The Irish influencing industry has been marred by criticism in recent months, but despite the criticism of the industry as a whole, hardworking and authentic bloggers and social media gurus deserve recognition for their cultivated following.

Erika Fox of Retro Flame is one such blogger, who began her journey in online content creation years before becoming an influencer was a mainstream accolade.

The Kerry native, whose style hallmarks include a sharp blazer, killer boots and a head of copper waves, has been making fashion and lifestyle content that enthrals her Insta audience of 130k followers.

This weekend, Erika will join host Ray D'Arcy on the couch to discuss her work and life in New York as a full time fashion & lifestyle blogger.

Erika runs her blog and YouTube channel full time, with a hand from her sister Kaelin Fox.

Erika was recently named as one of the Top 10 globally recognised Irish influencers by SERMO, along with names like Suzanne Jackson and Roz Pucell.

Joining Erika is  philanthropist and businessman Dr Tom Cavanagh talks to Ray about his efforts to build a more equal Ireland.

Dancing with the Stars judges Loraine Barry, Julian Benson and Brian Redmond will also come together on the night to sit down with Ray.

You can catch the show on RTÉ One at 9.45pm this Saturday 5 January.

Yesterday, it was reported that some of Ireland's biggest bloggers were taking part in a New York-based reality show Making it in Manhattan.

The show, which is being made for RTE Player,  is set to feature six episodes, and rumours were swirling that NYC mega-blogger Erika Fox and Ireland-based Louise Cooney had been cast in the show.

Both Erika and Louise have since taken to Snapchat to say that it is not confirmed that they will be taking part in the show.

'There are some articles in the Irish media today…about a show,' said Erika.

'There's talks about this show happening that me and some of the girls and Kaelin are going to be in, and they're saying it's definitely happening but it's not confirmed,' she said.

'I had one meeting, I'd say about six months ago, with them about the whole thing, they ran the idea by me but I haven't signed up for it.'

'So nothing is confirmed.'

Louise Cooney also took to the social media site to tell fans that she was not moving to NYC to shoot the show.

The blogger told her followers that she had been receiving a few snaps from people questioning her about the show.

'I just wanted to come on and mention about an article that was posted online today because I've got a few snaps about it, I am not moving to New York anytime soon,' she said.

So whether or not the influencers will actually be in the Making it in Manhattan show remains to be seen, but we're hoping they get confirmed for it ASAP!

Until then, we'll have to stick to creeping on their OOTD Instagram snaps.

It's supposedly going to be a mix of Sex And The City and The Hills.

Yep, some of Ireland's biggest bloggers are going to take part in a New York-based reality show.

Making It In Manhattan will feature Erika Fox, the woman behind Retro Flame, as she navigates life in NYC.

RTÉ is apparently trying to target a millennial audience with an "aspirational series", which will also include blogger, Louise Cooney.

The influencers will be filmed as they make their way around one of the biggest fashion and beauty industries the world has to offer.

According to The Herald, "This show is an ultimate feel-good, guilty pleasure.

"Follow the cast as they adorn some of Manhattan's most glamorous locations for both work and pleasure."

The show will air exclusively on RTÉ Player and will be a six-part series.

Vogue: The modern-day equivalent of the bible for any self-confessed fashionista.

Mere mortals read it, models cover it, but only the very esteemed are featured within, so we are PUMPED for one Irish blogger right now!

Retro Flame, also known as Erika Fox, took the plunge earlier this year by deciding to leave her job and establish herself as a blogger in New York City, and boy, has it paid off!

Taking to Twitter this afternoon, the 24-year-old fashion and lifestyle blogger shared the milestone moment with online followers by retweeting Vogue and sharing a string of loveheart emojis, and they're all over it.
