The noughties are back in a big way when it comes to fashion – with key 00s it-items like the Fendi Baguette bag and the Dior Saddle Bag at the top of many Vestaire Collective wish lists, and motif collaborations from the likes of Playboy appearing on big name accessible digital brands like Missguided.

One brand which defined the decade with their low slung jeans, chain belts and R'n'b influences was Baby Phat, worn by 00s icons like Lil Kim, Paris Hilton, Alicia Keyes and Cam’ron.

In 2006, while on a family trip to New York, I purchased my own piece from the era-defining brand – a navy halterneck crop top with the signature Baby Phat cat motif adorning the front in yellow-toned diamantes.

The brand, created by Kimora Lee Simmons in 1999, was an homage to 00s sass – rhinestones adorned the surface of most pieces, jeans were cut so low that public bones were seeing the light of day, and the now iconic fur trimmed, cropped parka jackets, which carried the same cat silhouette logo across the back.

The runway shows were explosions of attitude, with models stomping the runways in mere flitters of silk dresses, satin bikinis teamed with fur coats,  diamond grills, and bright pink co-ords, often with miniature teacup dog breeds at their sides.

However, the brand was bought up in 2010, and Kimora was no longer at the reigns. The brand faded into the archives of 00s fashion, along with our Playboy pencil cases and Von Dutch caps, and my Baby Phat halter top was consigned to a thrift store (cursing myself for that now) but now, it's making a resurgence.

Kimora is back in charge of the brand, and it will be launching it's first contemporary collection this year.

'It’s the rebirth of my baby,' she told PEOPLE Magazine.

'Here we are again, 20 years later in 2019, and now [my daughters] are with me taking the reigns,' she said.

'This is a woman-owned company, run by me and my daughters. I’ve been in fashion for 30 years. But now it’s about passing the torch from one to the next.'

The brand will be keeping it's original flair, while creating brand new designs.

'It’s going to be an ode to the past but then they will pick it up where we left off,' she said.

Speaking of her daughter's input – Ming, who is 19, and Aoki, who is 16, would often walk the runway with their mother when she took her designer's bow – she said:

'They are involved in every aspect of the business'

'Ming studies business and fashion in college in New York, and Aoki is in Los Angeles and will be in college next year.'

'They’re very much innovators and influencers. We’re like the Three Musketeers.'

'It’s all going to be still cool, still sexy and still fun.'

The brand is due to re-launch this summer on babyphat.com, but if you can't wait until then you can still nab Baby Phat originals online and on Depop.

It's the end of an era.

Sam Thompson, Little Sammy T, is bidding farewell to Made in Chelsea

At this rate he's one of the only cast members that most of recognise (the f*ck is Habbs?)

Anyway, the 26-year-old has had enough of the scripted, awkward-silences, champagne-scoffing shenanigans and we can't blame him tbh.

His reason?

A post shared by Sam Thompson (@samthompsonuk) on

He's struggling with his split from on-screen GF Sophie Habboo.

He told Heart London Breakfast that he felt his time on the show had come to a natural end after copping the obvious – that the majority of the cast were mates with his ex and that his own friends had moved on.

He said, ''The split is why I kind of left in the first place. You don't want to be around your ex. Everyone on there is now more her friend and a lot of my friends have upped and left.''

He continued, ''I get a lot of things wrong, and I think to learn, evolve and grow as a human you have to make mistakes but when you're doing it on TV, people are judgey. It'll be nice not to have that level of scrutiny.''

He added, ''Getting dumped all the time was chipping away at my confidence."

He went on to say that filming MIC takes a lot of work and in the seven years that he's been on it, he sure has given us some memorable moments.

Remember him trying it on with…eh, literally almost everyone at some point?

His ill-fated romance with Tiffany Watson aka moaniest woman on the planet?

His incessant ''maaaaaate'' and clapping Jamie on the back every few seconds?

He said, ''I grew up on that show. I joined when I was 19, I'm 26 now. The door is not shut, but I don't see myself going back in the near future.''

He continued, ''I haven't had time to sit down and think about it. I think I'll be back at some point, so I'm not too sad."

If you miss him fear not, he's over on Celebs Go Dating saying ''maaaate'' every few seconds and being cringey at chatting up girls – sure it's MIC without the posh accents.

Aaron Carter has slammed Michael Jacksons alleged sexual abuse victims and made threats against one of them.

The singer has dismissed the allegations made against Michael in the documentary Leaving Neverland.

The 31-year-old questioned the pairs timing wen it came to speaking out about the sexual abuse they claimed to have suffered at the hands of Michael.

He said, ''You're a grown man, and when Michael Jackson was alive, you are backing him, you are up his a**, you are kissing his a**, you are there to testify for him under oath, and then when he dies, you decide that's a good time to come out?''

He continued, ''No, what you are doing is, you're actually stomping on an icon and a legend's grave – you're stomping his grave."

Aaron added, ''Why not do it when he was alive? Why not do it when he was being accused of all of these molestation charges. Why not do it then and actually indict a perpetrator?''

He went on to say that Wade and James should have made their claims during the 2005 molestation trial.

He also said that he would sleep in Michael's bed when he was 15 – and nothing inappropriate ever happened.

He said, ''I hung out with Michael Jackson, I stayed at his house, I stayed in his bedroom…It's hard for me to understand – how am I supposed to understand that when my own personal experience with him was gentle and beautiful and loving and embracing.''

The Leaving Neverland, which has aired in the UK, contains horrifying allegations of child abuse from the two men who claim they were abused by Michael as young boys.

It has divided Michael's fans and been the topic of discussion on social media.

I always wanted nice, long nails.

Not talons, but nails that actually reached the end of my finger and looked shiny and polished; nails I wasn't embarrassed for people to see when I was showing them rings on my fingers.

Nails kinda like Molly Ringwald's elegant dusty-rose ones in The Breakfast Club.

Alas, my fondness for chewing my own nails off at any given opportunity since I could chew has left me with fingers that I hide at any given chance.

That is, until I got them done at the Salon at The Shelbourne Hotel.

The Shelbourne is such a gorgeous place to begin with, and the Salon oozes opulence.

I was greeted by Rani, possibly the friendliest woman on the planet, who made me feel right at home straight away.

I sat in the salon surrounded by stunning blooms and people getting blow-dries and pedicures and to get the vibe of how fancy this salon is – there was an Eiffel Tower of macaroons beside me.

My nail technician, Maria, arrived and looked at my bitten nails but thankfully, they didn't bother her at all and she set to work on them.

I was getting CND Shellac so the first thing Maria did was shape my nails with a file.

This was miraculous – by actually shaping them and then – step two of pushing back the cuticles, my nails looked longer already.

Now, I am embarrassingly bad with pain (I can't even pluck my own eyebrows) so the pain I felt at getting the cuticles pushed back and later, the excess skin around my nail beds removed, probably wouldn't be that painful for most people.

(My editor even said she enjoyed the sensation – ehhh, no.)

The nails were then sanitised and the excess oils on them gotten rid of – so the Shellac would stick.

Then, Maria applied a layer of the CND Shellac Base Coat and after each layer was applied, I put my hand under a UV lamp for 10 or so seconds.

I chose the shade Negligee, which was a barely-there pink and Maria set to work coating it on.

The UV lamp dried them and the third coat to be applied was the top coat, followed by drying it under the UV lamp.

All the while this is happening, Maria regularly checks to see if I'm OK and if it hurts and Rani arrives with a glass of champers for me to sip on.

The whole experience was so relaxing and my nails are beautiful – for a girl who doesn't have much of them.

While I was there, I was surrounded by women who had come in groups and I have to say, it's a perf place to bring someone as a gift.

You can opt for a few different packages – there's the Corporate Couture one, ideal for those who have busy working days.

You get a blow-dry of choice, make-up application and buff and polish.

If you want to go all-out, I'd recommend The Hollywood Legends package which is where you can get a luxurious blow-dry and manicure while having a glass of chilled champagne.

Coming up to Mother's Day, it would be an ideal day of pampering for you and your mum.

The Salon itself is absolutely stunning – open seven days a week, it's a haven of calm with cream interior that just oozes glamour.

It has the ultimate pampering facilities for hair and beauty connoisseurs and a highly trained team of experts in the fields of hairdressing and beauty services including luxury manicures, pedicures and facials.

The Salon also offers express facial treatments, by the world-renowned brands Elemis – something you should definitely try.

If you're heading somewhere important early, the Shelbourne Breakfast Club Executive Blow-Dry is for you.

It will give you an amazing blow-dry in minimum time, along with a gorgeous pastry and a tea or coffee.

In short, the Salon at The Shelbourne is something everyone should experience.

My own experience has shown me that with the right treatment, you can clean up your nails – no matter what shape they're in – and have them looking FAB.

The Shellac should stay for two weeks – and in that time there won't be a single nibble because I'll be heading to Maria for another treatment, that's for sure.

Dating sucks and swiping though Tinder profiles is, frankly, exhausting AND boring.

Even going on a date is such a huge effort – the whole getting-ready malarkey as well as the actual date itself takes so much energy.

But what about when you get dolled up, show up and present the version of yourself, and you get a barrage of messages afterwards about how you could ''improve'' yourself.

Oh, the absolute NECK of some people.

Kimberley Latham-Hawkesford went on what she thought was a straight-forward date and then didn't hear from him for three months.

Man sends date list of how to improve three months after first date. Kimberley Latham-Hawkesford tinder date.

However, he did in in touch and what eh ahd to say was, well, hilarious.

He apologised for the silence since their date and then launched into 15 things he think Kimberley needs to improve about herself.

Strap in, it's MAD.

He wrote, ''If you lost some weight, you would look incredible. Maybe about a stone or so. You are very pale. I know you aren’t a fan of the sun but a bit of fake tan won’t hurt.''

He continued, ''You have quite big boobs so you should show your off cleavage more. I think you need to wear clothes that suit your figure and maybe update your style slightly. Just so I’m not embarrassed to be seen with you.''

We're pissing ourselves laughing here.

He seemed a bit confused as on one hand he went on to tell her that she needs to look more natural, while also saying she needs hair extensions and lip fillers.

He wrote, ''You need to look more natural, stop wearing makeup. Just make yourself look decent but don’t overkill it.''

He then added, ''Your lips have gone down so you should think of getting more filler. I know you said you regretted it but filler would make you look sexier.''

What. A. Gent.

To round it all of – and continued the pattern of his advice making NO SENSE, he says, ''You need so much more confidence, confidence is sexy! Get a sense of humour, you didn’t laugh at a single one of my jokes. You just seemed a bit stuck up. Sort your personality out.''

He didn't like her offering to split the bill either, writing, ''You made me feel shit when you offered to pay. It’s like you thought I didn’t have enough money after telling you how much is in my account.''

It looks like Kimberley had lucky scape and will be avoiding dates like the plague if this is the shit we've to put up with.

January is long behind us, and it can be tough to keep the ‘healthy living’ momentum going when something as concrete as a New Year’s resolution now seems so distant.

Luckily, there are plenty of simple, wholesome and healthy steps that we can all take every day to see an improvement in our health.

These every day, easy tips can make a huge impact on how you feel health-wise, and can improve your own sense of personal wellbeing.

  1. Get those steps in

It may sound daunting, but it is recommended that everyone takes at least 10,000 steps per day.  Start small – if you commute, get off the bus a stop or two ahead of the one closest to work or home, or if you drive, park 20 mins away from work. It might even end up being cheaper for parking.

  1. Simple Swaps

While giving foods you love up entirely is just being mean to yourself, making simple swaps can help you cut down on the dietary aspects you need less of while still enjoying your fave recipes.

Whether it’s changing regular bread for a low-sugar version, or your regular cheese for a lighter one, the smallest changes can make the biggest difference.

  1. Mind as well as body

There is no point in embarking on a healthy lifestyle change if that change doesn’t take your mental health into consideration.

Taking the step to change your usual 30 minutes of phone scrolling into a time for mindful meditation and reflection can help your mindset astronomically.

  1. Big plate, little plate

If you want to maintain or reduce your weight for health reasons, or simply incorporate more veg and fruit into your meals, the big plate, small plate method can help.

You can choose to eat your meals from two plates – a big plate, which should be full of salad and leafy greens, along with cooked or raw veg, and a small plate to hold your carbs and protein sources.

  1. Get a fulfilling nights rest

Sleep deprivation can cause so many things – from overeating to accidental over caffeinating, and nobody wants that.

While it might seem like a daunting task to add an hour or so of shut eye to your current routine, your health will thank you for it.

  1. Venture outside

Going outside is proven to be good for both your mental and physical health., We spend so much time cooped up in office buildings and sheltering from the Irish rain – why not take the opportunity to get out and about when you can.

Fresh air and relaxing in nature can relieve stress – a hugely negative lifestyle factor.

  1. Water water, everywhere

Ah water, the unflavoured spice of life.

There are too many benefits to getting your water in every day to list – but getting 1.5 to 2ltrs of water drank is one of the easiest ways to feel more energised.

A GoFundMe campaign that is blowing up with over €200k raised for former Cork footballer Kieran O’Connor.

The campaign has been set up to help him and his family with current living and future medical expenses to beat Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer.

Kieran was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, which is a rare form of bone cancer.

In the summer, Kieran went through aggressive chemotherapy for 3-4 months to shrink the tumour enough so that the surgeons could go ahead with his operation.

The surgeon operated on the tumour and shaved off 110mm of bone and attached ligament as part of the repair.

Over the last few months, the 39-year-old was suffering from persistent pains in his leg and the wound was not healing fully.

In January 2019 he had to have another serious operation and his lower leg was amputated.

Kieran’s local club Aghada GAA Club have also set up a 5KM walk as a fundraiser along the scenic Rostellan Peoples Path.

While trying to recover from the amputation, he started experiencing bad back pains, and last week his family were all devastated to find out that his cancer had spread.

Kieran is a fighter, he is back on chemo treatment this week battling Ewing’s Sarcoma for the third time in 18 months.

Kieran’s friends have set up this campaign as funds are needed to help Kieran with all aspects on further treatment and care, as well as potential prosthetic costs following his lower leg amputation and to help support his family.
