Conor McGregor has finally spoken out about the infamous pub incident where he punched an elderly man in April, admitting that he was "in the wrong".

The video recently emerged which showed the 31-year-old fighter punch a 50-year-old man in the Marble Arch pub, with the man involved labelling the former UFC two-weight champ a "bully with money".

In his first interview since the public have seen the video, the Dubliner has owned up to his wrongs and vowed to "do better".

"In reality, it doesn't matter what happened there. I was in the wrong," McGregor said in an interview with ESPN's Ariel Helwani. "That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without it having to end the way it did.

"Although, five months ago it was, and I tried to make amends and I made amends back then – it still, that doesn't even matter," he continued.

"I was in the wrong. I must come here before you and take accountability and take responsibility. I owe it to the people that have been supporting me. I owe it to my mother, my father, my family. I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts."

"That's not who I am, that's not the reason why I got into martial arts or studying combat sports. The reason why I got into it was to defend against that type of scenario.

"To see that, although (it was) months ago and I have been making steps and continuously making steps to do better and be better – to see it is like a dagger into my heart as a young martial artist," he said.

"I'm just here to own up to that and move on, carry on and face what's coming." The video of the incident went viral, with the victim saying that he's glad McGregor's reputation has been negatively impacted.

The 50-year-old revealed to The Irish Daily Star: "I am sitting on the bar stool just having a quiet pint with my friend then all of a sudden because I refuse his drink I get a punch, you don't need that in life."

The shocking video shows the Crumlin thug holding his own brand of Proper No. Twelve whiskey in Drimnagh, putting glasses down on the bar for everyone.

"I didn't even notice McGregor coming into the pub but seemingly he was throwing shots around.

"He approached me from the left-hand side. I was ready to go. He said, 'will you have one of my whiskeys?' I said 'no'. I don't like whiskey. I'm a Guinness man. I put the glass up on (the counter)."

"He said 'no you will have it with me.' I said 'I don't want it'. I think I put it back up again. He obviously got aggravated that I had disrespected, and that's when he gave me the punch.

"My taxi arrived that I was after ordering. The taxi man came in and said to come outside. I put my jacket on and went outside with the taxi man, popped in the front and the next thing McGregor and his friend, I don't who he was I had never seen the chap before, hopped into the back of it," he added.

"I thought he was cheeky. His friend was just talking to the taxi man. I didn't talk to McGregor."

The man said the punch left its mark for a week with McGregor reportedly set to be charged for the incident.

"Look it, I can take a punch," he said."It was sore for about a week. It wasn't killing me or anything. I just don't want to make sure he doesn't do that to anyone else again, just taking him down a peg.

He added: "I don't like the man. I think he is getting a bad rep. He is a bit of a bully. A bully with money."

A fellow pub punter described the incident in detail, saying that the victim didn't leave his house for days afterwards.

“At the end of the day he doesn’t want an apology or any money, he just wants justice for what happened to him. He wouldn’t have been a fan of McGregor before all this and he most certainly isn’t now."

Last night, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather faced off  for the third time this week ahead of their mega money fight on August 26.

Earlier this week, The Notorious was accused of racism after telling his rival to “dance for me boy” during their stop in Toronto – claims Conor has since denied.

However, the UFC star's latest comments have not done him any favours.

Taking to the mic last night, Conor said, “I want to address something."

“Some of the media seems to think I’ve got something against black people."

“But I’m half black. I’m black from the bellybutton down!”

No. Just, no.

The comments have gathered a mixed reaction on social media.

While generally associated with trash talk, fighting and rivalry, it seems love was in the air at last night’s UFC competition in Madison Square Garden.

As our very own Conor McGregor announced that he is about to become a father, pop princess Demi Lovato all but confirmed her romance with MMA fighter Luke Rockhold.

The 24-year-old actress was pictured holding hands with the 32-year-old Californian as she entered the famous venue to watch McGregor’s historic victory.

According to the Mail Online, Demi and Luke were first linked in August this year, just two months after the former Disney star split with on-off boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

E! News has reported that the pair are spending an increasing amount of time together, but have yet to make their relationship official.

Sources told the site that the Confident hitmaker “is not looking for something that serious but if something evolves naturally over time she is willing to go with it and explore it”.

Say what you will about Conor McgGregor, but the UFC champ has always been a family man and his latest social media post is just more proof of that.

Back in July, Conor’s sister Erin gave birth to her second child; baby Harry.

Congratulations to my sister Erin and Terry on the new addition to the family! Baby Harry! Can't wait to meet him

But as you may have noticed, the Irish fighter has been pretty busy as of late taking up hours of air time as he fought his way through the UFC leaving little time to meet the newborn.

Today, however, the Dublin native took to Instagram to share a snap with the tot saying:

“Got to finally meet my little nephew Harry today!

“Long days on the road are tough but coming home to family after it makes it all worthwhile!”

Erin is already mum to teenage daughter Taylor and will no doubt be fighting with her 28-year-old brother for her son’s attention.

“He’s an ordinary fella who had a dream in his hand and went for it.

“All it takes is determination, passion and talent.”

After his victory on Saturday night, Conor McGregor has now been suspended from UFC for six months.

In his second match against Nate Diaz, Conor went the full distance of five rounds, however he has now received a six month medical suspension for injuring his left foot and ankle.

If you watched the match, then you'll know what Conor used his left leg to weaken Nate's leg, and while it took a toll on Nate during the match, it's Conor who is feeling the consequences.

According to the Irish Examiner, the MMA star will be out of action until February 2017.

Conor Mcgregor has been removed from his upcoming rematch with Nate Diaz after he refused to take part in any of the promotions for the UFC 200 main event.

Dana White, the UFC President confirmed the turn of events last night while talking to ESPN.

The row between the management of UFC and the Irish fighter led to a turbulent turn of events which saw Conor tweet about retiring early.

“I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s (sic) later," he wrote on the social media site.

Conor's rematch with Nate was supposed to mark the UFC 200 card in Las Vegas on July 9.

Speaking to ESPN, Dana said: “The UFC is currently working on a new main event for the card, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“You have to do the press conference, so Conor put out that tweet.

“Obviously, we still have a good relationship with Conor. I respect Conor as a fighter and I like him as a person, [but] you can’t decide not to show up to these things.”

The Biebs took to social media to speak out about the Irish UFC champion and insists Conor is still the top man.

After the shocking fight, Justin toasted the Irishman saying: "Still to McGregor. To McGregor!

"He's still the champ. That broke my heart." It broke our hearts too, Justin.

We love our Irish fighter, Conor McGregor, but it seems he's not too popular with one famous champion.

In an interview with FightHype.com, Floyd Mayweather said that UFC champion, Conor, is brash and arrogant.

He also said because Mr McGregor is white, he gets no heat for all the rude and irrational things he says.

"He talks a lot trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I'm cocky and arrogant. So biased," said Floyd.

He didn't stop there though, telling the website that he's annoyed because it all comes down to race.

"I ain't racist… "I ain't racist at all, but I'm telling you racism still exists," he finished.

Conor McGregor is one happy bunny right now, after defeating Jose Aldo over the weekend.

But it seems that Conor may have another job on his hands as actor Mark Wahlberg wants him to star in one of his upcoming movies.

TMZ Sports reports that Mark is trying to find the right fit for the UFC fighter and is considering giving him a role in one of his many, many projects.

The Daddy's Home star was out promoting the new flick in New York recently when he told the website that it's "very possible" the two could end up working together in the near future.

Let's hope that this gig lasts longer than 13 seconds

Conor McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds in a great victory in Las Vegas last night.

Conor and Jose's first battle was cancelled back in July, so last nights fight was well awaited, and the Irish were as proud as ever to name McGregor our champion.

We like to think we're champions ourselves sometimes, but there's somethings we only wish we could do in only 13 seconds:

1. Apply our make-up

This can take up SO much time in the morning and a 13 second routine would really make life much easier.

2. Take OFF our make-up

Just as much effort as putting on your make-up, is taking it off. It's honestly one of the most daunting bedtime tasks, am I right?

3. Dry our hair

Especially women with long hair, it seems like it can take a whole day to get our hair bone dry.

A magical 13-second hairdryer would come in handy here.

4. Ordering take-away

When hunger strikes, theres nothing better than ordering a tasty Domino's straight to your door. But the minute you hit that order button, it seems like it takes an ETERNITY for your food to get to you.

Domino's have made it a bit quicker now, though.

5. Travel to work

Having a long commute to work sometimes feels like it takes up your whole day.

How much easier would it be to skip the grimy public transport and teleport to work in a few seconds? If only dreams came true.

6. Cook

Even though a home cooked meal sounds delish, the last thing you want after a long day is to slave over a hot oven.

Microwaves are grand, but a roast chicken dinner in 13 seconds sounds way more awesome.

7. Gym time

We all know the healthy way to achieve a hot bod is to put in some gym time, but an hour on the treadmill… really?!

8. Nail polish

The bottles that reads, 'Dry in 60 seconds' lie, because it honestly feels like HOURS until your nails are dry again. #Struggles.

9. Pick out clothes

No matter if it's for work, date night ot your Christmas party, choosing an outfit can take anywhere between a week to an hour.

If only we could make decisions that bit faster.

10. Getting out of bed

The 20 minutes we all spend convincing ourselves to get up in the morning could be used way more productively.
