There has been a disruption in the Luas Green Line due to an unknown incident in Milltown.

All service has been halted from Ballally to St Stephen's Green.

The company recently tweeted that the "Greenline is operating with a limited service from Broombridge St Stephens Green and from Balally to Bridesglen.

"There is no service from Balally to St Stephens Green in either direction."

Details of the described incident that caused delays have not been released yet at this time.

In response, Dublin Bus Services will be accepting Luas tickets for the duration of the delays.

The Luas operators assure the public that all Red Line services are operating normally, and they apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result.

Ireland has been anxiously anticipating Pope Francis' upcoming visit, and this woman has something to say about it.

Helen McNamara recently shared a powerful testimony about her experience with the Catholic Church and titled it an “Open letter to Pope Francis”.

The aggrieved mother shared her journey from womb to womanhood, explaining that she had been born inside a religious institution in the village of Castlepollard in Co. Westmeath.

The woman was a 'nameless' baby when she was adopted by a loving family, who christened her 'Helen'.

Now a mum with a family of her own, she returned to her birthplace to seek answers about her biological mother. “Forty-seven years later, I went to the exact same address in Castlepollard,” Helen wrote.

Now owned by the state, she was led to the chapel nearby where an employee explained: “how things had worked in Castlepollard in the days of the nuns.”

Young women felt compelled to give up their babies to “wealthy Irish women and foreign people” or families simply wanting to provide a safe and loving home.

After hearing the hardship of women in this position, Helen completely understood when her own birth mother, Bridget, confessed that she never told a soul of her existence.

Bridget was too terrified to even consider meeting her grown daughter.

And Helen has some words to say about her mother's experience to not only Pope Francis but to those in attendance of his visit as well.

She dubbed the church’s acts “disgustingly shameful” and called for more than an apology: “I just wonder what good an apology from you is to the thousands of victims of the institution of the Catholic Church.”

Helen calls out Pope Francis for his €30 million, all-expenses-paid visit to Dublin and asks why the church, that she claims makes over €4 billion, cannot fund its own “publicity trip”.

The mum continues by shifting her focus to those who have obtained tickets to see the pope. She asks if the "half a million planning to attend" have forgotten about “the baby trafficking, the systemic demoralisation and shaming of women for doing something as natural as eating and breathing.

“Have they forgotten about the divide the behaviour and teachings of this church caused in our land, and most importantly, have the WOMEN attending this event, have they absolutely no soul at all.”

While Helen may be spot on naming the atrocious acts the Catholic Church has been accused of, not everyone agrees with her attack on the women planning to be present for his visit.

One commenter replied: “I do also believe Francis is a good man. Much has improved but more can be done including helping victims. The law must also step up to the mark in all of this.”

He argued that wanting to see the pope does not mean that people condone the church’s past actions.

Helen concluded her letter with a call to action, demanding that Pope Francis take action instead of merely apologising to the public.

“Why don’t you, Pope Francis, offer to fund counselling to the thousands and thousands of people who have been affected by the churches actions. We don’t need meaningless apologies [..]

“We need for you to help repair the damage done to the victims, and this is best done by counselling which can then hopefully help them to learn to forgive – both themselves and your church.”

Many have called Helen's bold letter a “nail on the absolute head” and “well said”.

Like Bridget, women and mums have been deeply affected by the horrific institutions and conditions for young girls during those times.

A few months ago in June, 230 Magdalene survivors travelled from all over the world for commemoration. The survivors were finally able to share their tragic experiences and start their process of healing as a community.

“We're being heard after all these years,” one woman said.

It is inspiring to see victims of clerical abuse, like those mentioned in Helen’s letter, band together, and start healing old wounds.

The pope’s visit has caused widespread controversy about the Catholic Church’s actions and its interwoven threads throughout the country’s past.

Helen’s words have moved many, contributing to heightened tension nationwide, especially as we wait to see how the public will react to Pope Francis’ arrival.

Netflix, we knew you wouldn't let us down.

The streaming device has just dropped some really good news – and we're in desperate need of it after they decided to not to renew Everything Sucks and they chose to give Insatiable the green light.

Their surprise hit, the darkly comedic The End of The F**cking World is coming back for a second helping – and we couldn't be more excited.

The Emmy-nominated show hit all the right notes with viewers – mainly down to the flawless casting of the two young leads – Jessie Barden (Alyssa) and Alex Lawther (James) as well as their pitch-perfect chemistry.

I binged it in two days – and would have done it in one but it was just too good/off the wall – and I wanted to savour it.

If that isn't a sign of a great f**king show, I don't know what is.

According to Buzzfeed, the second season announcement of was made at the Edinburgh TV Festival.

The British black comedy was based on Charles Forsman's graphic novel and had eight episodes in Season 1.

This time, the episodes will be based again on material written by Forsman and Netflix have tweeted confirming that Charlie Covell, who wrote the first season will be returning.

However according to IndieWireshe may have to use her imagination for the next season though, as Alex Lawther has stated earlier this year, “it was based on a comic book series by Charles Forsman and the comics end where our episodes end.”

Jessie Barden celebrated the news on social media with the caption, ''please break Instagram'' an a kiss emoji.

We were raging when the first season ended on a cliffhanger – what the hell happened to James?!

So are we ready to find out where our two teenage psychopaths are now?

Make that a F**K YES.

Things are looking rosy for Kirsten Mate Maher this morning, in light of her win last night.

The 21-year-old student and part-time model was crowned the 2018 Rose of Tralee.

Representing Waterford, Kirsten was a hot favourite to win the contest.

The student is the third mixed-race woman to secure the title.

Before her, was 1998 winner Luzveminda O’Sullivan and Clare Kambamettu, who took the crown in 2010.

Since the humble beginnings of the show in 1959, Kirsten is the first African-Irish woman to win the competition.

The 21-year-old couldn't believe she had won as her parents joined her on stage, she confessed she was "speechless."

The Rose works in a boutique in Tramore, Co Waterford, but earlier this week she discovered that Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) was waiting for her.

Kirsten had been accepted to study Multimedia and Application Development at the university.

However, in light of her win, WIT might have to wait another year.

“I certainly did not think it would be me. I haven’t clicked any buttons yet. I might have to click on the defer button,” she explained.

“I haven’t thought this far ahead. I really haven’t. I don’t know what I am going to do yet. I’ll have to make a few plans.”

Kirsten parents met in Waterford when her father, Kwalo Mate, an army officer from Zambia, was training in the Curragh.

He bumped into his future wife while enjoying some down time in Waterford.

Despite her father returning to Zambia before her birth and not reuniting with Kirsten until she was almost two, the pair have a special bond.

“I still have the teddy bear he gave me,” she said.

The 21-year-old takes pride in her Zambian heritage but has expressed her desire for the press to not focus on the colour of her skin.

“It is something you touch off but you don’t dwell on too much. There is a lot more to me than the colour of my skin and my hair,” she said.

The student is planning to keep in touch with the culture and her Zambian relatives were even tuning into the Irish programme.

“My Dad was over in Zambia last month and he was filling them in what the Rose of Tralee is. I don’t know what they are going to think when they find out about this. They are probably all in bed now.

“I like to stay in touch with my Zambian culture. I can’t wait to go back there. It’s the first thing on the list this year.”

Congratulations to Kirsten! And well done to all the 57 roses.

The new series of The Great British Bake Off kicks off next week, and while we're still not over the fact that Mary Berry is no longer part of it, we're pretty excited about this year's series.

That's because they're bringing in a new addition to the show, one which, we're sure, plenty of people will be living for: vegan week.

Meet our new batch of bakers #starts28th

A post shared by Paul Hollywood (@paul.hollywood) on

Explaining the reason for it, judge Paul Hollywood said that they wanted something a little different for the new series, and considering the huge growth in veganism in recent times, vegan week was just a natural fit.

"We wanted something different and something to represent what was happening in this country. Veganism was something that seems to be growing, and we wanted to represent it on the Bake Off this year, and that's why it's in," the baker said at a press event.

Neither Paul nor fellow judge Prue Leith are vegans, and have said that the vegan bakes were judged just as they would "something conventional".

"You can't judge it and say, 'It's okay for a vegan'. It has to be good. Period. And that's how we judged it – we were surprised."

Morning x

A post shared by Paul Hollywood (@paul.hollywood) on

The judges encouraged vegans or anyone thinking of becoming a vegan to watch the show, insisting that it is a week not to be missed.

"If you're a vegan, or you're thinking about it, and just worried about how it's going to change your life, watch it and see."

The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 on Tuesday, 28th August at 8pm.

It's time to get your sesh cap on.

The bar of the year 2018 has been revealed and we can't wait to give it a try.

Cork is not only Ed Sheeran's favourite place to gig, but now it's home to the best bar in the country.

Cask Cocktail bar in the city was crowned champ, beating out some stiff competition.

Last night, the bar claimed the top prize as judges assembled in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road to announce all the winners.

For months, a panel have been on an epic nationwide pub crawl, grading and rating bars and pubs in a number of areas – and they seem to be impressed with this year's standard.

Despite the amount of great places, there could only be one winner.

One judge, Rafael Agapito gave Shemazing all the details and it was sickeningly close.

"Picking the winner was definitely the toughest part, the standard has improved so much, we had to return to some venues for re-evaluation.

I can’t disclose the runner up, but it was a matter of one mere point."

Ah here lads, that's just too close!

That being said, Cask is a worthy winner.

The hospitality consultant said since the bar has opened, they have been "stacking up awards."

"Their talented team led by Andy Ferreira is always innovating and pushing boundaries. What impresses me the most is the attention they give to non alcoholic creations," Rafael said.

Since the bar is renowned for their cocktails, we asked Rafael what cocktail we should try out.

His reply was the Fine and Dandy – and it looks like perfection in a glass.

Now if cocktails ain't your jam – don't worry.

The judges were marking establishments for a whole host of categories, which include the best bar for gin and craft beer.

For us gin lovers, this is a place you need to put on your list.

So who was the lucky winner, I hear you cry?! – it was the Gin Library at Galgorm Resort & Spa in Antrim that snatched Gin Bar of the Year.

"The library at Galgorm Resort has a great selection, and the bartenders are always at hand to help you pick the best suitable gin for your palate," said Rafael.

Take notes now, as the judge explained that quantity doesn't mean quality.

"When picking a category winner, we look for expertise rather than quantity. The bar with most gins on offer is not necessarily the best gin bar," he added.

As for the best craft beer, a Galway bar sealed the deal and it's not hard to see why.

From their Instagram alone, the newly opened bar, Caribou seems to have it sussed.

Commenting on the win, Rafael said:

"Caribou in Galway has also made the craft beer scene more inclusive and exciting, by offering a world class selection of beers in a fun and relaxed atmosphere."

As for the best pub in the capital, Devitts on Camden Street claimed top dog for the scoops.

Now you have no excuse to venture out and try some seriously wonderful Irish pubs and bars.

It's only Tuesday, but we are already living for the weekend to try out these places – Sláinte!

This summer, millions of viewers were enthralled as Love Island aired six days a week, as nations united to watch the contestants find love, lust and heartbreak in their picturesque villa.

However, along with some complaints about body diversity, some viewers were disappointed with the singular representation of the spectrum of human sexuality portrayed on screen.

All couples in the house were straight, male-female couples, which doesn't accurately represent the romantic needs of the entire population.

A post shared by Courtney Act (@courtneyact) on

With acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community rightfully increasing as society comes around to the groundbreaking concept that love is love, it would have been amazing for a mainstream show to showcase these relationships.

Luckily, a new show is en route to give the spotlight to arguably one of the most vilified sexual preferences.

The Bi Life, commissioned by E!, is a dating show for bisexuals, pansexuals, fluid and questioning contestants from the UK. The contestants will call a Barcelona villa home and literally everyone is a potential mate based on sexual preference.

The show will be presented by the delightful Courtney Act, of Ru Paul's Drag Race.

'It’s high time there was a dating show for the large number of young people today, like me, who are attracted to more than one gender,' Act told Variety.

'In 2018 we know that sexuality is fluid, and sharing the stories and experiences, the laughter and the lovemaking of young bi people is so important. So get ready to see the true stories of bisexual singles, who are the largest part of the LGBTQ+ community but the least known.'

Bi erasure is a huge issue for many members of the community, as other mainstream media and entertainment platforms ignore the sexual identity when it comes to representation.

In fact, the hit, but highly criticised, Netflix show Insatiable recently came under fire for bi erasure, after characters uttered the phrases 'Bisexuals are liked demons or aliens. They don’t exist,' and 'Bi is just a stop on the train to Gaysville.'

The Bi Life will rin for ten, hour-long episodes, and is set to air on E! in the U.K. and Ireland in October.

Cher is the Queen of Everything and the Coolest Person of All  Time.

Yes, those titles all deserve capital letters – c'mon, we know it's true.

Cher has become an icon to a whole new generation of movie-fans, thanks to pop culture references on social media.

Her recent role as Meryl Streep's mum in summer feel-good flick Mamma Mia 2 has only cemented her status as one of Hollywood's legends.

And then she went and became even more amazing.

How, you ask?

Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter she had to face ageist comments when she turned 40. Yes, 40

Cher spoke about how she had been feeling apprehensive about hitting the milestone in May 1986.

She was working on The Witches of Eastwick at the time and the director, George Miller called her with some unpleasant news.

“[He] said, ‘I just wanted to call and tell you that I don’t want you in my movie and Jack Nicholson and I think you’re too old and you’re not sexy.’ Good morning, 40!”

While Cher says now that  “tears started streaming down my face” at his awful comments, the man kept banging on.

“He didn't want to hang up,” she said.

“He just wanted to tell me everything: ‘I hate the way you walk, I hate the way you talk, I don’t like the colour of your hair, I don’t like the colour of your eyes.”

Eh, Cher – he's clearly a a*sehole.

Obvs, our gal Cher wasn't gonna put up with it.

“So finally, I was like, ‘OK, look motherf***er,’” she said.

“Yeah, I said the whole thing. I said, ‘You didn't find me under a rock. I was nominated for an Academy Award for Silkwood. And I got the Cannes Film Festival award for best actress for Mask, so goodbye!’”

As she took home the gong for Best Actress at the Academy Award for Moonstruck the following year and more than three decades later she’s making movies and selling out concerts…we think that maybe, just maybe she's having the last laugh.

Chanel's new male makeup line is taking over the Internet as it sparks hot debates about gender roles in the beauty industry.

Everyone seems to have mixed feelings about it, some praising its originality and others disappointed with its specifically 'male' label.

The French beauty company has made waves in the beauty industry by launching its gender-targeted line called ‘Boy De Chanel’.

The male makeup industry has been booming in Asia due to popular beauty bloggers, and this could be why Chanel has chosen to launch in South Korea first, before going global.

The new men’s line will include three main products:

1. A liquid foundation with spf 25

2. A matte lip balm enriched with jojoba oil and shea butter

3.  A waterproof, twist-up brow pencil (available in four shades)

The products channel a sophisticated, sleek finish, promoting minimalism for men in the most suave fashion.

The Chanel line, Boy Chanel, is allegedly named for Gabrielle Chanel's first love, Boy Capel.

The company commented on the new line saying: “Lines, colours, attitudes, gestures…There is no absolutely feminine or masculine prerequisite: Style alone defines the person we wish to be.

“By creating Boy de Chanel, its first makeup line for men, Chanel reaffirms the ever-changing codes of an unchanging vision: Beauty is not a matter of gender, it is a matter of style.”

Many people agree with the new makeup line’s forward thinking. One comment raved: “It’s lovely to see something specific for men.”

However, despite the company’s gender-neutral emphasis, male beauty influencers seem to hold some resignations for the new line.

Renowned beauty blogger, Jake-Jamie, told Cosmopolitan: “I think it's amazing that brands like Chanel are bringing makeup for men to the forefront of people's minds, however I personally prefer a genderless approach to makeup. I just wish we lived in a world whereby gender boxes didn't exist.

“Why does it have to be a boy's eyebrow pencil? It's just an eyebrow pencil! Having said that, I do understand that not all men are as open about wearing makeup as perhaps I am, and this could give them the confidence to purchase makeup without feeling ashamed of doing so."

Another commenter suggested that “rather than this, I’d prefer to see more neutral packaging and more Male imagery featured across makeup marketing in general.”

So, while reviews of the new announcement are mixed, we look forward to trying out the new products for ourselves.

Reportedly, Boy De Chanel will originally be released on September 1st in South Korea.

It will then be available internationally in November via their website.
