We’re not even two weeks into 2017 and we’ve already had a whole host of celebrity baby news.

But one that we’ll be keeping a close eye on is Lauren Conrad’s recent announcement that she is expecting her first child.

Lauren took to Instagram last week to share the exciting news that she was expecting saying:

“I have a feeling 2017 is going to be the best year yet”.

Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2017 is going to be the best year yet…

We’re already big fans of Lauren and her social media presence and that was kicked into overdrive last night when she shared a first look at her growing bump.

Posing for a picture on her website, Lauren looked truly stunning as she smiled down at her little bump with her team saying:

“Oh hello, cutest baby bump ever! We can’t wait to meet your little bundle!”

We can’t wait to see what’s to come on LC's social media over the next few months but we know it will be gorgeous.

Ray J has left the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The singer, who was one of the highest-paid contestants on the show, exited the house yesterday due to a toothache, and apparently, he's not allowed back in.

According to TMZ, Ray J was rushed to hospital with a sore tooth, and he is said to be "enraged" that the producers let his pain go on for so long.

However, social media is a tad confused, as Big Brother has often allowed contestants to leave and come back into the house due to medical emergencies.

While confused though, many fans of the show wrote on Twitter that they won't really miss his presence:

Bye Ray!

Congratulations are in order for Irish comedian Chris O’Dowd and his wife Dawn O’Porter; they are expecting their second child together!

The brunette beauty announced the news at the end of her Get It On podcast, which she shared online yesterday.

She ended her podcast off with; “Hope your 2017 is going really well. Mine certainly is. I am starting a new novel this week, I’m about to turn 38 and I am pregnant.”

“So I’ll be investing in a lot of elasticated trousers and dusting off all my old vintage tents, not unlike a lot of people in January,” she laughed.

We're delighted that the family is adding to their brood!

An Irish woman, believed to be in her twenties, is in a critical condition following a plane crash near Agnes Water, in Queensland, Australia today.

According to emerging reports, the Irish national was travelling with three other individuals when their light aircraft came down at approximately 11am on Tuesday.

It is understood that the four individuals on board were taking a day trip to Middle Island when the crash occurred.

62-year-old pilot Less Woodall has also been taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries, while a 13-year-old boy is being treated for minor injuries.

Reports have confirmed that the crash killed a British woman in her twenties, but authorities are still in the process of officially identifying her.

Commenting on developments, Queensland police acting inspector, Jane Healy, told ABC News: "Because of the location and communications, it's difficult to ascertain who the deceased was. We're still getting an ID on that."

It has been confirmed that police will be working closely with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau to investigate the tragic incident.

You might have to prepare yourself for this one, but it's been five whole years since Netflix began streaming in Ireland.

That's right, ladies, half a decade has passed since we were introduced to the service that brought us House of CardsOrange is the New Black, and Stranger Things… to name but three.

Oh, and during that time, we learned that saying you were chilling out in front of the box with a potential partner or significant other suddenly took on a far greater meaning.

We mean, did you two actually watch Netflix together? Or did you two watch Netflix… and, you know, chill together?

As if we didn't have enough problems trying to navigate the various other pastimes we're meant to enjoy together…

1. Netflix and Chill

For many of us, a night in front of Netflix means more time arguing over what to watch and less time undressing each other.

"Don't dare open another button on that damn shirt. We're watching Clueless, and you're ruining Cher's monlogue about the Haitians."

2. The official first date

Will it involve half his group of mates? Are you meant to bring a friend along? A first date in Ireland is not like the movies.

"Mick will get ya a pint. Have ya met Mick? Known him since 4th class. He'd nothing else on tonight, so said I'd bring him along."

3. Couple of drinks together

The idea is sweet – no doubt about it – but when you spend two hours scrolling through your respective phones without speaking to each other, you have to question whether you're doing it wrong.

"Here, I've tagged you in a meme, Get off Twitter, and have a look on Facebook."

4. Phonecalls that last longer than 40 seconds

Unless they're calling to remind you to buy bog roll, phone conversations are not for Irish couples. Oh, we're a nation of talkers alright… as long as it's by text.

"Who's dead?! Then, why did you ring me, for Jaysus sake? Do not do that again, I'm telling you."

5. Shopping together

Some romcoms would have you believe a couple can spend a leisurely afternoon browsing various stores, and still arrive home without a single crossed word, but we know better.

"I'm not going in there again. It's full of 15-year-old lads who can't afford a pair of runners between them. And you bailed on me in Topshop, so you can p*ss off."

6. Working-out together

The couple that squat together, stay together… unless you grew up in Ireland and were raised on the notion that sporting activities were divided by gender.

"Don't you tell me how to swing a kettlebell. I was doing this long before you decided to ditch GAA."

7. Sleeping together in the parental home

Unless you were raised in a particularly liberal home, you'd be fairly shocked to learn your other half's parents would be OK with y'all sharing a bed in the family home.

"I'm allowed into your room? Your mam isn't waiting under the bed with a shot gun, is she?"

Imagine never needing to get another painful filling again – we can only hope.

Well, researchers have now found an innovative way to treat damaged teeth, making them regenerate themselves.

Hurrah!

The treatment has been developed at the Dental Institute, King’s College London, and involves the stimulation of stem cells already present in the tooth pulp – using an Alzheimer’s drug.

The research, published in the Scientific Reports journal, was led by Professor Paul Sharpe.

He explained afterwards: “The simplicity of our approach makes it ideal as a clinical dental product for the natural treatment of large cavities, by providing both pulp protection and restoring dentine.

“In addition, using a drug that has already been tested in clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease provides a real opportunity to get this dental treatment quickly into clinics.”

The discovery stands in stark comparison to the treatments currently available for use by dentists such as man-made cements and fillings which are prone to infection.

“As this new method encourages natural tooth repair, it could eliminate all of these issues, providing a more natural solution for patients.

The treatment will involve low doses of the drug small molecule glycogen synthase kinase (GSK-3) inhibitor applied to the tooth using biodegradable collagen sponges.

The sponge will disintegrate over time, replaced by new dentine and resulting in a complete natural repair.

We're kinda only getting it into our heads this week that Christmas is over.

And when Christmas is over, it feels like everything else is a million miles away. Good weather will never come again, the darkness is going to stay forever, and we'll all just have to wear ugly woolly jumpers for the rest of our days.

Yep, January can be super depressing, and while we can't change the weather, we can wear beautiful god-damn jewellery that makes us look like *~queens~* from the South of France.

Jeans are the cornerstone of a good, solid wardrobe, and thankfully Penneys have just launched the denim collection of dreams

You have your black, high waisted pair for hitting the town, your ripped up on-trend blue denims, and your slouchy mom jeans for brunching.

However, the bargain high street store isn't restricting it's new spring collection to just jeans.

Black skinny dungarees €21, White wide-legged dungarees €19

Oh no, every Irish girl's favourite affordable fashion store is coming up with cool new denim concepts for spring 2017.

This includes a pair of very Kendall Jener-worthy black skinny dungarees, as well as some contemporary white denim wide-legged dungarees.

Blue denim jacket €25, Black denim jacket €35

Statement, embroidered jackets have been doing the rounds lately, and a loose denim style is a great alternative to winters heavy embroidered biker jackets.

Whether you want simple embroidered florals, some stencilled lettering or a full on scene from the tropics, Penneys is serving up some seriously summery looks.

Crop top €13, Mom jeans €19

Keeping with springs obsession with embroidered everything, Penneys is introducing a seriously stylish embroidered denim co-ord.

While the pieces would look divine as separates, the double denim look could even work for the office with a white shirt under the crop top and a blazer over top.

Blue jeans €19, Stonewashed jeans €19, Frilled jeans €17

No denim collection would be complete without some amazing jeans, and Penneys has added a whopping 19 new pairs to it's spring line up.

Paint speckled, ripped and distressed denims feature heavily, as do some seriously stone washed styles. Our favourite has to be the frilled it-jeans that have taken over our Instagrams lately.

No one will believe you when you say "thanks hun, Penneys."

We're guessing Paul from British Gas is suffering from serious social media regret this afternoon after a tweet he posted was met with considerable criticism from members of the public earlier today.

Using the company's Twitter page, Paul decided to pay tribute to David Bowie on his one-year anniversary, before swiftly moving on to the service provided by British Gas.

"Morning all," he began in the ill-conceived post. "A year today we lost a pop icon David Bowie, time flys don't it? We're here till 10pm if you need anything. Thanks, Paul." (sic)

Unsurprisingly, people wasted no time lashing out at the typo-laden post, with one person writing: "'time flys don't it" That's really bad taste. I'm shocked a business account has written that."

"Time does fly. It's now been a month since a complaint was raised. You could be heroes, just for today and resolve it," quipped another disgruntled Twitter user.

As more and more scathing responses flooded in, poor ol' Paul realised it might be time to acknowledge the widespread irritation.

Taking to the site again, he wrote: "Hey, David Bowie meant so much to me. I didn't mean to offend anyone and I only wanted to pay tribute to a master songwriter and true icon."

Thankfully, the public were willing to let him off this time, with one replying: "Personal twitter accounts are good for that! I know you meant no harm but coming from businesses it smells of PR."

"Paul is great. More Paul, please. And give him a pay rise, ey?" added someone else.

Might be time to task someone else with the Twitter shift…

It’s been seven years since Bobby Jack and Freddie lost their mum, Jade Goody to cancer and now Jeff Brazier is about to reveal what life with his two boys has been like since her death.

Taking to Instagram, Jeff asked other followers who had similar experiences to share their story with him so he could share “what bereaved children want/need from a step-parent.”

As he continues to write his book, Guide To Surviving Grief, the 37-year-old decided to reveal the title of his next chapter to his near 50K followers and seemed stuck on what to write.

Jeff was raising his boys as a single parent until he met current girlfriend Kate Dwyer who now lives with the family.

Kate recently took to social media to share her experience of being a stepmother saying:

“I would be lying if I said that there isn’t occasions when living full time with someone else’s children is both challenging and overwhelming, but then one of them does something like this and it all makes sense.”

Even though he wasn't our president, we sure are going to miss Barack Obama being in office.

From his farewell video giving us all the feels, to his wife being one of the most influential women on earth, they were, and still are, certainly people to look up to.

But apart from his down-to-earth persona and hard work ethic, we loved Obama because of his personality, and how he always seemed like he was up for a bit of craic.

So, it's no wonder why one of his top aides, Marvin Nicholson, asked him to be a groomsman at his wedding.

Marvin and his wife Helen were both part of Obama's administration since 2008, so they all seem to be good friends. But to be in the actual wedding party, well, the POTUS looked absolutely delighted about it.

The ceremony took place in Florida, with news outlet WJXT4 covering the day.

The news site shared photos on its Facebook wall, and Obama's cheeky little smile was just the cherry on top of the (wedding) cake.

The FLOTUS didn't attend the event, but moving vans were spotted at the White House over the weekend, so no doubt Michelle was organising their big move to make way for president-elect Donald Trump.

Barack and Michelle, you'll always be our faves.
