Yearly Archives: 2016

Ah, the Strictly curse strikes again. Another year of Strictly Come Dancing, another ruined relationship and another budding romance.

While we all may have been feeling the palpable sexual chemistry between Corrie actress Georgia May Foote and her dance partner, Giovanni Pernice, hopes for romance were dashed as Georgia was with boyfriend, Sean Ward.

However, as the handsome couple announced their split after seven months of dating following the finale of the show, rumours of the 24-year-old's cosy relationship with her dance partner surfaced once again.

Throughout the course of the show, media outlets reports heated arguments with Sean that left Georgia in tears backstage and it all stemmed from the developing 'friendship' between Georgia and new professional on the show, Giovanni.

And it seems that the pair are finally going public with there romance as the Italian dancer shared a snap of the couple with his head resting on her freshly, lightened barnet.

Strictly Come Dancing has claimed many a relationship over it's eleven year run with winner Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani's closeness reportedly causing problems for the dancer's marriage.

Meanwhile on Celebrity Big Brother, former professional on the show Kristina Rihanoff just announced her pregnancy with her former Strictly dance partner, Ben Cohen who was married at the time they were on the show together.

While the world continues to mourn one of the greatest contributors to music and pop culture that we may ever know, tributes and messages of love have been pouring out across the globe.

Bowie's face was superimposed across the front pages of international newspapers yesterday while fans arrived out in droves to bask in his musical legacy.

Meanwhile in Dublin, an apt mural has been created by locals featuring David as his classic alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, emblazoned on a bright pink background and the artwork can be found on Richmond Street.

Some lucky fans can also enjoy screenings of the class film, Labyrinth, starring Bowie and Jennifer Connolly in the Lighthouse Cinema this week.

David Bowie plays classic villian, Jareth, in the films and co-wrote many of the now iconic songs featured.

Earlier this week, Stephanie Davis' boyfriend, model Sam Reece, tweeted that he would no longer be supporting his girlfriend while she is in the house and many assumed that that was that for the pair.

However, Sam later confirmed that he was not breaking up with Steph but would be having a few choice words with her when she gets out of the house.

Well it seems our favourite Geordie lass, Charlotte Crosby, who won the competition herself in 2013, is less than impressed with Sam's antics in the media whilst his girlfriend has been doing the show.

"That’s a bit fame hungry," she told the Mirror.

"He jumped after the attention, gained a lot of followers from it then all of a sudden he’s still with her."

It seems that Sam too has been trying to get into the reality show game as he appeared on the last season of Channel 4's First Dates, though the date did not go very well.

Charlotte has defended Stephanie describing the CBB house as a tough place to be especially if you are away from your other half.

"I think it’s a very hard environment to be in when you’re in a relationship and I think it would be hard for anyone to be in so I don’t exactly think it’s wrong but I don’t exactly think it’s right.

"She hasn’t cheated, do you know what I mean? Did she kiss with tongues? Until there’s tongues or sex then that’s bad."

Westlife/Eurovision fans, you're in for a treat this May.

Just last week, we reported that singer Nicky Byrne was in talks to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision, and it seems the news is indeed true.

RTÉ confirmed the news this morning, announcing that Nicky would be heading to Sweden in the hopes of winning with his entry, Sunlight.

The song was co-written by Nicky and Wayne Hector, the mastermind behind a whopping seven of Westlife's hits, including Flying Without Wings, Swear It Again and World Of Our Own.

Award-winning composer Ronan Hardiman was also on board.

"I am honoured RTÉ have chosen me and believe in this song like I do," Nicky said today.

"Like many of us, I have grown up watching The Eurovision Song Contest... I have a great memory as a nine year old, of dancing around our sitting room in a tri-colour sweatshirt when Johnny Logan lifted the trophy in 1987.

"This year I go one step further, and actually walk on that stage to represent my country."

For the last several years, RTÉ has used the "Eurosong" format to decide on its annual entrant.

"We have a long and proud history with Eurovision, but we’ve had mixed results over the last few years," RTÉ's John McHugh said of the decision to change tacks.

Nicky will perform Sunlight live on The Ray D'Arcy Show on Saturday February 13, before heading to Stockholm in May.

It looks like Bill Crosby will do anything to not go to jail.

Last month, the comedian was officially charged with assault, but now it seems he wants to turn the table around on the charges against him.

Yesterday, The Crosby Show star's attorney filed a motion to have all the charges totally dismissed.

According to his lawyer, the charges against Bill "violate an express agreement" where Mr Crosby "would never be prosecuted with respect to the allegations of sexual assault made by complainant Andrea Constand."

It is claimed that back in 2006, Bill and Andrea signed a civil settlement after she initially sued him, meaning the authorities can't prosecute him now.

He is currently out on $1m (€930,000) bail, but it seems like this case will continue to go on for a while.

Attention One Direction fans, Niall Horan is now brunette.

The singer touched down in LA last night as the boys begin solo projects, but one thing that stuck out most to fans was the fact that Niall is no longer a blondie… we think.

The Mullingar native was wearing all black everything, including a cap which covered the top of his hair.

Now, whether he's going for a new look of blonde on top and brown on the bottom, we don't know. But either way, his fans went MENTAL when they saw him:
