving end of the singer’s notoriously bonkers wit.

“My initial reaction was 'OMG Cher tweeted me' like there are very few people as iconic as Cher so I was so excited!” Holly exclusively explained to SHEmazing! this evening.

“Then I read it about 54 times trying to figure out what it all meant.”

Holly added of her idol: “She's gas, her tweets make absolutely no sense.”

Describing herself as a bit of a Cher super-fan, Ms Shortall went on to explain that she remains “obsessed with the movie Mermaids” [the 1990 comedy staring the singer].

In fact, as a child Holly even wished the 69-year-old Californian “was my real mom”.

Her run-in with celebrity royalty began yesterday when the equally Cher-obsessed @Rowlegendary posted a picture of a quirky coffee table embellished with the star's most prolific tweets.

"I got a coffee table of @Cher's best tweets as a gift. I don't see how my birthday can get any better," he wrote.

When Holly spotted the message, she quickly responded with a tongue-in-cheek: “I don't know but I am seething with jealousy.”

Step forward Cher herself, who in response went for the weird and wonderful: “Jealousy is a GIFT BITCH. That Just Keeps On Giving. Weird Thing..You're Not hurting Any1, But YOU, Cause ur Hiding Your SHAME.”

Brilliantly confusing, we say.

Still, the 26-year-old Dubliner, who counts the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kelly Osborne among the fans of her artwork, certainly hasn’t let the incident get her down.

In fact, she’s been taking it all in her stride – especially when Cher tweeted at Ms Shortall AGAIN to clarify that she wasn't calling her a b**ch, but jealousy itself.

“I love having a laugh and taking the mick out of myself so I won't lie, it's been fun,” Holly also told SHEmazing!

But sadly, she doesn’t think Cher will be in touch in the future.

“She’ll probably have long forgotten about me and have a new victim in her sights already!” she laughed.

Honestly the first thing we thought of when we saw this news was ‘finally’.

Three geniuses have reinvented the Tinder game and we think this could actually be better than the Tindog experiment.

It’s very simple, much like the original Tinder concept: Swipe left, swipe right, find your perfect match. However, while previously you were searching for the romantic love of your life, these guys just made it even better. They created Tinder for food.

The three buddies Jordan Homan, Necco Ceresani and David Blumenfield bonded over food, don’t all best friends though? Their passion for food made them look at apps such as Tinder in a new light.

“As a twenty-something, we are all constantly combating the impulse to just eat-out or pick something up,” Jordan told Boston.com.

The named their app Tender (we see what you did their guys), and it isn’t just glorified food porn, it actually gives you the recipes of the delicious dishes on offer. By swiping right you save the recipe to your 'cookbook' so you can go back and check it later,. 

“How often do you really think, ‘God, I could go for Indonesian tonight?’” David asked. “But when you get smacked in the face with a picture that looks so appetizing it is hard to say no to at least giving it a try.”

He’s correct, a mere three minutes after installing the app all you want to do is go home and make your own pulled pork tacos.

You’re not just going to be stocking up on dinner recipes either, there are filters for desserts and cocktails. Also, there’s tons of vegan dishes to choose from so no one is left behind.

Maybe you could even start combining your Tinder and Tender use? We do love when someone can cook us a decent homemade meal…

Congrats are in order for Criminal Minds actress AJ Cook this evening, with the news that she has become a mum for the second time.

AJ, who plays Jennifer "JJ" Jareau on the popular crime drama, welcomed her second son in the early hours of this morning, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly today. The little one, who was born weighing 7lbs 6oz, is named Phoenix Sky Andersen.

AJ and her husband Nathan Andersen are also parents to a six-year-old son, Mekhai Allan.

Phoenix's arrival bears special significance for AJ, who celebrated her 37th birthday just yesterday. Celebrations were pretty low-key, as it is be expected considering AJ was preparing to give birth, but her husband made sure to bring her an extra special treat all the same… her favourite fast food.

"Took Alexander out for a fancy birthday meal," Nathan wrote, posting a picture of a bag of food from iconic burger chain In-N-Out on Instagram.

Nathan and AJ announced they were expecting back in March, calling their second pregnancy a "miracle" and a "blessing".

 

Miracles do happen and don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise. #blessed #bump

The expectant parents even revealed their baby's gender that same day, with Nathan taking to social media to say, "Since @ajcook announced we are expecting a new addition to the clan, I guess it's my responsibility to inform everyone it's a boy!"

We can't wait to see a first snap.
