Amid allegations that final year students at University College Cork had breached exam procedure, the university has chosen to withhold specific results pending an investigation.

According to The Irish Times, students from the business information systems course are alleged to have outsourced computer-coding aspects of their final-year project.

It is understood that the investigation was launched after a student alleged that up to 14 peers were involved in presenting work that wasn't their own.

While a large number have been cleared of plagarism, a number of investigations into the claim are currently ongoing, with the university confirming they are involved in "an ongoing process with a small number of students regarding possible breach of its examination procedures”.

As the investigation is ongoing, the university will not be commenting further, but it is understood that if a student is found to have breached procedure, they will face a mark of zero or be excluded from the university.

After 18 years with TV3, political editor, Ursula Halligan, has decided to step down.

The broadcaster moved to TV3 in 2000 after stints on The Sunday Tribune and RTE, and subsequently reported on four general elections and four Taoisigh appointments over the course of her career.

Commenting on Ursula's departure from TV3, Mick McCaffrey, Head of 3News, paid tribute to the broadcaster's approach to political correspondence during her time with the station.

"Ursula has made a valuable contribution to TV3 over the past 18 years and was always an independent voice in politics, going beyond the spin and hype to give our viewers the real story of what was happening at Leinster House."

"She was respected across all political parties for her insights and independence. We would like to thank Ursula for her dedicated service and wish her the very best for the future," he added.

The award-winning broadcaster, who was met with overwhelming support when she came out as gay in May 2015, will leave her role at the end of August.

Ireland's very own Aengus Mac Grianna has just become the star of Ebay's latest ad – no really.

Live television is a beautiful thing, especially when something goes wrong, and oh boy has Aengus had his fair share of blunders.

We all remember the powder puff incident right?

The RTE news anchor has provided the country with many laughs over the years thanks to his impressive and ever growing blooper reel – And it looks like we're not the only ones who love to laugh at his unfortunate errors.

Ebay have made him the star of their latest Prime Deal advert and it could not be more perfect.

Poor Aengus can't catch a break. But hey, that's show business.

So, the whole point of taking a holiday is to relax, unwind and indulge in that all important 'me time', right?

Wrong.

According to Cpl Resources' latest Employment Market Monitor, one in three of us actually feel more stressed after taking some time off work.

The report suggests that the expectation to be in constant communication puts many workers at the risk of burning out.

The findings also stressed the importance of having incentives and benefits in place in order to maintain employee moral.

Peter Cosgrove, Director, Cpl Resources said: "New opportunities still appeal to contented workers, so it is important to provide employees with enough incentives and benefits to keep them.

"Companies often invest a lot of time and money in hiring new candidates, but these figures show that it is worth focusing on managing the talent already in the company."

It also emerged that 60 per cent of workers prefer email for communication and while this might be an efficient means of getting messages from one place to another, workers are missing out on vital colleague interactions.

Mr Cosgrove said: "More typing and less talking may be good for efficiency, but it negatively impacts the amount of face to face interaction and relationship-building within the office and with clients."

But hey, even if our stress levels are set to peak, we probably won't care when we're sipping cocktails by the pool.

World No.1, Andy Murray, recently dubbed by The Guardian as 'the feminist that tennis needs', has lived up to his female-friendly reputation once again.

The defending champion, who was knocked out of wimbledon yesterday afternoon when he lost to American underdog, Sam Querrey, is being praised after he quickly shut down a reporter who seemingly forget the achievements of a number of female players.

Footage from the post-match press conference shows the tennis star correcting a reporter who claimed Sam Querrey was the first US player to reach a Grand Slam semi-final in eight years.

"Andy, Sam is the first American player to reach the semi-final of a Slam since 2009."

"Male player," Andy interjected.

"I beg your pardon?" the reporter responded.

"Male player, right?" Murray repeated.

"Yes, first male player, that's for sure," the reporter said.

Serena and Venus Williams, Madison Keys and Coco Vandeweghe are all American players who have qualified for Grand Slam semi-finals since 2009, with Venus doing so the day before the reporter made the comment.

Andy has been praised on social media for refusing to allow the press to engage in casual sexism, with his mother, Judy, even proudly tweeting: “That's my boy.”

G'wan Andy!

The Irish Government has approved an opt-out scheme for organ donation.

Yesterday, Health Minister Simon Harris, brought forward a motion to the Cabinet which will see families give authorisation for organ donation.

The aim of the new Bill, called The Human Tissue Bill, is to regulate the removal, retention, storage, use and disposal of human tissue from the deceased.

This will mean that families will have the right to stop the organs of their loved ones being donated, if they wish to do so.

According to The Irish Times, Mr Harris said: “This has been long-talked about in this country and today we take a step closer to it becoming a reality.

“An opt-out system of consent for organ donation and accompanying publicity campaign will raise awareness among individuals and encourage discussion among families of their intentions in relation to organ donation.

“In this way individuals can increase the chances that their organs might be utilised after their death, and can ensure that those left behind will have the satisfaction of knowing that their wishes were carried through.”

The first draft of The Human Tissue Bill, which has been promised for several years now, will be brought to the Cabinet this Autumn.

OK Beliebers, please calm down.

It seems like Justin's fans have not learned from past experiences.

If you take a look back at last year, you probably remember Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie had a little summer romance – and it did not sit well with his fans.

His followers on social media trolled Sofia so much, that JB ended up making his Instagram private, and then after further abuse he deleted the page altogether.

Shortly afterwards, Sofia and Justin went their separate ways, but remained friends and still hang out the odd time together.

Well, his fans can't seem to come to terms with his friendship with the daughter of Lionel Richie, and proved it this week on social media.

A post shared by Sofia Richie (@sofiarichie) on

Sofia shared a photo on Instagram; living her best life, eating pizza.

Later that day, Justin commented on the picture twice with, "You are gorgeous," and "!!".

And the Belieber fandom did not take it well at all:

Can't we all just be nice?

Earlier this week, a CEO in the United States named Ben Congleton hit the headlines when he praised an employee for reminding him of the importance of caring for one’s mental health.

After Madalyn Parker circulated an email to her team which acknowledged her need to take a sick day in order to focus on her psychological wellbeing, Madalyn's employer told her that her candour did much to remove the stigma surrounding the issue.

Make no mistake; there’s a reason Madalyn's story struck a chord worldwide this week, and that’s because the vast majority of us either have first-hand experience of a mental health condition or know someone who suffers from one.

Like any physical ailment that prevents you from properly doing your job, anxiety and depression can render you incapable of functioning in the workplace.

So, when a Washington Times columnist suggested that Madalyn’s request to focus on her mental health was a classic example of ‘America’s wussification’, we are reminded that when it comes to removing the stigma, we are far from in the clear.

Commenting on the popularity of the story, Cheryl K. Chumley berated Madalyn’s decision, writing: “Taking a day off because you’re feeling depressed or anxious or otherwise unhappy and distressed is the stuff of Millennial Madness.”

“What a sad moment for America,” she continued in an article entitled Mental Health Sick Days a Sign of America’s Wussification.

“Just think back on the generation upon generation of hard workers who braved the likes of the Depression and meager work opportunities and conditions to take whatever jobs were offered –  and then think of the plight of Parker, who’s feeling a little down in the dumps and needs a day or two to nap it off, or do some therapeutic ceramic-making," Cheryl smugly quipped.

“And, oddly enough, who has to share that very private personal health information with work colleagues – instead of, once again, keeping it private," she added.

And therein lies, perhaps, the biggest problem –  Cheryl’s insistence that Madalyn should have just kept quiet.

Keeping schtum about a family member’s mental illness is something many of us know all too well.

Hiding our own until we buckle under the weight of it is something felt just as keenly by others.

And being forced to internalise the insensitive remarks made by women like Cheryl K Chumley are the very reasons Madalyn’s story is one we need to continue circulating.

“If you’re that down and need personal time to deal with your mental health, for goodness sake, just call in a sick day. No need to explain,” Cheryl argued.

Because God forbid, we’d seek strength in transparency, solace in the truth or solidarity in our colleagues, right Cheryl?

“All this open embrace of weakness is just making the American work force look bad,” she concluded.

Oh really? And is asthma a sign of weakness? What about diabetes? And where do we stand on epilepsy?

When you have the likes of Cheryl K Chumley sharing her thoughts on mental health sick days, you can be damn sure we need the likes of Madalyn Parker and Ben Congleton sharing theirs.

Malta, a predominantly Catholic nation, is set to vote for same-sex marriage.

However, the Catholic Church is objecting the motion.

When the Labour government won its second term last month, it promised to introduce the legislation as its first law, which the opposition party equally supports.

However, many are questioning whether the law will pass unanimously or if there will be any opposing votes.

The Bill, which will be voted on later today, is piloted by Malta's Equality Minister Helena Dalli, as she wants to "modernise the institution of marriage."

This will be the latest turn-around in the country, since divorce wasn't legalised until 2011.

Adoption among gay and lesbian men and women in civil unions was only introduced in 2014.
