Last night, a number of areas and roads were introduced with a new, slower speed limit.

Dublin City Council’s Environment and Transportation Department announced the news on Friday, with mixed reactions from the public.

The new limit will generally not effect arterial roads in and out of the city centre, but instead, has been introduced in residential areas.

If this is an April Fool's joke we're going to be very annoyed…

HB Ice Cream has announced today that we can say so-long to the Iceberger, because apparently, they're being discontinued.

Yep, shock, horror.

A spokesperson for the company said today: “It’s with regret that we say goodbye to this all-time classic – the decision to delist Iceberger is one we know will sadden ice cream lovers across Ireland.

"Icebergers will be available in select stores nationwide for a limited time only until stocks last.”

Speaking to Hunger Magazine, Vanessa, who is promoting her new music, said: "I don't think I could go back. I've got so much that I want to do. There's no space mentally for me to go back.

"As time goes on, I know it just wouldn't feel right for me."

There were rumours of the girls getting back together last year, but now as Una embarks on her country music journey and, with Frankie admitting she doesn't get excited from the music anymore, it's not looking likely.

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather's fight has been highly anticipated all year now.

However, nobody really knows if it's going to go ahead or not.

There has been varying opinions from both sides, and with the UFC getting involved too, nobody really knows who to listen to anymore.

Conor's coach, John Kavanagh, seemed to clear a few things up this morning, with many news outlets reporting that Conor and Floyd are going to announce their big-money fight next week.

Coach Kavanagh wrote on Twitter this morning: "Finally the news is confirmed. Conor v Mayweather. Let's do this!"

But, it's April Fool's Day… so, do we believe him?

A source told the Irish Sun, "Both sides have agreed a fee, date and venue.  It's all ready to be announced early next week."

We'll let the day pass before we believe anything!

We all know we should drink eight glasses of water a day, but in reality few of us manage to actually hit that target on the regular.

But if you knew your sex life would enjoy a boost based on your H2O consumption, you'd probably be more likely to drink up, right?

Well, according to those in the know. when you skimp on your water intake, you run the risk of a drier vagina which, unsurprisingly, makes for a less stimulating time in the bedroom.

"The skin of the vagina is susceptible to dryness if not taken care of properly," women's health expert, Sherry Ross, explained while speaking to Glamour magazine.

And while downing bottles of water will apparently do wonders for our sex life, we'd also do well to remember that no body part is less important than another when it comes to care and maintenance.

Using a comparison we should hope everyone already knows, she added: "A healthy vagina needs the same hygienic attention as any other part of the body, similar to the way we care for our face."

Well, you heard her, ladies. Drink up, and get down.

We all tell our girlfriends our greatest anecdotes from work, but how would you describe your job to a stranger?

Twitter users have taken to the social media site to discuss their occupations, but they're doing it in the worst possible way, much to our amusement.

The tweets are explaining what people really do all day when it comes down to it, and some of the explanations are truly hilarious.

Take the Reverend, who describes herself by saying: "I've married many men, and I know where all the bodies are buried."

Some of the occupations are complete mysteries to us, while others are more obvious.

We're pretty sure that "I pick strangers up in a white van" is an ambulance driver, while "I create imaginary friends and send them on epic adventures" has to be a film writer.

There are some pretty funny occupation explanations in the tag, which is currently trending.

How would you badly describe your job?

If you're the type of person who regularly wakes from a short nap feeling like you could take on the world, then the latest news from the world of science may not surprise you.

According to researchers at the University of Hertfordshire, people who take naps are generally more contented than their counterparts who fight the urge to grab 40 winks.

Commenting on the findings, psychology professor Richard Wiseman said: "Previous research has shown that naps of under 30 minutes make you more focused, productive and creativity."

"These new findings suggest the tantalising possibility that you can also become happier by just taking a short nap," he added.

However, it's important to note that the longer you nap does not guarantee more contented periods in the aftermath.

Following a study conducted at the Edinburgh International Science Festival, researchers established that 'short nappers' were happier than 'long nappers' or, indeed, 'no nappers'.

So, go nap… but don't pass the 30-minute mark.

As opening credits go, Sex and the City is pretty memorable.

From the iconic tutu to the snapshot into a busy New York street, the guys behind the hit HBO series definitely nailed it.

But it looks like it took a few versions if recent footage doing the rounds online is anything to go by.

A 35-second clip, which was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, shows the writer in an almost identical set-up, but without the trademark tutu and unfortunate showering.

Take a look at this…

We've all heard of the classic 'dine and dash', right?

But who knew faking a proposal and chowing down on your (undeserved) congratulatory dessert was a thing?! Well, it is in Texas.

19-year-old Cati and 17-year-old Alex have made waves in the Twitosphere this week when they revealed they schemed their way to a free dessert after Alex 'proposed' to his mate in a high-end restaurant.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Cati said: "We just had to act like a couple the entire time. Everyone believed us and everyone clapped."

Cati and Alex are uber-pleased with themselves, and it seems Twitter users are pretty annoyed they didn't think of it first.

With 23,000 retweets and 47,000 likes, the public are all over this one.

"This is honestly so freaking genius," wrote one while another added: "Taking notes, we r so doing this next time we go out." (sic)

And the fake couple aren't stopping any time soon, with Cati adding: "We’re thinking about doing it other places too."

As you would…

Body-shaming is never okay, whether someone is being branded too fat or not curvy enough.

Successful Irish TV personality Vogue Williams has felt the sting of body-shamers recently, but has responded in the best possible way.

"Getting comments about my weight again," the DJ tweeted.

"Yes I've put on 3.5kg, not bad considering I haven't been able to walk in 2 months…now go away," she finished, dismissing the haters.

The Dubliner severely injured her knee while training for Channel 4's The Jump earlier this year, and has been on crutches ever since, so understandably maintaining her usual physique probably hasn't been high on her to-do list while she, you know, recovers from a serious sport injury.

Vogue's fans were understandably shocked by the cruelty of fat-shaming, and offered her words of support.

"Some people have nothing better to be doing," said one.

We're glad Vogue put the body-shamers in their place with her tweet.
