An Irish DJ group called Give Us The Night are lobbying for longer licencing hours for bars and clubs.

The group believes that introducing more progressive laws will improve the Irish club and music scene.

They also want to take the focus of a night out off drinking alcohol and back on enjoying some good tunes.

With Irish clubs closing at 2,30am, members of the group feel like Irish people have to export their fun from time to time.

DJ Sunil Sharpe told The Sun that: 'A lot of Irish people are paying to go clubbing in cities such as London, Berlin and Paris because the licensing laws in those cities are much more progressive.'

Venues can pay licencing fees in order to stay open later, but the funds are not feasible for smaller venues,

The Give Us The Night  group was founded in retaliation in the early 00s, when a policy was suggested which would see Irish club hours shortened from 2.30am to 1.30am.

'Nightclubs should be allowed more flexibility of opening hours, according to consumer demand,'  says Give Us The Night .

'We believe that nightclub culture does not solely revolve around the sale and consumption of alcohol, rather it also provides an outlet for people to socialise and enjoy music.'

'Therefore, from our perspective, alcohol does not need to be on sale for the entire duration of a nightclub’s opening hours.'

If it means we can have a bop for longer, we're here for it.

Stacey Solomon has revealed that a music producer once asked her for some 'alone time' in exchange for help with her music career.

Speaking on ITV's Loose Women, the 28-year-old explained how the unnamed man told her that sleeping with him would make a 'huge difference' to her professional life.

“I remember going out to a different country to work on a record and hopefully distribute it and that country," she told panel.

“And I met somebody who was really big – a music producer– who could help me distribute it and get on board and make a huge difference.”

The former X Factor contestant then went on to say how she laughed off the invitation, but eventually came to realise the detrimental impact her refusal would have on her career.

“At first I just laughed it off but then I realised it was a real invitation of ‘if you come with me then maybe I can help you,” she said

“At that point I was like Ok I am going to go home and definitely not further my career in this.”

And while she expressed disappointment that women are subjected to these types of situations, she maintained that she would not judge anyone for going along with it.

“It’s disheartening more than anything because you look and think I definitely had the credentials to do that just as well as the other person, so there’s no reason I shouldn't have got the job, but it is disheartening.”

However, fellow panellist, Janet Street-Porter, was no so forgiving.

“You say you’re not judging, but I judge them, I hate them. There could be two people qualified for the job and one get the job because they put out.”

Stacey finished the discussion by condemning those who use their power to take advantage of vulnerable young women.

“Ultimately those people in power shouldn't be putting women in that position in the first place.

“That is where the fault lies.”

We are counting down the days to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day, and as we get closer to the special occasion, more and more details are emerging about their big day.

From Prince William’s role in the wedding to Meghan’s wedding dress designer, there are 101 things we want to find out.

What flowers will Meghan have in her bouquet? What type of cake will they have? What will their first dance song be? The list of questions is never-ending.

We welcome any information about the royal wedding with open arms, so it’s safe to say we were thrilled to hear about the tradition Meghan will be breaking during her wedding.

The former Suits actress is supposedly going to give a speech at the event, which is extremely uncommon when it comes to royal weddings.

Usually, only the groom, the best man and the father-of-the-bride have the honour of speaking during the wedding. However, in one very badass move, Meghan will be delivering her very own speech following their marriage ceremony at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

A post shared by Kensington Palace (@kensingtonroyal) on

Apparently, Meghan’s speech will be a heartfelt tribute to Prince Harry, where she will thank her husband-to-be for everything, as well as all the people who have supported their relationship.

The Times suggested that the former actress may even add a few jokes to her speech, which we're sure Prince Harry will approve of.

We can’t wait to hear more about Harry and Meghan’s big day!

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, our minds have wandered to the recesses of our underwear drawer with destain for the over-washed wisps of plain cotton which lie within.

It's definitely more full coverage and comfy than Victorias Secret-esque, but that's all about to change.

Thanks to Lidl, you can now shop for a sexy lingerie look while your grabbing the weekly shop.

Kimono €7.99, Bra €7.99, Briefs €5.99

Amidst the affordable avocados, stacks of eggs and the beloved crisps aisle will soon live a seriously seductive range of lacy lingerie – but not for long with these prices.

The Esmara lingerie collection is monochrome, suiting everyone's taste.

The gorgeous Glenda Gilson is the face (and abs) of the line, and while frankly the seasoned presenter would look good wearing a plastic bag, the stunning selection of lace delicates and silk kimonos are oh so flattering.

Ladies kimono €7.99 each

Whether you're entertaining company for the night or lounging in PJs with the girls this coming Valentines Day, a robe is an essential.

Lidl is launching a selection of three silk kimonos, in classic black, racy red and an eclectic geometric print.

Would it be rude to purchase one for every mood?

Lace body €8.99

As Glenda demonstrates to great effect, a lace bodysuit is an unusual and flirty way to showcase your figure with a retro feel.

The slightly high cut of Lidl's monochrome bodysuits is extremely forgiving, and we can picture them teamed with jeans and barely there heels for the perfect Valentine's date night outfit – or a night on the tiles.

If you're feeling like a more traditional piece, a negligee is the way to go.

Lace bodies €8.99 each, Lace negligee €8.99

This black lace slip with a bow tie detail could be paired with any kind of briefs, and is exactly what we can picture the likes of SATC's Samantha reclining in with a glass of wine.

Whether you're treating yourself or planning on treating your partner, a classic bra and underwear set is a crowd pleaser (if you're into that).

Bra €7.99 each, Briefs €5.99 each

Lidl is stocking a selection of black and white lacy bras and knickers to mix and match. The sizes include 34B, 36B, 36C, 38B and 38C.

The collection lands in stores tomorrow so if there was a day of the week to do the weekly shop, it would be February 1.

With the birth of social media came an upsurge in the circulation of intimate images sent by ex partners in the aftermath of a break up.

Revenge porn, as it is more commonly known, has hit the headlines countless times over recent years, and the Labour Party are seeking to include it in a bill focussing on cyber-bullying.

According to emerging reports, the new bill would see the criminalisation of revenge porn, with those convicted liable to face a six-month prison sentence.

Commenting on the move, Labour leader, Brendan Howlin, reinforces the importance of protecting those who choose to join the online community.

"The advent of technology means we’re now living in a very different communications climate, and Ireland’s harassment current laws don’t reflect that."

"Our Bill seeks to bring existing regulation up to date by broadening the legal definition of communication, so it covers all electronic, written and spoken word, including for example, an iMessage, Whatsapp or Facebook message, and a tweet or social media post," he added.

The Harassment, Harmful Communications and Related Offences Bill will be debated in the Dáil this evening.

So, you might want to re-think your skinny coffee order, because new research suggests that full-fat milk is not the artery-clogging devil liquid we were once led to believe it was.

In fact, the study conducted at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark found that full-fat milk can actually promote good heart health.

The team of researchers discovered that non-skimmed dairy could boost levels of 'good' High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in the bloodstream.

Their report stated: “Dietary guidelines have for decades recommended choosing low-fat dairy products due to the high content of saturated fat in dairy known to increase blood concentration of LDL cholesterol .

“But studies show no association between overall dairy intake and risk of cardiovascular disease and even point to an inverse association with type 2 diabetes.”

The finding directly contradict decades of dietary advice, with skimmed or semi-skimmed milk often being hailed a healthier alternative to its full-fat counterpart.

“Our findings suggest whole milk might be considered a part of a healthy diet among the healthy population,” the study concluded.

What's more, in 2016, the same team found eating low-fat cheese did not reduce cholesterol, cut blood pressure or help to trim the waistline.

RIP to all the pizzas and chocolate milkshakes we've refused over the years – it was all in vain.

RTÉ has been combing through 300 songs, all submitted for consideration to be our entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, to find the tune that will set us apart.

Our number has been chosen: a beautiful ballad called 'Together'. The track was written by Ryan O'Shaughnessy, Mark Caplice and Laura Elizabeth Hughes, and is set to be performed by Ryan.

We wouldn't be surprised if you recognise his name, as Ryan has been on our screens for years now. The talented singer-songwriter played Mark Halpin in RTÉ's Fair City for nine years.

The 25-year-old studied at Billy Barrie at the age of four, later focusing on songwriting during his time at BIMM Dublin.

Ryan can't stay away from the small screen, as he also appeared on the finals of both The Voice of Ireland and Britain’s Got Talent.

His original song 'No Name' has over 45 million hits on YouTube, and his 2012 self-titled EP reached number one in Irish charts.

We can't wait for Ryan to show off just how much talent Ireland has on May 8 at the Eurovision Semi Final in Lisbon! The grand final will take place on May 12.

"As one of three songwriters on 'Together', I’m delighted it has been chosen to represent Ireland in Eurovision 2018, and on top of that, to be asked to perform for my country is an absolute honour," Ryan gushed.

A post shared by Ryan O'Shaughnessy (@ryan_acoustic) on

"I plan on doing Ireland proud by bringing a song and performance to Eurovision that we haven’t seen since the days of ‘Rock and Roll Kids'.

"Last year’s winning song from Salvador Sobral was a beautiful, melodic piece, and I think it may have carved the way for the Eurovision to revert back to being a song contest where true songs can flourish.

"I can’t wait to get onto that stage and perform an honest piece for millions of people."

Here's hoping Ryan can bring back a win!

One of the most puzzling crimes in modern history has to be the tragic death of British student Meredith Kercher in 2007.

Despite the crime having occurred over a decade ago in the Italian town of Pugalia, the horrific death still captures the interest of true crime fanatics.

The case was unique thanks to the salacious media coverage at the time, and Amanda Knox, or 'Foxy Knoxy' became infamous from it.

A post shared by Amanda Knox (@amamaknox) on

Amanda made headlines all over the world when she and her boyfriend at the time Raffaele Sollecito were wrongfully convicted of the murder.

Amanda spent four years in an Italian prison until she was acquitted of the crime in 2011.

Amanda Knox's insight into the crime has been well documented through a number of factual films, the most notable being 2016's Amanda Knox documentary on Netflix.

A post shared by Amanda Knox (@amamaknox) on

This Saturday, Amanda will reveal to Ray what it was like to be imprisoned in a foreign country for a crime she did not commit.

She is also expected to detail what it was like to be accused of the murder of her housemate, and her fight to freedom.

She will also discuss her life in the aftermath of the crime.

The Ray D’Arcy Show airs this Saturday at 10pm on RTÉ One.

Met Eireann has issued a yellow weather warning for hailstones this afternoon from 12pm to 3pm.

They have warned motorists to be extra careful in this weather, as hailstones can be particularly hazardous and unpredictable.

Hailstones can happen year-round in Ireland.

In order to stay safe in these risky weather conditions, cruise control should be switched off when driving.

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) also says to reduce speed without braking during a sudden downpour of hailstones.

Alerting other motorists with your hazard warning lights is recommended.

As well, the RSA advises that you avoid sudden steering movements or braking suddenly when caught up in hailstones.

For more guidance on how to drive in this weather, watch this video from the RSA:

We have officially reached 'believing in conspiracy theories' section of Kylie Jenner's phantom pregnancy.

On the one hand, we have all those grainy photos which appear to show the 20-year-old lip kit mogul heavily with child, that covered up Calvin Klein ad and the numerous 'quotes' from 'sources close to the family, and on the other we have approximately nothing from the Kardashian clan themselves.

However, if we know Kris Jenner like we wish we did, we would think that the momager wouldn't let a little thing like a pregnancy announcement go buy without a sufficient amount of monetisation.

So, if it was to be announced on KUWTK like Kim's, we wouldn't be surprised.

Well, this nifty little hypothesis is backed up by some information about the episode titles of the new season of Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Wikipedia shows that the season finale could be called We're Expecting.

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Seeing as both Kim and Khloe have already announced their pregnancy news in the season, this led one Twitter account, Tabloid Art Culture, to point out that the season finale could be Kylie's time to shine.

Obviously Wikipedia is not the most reliable source for information, but the site has been right about the season's episode titles so far.

However, the account also speculates that the episode could actually be about big sister Khloe's pregnancy.

With an updated synopsis being added for episode 18 which details the fact that Khloe is trying to keep her pregnancy secret from the public, it would be that episode 19 focuses on the Good American designer's Instagram announcement.

The episode doesn't air on E! until February 25, so we still have a few weeks until we find out for sure.

Seriously, we're cracking up here Kylie, we NEED to know.

If you look good, you're not working hard enough… or so they say.

And while most of us know a full face of make-up is a big no-no in the gym studio, many of us can't resist a quick concealer or foundation top-up.

Whether it's to alleviate the exercise flush or simply for a burst of confidence, the vast majority of us have worked out with our make-up on.

And while many women associate break-outs with wearing make-up to the gym, how many of us have drawn a correlation between heat rash and our decision to top up our foundation before our weight session?

According to a report in Cosmopolitan, wearing make-up doesn't only cause spots, but is also responsible for miliaria, better known as heat rash.

Dr Preethi Daniel of London Doctors Clinic elaborates on the condition, saying: "Heat rash or miliaria which are small itchy bumps on the skin can develop from not letting your skin breath."

"Sweat needs to evaporate off the body, cooling it and lifting impurities. By not allowing this you have more of a chance of developing these small itchy bumps."

So, if you've been lucky enough to avoid the pimple break-out, but have fallen victim to a heat rash, it's likely something to do with your pre-gym cosmetic routine.

Something to keep in mind, ladies.
