He may be planning to take a break from UFC fighting as he prepares for parenthood, but Conor McGregor is still making headlines.

The mixed martial arts champ has revealed the gender of his baby – and it’s a boy!

The 28-year-old made the announcement last night, during an interview in Manchester.

“The only time my records are going to be broken is by him. I’m going to train this child,” he told a reporter.

He also confirmed that his first child with long-term girlfriend Dee Devlin is due in April.

Conor announced Dee’s wonderful pregnancy news back in November, as he became the first UFC fighter to hold two world title belts at once.

“I’ve a few announcements. One announcement is that I’m going to be a daddy early next year,” he said, adding that he was feeling a tad nervous at the prospect of becoming a father.

“I don’t even know what way to take it. It’s going to mess with my head because I don’t want to bring a child into anything like this.”

Judging by his latest comments, however, the Dubliner has had a change of heart!

Sometimes, going out for Valentine's Day seems like way too much bother, especially with the big night falling on a Tuesday this year.

Cooking a great meal for your partner and retiring to the couch (or the boudoir) for the night is just as romantic an option.

However, the stress of putting together the perfect romantic menu can put a lot of people off, so we asked George Casey, an esteemed chef and owner of elite catering company George Casey Catering, to walk us through the perfect couple's menu.

Obviously, we need a bit of bubbly to get us started, and the chef recommends pomegranate Prosecco: "It sets the mood off on the right note, and it's tasty!"

Once the Champagne flute is in hand, we'll be feeling a bit more confident to tackle the first course: a simple dish of tempura oyster with wasabi mayo and pickled cucumber. No big deal.

However, oysters are essential.

"It's the food of love," says George. "I find it's a great way for people who are squeamish about oysters to try them. Let's be honest; we should all try something new."

Moving on to the mains, George recommends some delightfully indulgent dishes that we'd be seriously impressed with, come Valentine's Day.

Linguine al frutti di mare all’ arrabbiata is George's first recommendation, or 'spicy pasta', to us mere mortals.

"It's very simple but, done right, it’s fantastic. Everyone needs a bit of spice in their lives. You could easily replace seafood with chorizo sausage, if you like."

A côte de bœuf with béarnaise sauce, triple-cooked chips, and tender stem broccoli with smoked almond dressing is the chef's second recommendation for a main, which sounds mouth-wateringly delicious.

"It's a sharing dish for you and your love. It's got to be quality beef, nothing over medium-rare, killer chips with a great sauce, and a bit of green to make you both feel like you're getting your five-a-day(plus 10million calories)," advises George.

And finally, for dessert, it's got to be chocolate.

Chocolate fondant with peanut ice cream is the way to go: "It's the ultimate luxurious, luscious and naughty dessert."

And if you and your bae can manage another treat, it's all about the cheese board and red wine because, as George says: "January is well and truly over!"

We're starving just reading this menu!

Earlier today, in Shemazing! HQ, we were chatting about the €88m Euromillions winner, which spurred on a conversation about what we would do with the money.

We got totally carried away and decided we'd all buy an island, which led us to this website… and OMFG, we die.

All around Ireland and across the world, there are beautiful, scenic, colourful and tranquil islands that you could buy for less moolah than a house.

Have a look through this list we drew up – they're like little pieces of paradise:

5. Venice Island – Italy

Venice Island - Italy, Europe

This island is situated on the lagoon of Venice. There are four buildings on the land as well as one villa, so we can only imagine bringing all of our friends and family over for a visit (i.e. a three-day island party).

Most of the buildings need a bit of a revamp, but sure, if you live on an island, you might as well spend your time sprucing the place up.

4. Plitvice Island – Croatia

Plitvice Island - Croatia, Europe

If you like to get up close and personal with wildlife, then this is the island to buy. It's an abundant, well-preserved natural environment, inhabited by brown bears, wolves, eagles and wild cats.

It's the only island in Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is famous for its colourful waters, which range from vivid royal blues to dark forest greens.

3. Bushy Island – Ireland

Bushy Island - Ireland, Europe

Coming over to Ireland, Bushy Island (lol at the name), is on the lower end of the price scale. Going for just over €200,000, it has no buildings, but obviously there's room to improve.

Located in Lough Derg, Mountshannon in Co. Clare, it has pretty impressive views and has an abundance of flora, fauna and wildlife. Not too shabby.

2. Mouchão de Alhandra Island – Portugal

Mouchão de Alhandra Island - Portugal, Europe

This is the dearest island of the lot, coming in at €25m (ouch), but just LOOK at it. The Portuguese island has a manor house, an employee house, agricultural support installations and cattle facilities.

There's also an airplane facility, so you know, if you want to casually fly over to your own island, the option is there.

1. Mermaid Isle – Ireland

Mermaid Isle - Ireland, Europe

Our number one spot has to go to Mermaid Island, just off Kenmare Bay. At €3m, you not only get the island but a HUGE house, a cottage, two pools and a crystal-clear protected ocean that you can swim and go scuba-diving in.

This would be the first thing we'd buy if we won any large some of money.

One day…

Cleaning our beauty blenders definitely isn't the most enjoyable task, so leaving the little sponges to soak in some hot water while we clean the rest of our brushes seems like a pretty good idea.

Niamh McManus decided to complete this very task, and left her beauty blender in a mug to draw out the foundation within.

Unfortunately, she didn't mention this to her brother, who spotted the mug sitting on the countertop and started to drink the substance, assuming it was tea.

Niamh shared her GAS anecdote on Twitter, and it quickly went viral.

The mistake was pretty understandable when looking at the photographic evidence provided; after all, the foundation shade is freakishly close to the hue of a milky cuppa.

While the thought of drinking old foundation water makes us sick, we can't help thinking he may have deserved the fright for trying to rob Niamh's perceived cup of tea.

Heading out tonight, but not sure what boozy beverage you're in the mood for?

Ah, dry shampoo; a true friend to all women out there who can't be bothered washing their hair every day.

We recently discovered a delightful new brand of dry shampoo, that you can customise to match your hair colour.

Created by two women in need of a better dry shampoo, Stranded is tinted to match blondes, brunettes and redheads.

Using nothing but ingredients found in nature, Stranded contains powders that match to individual hair shades, and we're in love.

To make things even better, the ingredients are also vegan-friendly, and sulfate- and paraben-free… SOLD.

We all know the drill: your alarm goes off in the morning, and for those few minutes after, it feels like you're in a cold, anger-induced hell.

Even though you got those solid eight hours, it feels like you've been asleep for all of two seconds, and you just can't bring yourself to get up out of your cosy, warm bed.

But you deal, and you get on with the day, only to come back to your bed the following night and welcome it with open arms.

For people who hate getting up in the morning, this drill is a day-to-day measure, and you'll never get out of it; but it turns out, people like this are pretty intelligent.

Natch.

The study, titled Why Night Owls Are More Intelligent, says that those who are in control of when they go to sleep are more intelligent than their counterparts.

Something that evolution did not prepare us for was the snooze button which, in the grand scale of things, is a relatively new invention.

Hitting that button and altering your way of sleeping apparently means you're more intellectual, according to Satoshi Kanazawa and Kaja Perina, the authors of the book.

When you ignore your alarm the moment it goes off, you're actually listening to what your body needs instead – and that, is more sleep.

Kaja and Satoshi say that because you're more in tune to what your body needs, you're also more in tune to follow your aspirations, which makes you more independent, happy and ambitious.

However, the National Sleep Foundation believes that sleeping in too much is not healthy, either… So, you know, take from this what you will.

Our evenings haven't been very productive since CBB started, and it looks like we'll be procrastinating even more, as the show is looking to extend its stay on our television screens.

The reality TV series was due to have its final on Friday, February 3.

However, CBB bosses are hoping to push it back as far as February 24, according to the Sun Online.

This year's All Stars Vs New Stars concept has been very popular, with celebs like Chloe Ferry, Kim Woodburn and Jedward bringing the drama.

Kim Woodburn and Jedward are the favourites to win this year's show.

“The All-Star format has done brilliantly this year, with so many different personalities bringing so much drama," and insider told the Sun.

“The ratings have almost doubled since Kim walked through the doors and caused chaos in the house.

“Viewers are hungry for more action, so bosses are potentially going to push the final back until February 24.”

Fingers crossed!

Harry Potter lovers have been teased and tormented by the revelation of a Harry Potter palette by Storybook Cosmetics.

The brand that brought us Game of Thrones makeup and Beauty and the Beast makeup brushes has been working on the Wizardry and Witchcraft palette for months, and it's finally almost ready for release.

The gorgeous, rich shades were finalised a few weeks back, but the spell book packaging needed to be perfected.

The creators have done an amazing job, and the book palette wouldn't look out of place in Hermione's hands at the Hogwarts library.

The shades themselves are divine, from taupes and neutrals to deep emerald and navy.

The new eye shadows sit alongside wand themed makeup brushes and quill eyeliner on Storybook Cosmetics' website, so getting a magical makeup look is literally a click away.

The palette will be released in the next few days, so keep your eyes on the prize because this one is sure to fly off the (Hogwarts) shelves.

Kylie Jenner has been the talk of the beauty business this week with the launch of her hotly anticipated Valentine's Day collection.

However, talk has turned to one of her older Kylie Cosmetics releases.

The makeup mogul's Peach Palette sold out in mere minutes, as do all of her products, and fans were in awe of the vibrant colours and improved packaging.

Unfortunately, once makeup lovers began receiving their anticipated palettes, a recurring issue emerged.

Many Kylie fans have complained about a strong, chemical smell emitting from the eye shadows.

Some customers are even questioning whether the makeup is safe to use due to the allegedly overpowering scent.

Customers had previously been wondering if the palette would be peach scented, so they must have gotten a bit of a shock when they dicovered the chemical aroma.

Other customers have said that there is no issue with the scent of the makeup they received.

Kylie and her cosmetics camp have yet to comment on the issue.

Scotland is currently considering whether to make cat-calling and wolf-whistling into hate crimes.

The consideration comes after a senior judge was appointed to carry out a review designed to make the law “fit for purpose in the 21st century”, according to the Scottish National Party.

Insulting someone because of their age or gender could also be treated as a hate crime

Scotland defines a hate crime as a crime motivated by "malice or ill-will towards an identifiable social group".

Almost all women know that uncomfortable situation where someone wolf-whistles or makes unsolicited sexual comments about their appearance, and Scotland is considering stamping that out for good with the power of the law.

Currently, only offences based on race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or gender identity are currently considered hate crimes in the country.

Eighty-five percent of UK women aged 18-24 have experienced unwanted sexual attention in public, and 45 percent have experienced unwanted sexual touching, according to a YouGov survey.

"Intimidating or threatening behaviour including obscene calls or gestures" is already covered under the Scottish law protecting victims of hate crimes.

However, not everyone agrees with the potential new extension of the hate crime laws.

'In my day, banter and wolf-whistling was enjoyed by ALL healthy red-blooded people. You snowflakes are something new, so f***** up," said one outraged Twitter user.

Whether the laws actually will come into effect remains to be seen.
