These festivals are full of culture, colour and fun. If you are lucky enough, you may experience a few of them.

1. Fourth of July – US
Held, unsurprisingly, on the 4th of July each year all over the United States. Barbecues, beer and the American flag are all a staple part of any good 4th of July celebration!

2. Mardi Gras – New Orleans, US
Beginning on January 6th and stretching until Shrove Tuesday, you have about 11 hours left to get to the best city for celebrating Mardi Gras!

3. Oktoberfest – Munich, Germany
A 16 day festival running from the end of September until the first week of October. A celebration of Bavarian culture, dress and of course, beer.

4. La Tomatina – Buñol, Spain
Held on the last Wednesday of August each year, this day consists mainly of throwing tomatoes at people. What a fun mess!

5. Diwali – Nepal, India
Also known as the Festival of Lights, this ancient Hindu tradition is held in autumn each year. The festival celebrates the victory of lightness over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair.

6. St Patrick’s Day – Dublin, Ireland
I’m sure most of us know about this one and there is nowhere like Dublin on Paddy’s Day for fun, festivities and Guinness!

7. Holi Festival, India
This is also known as the Festival of Colours and is another ancient Hindu tradition. The festival has become increasingly popular with travellers and promotes community spirit as everyone is fair game in this colourful and friendly fight!

8. Carnival – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Held around the same time as Mardi Gras, before Lent, Rio is renowned for holding one of the most famous Carnival celebration.

Could Justin Bieber and the lovely Selena Gomez be back together?

Justin put up a photo of Selena last night onto his Instgram account with the caption: “Most elegant princess in the world”.

Perhaps the couple are in talks of reuniting, or maybe Biebs is just trying his damnedest to win her affections once again.

Either way we can’t help but feel Selena deserves a lot more than the bad behaviour Justin has been displaying lately.

Masterchef Ireland is returning to our screens tonight.

With the high standards that have been shown in the last few years, we can’t wait to see what this year’s amateur chefs have in store.

During the launch of the TV programme, Dylan McGrath addressed why he enjoys doing the show and the growing awareness of food in Ireland: “We do the show because we have a ball making it and also because it is giving restaurants the boost they need. I think it is an incredible time for restaurants in Ireland … Ireland has become a real food nation.”

Dylan McGrath runs the famous Rustic Stone restaurant on George’s St  as well as Fade St. Social on Fade St. in Dublin. He will be joined on Masterchef Ireland once again by Nick Munier, co-owner of Pichet restaurant in Trinty Lane, Dublin.

Masterchef Ireland will air Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8.30pm on RTÉ  One.

Nigella Lawson is the cover star of next month’s British Vogue and decided to wear hardly any make-up.

In what could be interpreted as an attempt to stop hiding behind her perfect ‘domestic goddess’ persona, the TV chef is photographed with just a little blush and a dab of mascara.

Vogue insiders have said the cover photo has only undergone a little photoshopping: “Miss Lawson received a little retouching as we do with all cover images. Oddly given that she is a woman in her fifties, less than some people decades younger.”

Given the troubles Nigella has experienced in the last year after rumours of domestic abuse and a court case that revealed she’d taken drugs, we have a lot of admiration for her honest photo shoot.

We find it difficult to leave the house without make-up, don’t mind appear without it on Vogue!

Whether he has a girlfriend, a wife or is going out with your best friend, you can’t help but think he is lovely.

Here are some tips to ensure things don’t go too far. You don’t want to jeopardize something far more important  – your integrity.

1. Don’t look into it too much
Attraction is a part of life – acting on it isn’t. Think about how many people you have been attracted to in the past and how many people you have actually loved. There is a big difference and attraction passes.

2. Don’t play into his game
Some men cheat and have no problem with it, same goes for many women. Just because it is OK with him to cheat on his other half with you is absolutely no reason for you to allow yourself become the “other woman”.

3. Don’t allow bad behaviour
A knowing glance or a cheeky brush of his hand shouldn’t be tolerated. Nip it in the bud and act in way you feel is appropriate. If you need to, take him aside and let him know firmly you will not be a part of whatever it is he is trying to do. Obviously be sure he is not just a touchy feely person anyway before you do this!

4. Allow yourself to like him
Don’t beat yourself up about it. Figure out what it is about him that you find so attractive and use it to find your next catch.

5. Don’t get into any bad situation
If the married guy and you are the last to leave a party and have been fighting off the sexual tension all night, things might go wrong. Get out of there when everybody else does. Drink and sexual tension are usually not a good mix.

6. Never meet alone
If it is outside of your regular social circle, don’t do it. Even if it is just a coffee, it looks bad.

Fans of the Divergent series will be getting very excited as the release date approaches. The movie will hit Irish cinemas on April 4th and stars Shailene Woodley as protagonist Tris and Theo James as the dreamy Four.

But how does author Veronica Roth feel her pride and joy has translated onto the big screen? Well, she took to her Tumblr account and shared her opinions on the movie adaptation of Divergent.

Speaking first about the surreality of seeing her book as a movie, Veronica said: “I packed up a suitcase and flew to LA and bought some Milk Duds and watched the Divergent movie. You know. As one does. (?!!!)”

Veronica went on to think back to her days of writing the book: “I would flash back to this image of myself in pajama pants with gross hair typing away on my computer, and then juxtapose it over the gorgeous shots of the Sears Tower or Navy Pier … it was so ridiculously awesome and surreal I just wanted to laugh and cry all at once.”

In relation to how her characters were presented by Shailene and Theo, Veronica gushed: “Shailene Woodley as Tris and Theo James as Four are everything I hoped for (or maybe more than I dared to hope for).”

So, in a nutshell, Veronica was really pleased with the movie and said: “I loved it. I was completely absorbed by it.”

Yay, this makes us extra excited to see it in April!

Recently single Katy Perry stepped out in an unusual outfit at the U-Express Live 2014 press conference in Japan. The singer, who was joined by Korean pop group Girls’ Generation, looked like she was in the mood for a Big Mac.

However, we are going to give the girl some slack as she has been having a pretty busy time lately, delivering her friend’s baby and dealing with her split from John Mayer.

It seemed like John was far from her mind though as The Roar singer was all smiles at the event. According to HollywoodLife, the reason she and John split was because he broke a promise.

A source explained: “The last time they broke up — John won her back by making a ton of promises — he was going to put her first, but now he’s falling back into his old patterns.”

The source added: “Katy isn’t willing to put up with any shenanigans. She’s devastated but she felt she had to do this to take care of herself.”

America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift has filed a restraining order against a man who has been stalking her for a number of years.

The obsessed fan has reportedly been harassing the Everything Has Changed singer since 2011.

Timothy Sweet, the stalker identified in court documents obtained by TMZ, has been bombarding Taylor with emails, tweets and letters.

Messages have included: “My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills. I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life.”

More worrying though, was the following message: “If anyone in Taylor Swift’s family gets killed, it is not my fault.”

Sounds like a very scary veiled threat to us.

Poor Taylor must have been so frightened, but a judge has ordered the man to stay 100 yards away from the singer and three specific family members.

Everyone knows that Taylor Swift doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to successful relationships. But, we don’t think she should lose all hope just yet.

Over the weekend, the 24-year-old Trouble singer was seen yet again with her buddy Ed Sheeran, who was also her supporting act on her Red Tour.

Although they were surrounded by good friends Jaime King and Murray Cummings, the two looked a bit too comfortable in the photo booth at the Vanity Fair bash.

A few months back, Swift spoke about her relationship with the Small Bump singer making it clear the two were just friends:

“I have never had such a close guy friend before. It’s always kind of creepy because with a guy friend-girl friend situation, it usually feels like one person always wants more,” she said.

“That’s not the case here. If [a guy] wants to be friends with me, just know people are going to say we’re dating,” Tyalor went on to say.

We aren’t saying you are, we’re hoping you are! Wouldn’t they make such a cute couple?

Cara Delevingne and Michelle Rodriguez have declared their eternal love for each other by having a commitment ceremony.

The inseparable couple are currently holidaying together in Thailand and took part in a  traditional religious Thai service.  

“Now it’s really getting serious. On their holiday Cara and Michelle organised a Baci ceremony, which is also called ‘the kwan’ in Thai,” a source told the Daily Star.

“They had the peaceful sunset ceremony involving a big circle of devotees chanting and offering flowers while sitting in the centre of their hotel gardens.

“Their wrists were tied with white bracelets and joined together to commemorate the union.

“It can symbolise anything precious like a bond or an achievement, and shows how much they want to make a commitment to each other.”

They’ve only been dating since the beginning of this year, but they really do seem serious about each other.
