Travelling the world is the stuff of dreams.

Some people sacrifice everything in exchange for the trip of a lifetime, which is exactly what Jonathan Kubben Quinonez did.

The Mexican-native quit his job and sold his car to begin his epic journey, but was sad to leave one very special person behind.

The wanderluster is massively fond of his mum, and he knew that she would be worrying about his wellbeing.

He decided that he needed a way to let her know he was safe and well while embarking on his global expedition.

And so, Instagram account @momimfine was born.

Now the account updates his mum and his 267,000 followers on his travels, and his message to his mum is always on show.

Whether it's written across his palms while scuba diving, emblazoned on a pizza in Italy, or scrawled on his signature sign atop a mountain, Jonathan's mum is the most in-the-loop woman around.

Jonathan told The Lad Bible that it all began when he took his first trip to Cuba.

'When I arrived, with the time difference, the Communist party blocking the internet and the prices of phone calls, it was difficult to communicate with my friends and family,' he told the site.

'Mums are always worried. Especially mine.'

'It was complicated to be in contact with her so I decided to give a positive message and show her that the world is a beautiful place and that I am fine.'

'I started to take pictures in funny or scary situations with my sign. Whatever the situation was, I always found a way to give my message.'

The message paid off, as Jonathan now travels the world with ease thanks to his travel influencer lifestyle brought on by the sign.

And we're sure his mum is only delighted for him .

Axl Rose and Tom Jones might be in a bit of trouble after a party they hosted in London.

The performers were partying at the Chiltern Firehouse in the city, which officially closes at 3am, but it seems Axl and Tom didn't stick to that deadline.

Two council officers were called at 4.30am to shut down the party, yet the singers didn't listen and kept going for another hour and a half.

After further complaints, the officials returned and waited until everyone left the venue at 6am.

According to The Sun, Axl threw the get-together and many celebs were in attendance, including Kate Moss' ex-husband, Jamie Hince.

A source told the publication: "The music was pumping. There was screaming, with boozy celebs cheering the fight from Las Vegas, which didn't start until 4.20am UK time."

"Axl was rooting for the US fighter and wasn't happy about noise complaints. The bar manager tried to argue it was a private party.

"The Westminster council officials were made to wait outside by security. Management eventually turned the music off but the shouting continued."

It seems like everyone had a ball, so!

The clock is ticking, with 24 hours to go before Kim Kardashian unleashes her long-awaited contouring kits on the masses.

The mum-of-two recently announced the conception of KKW Beauty, Kim's very own offering to the cosmetics industry.

Kicking it all off is a contouring kit, which, lets face it, Kim could have released years ago and we'd have lapped up.

A post shared by KKWBEAUTY (@kkwbeauty) on

The kit is dropping tomorrow, and Kim has given fans a sneak peek on the brand's new Instagram page.

The kit, which comes with contour an highlight, comes in the form of a stick, with a separate double-ended blending tool.

The business woman is 'trying to mirror skin care with makeup,' in her new line.

A post shared by KKWBEAUTY (@kkwbeauty) on

The reality TV star spoke to WWD about Kardahian-Jenner comparisons, after social media users made reference to the fact that Kim's teen sister Kylie Jenner already has her own extremely successful beauty business.

'It’s going to be a different vibe,' she told the magazine.

'It’s not going to be a full colour cosmetics (line) with shadows and all of that to start.'

A post shared by KKWBEAUTY (@kkwbeauty) on

Keeping with the skin-care theme, the star's next drop is set to be an anti-ageing concealer.

Kim fans, set your alarms, because the kits are launching tomorrow June 21 and we'd bet our place in the virtual queue that they're going to sell out fast.

There has been much jovial banter about grabbing the gang for a bag of cans at the canal over the weekend, as the weather reached temperatures Irish people are only accustomed to on a package holiday.

The hashtag #bagofcans was trending on Twitter, as sunburnt (or sensibly sunscreened) revellers took to their various parks and waterfronts to leisurely consume cold beverages.

One Supervalu in Portumna jumped on the hype, and created a bag of cans of their own.

For a pretty reasonable €10.00, outdoor adventurers could get five cool cans of beer to crack open.

The can selection is made up of loose cans which were damaged in transit or came loose from multi-packs.

Just because a can is damaged doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to get drank, am I right?

We think this is a pretty epic idea, however some on social media feel that the joke going mainstream has ended its hilarity.

'We've reached peak #bagofcans and it saddens me a little. Your da is now in on the joke. It's over,' said one.

Lorde's second album has just dropped, but unfortunately for the singer, the press and public are currently more interested in remarks she made about her friendship with Taylor Swift.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the New Zealand-native attempted to explain the dynamic of her relationship with the Out of the Woods singer, but she didn't exactly choose her words carefully.

Referring to the fact that Taylor's high-profile status makes standard BFF activities a little difficult, Lorde made an ill-advised comparison to autoimmune conditions.

"It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies," she surmised in a particularly odd analogy.

"There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do," she continued. "There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease."

And Twitter is unsurprisingly far from impressed with the comparison.

Taking to social media to berate the singer for her 'insensitive' comments, members of the public wasted no time highlighting the incongruity of the singer's questionable comparison.

Following the backlash, Lorde took to Twitter to both apologise and clarify her remarks with Twitter users who demanded Lorde acknowledge the insensitivity of her comments.

"Didn't mention Taylor, but regardless, I f*cked up and that was really insensitive. I'm sorry," she wrote in response to one person's outrage.

The world is obsessed with fidget spinners at the moment, and there isn't a kid in the country who doesn't have one of these nifty little toys stashed in their pencil case at this very moment.

The toys have been adopted by the online beauty community, with MUA James Charles using the spinning gadgets to create a killer contour.

Now, YouTuber Bunny Meyer, or Grav3yardGirl as she is known to fans, has incorporated them into her hair care routine.

A post shared by grav3yardgirl (@grav3yardgirl) on

Out of curiosity, the YouTuber decided to test the toys to see if they could be used like hair rollers to create luscious wavy locks.

She ordered a bumper-pack of 100 of them, but only ended up needing 18 to complete the hair care trial.

Starting off with wet hair, Bunny wrapped small sections of hair around each curve of the spinners.

Using bobby pins to hold the whole thing together, she blasted the look with a hair dryer to set it.

A post shared by grav3yardgirl (@grav3yardgirl) on

The result?

Well, it actually kind of worked if you're into Kesha-eaque wavy locks.

However, Bunny did comment that the toys were a literal pain in the neck thanks to their weight.

Check out the final look for yourself;

Irish beef has been marked with the US seal of approval.

The US Department of Agriculture has awarded the quality shield to our beef, which means it has finally been granted approval to be marked as a product of Ireland in American shops.

Bord Bia has said that this is a great step for Irish agriculture, as the beef will identify as Irish to US consumers.

This announcement comes on the first day of a week-long trade mission with the US.

The beef will have the USDA quality mark which guarantees that it has been raised on more than an 80 per cent grass diet; out to pasture for 6-8 months a year on from a sustainable, fully traceable quality-assured farm; and has been raised without the use of growth hormones.

Speaking to RTÉ News, the Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed said that the development is "significant."

Mr Creed added that after his meetings with President Trump's trade representatives, it was "abundantly clear" his administration was "settling in still."

Let's face it, no one likes doing laundry. It's tedious, it's time-consuming, and it's the reason 'the chair' exists.

And while, thankfully, there are some garments which don't need as much laundering as others, 'the chair' rule most certainly does not apply to everything.

Take bath towels, for example.

According to a microbiologist at the New York University School of Medicine, if you're going to be judicious about any one item in your laundry basket, you need to be judicious about your bath towel.

Speaking to Business Insider, Philip Tierno considers bath towels a breeding ground for germs as they contain all the elements needed for the creation for microbial life: water, warm temperatures, and plenty of oxygen.

As a result of this, Philip advises that we wash our bath towels after every third use, but that's only if it's been left to properly dry after each use. If it hasn't been left to dry, then it's likely to start to smell which is a clear indicator it's crawling with microbial life.

"If there is odour coming from the towel, wherever there is odour, there are microbes growing, so it should be washed," he explains.

As a result of microbial growth, you are likely undoing all your good work in the shower by drying yourself with a towel covered in bacteria.

Common sense would have you throwing your towel into the wash basket on the regular, but it sounds like we all need a little reminding on this front.

"The idea is to be prudent and to be aware," he urges.

Loud and clear Philip, loud and clear.

We've all been slathering ourselves in the stuff for months, but it turns out that coconut oil may not be as healthy as we thought.

When the versatile oil picked up in popularity, we thought we'd been sent a saving grace.

We've been using it for cooking, moisturising, hair conditioning and even teeth whitening.

A post shared by malibluemymind (@malibluemymind) on

However, new research has found that the oil may not be as healthy as we once thought.

The American Heart Association recently released a report advising against the use of coconut oil.

The organisation released a study in which they rank fatty oils and cooking aids in relation to cardiovascular health.

Coconut oil fared rather badly over all, with the AHA stating that 82 per cent of the fat in coconut oil is saturated.

'Because coconut oil increases LDL cholesterol, a cause of cardiovascular disease, and has no known offsetting favourable effects, we advise against the use of coconut oil,' the AHA said in the advisory.

Before you dump your jars of the stuff, bear in mind that like everything, moderation is key.

'Have some coconut oil, have some olive oil, some butter, some grapeseed oil,' dietician Abby Langar told Global News Canada

'Don’t obsess over oils and limit yourself to only one.'

We don't need to be told twice!

Well, in news you'd only hear in Ireland… a Trinity student wants to send an electric shock to your brain, and in return will give you a KitKat.

The study will last around two and a half hours, and involves sending short bursts of electrical brain stimulation and magnetic brain stimulation to your head during a once-off session.

And if you think he's just doing this for kicks, there's actually a logical reason behind it.

The purpose of the Irish lad's research is to "refine a novel method of brain stimulation called transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS).

"This method can be used to study the role of various brain regions, particularly those involved in movement control," his official document reads.

And while we basically don't understand what that means, he seems to be doing it for a good cause, right?

Right?!

The student shared a post on Reddit saying that he will "provide tea, biscuits, and perhaps even a KitKat” for taking part.

However, one interested Reddit user asked if it will mess up their hair, which he confirmed it would… so you know, maybe we'll take part in the next study.

We've had avolattes and avocado art and we survived, but the notions radiating from the latest viral food trend has us shook.

Whether you spread it on toast or smother your pancakes in it, there is no denying that Nutella is an exceptionally delicious chocolate treat.

One of the most satisfying ways to consume the hazelnut spread is to simply slurp it directly off the spoon,

A post shared by browncardigan.com (@browncardigan) on

A sneaky spoonful is heaven on earth, but we'd never pay a fiver for the pleasure of doing so.

After all, you'd get an entire jar for that price, so why would anyone in their right minds think that the public would part ways with five quid for a paltry sampling of the stuff.

This is exactly what one Melbourne Cafe, Spoonful of Sugar, has allegedly tried to make 'a thing.'

The cafe, which is said to be hosting a pop-up store in a secret location soon, also boasts spoonfuls of peanut butter and jelly and butterscotch on the menu.

Some foodie fans are critical of the Spoonful of Sugar concept, speculating that the cafe is a bit of a hoax.

However, the owner of the page confirmed to Buzzfeed that the cafe was happening.

Bit of a pisstake?

We think so, otherwise the hipster food trends of 2017 are getting out of hand.
