The pursuit of a full Repeal of the 8th Amendment from our Constitution is one of the most pressing issues facing Irish women today.

The conversation is ongoing, and while many don Repeal jumpers and march in rallies to have our voices heard loud and proud, it is hugely important that the narrative is woven into our day-to-day conversations too, and that women feel confident to express their opinion on the matter.

The Hunreal Issues, a platform dedicated to making politics and social issues more accessible to a wider audience, are taking the topic nationwide, and the perfect excuse for having the chats? Well, over brunch of course.

The platform will be going for Sunday brunch in cities across Ireland, and will be toasting to the reasons why we need to repeal the 8th over eggs Benedict and Aperol Spritz.

The tour will be making stops in Dublin, Galway, Cork and Limerick over the summer.

Snapchat Superstar James Kavanagh will be on hand to lead the brunch chats, along with comedian Joanne McNally.

'Abortions are not an impulse buy … they're not a set of skis in the middle aisle in Lidl… we have to be trusted with the autonomy of our own bodies,' said Joanne.

Along the tour, the road show will be joined by podcasters It Galz and Tropical Popical’s very own Andrea Horan.

'Can't wait to go on the road with HunReal,' said James Kavanagh. 'I literally won't rest until the 8th is repealed.

To me, it's mad that we even have to 'work' to get this over the line, but sure this is it.'

'And this is exactly what this tour is about; working with each other to be able to explain to our friends & family why repealing this is so important – for everyone.'

'So if you need to brush up on your 8th knowledge and connect with like-minded repealers, get your ass to one of the stops,' he finished.

Here's the definitive list of all of the pit stops the tour will be taking, so snap up your ticket to your closest location:

  • The The Glasshouse in Galway (2 July);

  • Soho in Cork (23 July);

  • House in Limerick (13 Aug)

  • The Dean in Dublin (27 Aug).

The tour is also aimed at members beauty industry, a decision influenced by the Illinois law that requires all cosmetologists to undergo training to identify signs of domestic violence because of the close relationship most women have with their beautician.

The Hunreal Issues wants to share information, stories and facts on the impact the 8th Amendment has on the women of Ireland, and that's why they have committed to taking their brunch tour far and wide.

'So many women in Ireland have had an abortion, everyone knows someone – a friend, sister, client, hairdresser, aunt- who has had an abortion but has been too afraid to admit to this essential healthcare procedure because of the stigma and shame that have been associated with it for way too long,' said The Hunreal Issues.

'There are also way too many women who have lost control of their medical decisions over their own bodies(!) once they become pregnant with wanted pregnancies too'.

'The hope is that by having these frank and open conversations, women will feel more comfortable shaking off the shackles of shame and proudly call for a full Repeal of the 8th Amendment from our Constitution.'

We're extremely excited for this powerful conversational concept to hit the road, and you can snap up tickets for the Galway show now right here

As temperatures soar across Ireland and the UK, many office workers have been tasked with finding outfits that are both office appropriate and suitable for the heat.

With highs of 34 degrees in London yesterday you can understand why one 20-year-old office worker opted for a pair of smart shorts over his normal shirt and slacks combination.

Taking to Twitter, Joey Barge asked his followers, "If women can wear skirts/dresses at work can I wear smart shorts like so?"

However, his attempt to be comfortable at work proved unsuccessful when he was sent home less than half an hour later for not following the company's strict dress code.

Joey said: "The office is so hot and I sweat so much and feel uncomfortable."

"I'm fuming. A quarter of the office are wearing vest tops and skirts/dresses…"

So, what did he do next?

Went home and put on one of his mother's dresses, of course.

We have to hand it to him , he really embraced the new look.

Joey predicted he would be sent home again, but much to his surprise, his stunt actually seemed to have work.

Or at least kind of.

Late on that day he returned to Twitter to post an office email that had been sent out, outlining the new dress code.

Not all heroes were capes – but a lot of them wear dresses.

We're used to seeing those 'motivational' before and after body shots plastered all over Instagram, promoting the ideal that thinner is better and that being a certain shape will make you happier.

Emily Bador, who battled with her body to maintain a typically model-esque physique, has since embraced a healthier lifestyle and is challenging this concept with a snap of her own, but her post has a difference.

The stunning model posts powerful body positivity posts on the regular, but her latest 'before and after' style post is particularly harrowing.

'2 years, 2/3 dress sizes up and about 5/6 inches different waist measurements. and you know what? I'm finally, FINALLY content with my body,' she began.

'I don't have panic attacks pre leaving the house anymore, I eat whatever I want and I don't feel guilty after, and i'm not in the gym every f****** day.'

'It's not the body you see idolised in the media, but I've never felt so confident.'

'Your mental health is so important, don't let society tell you that you need to look a certain way to feel beautiful, you are absolute fire and it's not worth compromising your physical or mental heath to fit society's bullshit Eurocentric beauty standards.'

A post shared by e m i l y bador (@darth_bador) on

'When I took the photo on the left I was on holiday in Croatia, too light headed to go out with my mates because I refused to eat carbs, I refused to drink booze because of the calories and spent all week inside because I felt too horrific to do anything,' she said, reflecting on the damaging process she put her body and mind through to stay so slim.

'And the photo on the right I leave my house every day, work so f******* hard, I go to the gym twice/three times a week, eat carbs, enjoy everything and don't feel awful about myself?'

'I don't really know what my conclusion was gonna be other than just remember you look f****** bomb no matter what, and as long as you feel good about yourself and you take care of your physical and mental health that's all that matters,' she concluded.

All we can say is thank you Emily, for reminding us that our mental health should be our top priority, and that all bodies are completely and utterly beautiful.

iPhone users of Ireland are loving the new Irish accent option for Apple's Siri.

In order to change the accent, you must go to settings > Siri > language, and change to English (Ireland).

So, who is this lovely cailín?

Well, rumour has it the voice belongs to none other than Irish television and radio broadcaster, Eileen Dunne.

Just to be sure, we thought we'd ask:

Unfortunately, it looks likes this mystery woman isn't giving anything away, but she seems happy enough either way:

You and us both.

We reckon Siri and the people of Ireland are going to get on just fine.

In an era where we literally share every detail of our lives with strangers on social media, some may not be too pushed about what kind of data they are sharing on Twitter.

However it’s the sneaky subconscious data that our devices collect from us that’s kind of creepy.

Buried in your privacy settings is feature that records every place you’ve ever visited with your iPhone (which is everywhere obvs) and how many times you’ve been there.

This information isn’t new, but it’s coming into public awareness now as people are questioning if it’s an acceptable feature.

The tracking is part of the Frequent Locations feature which pinpoints the places you visit on a map.

These locations are then logged by your iPhone to improve the Maps app, and can be seen in the Frequent Locations list.

If you click on a location, it will list out all of the times and dates of your visit.

If you delve in deeper, the map will show you exactly how long you spent at the location.

For example, the map above shows the two hours and three minutes we spent at Taste of Dublin in the Iveagh Gardens last week. Weird right?

So that random yoga class you went to? Logged. All of your favourite restaurants to eat at? Logged. And your home address? Definitely logged.

So if anyone had access to your phone, they could see exactly what establishments you had been frequenting.

Concerned? Here’s how to turn off this invasive feature.

  1. Go to the Settings menu, and click on Privacy
  2. Select Location Services
  3. Scroll down pretty far and select System Services
  4. Scroll pretty far down (but not as far) again and select Frequent Locations
  5. Select ‘Clear History’

iPhone users have taken to Twitter to express their concern over the feature.

However, others have said that they don’t mind it as it adds an extra element of safety to their lives.

What do you think?

Ever had a tough time choosing the exact right hue for your nails in the salon?

There are so many to choose from, and if you regret the shade, that's fifty quid down the drain.

Luckily, 18-year-old Emma Young recently shared her GENIUS method of colour choosing, and we're blown away.

All you need is the plastic colour decals and your Snapchat app and you're good to go.

'I was looking at the nail options, and the nail salon I go to has them glued inside the book so you can't put your finger under it to see how it looks,' she told Buzzfeed.

Momentarily baffled, the teen had a radical idea.

Using Snapchat's sticker feature, she created a sticker with one of the nail shades, and placed it on her own nail in a snap.

The final result was a Emma being able to see exactly what the shade would look like adorning her digits.

Impressed? You should be.

The method went completely viral after Emma tweeted it to the masses, and people have been utilising the Snapchat nail sticker hack for themselves.

We're sorted for our next salon visit!

How Jackets Are Made?

The history of the jacket began at the dawn of aviation.  During the First World War, the cabins of combat aircraft were not equipped with protective glass, and the cold and strong wind was one of the many problems faced by the first pilots at high altitude. At that time, the most optimal solution to this problem was the use of genuine leather for the fabrication of flight jackets. In addition, the leather jacket protected the pilot from the fire. Genuine leather does not burn, but only gradually becomes charred, unlike synthetic fabric, which flares up in a second.

Even if you are out of touch with aviation, you must have seen the jackets, analogy of the originals, reproduced with maximum accuracy on the Hollywood stars in many different movies.

In our time, the jacket has already managed to take its place in the world of both men’s and women’s fashion. The most popular are vintage styles of jackets, which even remotely resemble the original cut of flight jackets of the past. Have a look at amazing jackets by Choiss that is just one-love. In general, a jacket is a must-have for any fashion and style admirer. Depending on the type of jackets, they are made of the following materials.

Classic Jacket

This model is made of genuine leather and can have different collars. Usually, this is a demi-season jacket, which will reliably protect against weather conditions and variations in temperature. This model can also have several sub types, for example, the lining can be made of fleece, padding polyester or flannel. The winter version is a thermal lined model for frosty and windy weather. These jackets are made also of genuine leather, but the lining is made of natural fur or artificial insulation. Often it is supplemented with a hood to protect the head, and the length can reach up to the knees.

Padded Jacket

This type is pretty widespread thanks to its cut and shortened length as well as the typical sleeve cuffs, which make jackets so recognisable. It can be made of tweed or wool of different colours. Usually, it is down padded jacket.

Light Jacket

This is a kind of windbreaker, which is meant for cool evenings or rainy weather in spring and summer. It is extremely popular in pop culture as well as among athletes, rappers, skateboarders, fashion bloggers, etc. Most often, such models have a classic cut, loose-fitting sleeves, they are made of nylon, cotton, silk, polyamide and other light fabrics. The sport-style jackets are back in vogue nowadays. It can be of almost any colour. In addition, it can be complemented by a coloured embroidered patch in the form of logos or numbers.

Young charming girls should pay attention to models with the original cut, style, and colour as well as shortened or elongated models for hot or cold season. Older women should better focus on calm noble tones like black, brown, white. A brand high-quality jacket will become a great purchase.

Yesterday, it was reported that some of Ireland's biggest bloggers were taking part in a New York-based reality show Making it in Manhattan.

The show, which is being made for RTE Player,  is set to feature six episodes, and rumours were swirling that NYC mega-blogger Erika Fox and Ireland-based Louise Cooney had been cast in the show.

Both Erika and Louise have since taken to Snapchat to say that it is not confirmed that they will be taking part in the show.

'There are some articles in the Irish media today…about a show,' said Erika.

'There's talks about this show happening that me and some of the girls and Kaelin are going to be in, and they're saying it's definitely happening but it's not confirmed,' she said.

'I had one meeting, I'd say about six months ago, with them about the whole thing, they ran the idea by me but I haven't signed up for it.'

'So nothing is confirmed.'

Louise Cooney also took to the social media site to tell fans that she was not moving to NYC to shoot the show.

The blogger told her followers that she had been receiving a few snaps from people questioning her about the show.

'I just wanted to come on and mention about an article that was posted online today because I've got a few snaps about it, I am not moving to New York anytime soon,' she said.

A post shared by Louise Cooney (@louisecooney_) on

So whether or not the influencers will actually be in the Making it in Manhattan show remains to be seen, but we're hoping they get confirmed for it ASAP!

Until then, we'll have to stick to creeping on their OOTD Instagram snaps.
